Bucky gazed at the being before him - winged, tall, Before the Storm iris eyes that mesmerized Bucky. He felt like eons stretched before him and the being, felt like the the stars collected into that one form, radiating like a celestial furnace.
He looked like an angel.
“Who are you?” whispered Bucky as light years stood between them, a wide expanse of unknown space made up of stardust and life.
The angel smiled.
“I can't tell you just yet. You'll see soon enough, though," said the angel with a wink, "Good luck with the experiment today."
Bucky wanted to ask how the angel knew about that, but Bucky woke up in a start before he could, drool pooling at his assistant engineer's desk.
"Come on, Buck," said Stevie as he somehow pulled Bucky up to his feet with his scrawny arms and brought him to the machine that was supposed to revolutionize dimension-hopping (at least, Howard believed it would), "Time to see if we're changing the world today."
Bucky began his prep work for the experiment that day, distantly wondering when he'd see that angel again, a name thrumming under his skin like his heartbeat, as if the angel had told him the name before he woke up -

(imagine an mc that doesn't show to anyone but now they want to show because it's the ro and they are comfortable doing so, my hearttt)
