i have less than 24 hours left before i have to go through one of the most stressful days of my life so. heres a list of my fav radiostatic fic recs in no particular order

clarification: by radiostatic i mean fics where vox is 100% not the dom in the relationship. most of these dont contain explicit sex though, and im not recommending any straight porn fics here because you can easily find those with a click and search through the bottom vox tag lmao

most of these fics are unfinished, so be warned that i will not take accountability if you get attached to these without them being finished properly. in fact ill just laugh at you because then we'll be suffering together

now, that aside- starting off strong with some of the more popular fics:

RHTVS / Radio Healed the Video Star by Aspiring_Forest_Witch

notes: LONG fucking fic. like this guys almost 700k words long fic. one of the best things ive ever read in my life though and it has a plotline thats frankly more engaging than the actual showing of hazbin on amazon. so. you know. if you have the time to read it Please do you wont regret it

Unraveling Emotions by Xaelei

notes: one of my favourite fics ever on god. started my brainrot for dad!husk, portrays one of the most scrumptious radiostatic dynamics and is generally so very well written that i might end up trying to recreate one of the scenes in comic form. genuinely in love with this fic and im so glad i can say i was the first comment on this fic because my God its such a treat to see new chapters drop for this. unfortunately i havent had the time to write out a detailed comment as of now but if someone wants to let the author know that im still in love with their fic and will continue supporting it until i drop dead go ahead for me

Safe with Me by rillyrillo

notes: the prequel and main fic of this series is human radiostatic, though the sequel is set in hell. it comes with gorgeous gorgeous art and frankly one of the most exhilirating endings ive ever had the pleasure of witnessing play out. i recommend you guys check out their other fics too, the art continues in them + their radiostatic is written wonderfully across all universes!

A Month of Rut by Vylad

notes: this fic is very self indulgent to me. i love the way radiostatic is written in this one because theyre very soft and sweet, but others may not prefer it if theyre looking for freak4freak radiostatic. if you just want something to indulge in and relax with at the end of a heavy day though this is my #1 rec. i read this sometimes when i find myself crying at night lmao

Down, Up, and Back Down by CowboyEnthusiast

notes: made me sob like a baby. 10/10 no notes whatsoever read it for yourself because you WILL not regret it. i genuinely am always at a loss for words whenever i reread this because it is among the most gutwrenching but beautiful and poetic works that ive ever read and i think it deserves some recognition

Mind the Gap by ZLynn

notes: again, to reiterate, i do very much dislike the abusive!staticmoth portrayal i see in a lot of fics. but in this one... it's written so perfectly, i can definitely see it actually happening. i enjoy the way that val does still seem to care about vox, albeit in his own twisted way that eventually breaks and fractures their love and trust, and its just. Ugh. So fucking good

notes: so from what i was able to piece together (everything flies over my head when im reading, forgive me for my low media literacy) this is an au set before the hotel where (in the first work) al and vox are in a qpr relationship. in the second work this evolves into a romantic relationship, and the exploration of their dynamic through this is just... Yeah. please read it its 100% worth your time and so underrated it hurts my heart

notes: this fic is one of the first radiostatic fics i read (the others being RHTVS and... i think i tried the 666 series, but it didnt appeal to me lol) and its actually just wonderful. i really love saezs's genderfluid vox and how supportive the other vees are of them <3 their portrayl of the characters puts a smile on my face whenever i reread their work

notes: i'll be fr dsmptsd hit me like a truck when i read the title but it is such an interesting debut! only at one chapter as of me making this post but the way the author wrote this is so engaging and it really makes me wonder what they have next in store for the fic

notes: wow no way we have the same name... anyway ahem. ill be completely honest this ones a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. this fic is a bit fragmented and short, so for people who click off fics when they see imperfect grammar this one may not be for you. however if you can look past that, it has an engaging storyline and quite the juicy concept :)

