I've had this on my mind for ages now, so I'm just going to say it. The Spirit Hunter series releases follows the Shrek formula. Is this anything? Idk I'm tired.

Death Mark = Shrek

The first of the series and a brand new IP, it takes already existing tropes and blends them into something new, while also adding a bit of raunchiness to stand out from what came out at the time in the genre. Introduces characters that we'll come to know and love.

NG = Shrek 2

Normally considered the best of its franchise, and has updated (upgraded?) a lot from the first one. We are introduced to new characters and their relationship dynamics within the same universe. Both involve a quest with a ragtag group that has them saving someone who's been caught up in the antagonists scheme in some way. The main character is out of their element and annoyed most of the time.

Death Mark 2 = Shrek 3

Considered a drop off and even a disappointment from what came before. Some say the pacing is too fast, and some characters are ooc. We're introduced to characters we're probably not going to see or care about again. The more important story characters got some more background and lore moments, but it doesn't make up for the media as a whole. Has to do with a school of some kind.

So if the series were to continue this formula with Death Mark 3 (or NG 2, whatever comes out first) We could possibly predict how the next installment will be. From what I can think of with Shrek 4:

It was considered an extreme step up from the movie before it, but a pretty okay movie in general. Some things it's praised for is the writing, good emotional beats, and mature themes.

Introduces a villain character that is liked for just how good they are at being evil. Said character makes a deal with the main character that kicks off the events and suffering of the main character.

Something to do with being sent to an alternate reality where things are similar, but different in some way.

Main character feels annoyed at having so many new people in their life, but come to appreciate them more by the end of the film.

Some htf dynamics that I think are very sillay

Warning: mostly just rambles lol

Handy and toothy- THEY TOTALLY HAVE A SIBLING DYNAMIC!! I don’t think they’re actually related, but I think they just act like siblings and get along well despite their differences. Toothy would be like the younger brother and handy is older, and toothy would probably just be annoying asf to handy and handy just deals with it. Toothy also probably goes to handy for advice, and handy doesn’t rly care so he just says some bs so toothy can leave him alone

Flippy and lammy- I think these two silly heads would be sweet friends, and both also connect cause of their mental illnesses. I haven’t gone too into it, but I think lammy would be the “less stable” one of the two cause she’s younger and doesn’t rly know how to deal with her issues like flippy does. Flippy would try to help Lammy sometimes, and they would have tea together. I’d like to think that he tells her about his past, as she’s one of the younger tree friends who could actually understand his problems.

Toothy and sniffles- they are nerd loser besties!! They would totally geek over nerd stuff like those Splendid comics and anime or smthing else nerdy. Even tho they’re both nerds, toothy is the bigger loser cause he’s more of a wimp and just kind of a pushover (I’m trying to give him SOMEWHAT of a personality 😭), while sniffles doesn’t take shit and and be a bitch (also they are lovers, you can’t convince me otherwise ☺️)

Lammy and handy- they have a “normal person and crazy ass person” dynamic. I headcanon that it’s still pretty ambiguous whether lammy actually murders people or not, but she still helps with hiding bodies and cleaning up the messes that Mr. Pickels makes. Lammy usually tries to kill off anyone who catches her and Mr pickels cause she doesn’t want to go back to jail, but she trusts handy cause he just doesn’t care. He doesn’t mind lammy or Mr Pickels killing anyone, just as long as it doesn’t get in the way of his work. He is kinda put off by her creepy demeanor, but still tries his best to be respectful to her

Russell and cuddles- ENEMIES TO LOVERS!! I find it funny that many people put them against each other cause they both want giggles, but I wanna put a spin on that and make it so that they want EACHOTHER. (Also I hc giggles is a lesbian so she doesn’t give a shit abt them) Cuddles and Russell first act like they hate each other cause they both dated giggles, but secretly they want each other but are both too dumb to realize it. (Toothy and lumpy are the only ones that know abt it, but both cuddles and Russell are too dumb to listen to them)

RN IM LIKE, wanting to draw a small series of drawings abt how in my litle gay story they Met n stuff, its sillay but im mostly doing it 4 myself, so i think its ok;;

I have this One painting I made, which is . the first encounter heart emoji, p self explanatory; Steve is out exploring a cave, n he finds a zombie who doesnt attack him on sight, which he finds Odd, theres moss growing around and on him, so it looks like he's been there for a long time, they exchange no words, n Steve walks past him, but he cant stop thinking about him afterwards

After a day or two of mining alone, Steve decides to go back to the zombie and try to talk to him, at first he doesnt respond. Steve keeps coming back to try to talk, and one day he does, he hasnt spoken in so long, undead but not alive. He tells Steve tht the only thing he ever has known is to be violent towards any human he sees, no matter what, but any other zombie hes ever met has been killed by this "purpouse", so he decided he'd ignore his violent urges, till they were no more; but now, there's nothing for him to do, no more purpouse, no reason to stay alive, but he doesnt want to stop existing.

Steve had never been so close to a zombie, while they stay sitting peaceful, its a shock to hear such a rare story from such a rare source; he wants to be of help, offer companionship and friendship. Steve has many more stories to tell than the zombie, but neither mind this, the zombie is fascinated by Steve's adventures, and hes happy to be able to get the zombie to smile.

