Alternate Ending of 31 October, 1981
@jilytoberfest I wanted to at least write the last prompt of the 31 days of Jily ( Hopefully I can finish the others, even though the month will be over)

31 October, 1981
Late night Visitor
Darkness surrounded the house almost as if death was going to knock at the door of Godric’s Hollow, the sky above quickly became a ghastly gray as the cloaked figure stood in front of the home, his red eyes a deep contrast to the darkness around him. His overly dry and thin lips, formed a sneer on his face, his yellow teeth almost glowing in the night. As he imagines all the possible ways, he could make the occupants from the home suffer before he disposes of each and every one of them. He wants to prove to all the Wizarding World that no one will defy Lord Voldemort. Pathetic fools, all wrapped up in their own world, with no clue of how easily he could take away everything with just a simple flick on a wand.
Soon they will know that there’s consequences for their actions. A few minutes tick by, before he decides to make his way down the path up towards the door. When he reaches it, he lifts up a thinly pale hand, and proceeds to claw at the door so hard that streaks of his blood trail behind. With one last sneer at the bloody mark that he left on the door, he slips out his wand and prepares himself.
It’s time.
He will be the only one to leave this pathetic excuse of a home. When that happens, he will once and for all have the complete power to do as he pleases, and to dispose of the weak minded all throughout the Wizarding World and eradicate any filth that has the audacity to use a wand.
The darkness will rise and forever cast a shadow all over, as his reign of terror reaches new heights for all who dare defy him.
It’s time to finish what he came here to do.
Eliminate. Them. All.
To bring purity back into the Wizarding World, once and for all.
Not wanting to waste another second, Lord Voldemort flicks his wand straight at the center of the door, blasting it straight away and straight across the room. He laughs at the fearful shouts of that blood traitor James Potter, calling out to that filthy Mudblood of his, “Lily, take him and go-”
What a fool.There’s nowhere to hide, nowhere to run… Why couldn’t they understand that no one defies, Lord Voldemort!
Moments Before the Chaos
The house was filled with music and the beautiful giggles of a sweet boy, whose eyes could rival the color of a freshly pickled toad. Nothing could take Lily away from this precious moment between her and her child. Not even the foul smell of burnt food that wafted from the kitchen, a result of her husband’s lack of culinary skill, was strong enough to take her gaze away from her baby.
“Umm, Lils… I hope you don’t mind that dinner is a little bit overcooked,” she heard her husband call out from the kitchen. Shaking her head, “it’s all right love, no worries,” she replied with a chuckle, before adding, "I thought, you said, that you were a master at cooking a savory curry?” Lily said in a mock whisper, while making a goofy face at her little one.
“Oi! I heard that!”
“Good, that means you have great hearing,” Lily chuckled, as she rolled her eyes before turning her attention back at her little one.
“Oh sweetie, I love you so much.’ Lily smiled before caressing his little chubby cheeks. The warmth in the home felt almost surreal, since the past few days have all been the same. So gloomy and dark, that it's hard to distinguish night from day, as it all seemed the same.
Even though the outside was dark, Lily was hopeful that the war will soon end, and then she will be able to take her little baby out to the park and stroll with her husband by her side. There’s absolutely nothing in this world that she wants more than being with them, being able to love freely out in the open without fear of being targeted because of who they are. There’s still a chance to win this war, she knows it. There’s not a dolphin, her mind that the world will be a much safer place, she will not let anything happen to her family.
Lily thought for a second, she looked into those deep green eyes. She runs fingers through the soft black hair, laughing at how it stands up in an odd angle. “We might have to get some Sleekeazy’s, for that hair of yours,” she said before kissing trying to give him a little kiss on the cheek, which was a failed attempt since he kept wiggling and giggling at her.
“Might, want to try some on your-”
Before she could hear what James was going to say, they were interrupted by a loud banging. She turned quickly and saw that the door blasted off at the hinges and flew straight across the room. She heard a loud banging sound as the door slammed straight into the wall, leaving, keeping hole in its wake.
“Lily, take our son and go! He’s here! Go! Run! I’ll hold him off!” James, and shouted with such rawness in his voice, that Lily almost didn’t recognize him. Trying to calm the cries from the baby in her arms, as she tries to hold back her tears as she runs towards the hidden room, before entering, she looked over her shoulder, and saw the cloaked figure enter her home.
How could this happen? How could Peter betray them like this, and how could they be so foolish as to not see the signs of him joining the death eaters? She thought to herself, I should try to calm down, while trying to shake with fear that was coursing through her body, lipid her lip, not caring that she drew blood. The loud firing of spells that could be heard throughout the house, then suddenly it was quiet.
She tried to stay calm she remained seated on the floor, in the hidden room. The tears slowly slipped down her cheeks as her heart ached, as she heard a piercing scream of, “Avada Kedavra!” It shook her to the core as her biggest fear became a reality, she had lost the one that she had ever loved.
“No…no,” she whispered, as tears began to pour down her face, as she imagined the man she loves, lifeless on the cold hard floor. The sound of heavy footsteps drew near, she brought up her wand and pointed straight the killing curse on the tip of your tongue as she waited with bated breath as spells from the hidden room were slowly being removed.
The door slowly opened, the bright light of the whole, showing through, her heart was beating fast, and her body shook as she prepared herself. “Avada Ked-” her words were cut short once she realized who it was standing in front of her.
It wasn’t Voldemort, it was.....