notes: gorgeous, gorgeous little human! radiostatic oneshot. i love the relationship that vox and al have here... the reasons why they both stayed away from each other even though theyre still so very clearly down bad for each other... anyway. i think about this one a lot and i still go back to reread it sometimes lol

notes: i didnt realize until i started making this list that this fic was also written by fangirl48.... go off queen keep feeding us (me). this one was a fic recommended to me initially by link nonny, and i can 100% vouch for how good it is. its got appletv interactions, radiostatic plus lucifer trying to navigate heaven, angels... basically everything needed for a very varied and well packed with flavour story

notes: okay im running out of brain juice at this point but. yeah this fic is soooo self indulgent to me. this ones another human au, with al as a serial killer and vox as the journalist trying to conduct interviews with him. its got SUCH a good dynamic between al and vox, i encourage you guys to check it out and give it a chance even if youre not really into human aus.

JUST HEAR ME OUT OKAY i swear im cooking) look, as someone with religious trauma deeper than i can properly express and the worlds fifteenth worst parental issues, the depiction of vox in this fic just really hits home. i really adore the exploration of voxs past and how the themes of religious guilt and cults are woven in so far- and it blends very seamlessly with their human au, despite the characters eccentricities

notes: the best way i can think of to describe this one is like... fake marriage but instead of fake marriage its. fake roommates??? the author probably puts it better than me tbh. its super interesting so far, i cant wait to see where this one is headed especially with how unique its premise is!

notes: this one is like those time regression manhwas. you know, the ones where the protag goes back in time and proceeds to try and avoid everyone who made their life miserable- only to fail because for some reason now they're paying attention to them more than they would have had they stayed the same person. its certainly very promising, though! i do love indulging in time regression stories, especially when the mc is someone i love like vox. i really cant wait to see which direction this one is headed in :)

notes: okay. so, uh. um. so- this one is in spanish. HOWEVER its premise (serial killer alastor meets television star (?? i think. its not quite clear) at a party hosted by rosie, moves into his neighborhood to keep an eye on the pretty prey) is just so unique i honestly think its worth the experience to pull out google translate and try living the machine translated life. really. give it a chance. also its got beautiful art to go along with, so.. you know. thats just a bonus!

notes: this fic deserves every single piece of praise its ever gotten because good lord. its SO good. i was not seeing the radiostatic twist come in, but it *is* mostly staticmoth. and also a/b/o but i mean. who *hasnt* indulged in a little bit of a/b/o before honestly

there are other fics that i personally like to indulge in, but i frankly wouldnt recommend to anyone else because they're either the kinds of fics that i myself can only bring myself to read after ive spent 8 hours at work crying into my pillow and need to look at something entertaining, or when im starved of content and cant be bothered to cook myself so i pull out the translator and start going at it. (technically i should know how to read french by now but. urgh. anywway..)

So if Wukong didn't know MK was playing superhero, why was he able to be caught by Spider Queen? The answer is clear. He took the younger cubs down to see the parade. That way, he could be closer to the fireworks, and his kids are entertained. He ended up being caught up in the initial attack and discovered MK playing hero while trying to evacuate the cubs away from the angry spider lady trying to turn people into spider zombies.

Wukong is not happy, but at this point there are far more important things to deal with. He orders MK to get his siblings somewhere safe while he handles Spider Queen. When MK protests, he tells him that MK's arachnophobia would only get in the way, and he is still Sun Wukong, the gods be damned Great Sage Equal To Heaven and the Monkey King. He isn't so far into his retirement that he can't put an upstart little princess in her place.

The plan backfires and Wukong gets captured by LBD and Spider Queen, of course, but hey, the Noodle Crew gets to meet MK's siblings! Sandy babysits them while they're in Heaven trying to get the stuff. All they know of it is that MK's mom was caught by the Spider Queen, they don't know yet exactly who his parent is. Not until much later when Wukong and DBK break out of their bonds and save them.