The zombie leaves his sitting spot to go with Steve to his makeshift base, he's a little awkward and slow, but Steve doesnt mind waiting.

After having bonded in the mines for a while, Steve decides its time to leave, but he doesnt want to abandon his new friend, so he offers him to keep traveling with him. Steve was expecting hesitation, but is surprised to see the zombie's excitement n enthusiasm at the idea; with an iron helmet and boots, they finally leave the cave, the zombie is enamored by the sunset tht he had long forgotten about, moon and night sky making him feel wonder and love he hadnt felt ever in his existence, he holds steve's hand as they walk along

Not the same as him and definitely more human looking, but they are definitely NOT human

What if they fed off human emotions instead of human flesh? Would he get along better with another demon or would he be kind of put off?

ooooo this one is going to be interesting because while i do call jack a demon i dont think he is one.. at least not fully yet.. i mean oh yeah hes definitely cursed with something in my sillay hc but shrugs; sometimes labels are overrated that said i hope you enjoy this anon!

oh he would be so so put off. like yeah sure he knows he has no where to speak since hes literally slowly turning into something that cant be called human. he admits that he doesnt have much room to speak when it comes to others, but he mostly says that in the face of humans... but to a demon? ohhoho this is going to be interesting

i think a lot of times in the beginning hes going to be very wary of you and maybe even avoid you, its going to take some time for the two of you to get to know one another and get on speaking terms... its probably going to take a real hard shove to bring you two together

while im getting into this i may as well drop my personal lore on demon/non human creepypasta characters that may or may not change a lot of things

i know i brought this up before in a few posts, primarily my zalgo post

anyways tldr; zalgo made all the non human characters in the universe and/or planted a means to make them non human (ex. giving ben the means to come back as a ghost, providing the thing thats fucking up ej, ect ect) i think the only real exception is laughing jack since he was made to be good originally before following in the steps of the kid he was assigned to. shrugs. characters like the proxies get roped in my another character (ex. masky and the others by slenderman); while characters like jeff are your regular old krillers. non human/demon stuff just IS in thiis universe, simply another piece of nature blah blah yeah

^so naturally if we're following that hc for this post the reader falls under this... but even if you dont, you didnt really ask to be a demon , much like jack didnt

i dont think you can feed off his emotions even if you wanted to/tried, i think after a certain point he stops being considered and recognized as human

GOD can you imagine him receiving that news? he decides to give himself up so you can feed only for you both to discover that hes no longer an option. like an official sign that hes too far gone

though i think overall he tries to push for you guys to eat separately; outside of his offer he doesnt really want to know how you feed... and he doesnt want you to see how he feeds (for obvious reasons)

i think you would be safe when he goes a lil feral during his feeding/hunger frenzies since he knows youre not a human and/or can still sense youre not even when hes not mentally there fully so hey look at it this way! the chance of him attacking you is very low

back to actual relationship stuff i think it would be a very tense relationship for the first chunk

oooo imagine you tell him about the whole zalgo thing and kind of provide him with knowledge of whats going on; i mean jack is still very much in the dark about a lot of stuff regarding the topic and who knows it might build some trust (winks)

as for that last bit in your request... what if you werent born a demon or created? what if you were in a similar situation as him?

while i do think he would have some sympathy and you guys might possibly bond over having similar trauma; but i think. at least on jacks end. it would serve too much of a reminder of what happened to him

it sounds horrible, and he acknowledges its a horrible thing to think and feel but he cant stop that feeling.. he wouldnt exactly fully turn his back on you, but i do think he would hold his distance at least a little longer than the other option as a means to protect himself mentally

its harsh but it is what it is (slaps ej. this bad boy can hold so much angst potential)

I actually like the watchers but only my idea of them lol. too many people make them so serious big evil guys. they should be kinda sillay. guys around a table discussing what gimmick they can give the next death game with grian leading the group discussion. grian wasnt supposed to join the game bc he was the supervisor dammit now they need to get someone else.

Like every life series they’re not too terribly upset to be there lol. I’m 99% percent sure grian went around to his friends like hey I got us a little world did all the paperwork and stuff and get this. its a murder world. and they were like omg sign me up. upsetting stuff tm does Happen but ultimately. they are still like yippee I'd do that again.

the life series is ultimately less and more angsty than it appears on the surface. its a bunch of friends going to murder resort server island that their friend reserved for them then pissed off the actual responsibilities for maintaining murder resort island bc he also wanted to take part in the murder :((((

anyways I just think if you’re taking the series literally it’s kind of impossible to act like they’re forcefully stuck in a miserable cycle they’re all having a great time. and idk just evil watchers is boring. like the games have kept going on they’re mildly miffed with grian but it certainly hasn't amounted to much if anything. they sigh and shake their fists but grians like that one coworker who really isnt doing his job correctly but he’s funny so. its ok. at least he’s entertaining.

