Jaeyun:

Would be determined. Knows what he wants and knows how to get it

But he'd also be a gentleman, his lips approaching yours slowly a day giving you a chance to pull away if it's not what you want

Right before his lips touch yours he'd whisper “Can I?” and if you nod or say yes, his lips would be pressed to yours so fast

Definitely a good kisser. Seems like he'd have experience. The way his lips move gently against yours, not too aggressive but with a slight neediness to them, would just drive you insane and have you gripping his shirt

He wouldn't do it for too long, wanting to take things slow and make sure he doesn't overwhelm you. Would just smile and rub his thumbs against your red cheeks once you two pull away

Myungho:

Definitely a little shy. Probably trembling slightly and maybe stuttering a little as he approaches your face and asks for permission to keep going

One he gets that permission, his kiss would start slow, his hands sliding up to hold each side of your face as he melts against your lips

Would just love being able to feel the heat on your cheeks and your heartbeat, reassuring him that he's not the only one that was nervous and excited for this

Would be short and sweet, he's just so respectful :((( would just smile happily at you making you just die because he's so charming and precious

This is just the first kiss though. By the time you get to your second kiss he'd definitely have found his confidence, kissing you firmer and letting his hands sit on your waist or hips

Minho:

It'd come so naturally. You'd just be joking about something together while hanging out, or shoving each other playfully, giggling. Suddenly he'd pull you towards him and his lips would be on yours, still smiling as he kisses you

You'd just immediately melt into it, so comfortable that you wouldn't even hesitate before reciprocating

He'd wrap his arms comfortably around you and your hands would rest against his chest as his lips press softly to yours over and over

After pulling away, he'd tease the hell out of you, calling you cute from blushing so hard and kissing your red cheeks and nose

You'd just tease him back, saying that he's the one that couldn't hold back from kissing you and he's the one with a face redder than a chilli pepper. Your jokes would just leave both of you giggling again and your lips would find each other again not very long after

Yoonsung:

He'd definitely have taken you out on a super romantic dinner date. Either that or invited you over where he'd set up his own romantic dinner in his living room. Candles lit, soft music playing, rose petals. The set up would have you giggling from how cliche it is

You'd sit down, eat and just chat. Making jokes, him saying little cheesy pick up lines every now and then. You'd catch him looking lovingly at you when you giggle, making your heart race

He'd eventually ask you to dance, and it'd start slow but suddenly it'd be like a whole tango and he's dipping you, leaning over you and pressing his lips hard and clumsily to yours

It'd be quick but leave your lips tingling, staring up at him with stars in your eyes as he blushes a bit from the dramatic display

You'd sit back down and eat dessert but it's like the whole atmosphere between you would've changed. Suddenly you're both hyper, loud, chatty, and just so comfy and happy together

Haemin:

It'd definitely be while you two are on a romantic walk or something, strolling alone together through the cool evening breeze, his hand eventually creeping into yours and intertwining your fingers

He'd suddenly stop and turn to you, grabbing your other hand and pulling you against his chest. He'd slowly look down at your lips, making sure you noticed and you'd be quick to close your eyes, picking up the hint

He wouldn't waste any time placing the most perfect, soft, romantic kiss to your lips, being respectful about taking things slow but his lips still moving against yours in a way that showed you he was needy

He wouldn't go too far being out in public, but once you get back to the dorm he'd be kissing you again in more of a way he wanted to, whispering to you how he's loved you for so long, his hands on your waist

The only reason he'd stop is because another member would catch you two, making you embarrassed and making haemin secretly annoyed

Kyungmin:

He seems quite handsome and smooth on the outside, but one the inside he'd be so shy and nervous, almost forcing you to make a move because he simply wouldn't

His hands would be shaky but he'd be trying to play off his nervousness with charming words in his deep voice, the shake in his voice and red tint on his face giving away his true feelings

His breathing would get heavy as you lean closer, starting to close your eyes. He's so nervous because it's actually his first kiss, despite him seemingly like he'd be popular with the ladies

It'd be so perfectly clumsy, his lips slightly off centre to yours as his hands pat your arms, making you blush even harder

