Hey y’all, I’m a high school senior and for my senior project I’ve decided to build an ADA compliant accessibility ramp in the basement of one of the building in my school. If you’re interested in following my progress give me a follow here, on TikTok, or on Twitter
————————
This is the area I plan to build the ramp. The issue is that there’s an elevator that goes down to the basement but in order to get to most of the classrooms on this floor you have to go up the stairs. Not only is this inconvenient, it’s inaccessible.
————————
The design of my ramp is similar to this one outside this building at my school (this is also the building where I’m building the ramp), it wont be exactly the same but this served as good inspiration

This is my final design and some calculations I did
————————
So far I’ve gotten 3 8ft 2”x4” wood planks that I’ve cut down so I can start building the landing. I’ve also made sure that they fit in the area where I plan to build (the lockers and trash can will eventually be moved)

If you know this school, no you don’t. And if you’ve made to the end of my post please donate to my Cash App or Venmo or buy from my Depop (all in my bio and linked below) because I need the money to buy more supplies/materials.