#so yeah #ive written a teeny tiny little watcher thing I should finish and release it someday I just think they should be more ambiguous silly guys #I also have mixed feelings on making people besides grian watchers but ultimately itsnot that serious and the designs SLAP #like on one hand I feel like making half the server an eldritch god now kinda takes away from the funny futility of the server and the fact #grian Knows but is subjecting himself to the horrors for the funs of it all willingly plus only grian ever really 'ascends' in eco but also #it rlly doesnt matter these series arent all that thematically coherent or meant to be really lol so go have fun #more people should indeed play with the fact pearl is still canonically a god tho. like empires being the same pearl as hermit and life #series pearl is semi canon god from a completely unrelated pantheon really wants to also join your murder game #like. semi canon as in a lot of other life players recognized each other but pearl and Scott didnt but felt familiar around each other #so they prolly repressed double life lets be honest aksfjalkjflakf but seems to be the same individuals since a lot of others #seem to remember all that. so yeah!#limited life #traffic life #the watchers #grian

🌟 Ahkrinaak: general elder scrolls oc, he/him/any pronouns. he is based off me as a sort of self insert/persona character purely for comedy, not a serious au. dragon/god who was corrupted in the war with lorkhan/shor and became more so an agent of lorkhan. he spends most of his time pretending to be a mortal and causing problems. he’s just sillay. looks like a falmer/snow elf and nord hybrid making pretty much everyone just in general uncomfortable. dragons dont have gender he just likes tits. divorced with alduin

🌟 Lyre: not a skyrim oc (yet) but my beloved dnd character i have made a million aus for, including one that has turned into a full on novel lmao. will update everyone when i start uploading the novel (its not gonna be too serious just a fun lil webnovel that is pg rate) and you can see me post illustrations for. depending on the AU uses either he/him or she/her. i just think theyre neat

🌟 Anthial: nerevarine bosmer, tired, angry, nb spellsword. he/them pronouns. just wants to cover their entire body until you cant tell what gender they are. vivec never got them the drink he owed them. was convinced as nerevar that voryn never liked them back all that much. had an open marriage with almalexia. this incarnation was emotionless and lacked a moral compass due to the betrayal in their past life.

🌟 Steren: nerevarine, technically. not actually the reincarnation of nerevar, but the reincarnation of nerevar’s son. nerevar never reincarnated bc he was too busy haunting his descendants, too upset to move on. steren has a couple of aus but mostly its him with vivienne the dragonborn who belongs to @mulberrycafe. calls voryn “ata” and nerevar “dad” because he technically grew up in cyrodiil but remembers his first lifetime in bits and pieces where voryn raised him for the first few years.

Tldr: marina did, pearl is sillay so it took her a huge confession to actually get it

Long answer: this below ! Thought that it would be necessary to explain what happens before hand so...

8 goes to pearl and marina for advice, since she has 0 idea on how to deal with her very not new (not sarcastic lol) feelings for 3 like a normal person. At first they both give out generic ass advices like well are you sure you like her or whatever that are completely useless in this context bc 8 is absolutely certain of her feelings toward 3. Anyway after some back and forth 8 decides to ask them about it one by one instead of both at once because theyre both saying the same shit rn almost. and a divergence seems to create itself between pearl and marina's opinion on the situation:

Pearl is encouraging her to jump into it and confess whenever she can, accentuating on the possibility she just might miss her chance if she lets her anxiety over this takes over, that to live a life without regret she shouldnt lie about her feelings toward 3, that if shes as such of a good friend as 8 claims itll all work out in the end, and honestly she thinks its pretty damn certain that 3 likes 8 so why all this bullshit just go girl! Go get your little meow meow!!!

Marina starts being kind of .?.discouraging i guess ? Saying that its none of her business and that its up to 8 either way and shell always be there to support her but from what she has seen of 3 there seems to be no hints of them feeling anything for 8 bc people dont just show that type of stuff this easily, and acting like its possible to be certain of how 3 feels about 8 is untrue and maybe a bit selfish even. and that once again 8 is free to do whatever she wants but she has to be realistic, if 3 does not like her back confessing will probably ruin the bond they currently have because it would become too awkward. Just think of it a bit more, observe the situation. Maybe you shouldnt think of your feelings toward them too much like just enjoy your lives together 8 !! ^_^

8 officially becomes "caught between two stools" as they say. the two extremely different tones, one of unbridled motivation and the other of... uh?. clash into her brain and it stresses her out a lot, she starts to avoid 3 bc she doesnt want to say smth dumb since she thinks whatever she could do would go against the advice of the other. (kind of ends up hurting the later's feeling but they do not mention it because it might just be something unrelated to them and theyre making it about themself for nothing. But its irrelevant rn actually LOL)

Anyway 8 goes back to discus the category 5 event (to her at least) w them again but this time she starts by asking marina. the same thing as before pretty much but 8 just starts to get cranky from the stress of it all. Marina is like uh oh. 8 gets kinda mad and tells marina its not fair for her to discourage her so much when she managed to get with pearl just fine so there is no sense to whatever shes saying since its not her experience, and was about to continue into saying that but maybe shes right and all of that . When marina cuts her off, "what do you mean, get with pearl?" And 8 is just like well i am talking about your obvious relationship with pearl of the romantic kind that isn't even worth mentioning due to how obvious it is what else??

Except that no. They're not, they're not actually together LOL .

and it just clicks into 8s brain that marina was just picking up her own anxious feelings due to her inability to confess her love to pearl (Because its obvious shes in love with pearl like she's not stupid). and throwing them at her like a bunch of dodge balls. Which isn't very nice and actually pisses 8 off so she just leaves like. Super jumps outta the mansion and breaks a window in the process.