When he pulls away, he wouldn't be able to say anything at all, just stare, dazed. His brain would be in overdrive, trying to calm himself down while also screaming on the inside. When he finally snaps out of it, he'd bring your hand up to his lips, staring into your eyes as he kisses your knuckles and confesses

Yungyu:

Wouldn't even do it on purpose. You'd just be talking to him and he'd tease you and you'd pout. He'd think you're so cute, he'd just grab your face and start planting kissed all over it, his finally kiss landing on your lips and causing you to squeak in shock

He's not a bad kisser either. You'd think he must've watched lots of videos on how to kiss, your train of thought then wandering to the possibility of him wanting to kiss you for a while

When he finally pulls away, you're stunned and watch as he slowly realises what he just did. He'd be frantically apologising, trying to explain himself with a face so red you fear he might have a fever. It'd be so charming, so him

You'd grab him by the collar, pulling him down to you and kissing him again, his eyes going wide at your sudden bold action

When you pull away, he's the one that's dazed, but in the end you both ended up incredibly red and embarrassed, staring at each other in silence

Seungheon:

He's just a little guy with a little crush ☹️🤏His kiss would be so completely cute and innocent, soft and gentle, his hands shaking with nervousness and his whole face bright red

It'd be so sweet though, a kiss that makes you really feel so loved. Afterwards he'd be shy for a moment before proceeding to absolutely litter your face with kisses

He'd kiss your forehead, nose, cheeks, chin, jaw, all over your face. He'd just be so overwhelmed with his love for you, his heart beating in a way he's never felt before

I fear he'd also become quickly addicted, sneaking tiny pecks from you whenever he could.

You and all the members would just be all together. You'd be on the couch watching TV and suddenly he'd come up behind you, his arms around your shoulders, and start talking so lowly in your ear with his deep voice. He'd ask you about something trivial like what you want to eat before turning your face to give a peck to your lips. The members would just be so completely shocked. Their cute little maknae????? Yungyu

Yungyu is the type of soft/funny/fun boyfriend

He would put his head on your lap and ask you cutely to stroke his hair

He's a sucker for cuddles and hugs so he would give them even when you don’t ask for it. He's very cuddly and loves hanging on your shoulders

Since he and Seungheon work late, doing lyrics, and practicing their rapping, he'll manage to get some days off to spend it with you.

He'll be too shy to initiate a kiss (guess you will have to do that first)

He would make or buy you gifts on every single date and would cherish/save the gifts you give him. He loves giving gifts so get used to him spoiling you

He would hold and play with your hand/fingers in dates/public/home

Whenever you're studying, he'll make sure to bring you snacks/water, and will make sure you take some time off of your homework

He loves playing pranks and joking around but will later apologize when you get mad because he hates seeing his baby mad.

Cuddles (his favorite thing) and hugs are a must

Physical touch is his kind of language so if you aren't affectionate, get used to it

He'd be really down to cuddle you to sleep. He'd have you in his arms all night sharing body heat with you, sometimes even watching ur figure sound asleep with an inaudible smile until he falls asleep to the sight of his beauty

Whenever you guys go on a walk, he'll put one earphone in your ear and the other one in his ear with music playing

He doesn't do much aegyo but you often beg him to do aegyo. You whine and annoy him until he gives in and acts all cute for you and then cringe at himself

He's great at taking care of you while you're sick

He makes you playlists and gives you book recommendations.

He loves playing video games with you like Mario cart or Mario party, anything competitive. He loves to comfort you when he wins the game.

Forehead kisses are a must with him, he loves being little spoon and when you lay on his chest

Date: Cafe, amusements parks, and more. He would also do game nights. When he does that, he will bring you your favorite snacks and gets competitive

sometimes it felt like you were in a completely different world than yungyu. others called him bad, but you could hardly believe that. everything inside of you wanted to figure him out.

