I want someone to just ruin my life <3

Get me drunk, do it often. Make me an alcoholic and make me thrive off of it and depend on you for it. I want drunk to be my default state and I want to be a fucking mess, figuratively in how I am with my life, and also a mess like dirty and messy as I’m either too drunk to care, or too drunk to be careful not to get messy. Toy with me and mess with me but give me more alcohol to ruin myself with, then both laugh and care for me when I am ruined.

I didn't realize you were Danish! My great grandmother came from Denmark. I always wanted to connect with my heritage but I have no traditions passed down or any idea of Danish culture. What are some things you love about Danish culture? What are some things you'd recommend to learn more?

Parts of Danish culture that I appreciate, a very incomplete list:

A food culture with infinite delicious combinations of meat, potatoes, and sauce

Dark humor being the norm

Rye bread

Black licorice

Beer

Our local rap queen Tessa

Bicycle culture and mostly walkable cities

The ocean always being close

That we are mostly done arguing about things like whether abortion should be legal, whether being gay is bad or whether the climate crisis is real (I'm side-eyeing you, America)

Universal health care

A free education system (you can actually get paid just to study once you turn 18)

The rough beauty of our silly little language

The ocean always being close

No extreme temperatures or natural disasters (yet)

Our current culture of making the trashiest pop you could imagine

Copenhagen

Free speech

Accessible welfare

A somewhat functional democracy

Having access to functional public transport almost everywhere

as newspapers today dont tend to hire children, a modern day Tintin would run a clickbait YouTube channel, except the clickbait is 100% real every single time

he starts off as an irritating conservative pundit at 14, meets Chang then leaves the think tank paying him and launches his own independent channel and blows up shortly after. Chang helps with video editing and managing his socials and they often chat on video calls between adventures. Haddock, his foster dad, has absolutely no knowledge of his earlier videos.

Modern AU versions of Tintin and his friends! Notes about their designs under the Read More:

Tintin - A grey and yellow baseball tshirt references his grey sweatervest and yellow shirt look from the earlier comics. Cargo joggers replace his plus fours - plus fours were popular with golfers in the 20s and 30s as athletic wear, so I opted for cargo joggers for that preppy but sporty vibe. He also wears leather trainers and keeps his handy phone in an industrial case. Snowy wears a collar now!

Haddock - when not working on a ship as a merchant captain he opts for a hoodie and sweatpants. He might look sloppy but it's pretty practical for the wild adventures he's dragged into! He's Tintin's exhausted foster father in this AU.

Calculus - I gave him 2000s style rectangular frames to make him feel modern but still kind of dated, like how he wears fashion a few decades behind in the canon comics. I dressed him like my high school physics teachers - he has a necktie, a pocket protector, a zip through fleece and orthopedic shoes. I had frames like these for some time until I broke them at work lol

Chang - as soon as I read the Blue Lotus and saw Chang for the first time I immediately thought he was wearing crocs. I don't know why crocs are so popular. I don't think they're particularly comfortable. They feel sweaty and weird and don't stay on your feet when you run. I don't get crocs. But they're popular in Asia lol (I kept Chang's design super simple, he's an orphan with no money)

Abdullah - I had way too much fun with him! I know Supreme is kinda dated now (it's definitely a 2016 thing) but I still find it funny and the colour scheme fits. A lot of local Muslim teenagers in my area mix sportswear with traditional clothing so I did the same here, but made it obnoxiously bougie lol

Zorrino - I didn't change much for him as his original design is pretty timeless. I gave him socks and slides, a beanie and joggers. His button up shirt is replaced with a polo shirt but the difference isn't big.
