‘Joining the Dots’ has been on REPEAT while I’ve been going on my fall walks. It’s my favourite b-side from ‘Humbug’ and the acoustic version is even better than the original recording (imo). Alex’s voice is just so soft and velvety and vulnerable and devastatingly beautiful 😭 I had to share it! The entire acoustic performance he does for this WRXP Session is so so lovely.

alex's presence on stage is so strong. i know there's a whole band beside him but it's impossible to take your eyes off him, everything he does demands your full concentration. he's magnetic without being showy, i don't even know how he does it. he never openly talks to the crowd or demands our participation but everyone is always there for him for every moment, he's so compelling it's crazy. his sheer Being There is very reverential, i guess is what i mean
#i Knew it bc i have seen them live before but it was a powerful reminder last night#interpol was amazing bc they're great musicians but their contrast with the monkeys is so stark#paul banks stays with his guitar by his mic stand and that's it#alex walks around dances fiddles with things on stage goes near the front drinks a bit#and every little movement he does or word he speaks warrants guttural screams from the crowd#but it's never like forced or showy like some extroverted artists are. you guys know right#it's just so njfnjgnbgj he's a special little guy i love him so much#alex turner