Marina is just like :( sends 8 a few messages but they're def not getting read until the day after, or the day after the day after. Anyway ! Pearl heard them argue so she goes over to check on marina. Pearl asks her what was going on and marina tells her that 8 has asked her about the 3 situation again and pearl is like "omg me too ! So you totally told her to go confess right" eh.... not really.

So pearl is genuinely kind of surprised. rina... what the hell babe! Love ya but thats a p big social blunder u just made, not cool have you apologized to 8 yes oh ok well i guess youve got to wait now dont worry ill Try to talk to 8 too dw, you know she doesnt hate you dont worry that kind of stuff happens. But like why did you say that fr.

Marina tries to tell her shes just being realistic but pearl is like nah youre just being super negative for nothing sheesh. Thats not being realistic thats just being anxious, i get youre p much always worried for her and all but thats a bad approach to the situation.

Marina tries to stfu as much as she can by this point bc shes scared to say something that would reveal her feelings so shes just "yeah ok pearl sorry". but pearl can see shes being surprisingly silent all of a sudden so shes like. "Uh are you doing that thing were youre not saying anything because you think that whatever youll say will sound stupid"

-"No pearlie i am not"

"Yes you are !! Cmon spit it out babe, or else ill try to guess lol. Jk though you know i don't wanna be too privy i just want to make sure ur doing ok cus this is doesn't seem like u rn you're clearly going thru smth"

Marina is like .Ok pearl i just think that its normal to want to be careful when you feel something for someone you admire and love? What if you messed it up and ruined everything ? Dont the other person s feelings matter too? What if you just wanted to forget how you feel about her because she means so much to you.

Pearl stares at her and is just... ermh. wait, are you talking about yourself ? You're in love with someone and you want to forget about it because you're afraid of what you currently have with them?

Marina looks at her like the world is about to end. Annnnnnd "well, you know how i feel about that type of stuff, better to be honest and all. But i hate seeing you suffer and if you feel so conflicted and hurt about these feelings you have. Trust me! Ill make you forget all about them 'rina!!" HUH !!? "Yeah ! Why don't you try meeting new people huh? That might help you get your mind off of that mystery person, lemme make a few phone calls..."

And then the day after she finds herself at a speed dating event

"Oh god she wasnt joking" she thinks . and the dude in front of her is like " uh hello its your turn to introduce yourself. If you dont like guys you shouldve precised its annoying to switch tables-" "DIE im not even the one who booked this stupid thing" and leaves like immediately

Marina goes home and walks directly to the studio room bc she just wants to get this silly event out of her head annnnd. She cant find her lyrics book. Mhh. weird. she turns around and sees pearl. Holding a sheet of paper that suspiciously looks like.. UH OH

"Oh god marina... why didnt you tell me... you had... these... ABSOLUTE BANGER LYRICS WRITTEN DOWN!!! Lets make a tune w this bitch wtf" and she shows marina the like extremely insanely romantic song she had written as an attempt to confess to pearl before panicking last minute and hiding it somewhere and she looks like a ghost now.

Pearl isnt that dumb and she can see that marina looks mega uncomfortable and after a while it Clicks and she says "ohhh. Hey no worries i'm not stupid. It was for that special someone huh. Well damn marina. I know i said i wouldn't intrude but the way i see it... what you feel for them, its seems real. its not something you should hide. With how great you are you really shouldn't have any issues ! Hell if these lyrics were meant for me id probably fall in love with you if we weren't basically an item haha JUST KIDDING of course im sorry if this sounded like i was making fun of ur situation ok i will stop talking now before you lose all respect for me hahh"

Then marina looks at her. AND OH MY GOD ITS NOT FUCKING POSSIBLE HOW IS SHE MISSING IT But also its good i guess bc she doesn't love me back i'm sure but WHY WHY WHY. And just mutters "oh, ill think about it:)" and leaves the studio. Pearl asks her where shes going and she says she's going to bed. Pearl goes to sleep a little bit later but when she gets in their room she doesn't see her, and that plushie that marina sleeps with is missing, she realizes that marina is sleeping in the guest room. (Because they usually sleep in the same bed, as all besties do naturally.)

The next day marina isn't there and there are like 100 scenarios playing in pearl's head. She contacts marina and gets no responses. She asks 3, 4, capn cuttlefish, callie marie and 8 so basically like everyone she thought might know at first. The others say they have no idea but 8 says marina invited her to eat ice cream and apologize in person for the earlier events, marina told her she was just being a bit overbearing and silly. and that 8 should go tell 3 blablabla, though she left after, sure she seemed fine. I didn't pay much attention to her face, why would i... no i don't know where she went after that sorry but she said shed just walk around, is she missing ? I mean i saw her just this morning.

So nope, truly no one saw her today except for 8. She tries to think about where she could be, she checks around the city, the stores quickly asks around but nope no clues. Shes stressed out and feel stupid. There is one place left and So she goes to it because Maybe... shes there ? Its silly but maybe she does the same thing as her and goes to mt. Nantai when shes stressed out or smth

After a bit of a hike. She finds herself at the same spot in mt. Nantai where she and marina met.

And she sees said octogal seating here !! Phew thats a relief- oh no shes crying.

She immediately sits down next to her. "Whats going on marina??"

Shes trying to say that shes fine and all but the words come out as semi gibberish

She just sits there crying for a while while pearl has her hand on her shoulder.