Hours of study, hours of practice.
Transfiguration, animation, undetectable shield charms, ancient magicks found within the walls of the Potter library.
They told no one their plan.
Every night they return to the reinforced corner of their lounge. Hidden beneath the cloak of invisibility, James trusts his father's words, ‘Powerful beyond measure, your life can depend on it.’
Death would overlook them; he is no different.
Arriving as they knew he would, lightning-quick green flashes, ‘James’ crumples, Voldemort ascends the stairs, the house shudders, cackling laughter surrounds them.
“It is done, burn it down Young Worm.”
With haste, they run.

Jilytober prompt 28: "Tell me a story."
Thank you for the prompts, @jilytoberfest!
The mourners have made the journey back to Potter Manor for the funeral reception. Sirius was the first to leave, having thrown himself into the preparations to occupy his time and keep him from feeling.
The mourners have left the graveside, but Lily and James remain, solemnly staring at the mounds of earth charmed with ever-blooming flowers of the deepest purples and brightest whites. Their hands are clasped tight, neither wanting let go after the darkness and sickness and devastation of the last few weeks. As much as Lily's heart breaks for James, she selfishly allows a moment for it to break for herself as well. After the death of her own parents in seventh year, Fleamont and Euphemia had treated her as their own. She had gladly accepted their love, and it brightened the dark hole left behind by her own parents' death.
Which made this darkness seem so much more unbearable. There would be no more light like theirs.
Turning to James, she searches his face for a hint of his thoughts. She'd been through this before, she can guide him through this pain.
Lily brings their entwined hands to her lips and places a small kiss on the back of his, her other hand resting soundly on her growing belly. This motion seems to jolt him from somewhere in his mind and he turns towards her, fixing her with his tired, red-rimmed eyes.
"What do you want to do?" Her voice is soft, nearly a whisper, even though there's no one around but them.
James shakes his head and she sees the tears threaten to spill again. She pulls him close and wraps her arms around him, as he's done for her so many times, and guides his head to rest on her shoulder. "We'll stay as long as you want," she assures him softly.
She feels the dampness spread on her shoulder, makes soothing patterns on his back as the occasional hiccup interrupts his anguish. Soon, he's standing up, taking his glasses off to wipe the tears from his eyes and focus on a point in the distance.
"I've realized something these last few days, going through the house." His voice is raw and strained, as if trying to hold back another flood of emotions. "There are so many memories in this house. So many memories with them"—his voice breaks—"that only I know." He clears his throat. "There's no one else who knows. No one else to reminisce with about all the trips we took before I went to Hogwarts, or the time when I was five and a niffler found its way into the house and mum spent weeks trying to track it down." He laughs a little at the memory, but the smile doesn't reach his eyes.
Lily runs a hand down his arm, encouraging him to finish.
"It's only me." James pauses and looks down at his shoes, his face crumbling. "And when I'm gone, they're gone for good."
Lily's heart shatters in that moment, watching her husband mourn the eventual loss of the memory of his parents. She feels helpless—though estranged from Petunia, there's still that shared connection exists. The idea that someone else out there knows them, remembers all the memories. James' utter isolation in mourning is a thought that never occurred to her.
She steps in front of him and grabs both of his hands, stepping as close as her bump will allow. "Tell me a story." Her voice comes out half-plea, half-command.
"What?"
"Tell me a story. Tell me all the stories." She kisses his hands again and feels the tears in her eyes gather as she looks at how completely broken he looks. Her desperation to help increases. "I know it'll never be the same as being there, but let me know the memories too. Talk about them. To me, to Sirius"—she looks down at the bump between them, and back up. "Tell them to me, and we'll tell them to Harry, too." She drops his hands and cups his face, gently pulling it towards her for a kiss.
"Your parents won't die with you. I promise, James."
Another sob wracks through him and they pull each other tighter, still alone together at the graveside.