"Holy shit, is that Sun Wukong!?" ;Probably Tang

"Mom!" :MK

"MOM!?" :Literally eveyone

After all is said and dine Wukong makes good on his promise of a long talk, or rather lecture, and MK is grounded.

"I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU WOULD BE SO RECKLESS! Xiaotian, your father an I taught you better than this! What were you thinking!?"

"But when you were my age you were at war with Heaven, though!"

"And look what that got me! Thrown in a furnace and pinned under a mountain for 500 years! What you did was stupid and reckless. What if you'd gotten hurt!? Your still mortal, MK!"

Yesss. Wukong canonically adores New Years, and I def agree that love extends to the cubs too.

Wukong does a "surprise" visit to Megapolis to show the younger cubs the New Years Parade + check up on his eldest while MK is helping Pigsy with the foodtruck. Likely all in glamours, but MK 100% gets an embarassing visit from his mom at work. The Noodle shop gang tease him endlessly about it.

Then cue the Spider Queen's invasion, and Wukong giving MK the cubs to watch for the moment while he Kings Up. MK doesn't want his mom to go in his condition, but Wukong is still The Monkey King, and has no idea that his son has been superhero-ing for the past couple of months.

The gang all meet up on Sandy's airship, and the kiddos glamours all drop from stress. This is where the gang confirms (they had suspiscions) that MK is a disguised demon - they dont mind since thats sadly common in human-dominated cities. MK specifically being a monkey demon gets Tang asking questions though.

Red Son shows up and has a brain-fart mid-plan when he recognises who "Noodle Boy" actually is;

Red Son: "Xiaotian!? I haven't seen you since we were calves! This explains so much!"

MK, nervous sweating: "Not now dude! My mom got captured by the Spider Queen, and my dad is MIA right now."

Red Son: "Ah but of course. Seems we have the same predicament then. No fear, I have a plan to defeat the Spider Queen and save our respective parents."

Tang, panic-nerding: "MK, how do you know Red Son!?"

MK, flash of SWK-esque anger: "NOT NOW."

The gang get to the Celestial Realm and retrieve what they need to make the antidote - though not without attracting the attention of a certain hound that just realised her fave monkey is here.

MK, petting the dog: "I'm sorry Quan. I can't play right now! I'm saving the city."

Xiaotian Quan: (*sad whine!*)

Meanwhile at the Spider Mech; DBK has finally met his little brother/enemy once again. DBK in his anger, yells about Sun Wukong's "little-thief successor MK" ruining so many of his family's attempts at gaining power, and Wukong just blanks;

Wukong, scary parent voice: "Xiaotian has been doing what!?"

DBK: "The Little Thief is Xiaotian!?"

DBK would also shout at Wukong for putting himself in danger in his condition, but quiets when he learns that Macaque is missing. Tieshan had seemed worried since DBK got back (infact, maybe its why she decided to free him), and everyone knows that the shadow monkey wouldn't leave his mate without reason. When LBD arrives, DBK and Wukong immediate get a chill up their spines. They both know that she's somehow involved with Mac's disappearance... DBK has his super-saiyan moment of worried-anger and frees both himself and his xiandi so that they can find their reckless kids.

The Noodle Shop gang (+ Red Son and the cubs) bust on through with the spider-venom antidote and manage to subdue the Spider Queen with their combined forces.

Tang is about to fanboy at the sight of Sun Wukong in the flesh when MK and the cubs yell something that shatters his preconceptions.

MK & the cubs: "Mom!" "Mama!"

Noodle Shop Gang: "MOM?!?"

Wukong, swarmed by baby monkeys: "Thank Nuwa you're all ok!" (*hugs them all tight*)

Wukong: (*suddenly bonks MK on head with a sandal*)

Wukong: "And you! How dare you not tell me that you've been fighting demons this whole time! You told me you were only getting a job for mortal experience!"