After a while she stops crying but still stays silent, shes looking away from pearl. Pearl tries to get her to talk and after some more time she does. In octarian! A very sappy confession, her fears and the love she has for pearl, how much she means to her etc finally said out loud at last, even if pearl wouldn't understand. It actually goes for quite a while, marina had a lot to share. At the end of it, marina feels much better. Even if pearl doesn't get it, at least marina found a way to express her feelings somehow. she finally turns her head and looks at pearl, whose eyes are wide open... wait whats this reaction for, did she... understand what i said?

"Hooly shit. You really feel that way?"

Uhhhhh my life is over actually. Marina is about to speak to somehow try and go back on her 15 minutes long monologue but-

"Man... if whoever you loved was the one hearing this that'd be crazy. Are they an octoling ? Since you spoke in octarian and all. I gotta admit i'm a little jealous hah. I mean. I'm not sure i was meant to understand what you just said though. Sorry."

-"pearl. What."

"Oh i mean you were talking as if i was the mysterious someone right-"

-" OOOH MY GOD PEARL YOU ARE THE MYSTERIOUS SOMEONE I LOVE ! I AM IN LOVE WITH YOU !! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!" And she just starts crying again like an insane person

And after 800 fucking years pearl FINALLY. ACTUALLY GODDAMN GETS IT.

And she laughs !

Shocked, marina is about to ask her if shes making fun of her but then she hears a sniffle and when she actually looks at pearl s face proper she can see a tear running down one of her eye. Pearl tells her something like "you know, i have made jokes about it but they werent lies either, i know its wrong of me but well, my heart has been yours for a while, 'rina. Even if i never told you outright... its pretty obvious, but i was afraid of losing you, you are my world ! I shouldn't have hid it. Guess i'm a bit hypocritical huh? Sorry babe"

Marina looks at her like an insane person

"Okayy maybe i wasn't clear enough: i am in love with you too, marina. You believe me right?"

...

"Alright uhh lemme repeat that-"

And then marina jumps on her octo expansion ending style, starts crying again but of joy this time. pearl sneaks in a kiss and they just stay like that for a while, hugging eachother.

And then they go home because its starting to get very very cold lool

actually i’ll get into it why not. so holly italian american in 1950s (not a good thing to be in 1950s) in new york city (which was a mix mash of rich but also very poor. just walking past your neighborhood would mean going into a new world essentially). joseph and suzi do their absolute best to keep her safe and away from the worst of it but holly is a curious kid: she is joseph “heh. what will happen if i do xyz” joestar and suzi “i love teasing i love being sillay i love poking and prodding and see ppl get flustered” q’s daughter ok she does not keep her nose clean

anyway jotaro gets his sense of justice from SOMEWHERE ie HOLLY so when she sees really intense like, gang turf wars and classism and stuff, she goes nuts. esp re the police-community tension that was particularly notorious at the time (holly didn’t trust them). so obviously she takes it into her own hands and runs headfirst into the shit

i dont think she realizes it’s a systemic problem so she’s just going at it trying to fix it all on an individual basis and she enjoys that work but it is EXHAUSTING. she thinks of herself as a one man army cause she has this special super power (hamon but she doesnt know what it’s called) but that doesnt mean she’s invincible (she will have a hard time learning this)

she makes friends and all that and they rib into her HARD for being a little rich girl who clealry has a savior complex. but also they do love holly and holly loves them. also their perspective of her actions does help her consider what would be the most effective way of dealing with things. her friends love her but they tell her that it’s obvious she’s only doing this cause she gets gratification out of it when the more successful way of helping them would to be throwing money into lobbying for better community care and safety nets. holly admittedly is not very good at smooth talking tho so her friends def help her on that

however she also makes enemies along the way with her meddling and in true jojo protag fashoin she and her friends get attacked and people Die. esp cause the police do not like her so no one is coming to help. holly is so depserate and begging anyone to jsut come help and it’s only then she realizes she can’t save everyone -- too many people are bleeding out around her and she only has two hands and a rudimentary understanding of hamon -- and she realizes how it’s indicative of how she was acting this whole time, how she as one person cannot save everyone from systemic abuse, and she, like her son will one day, shuts down. the only way she can conceptualize it is by blaming herself, if just so she has something to obsess over, if just so she has a way to guarantee herself that this will never, ever happen again

so she closes off, but not in the same way jotaro does -- she’s friendly in her new aloofness. she has a hard time connecting ever again (sadao is patient and kind when they meet later during college and she loves him, she loves him so much, but she’ll never fully open up to him precisely because of that reason and it breaks his heart). she goes joseph to lobby for better societal safety nets like her friends told her to do and she tries to smother an individual fighting spirit because she’s convinced being on the offense herself will lead to only death. she’s lost confidence in herself. she doesnt believe in her ability anymore <- this btw is why her stand is killing her. it’s a self-fulfilling prophecy. she believes she’s not strong enough, she DOESN’T WANT TO BE strong enough because she’s convinced she can only lead people to ruin. she HAS the will power to have a stand which is why she was even DEVELOPING IT in the FIRST PLACE but she just was too scared of what that meant. she wanted to believe she was passive so she smothered it and it started choking her in return

^ i think holly and her stand have a rough relationship at first because of this. esp cause like, once dio was defeated and holly saw how her stubbornly keeping to passivity just meant others would have to be assertive for her (and therefore dying where she thinks she shouldve), she accepts to an extent that she has will. she still doesnt trust it but she accepts she has it. so her stand grows in and it’s rocky. think a less explosive purple haze and fugo relationship. holly post part 3 works on accepting it and in turn herself, but it’s never gonna be perfect because her only son, her baby, cannot trust her (cause jotaro is jsut like holly in that he’s scared of himself and what he could do to his loved ones, so he cuts them off; however holly blames herself for this. literally snake eating its own tail ohh kujos). sadao helps where he can though

anyway umm yeah. i think that’s the gist.

