(pla spoilers) you know what the more I think about it volo's kind of ?? ? ? unique as a twist villain???? I think people have mentioned it before but it's just so interesting skjdhfskjdf

like. like okay gio and guzma. kind of classic villains, cards on the table from the start. archie, maxie, same deal, just classic villains, it doesn't matter whether they're rich or whatever. then you have ghetsis and cyrus where it's REALLY obvious that they have an agenda so it's not surprising that they end up being the bad guys right??? yeah???

then you hit gen 6 and it's kind of snooze city from then on (except guzma obviously), EVERY villain is some influential/rich person who's nice to the player (at FIRST!!!!!! cue dramatic music and canned audience gasps. no one is surprised any more. sorry rose but it was you, leon, or sonia/magnolia as the villain and that suspense got shattered in 2 seconds.) like, it's the same old thing over and OVER and OVER again. I haven't played SV yet but I'm sure it'll be more of the same from the billions of spoilers per hour I've been completely unable to avoid. 🙄🙄🙄😴😴😴😴😴😴

anyways volo is like. none of that. he has a unique sort of cadence but literally who doesn't in hisui. the first man you meet is literally british. and he's NOT some important figure. he's NOT rich. he doesn't even do his job well. he's just another character -- he's LITERALLY just Some Guy. he doesn't even like..... ominously spout shit like cyrus does until the postgame.

AUH. I think he's so neat. favorite. fantastic character. complex guy. decided to destroy the world spontaneously, probably. tells laventon what he did so the player has credibility again. redeemable. both sides of "baby boy baby -- evil" in one guy.