MK: "But mom! I did get a job! I've been using my spare time trying to figure out what happened to dad!"

Wukong: "Which I specifically told you Not to do!! Your father has gotten himself tangled up with a very dangerous witch and I'm not letting you run into one of her traps!"

Noddle Shop Gang + DB fam: (*standing at a safe distance from the yelling*)

Tang, dizzy with excitement: "Anyone else feel like they're in a fantasy right now?"

Mei: "Hm, not really. I knew Xiaotian since we were pups. My grunkle Ao Lie is the same dragon-horse from the stories."

Tang: "Excuse me!?"

Erlang shows up on Earth asking Wukong tf just happened - his third eye showed him the chaos in the Celestial Realm and Lao Tzu is pissed for his missing pills and Furnace. But he immediately leaves when he sees tje carnage of a saved mortal city + Sun Wukong. (Erlang: "Ah. Say no more.")

school hours

A/N: this is a time skip fic, jack would be like 35 and reader is 34, with a 13 year old and a 6 year old.

summary: your teenage daughter gets into a fight and you and jack get into a small argument about the right punishment, but she has other plans.

jack signed as he pulled up in front of the school building getting out of his car and making his way into the office of the school.

jack went to the room in the office he was directed into opening the door to see his daughter sitting in a chair with her head down on her phone.

“hello mr. harlow please have a seat” as soon as jadore heard jacks name she picked her head up and placed her phone on the table “ok so, we are here because your daughter got into a altercation with another student uhm, the cameras show jadore did put her hands on the other girl first, but the other girl started it so, with that being said there both suspended jadore is suspended for 4 days and the other girl is suspended for a week” “jesus christ jadore, your lucky im here and not your mother.”

“i know” “also if jadore gets into another fight this year, she will be kicked off of any extracurricular team she may be on” “sounds fair to me, if thats all me and jadore should probably head back home so her mother could talk to her” jadore groaned and stood up “ yes sir thats all” “lets go jadore.”

jack and jadore walked out the school and back to the car, jadore got into the back seat while jack started driving.

“jadore, im not going to take your phone or ipad but if your mom does i wont stop her, what did that girl possibly say to you to make you put your hand on her??” jack started the car and pulled off.

“she said i only had friends because my mom is well known and my dad is jack harlow” “that cannot be the only reason you put your hands on her..” “she also said sarija looked like a horse and thats when i hit her…” jack signed “your mom might punish you so get ready.

jack pulled up at the house and when they walked in they found you sitting on the couch watching tv.

“Jadore Tovi Harlow, come here please” “yes ma’am” jadore hurriedly went over to you and placed her bad on the floor.

“why” “..at first she said the only reason people talk to me and the only reason i have friends is because your well known and because dad is jack harlow and went on to say how people use me, and at first i ignored her and walked away then she said sarija looked like a horse and thats when i hit her..” “did you win?” “thats what people are saying..” “you have a video?” “yea..” “let me see” “BABY!!” “huh??” “come here real quick!” “mk, jadore pull up the video!” “ok mom!”

jack brought you to the bedroom “baby..explain!” “what?” “why are you encouraging it?!” “im not! shes still in trouble but shes not in that much, she was defending herself and her little sister so im not that upset!” “if you don’t punish her i will!” “fine what should her punishment be?? im thinking like a week with no phone and no ipad, no going out with friends for about 2 weeks and no friends over for 2 weeks?” “how about all that but no phone for a month and no ipad for a week” “what no!” “why not??” “jack i remember getting my phone taken for months for defending myself it made me hate my parents and ect, i dont want her feeling the same way, 2 weeks without the phone is the most im going. the end.”

you walked out the room heading back to you daughter “i was kidding sweetheart i dont want to see the video, but me and you dad agreed you are in trouble baby, so no phone and no i pad for a week, no friends over and no going out with friends for 2 weeks understand?” “yes momma..” you grabbed her phone “go put your ipad in my room please and thank you. also go apologize to you daddy for fighting, if it was up to him you would be grounded for 2 months, go think of a longggg apology to say, give it to him tomorrow!” “ok.”

you went back to your bedroom and found jack kicked back onto the bed.

you went and climbed on too of his lap and gave him a few kisses on his neck “hi handsome” “what y/n” you huffed and pulled back so you were sitting straight up in him.