#im posting this very late because i was sort of weary of how it came out and ended up messing w it until it was like 4am oops.#and i have plans tmrw so... oh well! i did my best and ill put it out while i can!#and i tried to make the scene match barnard's colors lol #finn's ocs #finn's art #i know i said id do more sillay stuff with the simpler screentone only style but i had a couple more of these in me #and this is the first piece im making thats like an actual part of the story too rather than just setting stuff for fun #i wanna write something to go with it too but for now ill just sort of briefly explain the context in the tags here:#barnard has a pretty bad case of OCD and his compulsions have made it difficult to make friends in the past #he was never outright bullied or anything but people just didnt really have the patience to deal with it #he has compulsions that include stuff like walking through doors until it feels right and needing things to be perfectly aligned #which in group settings has lead to people having to wait for him to finish his rituals and join them #they might find it tolerable at first but eventually they grow impatient and hes just... not invited to stuff anymore #but juno is a newer member of the guild who ends up frequenting the same library. hes also kinda a little weird #and they dont become fast friends or anything but just sort of naturally spend time in the same place #though they never plan meetups they eventually fall into a routine. around the same time theyd just both be at the library #and read next to each other. and maybe talk a bit. and eventually they end up walking back to the guildhall together #since theyre going to the same place after all. and juno always waits for barnard outside the door #eventually barnard asks if this bothers him. juno kinda just tells him 'of course it does' without any malice or anything. just a statement #barnard is surprised and apologizes and juno says not to. but the next day juno doesnt show up at the usual time.#barnard assumes hes committed somekinda more by bringing it up. he ends up staying there late reading to get his mind off it & not ruminate #but when he leaves juno is in fact still waiting for him down the hall (see pic) having collected a bunch of books literally abt ocd #he fell asleep bc barnard stayed later than expected. and hes an eepy guy generally. and also one very bad at expressing himself #but now barnard gets that juno's 'of course it [bothers me]' had the implication of 'but its worth it' which no friend has previously done.#and from the interaction juno was also able to understand that this isn't something barnard just does for the hell of it so. he studies.#and checks a bunch of stuff out because he thinks it could help his friend too (theres ocd workbooks and such- i remember working w them)#and thats the point where they became more ''friends'' than ''pleasant library acquaintances''#from there on they also do get into juno's problems. whole other bag of worms. but this specific scene is more about bernard from his pov #sorry about when i said briefly explain. i lied </3 #but compared to the whole sequence im picturing its brief so shhh

I have not but just at a glance it looks pretty compelling. Love that the protagonists name is titus groan, that’s a magnificent thing to be named..ill look into it

Also LOVELY question solo focused guitar stuff is kinda not my main fascination of course partly cause of the recent johnny obsession where he does more jangle/rhythm-as-lead work. But im a normal human being and I still enjoy a good solo. Though i think? The ones i enjoy tend to verge between riff/solo with repeated phrases

Im convinced that less is more even wrt guitar so its not surprising tbh i think a good solo should focus on 1) communication 2) brevity. I feel like overdoing a solo can quickly empty it of any feeling you intended to put in it - and esp like classic rock style soloing can quickly get cliche or tacky (see: oasis. No hate i like them fine but very little of their guitar work speaks to me)

Quick “typical” picks for hottest include staples like hotel california - works with the narrative they made, anticipation built throughout song deliberately FOR the solo (can ANY lyric or vocals adequately follow from ‘you can check out any time you like but can never leave’?? There must be a solo. Its imperative), the kind of smooth growl sound of it that makes you think of ‘The Beast’ that they talk about in the prev verses, length of it justifiable in my eyes by the sense of twists and turns in a maze, the gradual segue into a pattern and fadeout very wickedly suggesting the ‘can never leave’ endless hallways fading into more hallways vibe. You get the idea that the pattern could just keep going on and on.

And then my own subjective picks for hottest. the solo from stop me if you think you’ve heard this one before, partly because of how rare it is and the very concise communication of exactly the emotion of the rest of the song, didnt ever read this quote before today but johnny marr said he wanted it to sound like a solo by a punk guitarist whos trash at guitar so he did it on one string. For the poignancy. Which is bonkers because hes completely right and it works so well. That whine, that slight bitter taste, perfect late Smiths instrumentation. THE solo from a band that doesnt do solos. Saying: Stop me if you think that youve heard this one before. but you obviously havent. Kill yourself

In the same realm of “bad good” the one graham coxon does in coffee & tv which is rightfully one of blurs best songs its just so. And he attests he was just messing around but its a perfect fit with the mildly sardonic/fully earnest rest of the song. It feels tongue in cheek but simultaneously deeply sincere. I feel very much in the space of those foul distorted wails. Which is why blur will always be on top of oasis. (Honorary nod to classic of discordant solos while my guitar gently weeps by the beatles which is great but not making it into my top 5 because i like the guitar work in the rest of the song more than the solo bit). I think blur just understands the deep inherent value of getting a bit sillay (Woo hoo!) But also its completely serious and you need to take it completely seriously its so good. Just speaks to my personal tightrope of serious/not/serious/not