OMI NOTE this might be one of my favorite things i've written.. ever? i'm so soft for gyu, and his bad boy persona honestly takes the cake i don't know. this plot kind of reminds me of 'she fell first, but he fell harder.' also i might've snuck a ddlc reference in here w my multifandom ass..

immortality is a concept that defines eternal life, incapability of dying. and while in your world it didn’t exist, word about him never died. there were always rumors, people telling you that getting involved with him would ruin the perfect idea of yourself. despite this, it only intrigued you more.

school was alway the main source of gossip and other immature problems, half of it being completely untrue. word spread like wild fire, even when it didn’t make sense. so why was everyone so sure that lee yungyu was this bad influence? there were times when it was best to stay behind and not involve yourself in the uproar.

though you couldn’t help but stare, unable to figure him out. the corner of his mouth crinkling whenever he smiled, how he’d always do a peace sign when posing for photos. for the most part, maybe it was less about figuring him out, and more about just admiring the boy.

a stupid class crush wasn’t something you’d admit to, he never talked to you; and your closest friends convinced you that you must’ve been a lucky one.

but out of the corner of his eye, he always saw you staring. it wasn’t a secret to him that there was this odd curiosity peaking out of your skull. if anything, it was the final push to get him to talk to you.

it was an early morning, the trees outside were beginning to bloom this april. you always thought it was the prettiest time of the year, pink and white flowers littering the long branches. a lot of the time, arriving to classes early gave you a sense of responsibility.

the air was calm, and you could focus better on any assignments you might’ve missed the night before. there were a few stragglers here and there, making the classroom less empty on these occasions. yet you appreciated when it was just yourself.

today was no excuse. all of your things were sprawled out on your desk while you busied yourself in your notebooks. responding to questions that were left unanswered on your worksheets, planning out the rest of your day, and listening to the soft knocks on the door in front of you.

wait, knocks on the door in front of you?

the knob turned slowly as lee yungyu poked his head inside to search around. not a single teacher was in sight, though there was a cute girl sitting at one of the desks, staring at him wide eyed. his expression softened upon seeing you with all your stationary spread out.

he let himself in, letting the door quietly shut behind him. at first, you were confused why someone like him was in school at this hour. wasn’t being super late with some comedic timing apart of his whole brand? it was new, but you tried to act like you weren’t shocked.

resuming what you were originally doing, it was in your best attempt to ignore the boys presence. clicking the end of your pen, you continue to scribble nonsense on your paper. though it became almost impossible as you heard the sound of a chair dragging across the floor.

looking up from the desk, his dark eyes met yours. but in retrospect, he was nothing near intimidating up close. he sat himself down and smiled at you before he spoke.

“hi, you must be y/n, right?” your name flowed off his tongue perfectly, sending a small shiver down your spine.

“ah.. yes. you’re lee yungyu.” you respond shyly.

“oh? so you know me as well then.” yungyu smirked, crossing his arms atop the table.

“well, you’re nothing short of infamous in school.” you mention, making him quirk an eyebrow.

“word gets around too quickly here. the school year barely started.” he sighed, leaning back in his chair.

“there isn’t much else to expect from our classmates. i could only imagine what you’ve heard about me.”

“i’ve heard nothing but good things.” he told you, “you’re too innocent to get yourself into any trouble.”

“what’s that supposed to mean?” you question.

“nothing! i was just saying.”

“right..”

“you know, we’re not strangers anymore. so how about friends?” he proposes out of the blue.

“huh? why so suddenly?” you tilt your head like a lost puppy, only earning a light laugh from him.

“i’ve seen you staring at me. it only made me more curious about you.” he admits, making your heart drop to your feet, “it’s cute.”

“cute..?”

“i said what i said. so, friends?”

“okay, friends.” you agree hesitantly, tapping your fingers on the desk.

“great. how about you come with me to yoonsung hyung’s party in the woods tonight and hang out? heard it was gonna be pretty cool.” he asks.

“yoonsung? as in student council yoonsung?”

“that’s him.”

“i didn’t think he threw parties like that.” you mumble, thinking about the responsible boy.

“are we talking about the same yoonsung? he loves planning things, and i’d like to say we’re pretty close.” he tells you, picking up one of your pencils.

