Operation: Z.E.R.O. (2006) 7.5/10
I would not recommend this movie to my friends. i would not rewatch this movie.
The fact that there were already established KND protocols means that it preceded the current KND. But where is the true origin? They can really make a prequel of Number Zero and grandfather's first battle.
This means Nigel and the Delightful kids are somewhat cousins. I can't believe grandfather took over the world so quickly.
Poor sector z. Poor Wally's first kiss.
I like the kangaroo weapon. I love Nigel's fangirling over his dad and sector Z so immediately. Sector Z does seem pretty cool. Dad is lovely as dad and as number zero. I like the fighting of the kids who were one of the last to become old. It's pretty cool that the treehouse has this kinda history.

Title: Preysight: Son of darkness (2023) Author: Tod Townsend Vote: 7.5/10 Short story that manages to show the suffering of a nightlord before the suicidal desire of his primarch. It doesn't shine with particular originality but few writings set in the Warhammer 40k universe have this quality. On the other hand it has a good stylistic expressiveness.

Tsunami warnings issued following series of earthquakes off Japan’s west coast
Tumblr media
JAPAN — Tsunami warnings have been issued in Japan following a series of earthquakes on Monday.
The Japan Meteorological Agency reported quakes off the coast of Ishikawa and nearby prefectures shortly after 4 p.m. local time, the Associated Press reported.
One of them was a preliminary 7.6, according to both the AP and CBS News.
Japan has issued a tsunami warning for Ishikawa and lower-level tsunami warnings or advisories for the rest of the western coast of Japan’s main island of Honshu.
CNN is also reporting that Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary, Yoshimasa Hayashi, has urged people living in areas under tsunami warnings in Japan to evacuate to higher ground.
Footage from Japanese public broadcaster NHK has shown cameras shaking vigorously as waves slammed into the coastline when the quake hit Ishikawa prefecture.

Balls of Fury (2007)
Tumblr media
Movie #1,102 • WELL, HONG? CH. 6
Tumblr media
Written by The State’s Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant (and directed by the latter), the sixth film in my alphabetical run-through of the entire James Hong filmography was a pleasant surprise. A welcome palette cleanser after experiencing 33% of Vin Diesel’s Strays for sure. This came out at the height of the wacky, over-the-top comedy revival of the 00s and I remember being wholly uninterested at the time, unaware of its connection to The State.
Even its more cringey elements (Christopher Walken doing full-on Asian Face and some stilted homophobic bits) work given the sensibilities of that elite comic crew. It also features an A+ cast in both lead (Walken, George Lopez, etc.) and supporting roles (Hong, Robert Patrick, Aisha Tyler, Thomas Lennon, Diedrich Bader, Terry Crews, Patton Oswalt, David Koechner, etc.). Sure, it’s dumber than fuck, but the performances are solid and the action moves at a nice pace. If you like The State or Reno 911, chances are you’ll like this too.
And while Walken as the lead villain made up to look like a freakish Asian crime boss is culturally insensitive, this is still an insane and, dare I say, underrated entry in his esteemed career…
SCORE: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️½

Bambi II (2006) dir. Brian Pimental. 7.5/10
I wouldn't recommend this movie to my friends. I wouldn't rewatch this movie.
I want this owl to meet the owl who found Tod a home in Fox and the Hound. Just like with the Fox and the Hound 2, this is too modern of animation for my liking, but we're all still cute.
The father figure we didn't know that Bambi needed.
Thumper's sisters loving him is so cute. Dad and son enjoying each other is so beautiful. This is a great sequel. I like the addition of it.
Lmao at the possum things acting dead.

So in the executive Letter of Q1 we got the name of the next story content.
"Desperate Defiance"
I think this is primarily linked to Sahar and her dwindeling loyality for Heta if she ever was loyal to begin with.
I really wanted to connect that titel to the Hutts or Hutta but can't really find anything that would support my theory.
To our knowledge the Hutts are on their way to make themselves an axis in the galaxy yet again, but without an alliance or a treaty to defy.
I wouldn't put it past them to get into buisness with The Hidden Chain to then go back on their agreement and sell them out to either the Republic or the Empire though. The adjective "desperate" doesn't fit though, so my bet is still Sahar making moves to further distance her from the Mandos.
I really hope we actually get to see some Hutt action again. Those sleemos sure have been missing for a while.

Title: The Bicentennial Man (1976) Author: Isaac Asimov Vote: 7.5/10 Really nice short story about a robot who wants to be human. In relatively few pages we span six human generations and know the growing desire of a robot to be considered as a human being. The robot creates works of art, studies and perfects itself and yet it is death that makes it truly human. The ultimate goal that man can hope to achieve.

Pokémon Violet
Game review #5 of the year.
Tears of the Pokémon Region Nintendo and Game Freak’s Pocket Monsters, known as Pokémon outside Japan and the brainchild of developer Satoshi Tajiri, has steadily evolved from its roots on the Game Boy system, each new generation attracting multitudes of players, and I’ll admit I didn’t get into the series until it reached the Nintendo DS. Despite being on the autism spectrum like the series…

Hiruko the Goblin (1991)
Tumblr media
Movie #1,091 • WATCHLIST WEDNESDAY
Some strange synergy happening here on WATCHLIST WEDNESDAY folks. W.W., for those 'not in the know', is when I hit shuffle on my Letterboxd watchlist* and pick the first two flicks at random to watch. Well, today offered up this wacky Japanese horror movie about a baby-sized spider goblin with an adult human head, as well as a 1960s black-and-white "horror" film called Spider Baby. Ain't that something? (You don't have to answer that. I know it isn't.)
Hiruko the Goblin was the much more enjoyable watch. The follow-up to Shinya Tsukamoto's beloved classic Tetsuo: The Iron Man (1989) had me wishing I had started there, as I still haven't seen that movie (or any of his other work). I plan to correct this with a full-on Director Focus of Tsukamoto's filmography, hopefully in 2024.
There's not much going on plot-wise. This is pretty much strictly a vehicle for this...
Tumblr media
and..

Tumblr media
and the movie ends with the human spirits being freed and turning into giant sperm comets that float into outer space...
Tumblr media
and that's plenty good enough for me.

*speaking of Litterboxd. I am not gonna be posting any info alongside what I watch on there any longer. It's just too much of a chore. I love the concept and design of the site but I don't get much out of it at the moment.