Okay and in terms of objectively technically jaw dropping solos i prefer the classic metal over rock so im gonna put. Can I play with madness by iron maiden here. Out of their many many blisteringly hot solos because when i tried to conjure up ‘hot solo’ in my mind i came up with that particular solo and had to work backwards to remember where it was from. It’s funny to call heavy metal guitar ‘lovely’ but thats exactly what the riffs on this song are. Theyve got that freezing hot mystique of the whole concept album. And then the solo itself moves everything up into teeth chattering sexiness. Cause the song is structured as an exchange - speaker to prophet, antagonising each other, the solo is the perfect climax - goes into that quick run of shrieks, then distinct phrases like a person speaking, drawing breaths, speaking again - and is the perfect length to get that idea across. Idk whether its adrian smith or dave murray but it’s brilliance

Ok thats four and i still feel like i have a lot more but you said “hottest” so right now the most fuckable in my opinion is actually another graham coxon one and its the one in my terracotta heart. Which i understand may subjectively only be rrreeally really really hot to me but 1) perfect anguished leadup to it. perfect continuation of the little riff he does during the verse/chorus before it. 2) subdued in tone, introspective almost, but has that flair..that groove….that hint of acerbic….You might say “ITS JUST THE SAME PHRASE SIX OR SO TIMES” YES IT IS and i need it INSIDE MEEEE

#more honorary mentions is the bit of lead in elliott smith’s junk bond trader that just forces your face to scrunch. but its more #‘devastating gasp for air inducing’ than ‘hot’ imo #and other maiden solos like in hallowed be thy name where the guitar and drums are in CRAZY conversation #and the stuff in afraid to shoot strangers where maiden got janick gers and he put down the filthiest maddest finger shredders.#jackson pollock of lead guitar #spray that solo in my face. WELLL this is a little sillay story ^_^ for spiderman I had an entire character arc because I was introduced to it by my friend who was a huge fan of mcu spidey in 2018 and for SOME reason I decided it was cringe to ask more abt spiderman (I lost all my whimsy in 2018-2019) so I would deny liking spiderman WHILE dropping the least subtle hints that I wanted her to keep telling me more abt spidey. And well that did nawt work out</3 BUT BOOM !! NOW I AM SILLY AND WHIMSICAL AND I CONSUME LOTS OF SPIDEY CONTENT AND LOOVE TO TALK ABT IT ^_^ !!

if I could go back in time and tell my 2018 self 1 thing it would be to get some freaking whimsy and be silly with ur love for mlp and spiderman and whatever the hell and consume more content by urself<3 I am much happier now since I've embraced the silly :3 ALSO PLOT TWIST that friend only ever liked mcu spidey and after she dropped that interest I became the spidey friend for all my friendgroups so ! How the tables turn ^_^ ! And that's about it for interesting stuff </3 everythang else was cuz I consumed it from a young age :3

OHH YIPPEEE BABYYY I LOOVE SPIDERMAN FOR SO SO MANY REASONS ^_^ ONE OF THE LOVELIEST IN MY EYES IS THE COMMUNITY!! ofc firstly it's about what the character represents :3 how everybady has the power to help others and make a great impact in their own communities and can also do so just by being themselves <33 The community of fans all really love this idea and it is SO NICEYS !!! because they will show their love for the character by BEING NICEYS !! BEING KIND TO THEMSELVES AND OTHERS !!! like u know those people who dress up as spiderman and go to events to cheer people up and maybe even raise money for charity :] that's so everythang to me cuz its about helping others.. making others happy anonymously and getting joy from seeing others smile.. bwuh..

Personally Spiderman inspires me to keep my whimsy strong and to be the most niceys I can be to others :3 and their stories (ESPECIALLY E-1048 THE PLAYSTATION GAMDS) always make me smile cuz the in game communities and people are so loving and caring... and I think thats why It's one of my longest standing hyperfixes bcoz spideys are so so lovely and niceys which makes me happy and inspires me to be like that to make others happy too :]

Plus the diversity of spider people is so dear to me bcoz.. That's literally the manifestation of everyone around the world being like. Ohh I can be a hero and help people !! Just like spida man !! And it keeps that idea going stronger too cuz yeah peter parker already makes me wanna be niceys and help others but when i saw SILK... babygirl i dont even know u that well but oh my gosh... u look like me... THAT is insane it really hammers home that idea :3 ditto with most spideys having wildly different backgrounds, which is also cool and interesting bcoz u get to learn abt other cultures and other peoples stories thru spidermen ^_^ the character gives me so much joy and curiosity for the world and for others it's insane!!! Peace and love in the world :D

ALSO I GOTTA MENTION THE ART AND CREATIVE IMPACT FROM THIS COMMUNITY LIKE !! HAVE U SEEEN SPIDERVERSE !! HAVE U SEEN SPIDERMAN PS4 AND PS5 ... HAVE U HEAARD THE SOUNDTRACKS FOR BOTH!! Literally some of the most inspiring and incredible and just soul lifting art has come out of this community and inspired the rest of the world to keep its whimsy strong :] seriously the soundtrack esp for miles morales focused stuff is insane.. makes me feel so happy and inspired everytime ^_^ BOOM I COULD GO ON BUT YAA THATS WHY SPIDERMAN STAYS CLOSE TO MY HEART FOREVERR AND INSPIRES ME!!