“that’s interesting then.” you comment, “i didn’t know the two of you were friends.”

“you must not have been stalking me hard enough then.” he jokes, drawing little stars on your notebook.

“hey!”

“i’m just teasing you. you don’t have to be so tense around me. though i am shocked you agreed to hang out with me.”

“i didn’t exactly agree to anything yet, yungyu.” you claim, erasing his stars.

“i know you’re going to say yes to me.” he looks at you intently, almost as if he’s trying to brainwash you into agreeing.

“maybe if i could get this work done by the end of the day.” you grumbled.

“boring. what are you working on anyways?” he picks up your paper to read the print, it was a rough draft of something you were writing.

“the writing homework we were assigned yesterday. i was just trying to finish it up but i haven’t liked what i’ve made so far.” you groan, snatching the paper out of his hands

“if you try so hard to make things perfect, you won’t make much progress. just write things down and fix it up later.”

“that.. that is actually pretty inspiring. aren’t you supposed to be some bad guy?”

“what did you want me to do? rip up your paper and tell you how shit of a job you were doing?”

“okay, i didn’t mean it like that–”

“y/n!” a voice called out to you, sounding very obviously distressed.

two girls appeared in the classroom, sliding the door open with ease upon seeing you with yungyu. they look almost scared for you, and after the short conversation you’ve had with your new friend, you see no reason as to why.

you glance back from your friends to him, and all he does is grin at you. ‘that’s my cue’ he mouths silently, barely peaking a whisper.

he sits up from his seat while the girls rush towards you. in the middle of this, he takes his hand and swipes your pencil pouch on the floor, watching as all the pastel highlighters and pen scatter on the floor.

“see you tonight, y/n.” he slings one of his backpack straps over his shoulder, leaving you with your friends.

“what were you doing hanging out with him?” one frowns, kneeling down to help pick up your things.

“if he was bothering you i can tell a teacher! he’s bad news..” another one whines, squeezing your cheeks to make sure you’re okay.

“i’m fine guys, don’t worry.” you mutter, sliding out of your chair to gather the remains of your materials on the floor.

“i hope you didn’t let him convince you to go to that party.”

“our y/nnie is too kind to turn someone down, but it’s for your own good..”

was all of this for your own good? their words were like knives, only deepening the cut of curiosity. everyone called him bad, but you could hardly believe that. the past thirty minutes were living proof that there was so much more to him.

regardless of their words, you felt determined to go with him to that party. there was a high chance it would help you figure out who he really was behind this twisted persona people made of him.

the forest was dark and empty, only a small beacon of light in the distance that you walked towards. there was no saying why you let a boy you had only met mere hours ago lead you through the towering trees.

leaves crunched below your hesitant feet, the only evidence that a living body has been through these depths. the grip yungyu had on your hand was almost enough to be scared of him, but it was mostly reassuring. he just didn’t want to lose sight of you.

as the party grew near, sparkling string lights weaved their way through the branches. they glistened in your eyes like stars. the chatter of people grew more audible, and before you knew it, the scene overwhelmed you.

food, drinks, a boom box, and a multitude of your classmates all gathered to have a fun time. your first party didn’t seem as scary as your friends drawn it out to be, and his presence didn’t make it any less intimidating.

“this looks fun, come on.” he pointed out, taking you farther into the crowd.

“there’s so many people here.” you add, making your way through the large group of party - goers.

“wouldn’t expect much less from yoonsung. he knows everybody.”

you replied with a nod, still holding onto his cold hand. there was a small spot amongst everyone in the middle, where you both stayed put.

people were dancing along to the music, similar to the way the flowers swayed against the wind in the spring time. suddenly, he unlaced his fingers from yours and placed them on his shoulders, snaking his own around your waist.

“do you dance?” he says quiet enough only for you to hear.

“ahm.. not really, i’ve never been good at it.”

“then follow my lead.”

“oh– okay!” you stammered, making him giggle at your obedience.

“eager, aren’t we?” he mentioned casually, “you know that i’m bad, yet you’re spending the night with me.”