Jily Microfic: An Unexpected Ally

Summary: When James gets outed as trans by Snape, everyone starts treating him differently. Everyone except Sirius, Remus, and Peter, of course -- and, to his surprise...Lily Evans.
Written in celebration of Trans Day of Visibility <3
James would never have expected Lily Evans to be one of his greatest allies.
When Severus Snape spread “the truth about who James Potter really is” across the entire Hogwarts student body, James had at least been sure that his fellow Marauders would have his back. The jeers and threats he received from Slytherins, unsurprising and unoriginal, hardly broke the surface of his thick skin, but the other boys hexed every single one of them all the same. When Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws he’d never even spoken to before started watching him more closely, their eyes invariably falling to his chest in search of something they wouldn’t find, Sirius would step forward menacingly and growl, “What’re you looking at?” while Remus or Peter gave James’s shoulder a sympathetic squeeze. The three of them could see his veneer slipping, no matter how much James tried to hide it. What broke him, though, were his teammate’s reactions. The two other boys on the team besides himself and Sirius, both seventh years, who had only ever treated James as an equal now hardly made eye contact with him. Meanwhile, the girls on the team seemed confused, somehow, about what they ought to call him or how to refer to him, as though his name and pronouns hadn’t been the same as long as they’d known him.
It seemed no one knew what to do with him anymore, no one but Sirius, Remus, and Peter – and, for some reason, Lily Evans.
Returning after a particularly frustrating practice, James collapsed onto one of the couches, ignoring how his wet uniform stuck to his skin. He didn’t have the energy to make it up to his dorm and into the shower.
Sirius came to sit beside him, his uniform much drier than James’s. “So we’re just taking a quick five minute break before facing the stairs, then?” he asked, amusement in his tone.
“I can’t move, Pads,” James groaned.
“Yeah, running an extra twenty laps will do that to you.”
“I just couldn’t stand the thought of going back into the locker room with everyone,” he said quietly. James could sense the way Sirius’s shoulders fell without having to look at him.
“Want me to kill ‘em? You know I’ll gladly commit fratricide for you.”
James snorted. “No. I can deal with their rubbish if it means we win the house cup.”
“Godric Gryffindor,” a voice cursed from behind them, and suddenly the unmistakable fiery head of Lily Evans appeared beside him. “Potter, you smell absolutely foul. Is there a reason you’re down here instead of showering? Or is it your goal to torment the entire common room?”
James blinked up at her, briefly speechless. It had been nearly two weeks since anyone other than Sirius, Remus, or Peter had spoken to him with any amount of normalcy. “Er–”
“Actually, nevermind – as your Prefect, I insist you go take a shower.”
This snapped James out of his confusion, the synapses in his brain brought back to life by the familiarity of their bickering. One of his eyebrows lifted and he snorted flippantly. “I don’t think forcing someone to shower is within your purview, Evans.”
She crossed her arms and stared at him defiantly. “Well, I certainly have the power to dock you points for making other students suffer.”
He let out a loud laugh. “By refusing to shower?”
“Yes – it ought to be a requirement for every teenage boy to shower twice a sodding day, with how you lot reek. But this is just egregious.”
James paused for a fraction of a second, trying to determine if she’d slid that comment in for his benefit – a pity present. He had a difficult time believing she seriously cared all that much about his odorous presence, but found it even more unbelievable that she’d have come up with all this just to boost his confidence.
No, that would be far too out of character for her. He decided her disdain must be genuine – which was just too rich not to toy with.
With a smirk he asked, “Well, how many points is my showering worth to you, Evans?”
“Excuse me?”
“I mean, you’re so obsessed with getting me to shower – how bad will my punishment be if I don’t?”
She started to fluster, and he grinned. “I’m not obsessed with you showering, Potter.”
“Mm, you seem a bit obsessed with me showering,” he replied.
“You do seem a bit obsessed with him showering,” Sirius commented.
Lily huffed, and James thought he noticed a slight blush appearing on her cheeks. “Fine, then. Fifteen points from Gryffindor.”
“Fifteen?” James gaped.
“Merlin, Evans, you’re right desperate for him to shower.”
“He’s foul!” she yelled back, and the ‘he’ settled like a comforting blanket across James’s chest. She hadn’t hesitated for a moment. “That’s the only–!” She stared at them a moment, then muttered irritably, “Actually, nevermind.” She took a few steps over to the table behind them and started to gather her things. “I’ll just vacate the area.”
James laughed, rolling his eyes and standing. “Bloody hell, Evans, fine. You win. Keep the common room. C’mon, Padfoot.”
Lily glared at them as the two boys passed her. “Thanks for the lingering odor, Potter.”
“I’ll be thinking of you as I’m scrubbing clean, Evans!”
His head buzzed happily as he climbed the stairs with screaming thighs.
Lily Evans had yelled at him, just like always.
Who would’ve guessed she’d be such an ally.

