the first beloved fic by this fandom. completed in august 2020, it strays from canon somewhat at S7E11, but the characterization makes you forget that anything is different at all. truly a masterpiece, and definitely a must-read.

SURPRISE @ughfitz it was me who was your Secret Santa this whole time! It was so much fun getting to know you and chat these past few weeks and as you guessed very very accurately, your prompt of Pen Pals AU (friends to lovers) absolutely set my imagination on FIRE and I promptly wrote about three pages of notes when my assignment first came through. This has been such a fun prompt to write, (and am still writing, the last chapter is still in progress, which I wanted it all finished for today but December has been a crazy month and I am honestly about 2k away from finishing) thank you so much for coming up with this, I’m not sure I ever would have written it or come up with it on my own, so yeah, thank you, and I hope you enjoy!

13. Exes or established relationship?
I’m very much an established relationship person! ( @robotgort loves second chance romance!) I like playing around in a short fic with a couple (or moresome) that are already together and are simply enjoying life. It’s something that you don’t see much of in published fiction and a place fanfic really shines. You can write 2K of an established couple picking out curtains at target and people will read and love it. There’s no other genre outside of fanfic that has this level of enjoyment for a couple that’s already together.
16. Describe your WIP that currently has the highest word count.
*mumble mumble*
Technically this is the Spuffy fic Heaven Sent at 66,134, but I’ve marked that as a permanent WIP. Maybe someday I’ll get those last three chapters done.
Otherwise, it’s Take My Breath Away, my Top Gun, role-reversal, it’s the 1980s but with no homophobia, and the Navy is nearly all women wish-fulfillment fic. It’s sitting at 21K and I just need three more chapters, like 6K, to finish it. I got all stalled out because of covid hitting while I was writing it and it’s been almost impossible to dredge up the happy needed to get through those chapters. That fic comes from a really bright spot that’s been dim for most of a year now 😢I really want to finish it, when I can, because it’s a love letter to my younger self who didn’t grow up in a world that knew how to accept her.
19. What’s your favorite character headcanon?
Probably that Fitz is a boob guy. There’s zero in canon to suggest that. In season one he awkwardly makes the hand gesture while having trouble saying the word. My brain decided that was him not wanting to give away his deep, dark secret that he’s really, really into Jemma’s rack. It’s hilarious to me that I’ve now had someone tell me how “in character” I’m writing Fitz for making him like tits. Guys, that was my random headcanon 😂 And you will pry it out of my cold, dead hands now. *evil laughter*