“you’re the one that invited me out, stupid.” you pout, looking away from him.

“but you still couldn’t keep your eyes off of me, could you?” his hold around you tightened, pulling you closer to him. a blush crawled its way across your face.

“it wasn’t even like that!”

“what do you want from my world anyways? you’re just a good little girl.”

“and you’re supposed to be a bad little boy? that’s what you act like, but i don’t buy a second of it.” you argue playfully, “and even if you were like that, why do you want to hang out with me?”

“jeez, picking a fight with me already? i’m bad, but definitely not little.” he bites his tongue.

“not a fight, just trying to figure you out.” you admit, letting your tone turn slightly serious.

“what’s there to know when everything you’ve heard about me is probably true anyways?” he scoffs.

“that you make girls run away sobbing? that you graffitied the principals car over break? that you used to be some kind of bully?” you reply, “or maybe do you have feelings like everyone else and just don’t know how to handle them?”

“god, that got deep.” he laughed nervously, “you might be the realest person i’ve ever met.”

“you’re not so bad, you know.”

“not so bad? you barely even scraped the surface, it’s not something i have to try at. you on the other hand..”

“i’m not trying to be bad, yungyu. i’m hanging out with you because you’re my friend now, right?”

“from stalkers to friends to lovers, sounds like some weird fanfiction.” he teases.

“when are you gonna let that go?!” you grumble, letting your head fall forward into his chest.

“i’ll let it go whenever we get to that last part.”

“pfft.. what…?” you try to play it off.

removing your head from the spot on his chest, he’s already peering down at you; glancing from the plump of your lips back to your eyes. he moves a hand to place on your crown, gently forcing your head to tilt upwards to look at him.

and from all the things you’ve heard about yungyu, the one true thing was that eye contact with him could kill. it made you squirm in your spot against him, feeling a weird tension in your soul.

“you have a thing for me, it’s kind of obvious.”

“oh my god don’t say that out loud! it’s already weird that i’m here with you” you squeal, covering his mouth with your palm.

“so you’re not denying it?” his words are muffled.

“why do you always say such confusing things?! i don’t know if i like you yungyu, we’ve barely been talking for a full day.” you take your hand away with furrowed eyebrows.

it made you freeze up, a weird whirlwind of emotions floating throughout your stomach to make you sick. there weren’t enough synonyms for flustered that you could think of, but you didn’t pull away.

why didn’t you pull away?

the answer was that you couldn’t, after scrutinizing him for months, he was finally in front of you where you wanted him. and that made you realize how simple everything was, laid out perfectly after playing your cards right.

he was a person, and people are weird. they’re compelled to do crazy shit, and yungyu wasn’t an exception, you understood this.

when you didn’t flinch, nor wiggle in an endeavor to escape, he closed the small gap between you two. it was only a few seconds, not a single person nearby paying any attention. but the spark you felt was so real.

“wanna admit it now?” he smiles, pulling away from the heat of your lips.

“in your dreams, lee yungyu.”

Your voice came crackly through his phone speaker, but it couldn't hide the obvious exhaustion in your voice.

“If I randomly stop talking,” you started, being interrupted by a yawn that made him chuckle to himself, “...it’s because I fell asleep.”

He leant down towards his phone propped up on the vocal room keyboard.

“Just sleep now, don't force yourself to stay awake baby.” He responded, his voice soft and light, a very different tone than he was used to using with the guys. There was a reason he called you in the vocal room, after all; the teasing he'd face if they heard his voice while talking to you would be catastrophic.

He could almost hear the blush on your face through your voice, the response he was looking for after using that pet name. He smiled triumphantly to himself, his smirk-like smile revealing half his teeth.

“...N-no…I wanna stay up for you~” You whined sleepily, and he couldn't keep his heart from skipping. “You barely get free time…we need to use all the time we get to talk, Gyu…” He leaned back in his chair at the nickname, staring at the ceiling for a moment as he fought a blush creeping onto his cheeks.

“Yungyu…?” You muttered sleepily.

“Sorry,” he started, taking a breath and leaning closer to the phone again, “I spaced out.”