What was the HP fandom on AO3 writing in 2022?
some stats diving, ship- and femslash-focused.
default filters used for everything unless indicated otherwise: language: english, no crossovers. only on AO3 (obviously)
hmm someday i'll do a yearly breakdown maybe.
for reference, there were ~324,676 total works in the HP tag updated in 2022 and before, so the top ship Drarry makes up 16% of HP works.
ships in this list but not the former: jegulus, dorlene, and regulus & sirius.
ships in the former list but not this one: snarry, sevmione, tomarry.
harry the character is tagged in 42.7% of all HP works.
the list of "fastest-growing HP character tags in 2022" was almost identical to this. sirius, remus, james, and lily went up one place, severus and ginny down by one, and ron dropped by two. no change in the top 3.
i'm thinking of doing one for HP ships but am unsure which ships to do. you can get a rough estimation from graph #2 though!
A closer look at just the 2022 ships:
filters used: english, no crossovers, works updated between 2022-01-01 and 2022-12-31.
color = ship type by canonical gender. outlined = canon ship
Background vs main pairing ships:
most commonly tagged ships, with the otp:true filter:
very pretty spread of (canon gender, not AO3 category) F/M & M/M ships here.
notable: there is not a single snape ship in the first list, and two snape ships in the second (sevmione at #4 !! and snarry at #8). grindeldore is the other new entry, and
romione, dorlene and regulus & sirius fell out of the top 10
this is probably a better view though:
a mix of all ships in either of the top two graphs (excluding the platonic ship regulus & sirius by definition of the otp:true filter), plus remadora.
open to more ship suggestions, but at some point i need to think about a size cutoff
anyway: some interesting strata here:
snarry+sevmione at the >60-70% mark. (do all snape ships show this trend? just crossgen snape ships? what about other crossgen ships? to be investigated)
grindeldore is an expected outlier due to the different canonical time period
marauders era tends to have more fics-with-multiple-tagged-ships. unexpected - there are so many more named lightning gen characters! lightning gen fandom more splintered/fragmented?
clustering of canon couples at the 15-20% mark, surprisingly consistent across marauders vs lightning gen
oooooo i could soapbox about this dorlene outlier for days. (tldr: if you want to write OFCxOFC that's all well and good, but writing OFCxOFC as what's quite clearly a background ship and a background ship alone? i think we can do better.)
Multi-shipping & ship overlap
marauders era is dominated by one main fanon pairing. no other “/” pairing with either of these two characters makes the top 10 list. in contrast, wrt lightning gen, Draco, Harry, and Hermione are all shipped with each other, with all three combinations making the top 10 list.
there is one pair of marauders era ships with ship overlap, though. which means stats! also included remadora as an additional comparison point since that's another big overlapping ship
jegulus AND jily are tagged in 675 works, out of 3944 works (17%) where all three of james, lily, and regulus are tagged.
meanwhile drarry + dramione: 80 works tagging both ships, out of 8128 works tagging all 3 characters, with an overlap of <1% fics tagging both ships. these two do not mix.