GONNA BE SO HONEST IM JUST A LITTLE GUY AND I LOVE EVERYTHING!! plus my hyperfixes are pretty niceys ,,, spidey, mlpfim, adventure time etc u really cannot go wrong ^_^ the only things I don't like abt them r the things purposely designed to make me dislike them. Like zephyr breeze and King of ooo, and even then it's cool cuz they do serve a purpose and tell important stories :3

Something I would have wanted to change abt mlpfim tho would be seeing chrysalis reform cuz honestly she was . Just being a mom :( she loved her hive and just needed to learn to accept that they really were healthier and happier when they evolved</3 Sawtooth waves on YouTube has an awesome video or two abt this and it's so real. Thorax was way too quick to try to convert all the changelings to adopt pony culture and i think chrysalis would have been a good mom and leader and an important piece of changeling culture if she reformed ^_^ bcoz all the other species have such cool cultures and changelings.. didn't really have any. Which makes sense but yknow !! A girl can dream :3

Overall I just feel like Hieronymus is incredibly patient and understanding when it comes to anyone and their problems; you included. As long as you communicate that there's something wrong, this man will do everything in his power to make sure you're not getting too overwhelmed

goddddddd i need to learn to drive i need to move i need to figure out how to take care of my Fucking finances and how im gonna afford our meds n hormones n other care / basic necessities i need to support everybody rn immediately . i need to be able to navigate the world for myself but im fucking stupid im nona levels of stupid <333

and i cant do any of this without disentangling myself from my current life in a major way. hafta quit my job, stop school (not complaining i hate both), save up and figure out how to get away in the least damaging way possible but shes never Not going to be mad at me about it i think . i don’t know what to do. i don’t know how many more years i have left in me going on like this

but. fuckinf. iunno, if i get my way we only need meals for 2 that ill gladly make. nd you need to drink your fuckinf wawer ok. i know it sucks but it is a requirement of being alive and ill give u anything u want after

like. i’ll work . id work several jobs ! i just hope i can find somewhere that isn’t Totally shit. somewhere close to home. maybe even somewhere with a lax / nonexistent dress code. i’m gonna figure it out for both of them idc about me but . i could do it. they deserve the world n more

i feel like i shld start picking up more shifts . or take commissions or smth. i have an adopts blog that is just barely in progress. if all i get out of life is getting them out of their households itd be worth it theyre so lovely i cherish them so fucking bad i just . want em to be safe n comfortable n mine to look out for

help how did you manage to do all that that is so cool im still in college the whole moving out thing almost seems near impossible at times ;_;

hey 🫂 i was thinking of some sillay response like "haha i dont know what I'm doing" but that seems like a lazy way out, so im gonna try and answer this as sincerely as i can

so the thing is YEAH moving out was a very scary and impossible-sounding prospect to me too, there was a point where i was just resigned to thinking that I'd never be able to manage it. and I was and am still scared but when it came down to it, the actual process of Moving Out ™ is just. booking tickets. figuring out how to pack and what to put in which bag. being on time for the train and the bus and making sure i dont misplace any luggage. talking to my new landlord and making decisions about the rent.

and individually all of those things are all stuff that we can do! Physically speaking, you can fold clothes, you can use some online service to get tickets, you can compare different places and rent, you can slap together a passable-looking resume based off online templates and submit it to so many jobs that statistically one of them just HAS to call you back. the big picture was and continues to be terrifying but it's ultimately made of a lot of little things that are absolutely possible to do.

and like, this isn't always a good thing. i actually made that post because I've been feeling really down lately, and I've been suffering from a bad case of Can't Do The Work I Need To Do disease and getting warnings for not meeting deadlines (this actually led me to kind of being fired from a job I had in March, lol) so I was feeling a bit like a failure. but I just kind of looked around and realized that i did end up doing the big Moving Out ™ thing that seemed so unimaginable a few months ago, and all those small things I did added up and I did make a lot of progress, but i was just so stuck surviving in the present that I didn't actually realize it until now.

and that might be you too! yes you're still in college but there may very well be a lot of progress you've made that you're just not looking at because youre stuck in "just survive to the next thing" mode. and even if this progress isn't tangible visible things like a resume or rent it can still be internal, maybe you got better at something emotionally, maybe you feel a bit better now than you did this time 2 years ago, etc.

also you will not believe the number of employers that will just fully accept "yeah I haven't completed my degree yet but I promise I can learn the job fast and try my best." Saying that worked a lot more times than I thought it would hbfkkfjjd.

so yeah i Don't really know what I'm doing in the grand scheme of things, sometimes i feel lost and very alone. but the ACT of doing a lot of big cool stuff never actually feels like a big deal when you're doing it, it just seems like a series of normal things that I know how to do. so it's okay if it feels impossible for you now, you don't have to really tackle all of it at once (I don't think anyone can), just keep doing small stuff and you'll keep looking back and realizing woah, I actually did a lot over the months. i hope this made some sense 💚
