i'm gonne talk about Gantz. Spoilers ahead.

The thing with Gantz (the manga, in its' whole), is that it's not about the quality of it it's about how unique it is. Sure, Baki, Berserk, Kingdom, Smokin Parad' and hxh are up out there with the greatest for their art, storytelling, characters devloppment and you guessed it, the whole fucking rest that makes a story good.

Gantz has all of the above but the reason im talking about it, is because no other manga, tv series or cartoon does it with that much MESS and ELEGANCY at the same time. The whole time i was reading the manga i thought it was a fucking joke, because no story can start with such an asshole and get so damn good. Then there's the randomness of it.

You got vampires that handle a fight club in japan and they got katanas and kill people and then yiu got more aliens and one of them has a weird-ass fucking name and this dude who played too much videogamez is an absolute monster at the Gantz survival night game so he kills the bad guy in one sh-he fucking dies because fuck you?

The last arc made me question why i was even alive in the first place. Why the fuck am i still here suffering?? Do I HAVE to read this garbage? Yes. Because Gantz is not a story, it's an experience. You live it. It's got around ~368 chapters or someth, but at some point it just quickly feels like 30000. It's neverending, but that's the best point of Gantz: the insanity is based upon a giant randomizer, like i said the vampire thing ain't even the weirdest shit you'll witness.

But above all the goofy and sexual aspect, Gantz quickly introduces soooo many ideas, creations, concepts and gadgets that are inherent to the manga and keeps on going with it up until the very end. It may feel sketchy because the panels are more than often showcasing the crying characters, again, again, fucking again...

I can't stress just how much you need to read Gantz. The whole point of the manga id GROWTH. As a whole. It's not about character devloppment anymore, it's about following the main character, yes i forgot his name, into a journey of pure violence and loss, but as previously mentionned: growth. You basically start with a kid who never grew up with friends or family so he's out of touch with humanity and basic understanding of human emotions. Throughout the tale, he clings on to what keeps him alive: the tenacity and mental strenghthbof his old childhood friend who acts as the main leader during the missions.

What is so absolutely amazing, epic, majestic, and totally above anything anyone will ever produce, ever, is just how REAL it feels. Kei (there u go), goes around acting as the leader after [whatever the fuck happened to his friend] and starts taking the best decisions for everyone. And so, subtly, everyone starts on clinging to what keeps them alive: Kei. They hold on to him the same way he used to hold on to his friend.

Gantz is The One Above All manga because it isn't an isekai, neither it is a 100% fictionnal or real story, it is a kind of an pure mix. Kei is just a high school (i think?), student who goes from porn addict to leader of a group of people who kill aliens at night, and is depicted, narratively-speaking and drawing-wise, as a hero, as just a fucking cool dude who gets to live his life to the fullest as if he was in a videogame or someth. Not only that!!! He starts developping bonds with the people who trust him, and this sort of second family (even tho there too, people come on and go, but those who stay and those who just got here are easily entranced by his vitality and goodwill to make sure everyone is safe and sound, which just goes to show how much he actually cares about people), he and how muchbit matters to find people in your life who trust you and accept you for who you are and how much you can show care, love and committment despite horrible shit happening to you.

Gantz has futuristic guns, cool giant robots, innovative concepts and more, and it feels surreal and so real at the same time specifically because you are thrown into this gigantic mess of ideas all at once and it just is....💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯

Please read Gantz, it is just a necessity. Iy's not about the quality of it it's about how human and how much anyone can somehow relate to Kei because his lack of humanity is a result, a product of society and lack of humanity, and his journey to acceptance of himself and others is tear-jerking.