ok so that's a complete nonstarter 😂
tried two ways of filtering down to just femslash ships without losing too much else in the process:
1) excluding works tagged M/M, F/M, and Gen (leaving 2765 fics)
dashed outline = cross-gen ship. solid = marauders gen. everything else = lightning gen.
oh, interesting, people are writing genderbend wolfstar? *checks fics* -- no they're not. 'nuff said.
2) instead, tried adding the otp:true filter (2402 fics)
very similar results -- both lists had the same 9 femslash ships. Bellamione (#1 on both), Fleurmione (#2), Pansmione (#3/#4), Dorlene (#3/#5), Linny (#4/#6), Cissamione (#5/#6), Ginmione (#7/#9), Marylily (#7/#9), Ginsy (#8/#10).
i don't see any obvious trends re. which ships are ranked higher on one list vs the other.
a real quick rating comparison between categories, using the otp:true filter:
"angst" and "fluff" were the top two tags used for most categories so i decided to try a bit of:
<1 = more angst works than fluff, >1 = more fluff works than angst.
the other top tags for each category:
F/F and F/M: both romance (#3)
M/M: established relationship (#3)
Multi: polyamory (#3)
Other: au canon divergence (#3). "other" was used to refer to a mix of NB/trans character, thingfic, and x reader.
Gen: au canon divergence (#1). i was worried about using the otp:true filter for gen fic but the top two tags were indeed & tags (harry & severus, regulus & sirius).

An Indulgent Jily Workplace Enemies to Lovers AU
Fresh off a wedding where I was the Maid of Honour, I present the next chapter of Call It What You Want!
The sex was supposed to have been a one-time thing. It was a mistake, shouldn’t have happened in the first place. The other one had just been there at the right place at the right time. It had everything to do with needing to find a release after a most difficult and stressful day at work. It had absolutely nothing to do with them actually liking each other. Please, they were frenemies at best, nemeses at worst.
This is a Jily Workplace Enemies to Lovers AU written for and inspired by @athenasparrow. Title and chapter titles inspired by Taylor Swift’s reputation.

Rated M, jily AU. Complete Multichapter.
Lily’s love life was a tragedy of epic proportions and she had no brilliant strategy. But a chance encounter ends in a one night stand that blows her mind and leaves her wanting more. There’s just one problem… she doesn’t even know his name.
B.) One More Sleep (currently hidden)
Rated G, Sirius raising harry oneshot.
Three year old Harry Potter is very eager to stay awake and catch Santa Claus delivering him presents.
C.) Call Me By Name
Rated E, Jily AU. WIP Multichapter.
After a not-so-great breakup with a not-so-great boyfriend, Lily comes to the conclusion that if you want something done right you have to do it yourself. Whether mechanically, hydraulically, or auditorily? She WILL find the key to that currently unreachable pleasure.

It had all started out innocently enough, a small wager between housemates on the outcome of the Arrows Vs Catapults game over the weekend. Lily hadn't intended to let slip she knew more about quidditch than she was letting on. Or to set up a fantasy quidditch league with James, but well... what's the harm?

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I used to respond to some comments, but these days I try to respond to everyone who comments even if it's just an emoji as a like "hi yes thank you for your comment I see you I just don't know what to say!"
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angtiest ending?
I don't know if I've ever written an angst ending... nothing springs to mind anyway.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I think most of my fics end up with happy endings or at the very least open hopeful endings.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I wouldn't call it hate... but I did once get a couple of people debating in my comment section that Lily couldn't be friends with Sirius before dating James because it would be "taking away from jily's relationship"
9. Do you write smut. If so what kind?
I don't really understand the second half of the question, but yes I do write smut.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Nope
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don't know if stolen is the right term, but there was a period years ago where some on my one-shots kept being posted on Instagram. Sometimes with credit, others not.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not that I'm aware of.
13. Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
Yes! and I would love to do it again.