“jackk! please stop being mad with me!”

“im not mad” “you are.”

you started messing with jacks belt trying to get it off but jack just moved your hands out the way.

“baby!” “im not in the mood.” “mk..can we go shower together..?” “kiss” you bent down and gave him a kiss while he put his phone next to him and grabbed his hands full of your ass “mm” “lets go shower baby.”

jack picked you up and brought him to the bathroom.

jack placed you onto the bathroom countertop and turned around and started the shower water.

you pulled jack back to you and kissed him rough “mm jack” jack hands were rubbing up and down your waist while your hands were getting into his hair and around his neck.

jack pulled back once he heard a knock on the door.

“whats up pumpkin??” “do you guys want me to go get sarija??” “oh fuck” “no im about to go!” you quickly jumped off the sink and put on your shoes “you coming j?” “yea hold on.” jack put on his sandals and grabbed the keys and started to walk to the door.

“you wanna come jadore??” “nope” “ok”

once you and jack left jadore found herself going into you and jacks room and grabbing her phone, she knew she wouldn’t have long on her phone because sarijas school wasnt to far from the house but she wanted to take all the time she could get.

jadore ended up getting lost in time and didn’t hear the front door open, she was laughing on her phone until she heard the room door open “JADORE TOVI!” “yes daddy..?” “give me your phone NOW!” “yes sir..” jadore got off the bed and slowly walked to jack “now your not getting you phone or your ipad back for a month, you mom isn’t changing my mind either. go to your room.”

once you seen jadore walk out of your bedroom to find jack sitting on the bed strolling on his phone with jadores phone next to him.

“what happened?”

“she wanted to sneak her phone but doesn’t know how to be sneaky, i walked in to her ok tiktok”

“jesus..what did you say??”

“she’s definitely grounded for a month, no phone no ipad.”

“i guess.. im about to go back dinner go ask the girls what they want” “mk”

jack walked out the room and knocked on both the girls door and asked them what they wanted for dinner, they both said burgers so thats what you made.

“GIRLS DINNERS READY!! jack can you go get sarija and bring her down??” “of course”

jack went to grab sarija and came back with her on his hip and jadore next to him laughing.

“jadore i was thinking, good behavior gets your phone back faster, keep up the good grades, do your chores without us having to remind you, and you’ll get your phone back faster.”

jadore look excited and quickly started eating dinner.

jack sat sarija down and put her plate in front of her so she could eat.

“mommy!” “yes sweet girl??” “i full” “ok baby.”

you picked up sarija’s plate and started to wash it, once you were done you started to hold sarija’s hand and started walking upstairs “jack when your done can you wash you and jadore plate?” “sure baby.”

you jack and jadore ended up having a movie night because jadore was suspended anways, she didnt need to go to bed super early, but you made sure to let her know if her violent behavior kept going, her punishment would be wayyy worse.

Smoke & Ice Head cannons and facts

Small facts and characteristics that are cannon to my fic, Smoke & Ice. Please note I do not claim any of these to be cannon to the MK franchise!

Don't worry I won't do any woobifying.

Also note after finishing this, I should have named this Angst angst and more angst

Calla has actually never been in a relationship because she always felt responsible for the Mangrove and like their parents/caretaker/sibling, even when they were around her age. (#oldest daughter vibes)

Bi han grew up with a different side of his father compared to his siblings. I head cannon that he probably learned his assholery from his father when he was younger. But he grew as a person as he had more kids.