Your sleepy giggle that came over the line at his response had him leaning his head on the desk as heat overtook his whole face. Suddenly the small vocal room felt much too warm.

The seconds turned into minutes as he caught his breath, half waiting for you to speak to distract him from the thoughts of holding you in his arms that were infesting his mind.

“God…I love you…” he blurted out, as if the words themselves were too strong to be kept within his mind. When there was no response, he lifted his head again to whisper into the phone.

“...Baby…?” His own cheeks flared up that time, still not over his fluster only minutes ago. A small smile overtook his face when you didn't respond. “You asleep…?”

You didn't need to answer, your soft and slowed breathing barely audible through the phone speaker gave him enough of an answer.

He chuckled lightly, knowing that if one of the members were to walk in right now, the disgustingly smitten look on his face would earn him weeks of teasing.

“Sleep well…” he whispered in a sickeningly sweet tone knowing you wouldn't hear them, but he didn't care.

“I love you.”

SLEEPING UNDER THE SUN

it was the groups day off, meaning there was free range to do anything you guys pleased. when a beach day was recommended, it was happily agreed upon, therefore everyone prepared! when you and yungyu play too hard, you both sit down to relax; unknowing that sleep was creeping on the two of you.

PAIRING lee yungyu x fem!reader WC 2.1k TAGS best friends to lover trope. fluff. minor swearing. beach hangout. reader and gyu tease eachother like a lot. vague description of body. OMI NOTE this imagine has been something i've been dying to write because not only am i madly in love with yungyu, this is literally the scenario i've been dreaming about adhjb he is so precious. this isn't really a blurb but it's definitely not a super long thought out idea so it's not proofread. enjoy the sillies.

the melodic sound of waves washing upon the shore filled your ears. sand beneath your feet was hot, making you speed up slightly as you followed behind the group. everything took you by surprise, the calming atmosphere you weren’t used to, that was about to be completely ruined by the pandemonium of your friends.

at this point, you were unable to get a single word in before minho was running after seungheon and kyungmin was accidentally dropping items one by one while walking to the spot jaeyun chose. haemin followed closely behind, making sure to pick up everything the clumsy boy let fall. you could practically hear him rolling his eyes while kyung walked unknowingly.

all of their excitement was prominent, as it was their weekend off in awhile. it made your lips perk up into a smile, seeing them get to be kids again. however you weren’t one to talk, having been extremely busy as well.

the closer you got, the more you felt the salty breeze blowing through your hair. it covered up the summer heat seamlessly. setting your beach bag and cooler down on the towel that was set up, letting out a long sigh of relief after holding the heavy items.

“y/n ah are you excited?!” yungyu jumped up and down happily.

“i think i might die because i am very excited. i’ve been wanting to come to the beach forever!” you grin, giving off the same energy.

“okay because we better swim out as far as possible into the ocean before yoonsung ropes us into a sand castle competition.” he puts his hand over his eyes to block out sunlight, looking for his hyung that seemed to of disappeared.

“hey, what’s wrong with building sand castles? they’re fun!”

“um because he takes it way too seriously! if there aren’t moats and sand - people in his castle he starts whining like a baby.”

“good point. let’s go!” you grab his hand quickly and start booking it down the shore, oblivious to the bright shade of maroon that tinted yungyu’s cheeks. it was way too early to get sunburnt, so he couldn’t hide his blush.

“come back soon, we’re gonna prep the net for beach volleyball!” kyungmin says, making the both of you nod in return.

small puffs of sand kicked behind you while you ran, soon replaced by splashes of water. the ocean water was warm, rising from your knees to your chest the farther you went in.

once you were at a comfortable level where the currents were calm and the sun shone brightly above, you let yourself relax. small strands of seaweed swam under the water, tickling your legs

“this is the greatest ever.” you float around calmly.

“somehow i can hear the random passerbys shrieking about myungho’s abs from here.”

“jealous cause his abs are better than yours?” you wiggle your eyebrows.

“what’s that supposed to mean?!” he furrows his eyebrows.