Previously I would have said the fic I started over a decade ago... but I am actively trying to finish it and it is one of my publishing WIPs (we're gonna ignore the fact it's in desperate need of an update). It is currently publishing under a new name tho: Wake Me Up (When September Ends)
16. What are your writing strengths?
I manage to sprinkle a little humour into most of my fics.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Sticking to an update schedule... even though I always start with the best of intentions.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I don't think I've ever done it but I can barely English to be fair. I don't mind it in other peoples fics.

20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
I answered this as Stripped Back To Basics yesterday... I'm struggling to like my writing at the moment. But I enjoyed this first ever collaborative project and now Athena is a much beloved friend.

For @hprecfest day 31: A fav among favs.
I read The Very Regency (Un)Ladylike Guide To Fortune-Hunting by @wearingaberetinparis last summer while on vacation and I loved it!! Beautiful writing, fantastic characterizations, Regency Jily, intriguing but also light and fun! A definite favourite and I can't rec it enough!
This concludes my recs for the fest. Thank you to all the mods for their work on this event and to everyone who sent in recs! I hope I could provide some interesting choices to the mix :) Happy New Year!

This fic is so funny and fun. It’s nearly James and Lily’s wedding, and they’re not having sex until then….right? Do you think they can make it?

Okay, this one might be stretching it for an “uncommon recs” rec list, but I love this fic so much. Lily manages the desk at a hotel overnight, and the owners two sons come to stay for a month. 31 days of James trying to convince Lily that it’s not unprofessional to like him if she works for his parents, plus some lovely Euphemia and SIrius moments.
We Have Buried the Putrid Corpse of Liberty by @mabeltothknows
If you have not read this fic, you are living in a sad world and need to have it immediately brightened by reading it. It is the funniest fic I have ever read, hands down. Lily signs up for Married at First Sight (yes, the reality TV series) and you wouldn’t believe who they paired her with… think they’ll survive being married, or will they somehow fall in love?

This is a pair of drabbles buried a list of unrelated fics, so I’m thinking this is pretty uncommon too. James has a date and Lily is moping–until Sirius concocts a plan to make James jealous by taking Lily on a date. Worst made plan ever? Only if it doesn’t work.

This fic has such a grip on my heart. New actress Lily trying to catch her big break, rockstar James trying to break out in film after some setbacks. They end up as costars on a romantic flick, but things are never as simple as they seem…

ANother Jilychallenge fic, but make it Taylor Swift. In this, Jily are broken up, and Lily is finding out just what she missed out on. It’s very angsty and lovely and worth a read!