Thats also why I think Bi han has both his evident hate and some internalized hate for Smoke. Because he's jealous of how soft and easy he went on him. (#oldest son vibes). This coldness and quiet resentment are also why he is TERRIBLE with children. He will seriously treat them like whole ass adults.

Calla: Go on. Talk to him

Bi han: ...Wanna beer?

Calla: NO!

Smoke on the other hand, is amazing with children. He didn't have a lot of interactions or experience with children, but that didn't stop him from being really good at it. Kids are really good at vibe checks, they can tell.

Smoke tends to hyper analyze and feel guilty after being around the children however, because he feels like he's projecting his memories of his sister onto them.

Smoke despite having MAJOR trauma has a habit of minimalizing it and brushing it off. Which infuriates Kuai Liang to no end.

Kuai Liang is the middle child that acts like the eldest. He got a glimpse to the kind of man their father was, since he's not that much younger than Bi han. But he was one of the first things to inspire their father to grow as a person.

Despite being the middle child, and the brother Bi han hates the least. It's usually Smoke who is the mediator between the two brothers.

The three brothers have vastly different relationships with their parents.

Bi han was an absolute mama's boy. He was always closer to his mom since she was the only person he would accept kindness, love, and even pity from. The day she died was when he truly became the Bi han we all know today. He had a terrible relationship with his father. Due to being put through grueling training when he was younger, as well and having the Lin Kuei's greatness instilled in his mind. Only to watch his father change and abandon this ideology as he aged. To him, any attack to his values is an attack on him.

Kuai Liang on the other hand unfortunately suffered from middle child syndrome. Often not being prioritized due to his mother's focus on Bi han, as well as his father's priority on training Bi han to lead, and later favoritism of Tomas. This neglect is what made him easily the most independent of bunch in their youth. Though this did change after the loss of their mother, which left Bi han to be the most independent and cold.

Smoke, however, is a more complicated matter. While he is undoubtably a daddy's boy. Due to his lack of a present birth father growing up and being taken in by him. His relationship with their mother is difficult. In no way does he dislike or have any problems with her. He just can't bring himself to truly see her as his mom. After watching the death of his true mother and sister, Tomas inherited a number of mental issues that the Lin Kuei never truly bothered to address. The loss of his twin sister made him incredibly clingy and reliant on his brothers, but the loss of his mother left him feeling guilty any time he tried to bond with his adoptive one.

Johhny cage has MAJOR daddy issues and minor mommy issues. Based on character interactions from both MK11 & MK1, we can deduce that he was an asshole. His dad switched between emotionally abusive and absent all together.

While he absolutely adores and loves his mom for being the parent who stayed and raised him, it didn't change the fact that she gave mostly tough love, being a cop and a single mother of two. (His brother who is said to be an asshole though we don't know the extent)

Movies were his main escape from his shitty home life and social life. I decided to keep his characteristics from Mortal Kombat Cage Match, being that he was bullied as a kid. Both by classmates and his brother. As a result, he absolutely loathes bullies, and is fully down to beat the shit out of any adult or minor that bullies any future kids of his, nephews, nieces, or just friend's.

When recreating the timeline, Liu Kang had to decide what to do with the children of Kronica and whether or not to include them in it.

I don't have a canon decision of Shinnok, since we won't be focusing on that in the story, and it'll probably be explained in future games. But Cetrion is a different story.

Cetrion was made to be a caretaker of the earth realm and its life. However, after falling in love with a mortal, was granted permission by Liu Kang to live among them as a mortal.

Their children would eventually become the dryad and subsequentially the Hamadryad, which is why they do not exist in any other previous timelines. It is also why Cetrion was able to become mortal without abandoning her duties. By creating a clan tasked with her previous role.

to be honest though, if im gonna be more specific. A Woven Song started because I couldn't get one scene out of my head.

and its gonna be when Mk becomes Wukongs successor, He goes for his first day of training and brings macaque with him cause "hey monkey king, your my teacher so i thought you should meet my dad! he wanted to talk to you!"

and Mk just stands between them innocently oblivious to the fact that these two do know each other and Macaque 'just' wants to talk. thats it-

"starlight, your teacher and i are going to speak for a while. could you give us some privacy?" Macaque says, a soft smile spread across his face as he pats the top of Xiaotians fluffy head.