“hehe i’m just kidding gyu, i like your abs.” you pause for a second, “wait– not in that way! i’m just saying they’re perfectly acceptable!”

“whhh–”

“um, anyways! do you think seungheon is going to come out with us anytime soon?” you question, looking back at the black haired boy.

“he’s probably being hassled by minho to put on sunscreen so i doubt he saw us come out.” yungyu shook his head still flustered, swimming to get closer next to you.

“speaking of sunscreen, you might need some. you look really red, gyu!” you frown.

“psh– what are you talking about i am totally not red, you’re seeing things.” he splashed some water in your direction to distract you.

“what was that for?!” you splash back, “keep this water on your side of the ocean.”

“bro there is water everywhere.”

“you know what i mean you idiot.”

“oh really? so if i got some of my water on you what would happen hmm?” he teased, scooping some water in his hand to throw at your face. while you failed to shield yourself, some of it got in your mouth.

“yungyu!” you cough, going after him as he started swimming to shore. “i’m a faster swimmer than you are!” he yelled behind him.

you tailed behind yungyu, letting the waves carry you faster towards him and the shore, immediately chasing him as soon as you were free from the ocean.

“yungyu you loser, get your ass back over here!” you shout.

“get away!”

catching up quickly, you tackle him down into the sand. you sat on top of him, playfully rubbing sand in his hair while he screams for help.

too caught up in the moment, you didn’t account how your position atop yungyu was oddly romantic; halfway through, you were teasing him out of embarassment rather than actual anger. you heard a voice call out to you, interrupting your innocent giggles.

“y/n! yungyu! you both have to stop making a scene oh my god..” jaeyun waves both of you back.

looking back at the boy beneath you, he’s wearing a sheepish smile. he was panting exhaustedly, letting his arms flop to his sides in defeat. the both of you shared a similar shy expression, now aware of the position you were in.

“ah– i’m sorry gyu i didn’t mean to get carried away..” you swing your leg back over his body and pull him up from the floor.

“no no no it’s okay! we were just teasing eachother it’s fine. giving in so easily?” he jokes, dipping his hand in a wave that washed up and running it through his hair in an attempt to get some sand out.

“never. you look silly with all those speckles in your hair, i’d say it was deserved.”

“whatever you say. let’s go see what hyung is up to.” he beams, switching in demeanor.

both of you get up from your spot on the sand and walk up to where everyone was hanging out. there were folding chairs set up alongside two umbrellas that were big enough to keep everyone in the shade.

everyone chat amongst themselves while minho chopped up fruit to share with the group. you sat next to yungyu on a towel and shared watermelon from a little tupperware.

“looks like you guys were having fun.” haemin commented in between bites.

“something of the sorts.” you respond, reaching over to grab another piece of the refreshing snack.

“hey! haemin she’s just mad that she swallowed a little bit of water.” yungyu tells him.

“sixty - six percent of the water in my body is now half salt water, thanks.” you roll your eyes.

“you two argue like a couple.” haemin mentions, before getting up to put his empty container back in the cooler.

like a couple? the though itself made butterflies dance around in your stomach; you quickly darted your gaze away from yungyu, too nervous to look and him and try not to imagine what it would be like to actually be together.

today was slightly off for you, having been made self aware of just how close you and him have been throughout the day. and to add onto it, the day had just begun.

some time passed before everyone grouped up to play some beach volleyball. it wasn’t a group hangout if they weren’t playing on some kind of bet. according to jaeyun, losing team would have to pitch in together to buy ice cream at the end of the day.

this was extremely in character, and you were not planning on losing against them. after the teams were separated, everyone played for awhile.

the game got quite intense, some casual shit talking between both groups. yungyu and jaeyun had that disgusted look on their faces whenever they were met with eachother, only separated by the measly net. this sight made you laugh, taking a mental photo.

after awhile, the scores were practically tied. in the middle of this, everyone decided to take a thirty minute break to re - energize with lunch that was packed earlier in the morning. it was an under statement to say that you were exhausted.

yungyu laid out on a towel that was sheltered by the umbrellas, mindlessly scrolling through his phone. you followed right behind him, letting yourself lay your head on his chest. he was your best friend, and these types of contact were normal in your friendship, however part of you swore you heard his heartbeat quicken.