I try to, or at least have the goal to, but admittedly I'm very bad at it. (not to use it as an excuse but my adhd is fully to blame.) I plan to go back and catch up on all of them soon & have a dream of being much better about it, though. I do intentionally make sure I eventually respond to the ones for my WIPs, at least.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
well, since dead to me hasn't ended yet (kidding kidding kidding kidding!!!)
lmao I really thought I was gonna have a hard time finding a fic with an unhappy ending but I evidently forgot who I am. I dunno how to choose between:
1. i don't even know where you end and i begin (500 words, canon prongsfoot....you get it)
2. Promises to Keep (1k words, dorlene with canon ending....you get it)
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Okay listen, do I technically have a fic that mentions living happily ever after in the last line? Yes. Am I choosing that fic? No. I'm choosing Happy Holidays, You Filthy Potters, because 1. smut, 2. sassy young Harry, and best of all, 3. sassy good godfather sirius black 😉
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I've gotten a couple of comments about Lily in Dead To Me but I've decided it's not my problem if people don't have critical analysis skills 💀
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I do! I write smut for a number of different ships and plan on doing others! Uhhh, what kind? the fact that I don't really know what that means probably means it's pretty vanilla 😆 there's a lot of going down on people 🤐
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Haha, no, but if I did I'd probably do PJO/HP
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge. that would be so heartbreaking.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No, but that's SO cool that people offer to do that for some fics!!!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I have!! @charmsandtealeaves and I co-wrote a fic for a jilychallenge last year, before we were even friends! It was my first time co-writing a fic, which was very cool and different, but also didn't feel that foreign to me -- I think because I've spent a lot more years doing para RP than I have writing fics. It was fun to kind of riff off another writer in a different way. I would definitely do it again!
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
Okay, this is kind of tough because I only recently got into Prongsfoot, and they are the definition of soulmates... But because I ultimately see Sirius as more of an ace/aro character, Jily wins the place of favorite ship in my heart. <3
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Well, I really only have two WIPs posted on AO3: Dead To Me and Just This Once, and I have all of DTM outlined and plan to finish it by fall. Just This Once might be a while, but I also have a plan for it and would like to finish it at some point... But I guess there's a chance I won't finish it -- I do have a lot of other multi-chaps I am going to be starting soon.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Hm. I like to think I'm good at getting into the minds of my characters, really thinking through their motivations and emotions and then expressing those to the reader. I also think I'm fairly good at dialogue. I really like writing banter so I hope others think I'm good at it, haha. And based on what I've been told, my smut isn't half bad 😆
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Oh, definitely writing descriptions of any kind. I never remember to describe the scene and when I do, I think it feels clunky. I'm not great at writing in a more direct way, either; I struggle to express a character's emotions without getting a bit flowery with it. Just generally, I think my writing could be tighter, you know? I'm sure I'll realize other things I need to work on as I write more long fics, too.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
Ah, haven't done it yet, so don't have any thoughts to share.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
HP -- Jily on the Neopets forums... never 4get <3
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
If we're talking finished works, I'd have to say Tall Dark and Glasses, which I wrote for the masquerade event for Jilytober last year. To me, that fic has a certain je ne sais quois that is hard to replicate.
But unfinished? Dead To Me, hands down, and once it's finished it will be very hard to ever top it. It's imperfect and there are a lot of edits I'd make if I were to go back through and polish it up, but it's the first multi chap fic I've ever written, and beyond just feeling immensely proud of that, the story itself and how I'm writing it is one of the most heartfelt and meaningful things I'll ever write in my life.

Bittersweet
Being one of the most loved events of last year, it HAD to make a comeback this year as well!
Who can participate: Writers/Artists!
Description: The participants will be given a fluff prompt which should be interpreted as angst. And vice versa
How to participate: Those interested to participate in this challenge can give their names, here!
Masquerade challenge
Who can participate: everyone!
Description: A few writers will write and submit their fics to the challenge, and these will be posted anonymously on the page. Readers have to match the fics to the writers!
How to participate as an author: Authors can submit their names to write a fic, here!
Winner: A scoreboard will be maintained, and the person with the most right guesses at the end, will win this challenge!
Microfics
At the beginning of the week, 5 prompts will be posted. They can all be connected together to make one fic, or as many as one wants. There is no limit! The microfics are to range in between 50-100 words but if inspiration strikes, feel free to go crazy!
Who can participate: Writers! (Even artworks,playlists, moodboards can be made!!)
Readers Bingo!
We all know that all readers consume jily content like crazy, so we will be having a separate bingo template!
Who can participate: Everyone!

Hello! I've loved every single thing you've posted lately, and what keeps surprising me is your ability to make your art look like a movie! Every single frame looks so incredibly real because the poses are so natural and dynamic. Everytime I think you can't be better than that, you post something and outdo yourself! If you keep improving at this pace your drawings will literally come to life in a matter of months 😂 you're my favourite artist hands down, and one other thing that you always portray really beautifully is emotion. Your characters have such a wide variety of expressions and they're all wonderful. Can't wait to see what the future holds for you! And a few days ago I remembered you asked what we would like to see for Jily, so I was wondering if you had any more pregnant Lily/baby Harry headcanons that you'd like to share with us ❤️
this is one of the best messages I've received, thank you so much for the lovely words. It made me so happy! At this point I just hope I continue to enjoy sharing my art with you guys. So I'm glad more people feel the same. I will definitely draw more Lily as a mother :) this time no October 31 in the way, so I suppose I could go on forever without bringing up their fate.