"o-oh uhm, yeah sure!" Mk says, jumping out from under Macaques hand to run away.

Wukongs heart drops and he contemplates running away as well.

"heeeeyyyy Mac-"

Macaques soft smile immediately drops into a sharp death glare, the aura around him shifting from calm and approachable to dark and deadly.

"L-listen I swear i didnt even know it was-!"

"YOUVE MET HIM BEFORE HOW THE FUCK DID YOU NOT KNOW?!?!?!?"

"I MET HIM AS A BABY, MACAQUE PLEASE I SWEAR-"

Macaque suddenly grabs Wukong by the collar of his shirt, immediately pulling him closer to Macaque, forcing them to lock eyes.

"HE HAS FOUR EARS!"

"HE WEARS GLAMOUR!"

"YOU HAVE GOLD VISION!"

"THATS RUDE?!" Wukong gasped.

"SINCE WHEN HAVE YOU CARED ABOUT THAT-"

Are Peaches and Macaque closer in this au where they are kinda into each other but don't know how to admit it yet?

And what happens when Mk finds out that Wukong made the "Mandatory Home Visit"?

in the modern mk au, macaque and reader have a bit of a...flirtation going on.

so, in this version, macaque took wukongs place on the journey because wukong was busy being a villain, and macaque actually seemed like he wanted to be a hero. he and reader's past incarnation were very good friends (though mac wanted to be more), and he's the one who helped reader escape wukong, hiding her away and allowing her to live peacefully among other humans until she died.

macaque thought that was the best thing to do for her at the time, and that she shouldn't be burdened with his feelings. however, seeing her in this new world, in a new form so similar to her last...macaque can't help but wonder if this is his second chance. she's not burdened by any great responsibility in this iteration, no grand quest she's destined to aid in.

he could...he could be with her this time.

there's nothing in the way, wukong hasn't been seen in two centuries, he's so much stronger now, there's a chance–he knows he can protect her this time.

and he makes a point to make reader feel safe around him. he treats her with a certain fond gentleness that he doesn't show anyone else. reader can't help but be fond of him in return, and she can appreciate his snark and sarcasm in a way the others of mk's group can't. however, they can't help but be a little appreciative of how reader has helped the normally distant hero macaque open up. he's better to all of them thanks to her.

macaque's a much kinder mentor in this au, too. that's not to say mk is getting off easy, but macaque definitely isn't as ruthless as wukong. mac sees wukong's crafty, cutthroat fighting style in the way mk fights. it's unnerving. he tries to be the "good cop" to mk, letting him take breaks to go be a kid and encouraging him in a way he's sure the monkey king won't.

as for the "mandatory home visit," it went about as well as you'd expect. wukong pressing mk for information about his stay in the mortal world while they spar on a mountain far from the city; how's it going, how are your friends, how're the mortals treating you, mhmm, cool, great, nice story bud. now, what about that girl who works with you at the noodle shop, what's her deal? she's nice, is she single, or–?

it's definitely an awkward conversation for mk. why does wukong care about his friend reader so much? yeah sure, mk kinda sees her like the mom he never had since she's the oldest female member of his friend group and she's really nice to him, but...

...but–thats not the point. why is his dad being so weird about her!? wukong, naturally, dodges any questions from mk about who reader is to him. so, seeing that his father is being a similar kind of weird about reader that his mentor is, he decides to ask macaque instead.

macaque is a little bit more forthcoming (but not by much). he does explain who reader is an incarnation of, however, giving the reason for wukongs interest in her as such. he also explains his *cough* friendship *cough* with reader's previous incarnation and how he swore he'd protect her from wukong. mk, not being able to make sense of all this vague-ness, decides to not think too hard about it.