“are you tired already?” he mumbled above you.

“a little. myungho’s hits are not to fuck with, remind me not to get in a fight with him like.. ever.”

“y/n, anyone here could fold you.”

“i’m too sleepy to fight back with you.” you sigh, letting your eyes close.

“i better not catch you falling asleep, stupid.” he complains sarcastically, while you let out a small ‘mhm’ in response.

at that point, he decides to let you be for a little while. you were the sleepiest person he’s ever known, having the ability to pass out anywhere and everywhere. the rest knew this, and most of the time paying no mind to it.

however, only a few minutes passed before your breathing measured to a steady pace, your face relaxed, and you didn’t feel your damp bathing suit clinging to your body anymore. yungyu glanced down a little and noticed this, poking at your cheek.

he stared at you, letting a smile play on his lips. it was easier to admire you when you weren’t going back and forth teasing eachother. maybe haemin was right, anyone who didn’t look twice would think there was some kind of romantic relationship between the two of you.

and just like you, that was something he hoped for. he just didn’t exactly knew how you felt yet. blissfully unaware, gyu wrapped his arm around you and pulled you closer to him, planting a soft kiss on your forehead. his hand lay in the dip of your waist, fingers slightly ghosting over your elbow as you hugged yourself.

“god i wish you knew how i felt about you.” he said, the only words that left his lips before he let his eyes shut, sleep overtaking him as well.

the feeling of skin against yours became more noticeable as you came out of your sleep spell. feeling groggy, your eyes blink open slowly, immediately being met with the boy you were laying on.

“gyu?!” you shot up, looking around you to see the rest of the boys off playing by the shore, then looking back at him.

“good morning to you too.” yungyu yawned.

“did i seriously fall asleep on you? how long was i out?”

“we weren’t asleep for that long, don’t worry. probably fourty - five minutes at most. “ he checked his phone, confirming his suspicions.

“shit, everyone is probably waiting for us to start the game.” you groan, rubbing your eyes.

“hey, it’s our day to relax. they probably don’t care and it’s only four thirty.” he mutters, using his arm still snaked around your waist to pull you closer to him.

“ah– when did you get so bold?” you squeak out.

“when i saw how cute you looked cuddled up against me.” he confesses casually.

“what.”

“what?”

“dude you can’t just say that! oh my god my heart..” you cover your face with your hands, embarrassed.

“scared you’re gonna fall in love with me?” he makes a gap between your middle and pointer finger to see your eye.

“i can’t be very scared for something that already happened.” you stutter.

“what.”

“what?”

“okay now you’re doing it! what the hell?!” he whines, removing your hands from your face.

“you started it first you idiot.” you pout, furrowing your eyebrows slightly.

“i’m just trying to get my point across! i was attempting to be suave with it.” he bites down on his bottom lip.

“and what exactly is your point?”

“that i like you, and best friends don’t exactly do the things that we do.” his voice gets quiet, the atmosphere suddenly feeling heavy.

“yungyu..”

“i’m not trying to ruin our relationship or anything but–”

“i like you too, yungyu.” you interrupted him.

“i think everyone kinda sorta knew that.” seungheon appeared behind both of you guys, followed by minho.

the two of you jumped, looking in their direction. they both started laughing at both of your blushing faces.

“way to interrupt a moment little bro.” yungyu stated before chucking a seashell in his direction.

“you’re growing up too fast you guys, you better not be kissing all the time from now on!” minho lectures.

“oh? like this?” you grab yungyu’s face, leaving a kiss on his lips to poke fun at minho.

yungyu’s eyes go wide, shocked at the sudden contact between the two of you. his fingers move over his lips, still feeling yours ghosting over them.

“gross, not in front of us!” seungheon pleaded, minho covering his eyes in disgust. both of them walked away teasingly, leaving you and gyu alone.

“boyfriend has a nice ring to it, yeah?” you think.

“better than best friend.”