Summary: you and rocket have been together for four years now. He decides to spend sometime with you after almost dying.

Pairing: Rocket x GN!reader

You were doing some chores around your house. You know like cleaning , organizing , staring at a wall. You decided to do some work after. You were helping rocket with plans for the schools and such for the kids. The kids look up to you as a mother. They even call you mother in their language. You loved those kids dearly and they loved you.

You start some 2000s music since that was your shit. You laid the plans out and a note book , poured a glass of scotch and got to work. A hour later the song Umbrella by Rihanna comes on and somehow you began to think about how you and rocket met. You both met in prison, you got in for stealing some crystals to power a weapon you had made. You never knew how rocket got in he never told you.

You two ended up as cell mates and boy did you guys argue at first. Well more of he yelled and pissed him off more because you kept calm , you never yelled back and you just made snarky comment the whole time just to piss him off more. You were use to this because you apart of the avengers for sometime and became like daughter to Tony, so much so he adopted you because why not. After a while you were laying on the top bunk one night and just started talking to rocket. You told him you knew he came from the High Evolutionary and that you went there to. You were a study to them, they found out you couldnt die . They wanted to see how many thing you could survive and boy was it alot. You knew Lylla as soon as she was made. You had comforted her that night and made her feel better. You were only six at the time. Now you had told Lylla that she should pick a name and I gave her a couple names. She had picked Lylla and you always thought it was a gorgeous name. You eventually got tooken away once they found out how dangerous you actually were.

SInce then you and rocket became good friends and evetually became apart of the guardians. You guys didnt get together until you guys got kidnapped by the ravengers. You knew them to after being one of them for 4 years. It was after you left terran after being an avenger for 10 years. Yondu was like your space dad and quill was like your big brother. You and rocket have been through a roller coaster of emotions since then.

Suddenly avril lavgine came on and you began to think of when you almost lost rocket. You were so scared. You wouldnt leave his side until you all had to go save rockets life. You had stayed with him when quill and nebula went to go to the High Evolutionarys headquarters on counter earth. When you almost lost him your whole being changed in a second. It made you realise how much rocket has impacted your life.

You were pulled from your thoughts when your door opened. You turned to see your loving racoon. You smiled at him. " Hi love, what are you doing here so early? you normally come at night." He smiled alittle sighing. "Can a guy not take break erey once in a while?" You just playfully rolled your eyes and continue to work on the plans. " whatever you say."

He looked at you for a min and you could feel his eyes burning into the back of your head. You turn back to look at him, making direct eye contact. " Rocket are you ok ? youre acting alittle weird." He sighed " ya im alright, just alittle out a it , I did just almost die a few weeks ago." You hummed not believing him. You didnt like to push too much knowing he will get mad. But you felt like prodding so you did. " Fair but I know thats not it. Now come on rocket you can tell me. I wont make fun of you I swear."

He sighed dropping his head alittle. He knows better than to try and ignore you when youre like this. " I just mmss you mk." You stared at him. "you what?" He sighed " I jus' missed you mk" you smiled at him. " aww rocket I missed you too" you could see his lips curl alittle.

Its not often rocket is like this. You decided to enjoy this moment. You got up and walked over to him. He didnt move which was a good sign. You kissed the top of his head and hugged him. You prepared for him to try and back away but he didnt. Instead he leaned into your touch and nuzzled his head into your neck. You smiled as you held him closer. You backed away and put your hands on his face. He nuzzled his head into your hand. You giggled alittle at his action. After a while of this he closed the space between you with a kiss, in which you happily returned.

"I love you y/n." he said gazing into your eyes. You smiled even more" I love you too rocket." You both went and laid on the couch holding eachother until you both fell asleep.

It wasnt often that these moments happen but when they do , its glorious.
