“And so it began… I had a long cord that plugged into the Polaroid which I put on a tripod with the button in my hand… I’d be completely dressed – red lipstick and hair and long white gown in the middle of the night… I’d start moving furniture and lamps around and kept changing the lighting… Lots of times I ran out of film and would send people out to buy more in the middle of the night but the end result was I taught myself about lighting and how to take a great picture. I realized the songs and pictures from that time all fit together and from these I would select the art work for the album. They were of a time. I had stored them all in shoe boxes and they still look great. Many have a golden tone to them which is perfect for the title of the album.”
Stevie’s eighth solo album ‘24 Karat Gold: Songs from the Vault’ was released on September 30th, 2014 🌙

Stevie Nicks ~ All These Years RAL Demo
youtube
This is a demo of Stevie's from Rock A Little, it was from 1984. Stevie wrote this song in honor of her best friend, Robin Anderson who died of leukemia in 1981 just as Stevie was releasing her debut album, Bella Donna. In 1983, Stevie married Robin's husband, Kim for a few months, this song also mentions Matthew, Robin and Kim's son, whom Stevie was a brief stepmother to. Rock A Little started out as a project called Mirror, Mirror. But it was scrapped. I think this song should've been on Rock A Little as it really tells a story, a very sad story. What do you guys think? I also feel this song should be released on a 24 Karat Gold Volume 2. There were also other songs from the RAL sessions that tell stories. Songs like 'Night Gallery', 'Ooh Ooh Baby', 'Chanel, Chanel', 'I Call You Missing', 'Jimmy, Come On Back', 'Running Through the Garden', 'She Loves Him Still', 'Reconsider Me', 'Mirror, Mirror', 'Love is Like A River', 'Mabel Normand', 'What Has Rock and Roll Ever Done For You?', 'Priest of Nothing', 'Are You Mine?', 'It's Not A Dream', 'Something Exquisite', 'Gypsy Beggars', 'You Like Me'. Nicks also did a cover of Olivia Newton-John's 'Tied Up (In Promises), which she demoed for Rock A Little. 'I Call You Missing' was demoed for Nicks' 1994 fifth studio album, Street Angel, but was left off the track listing. 'Running Through the Garden' was released in 2003 on Fleetwood Mac's 'Say You Will' album. 'You Like Me' was recorded by the Williams Brothers in the late 80s, they gave Stevie 'Some Become Strangers' for her Rock A Little album. The songs, Mabel Normand and She Loves Him Still were released in 2014 on Stevie's eighth studio album '24 Karat Gold: Songs From the Vault'. 'Love is Like A River' was released on Nicks' Street Angel album. 'Reconsider Me' was a duet with Don Henley. It was intended for Rock A Little, but Nicks' left it off the album, it was released in 1998 on Nicks' 3-disc boxset 'Enchanted'. Mirror, Mirror was tried out again for Nicks' 1989 fourth album 'The Other Side of the Mirror', but was left off, Nicks' recorded a final version of the song in 1992, she wanted it as the b-side to her 1994 single from Street Angel, Blue Denim, her producer accidentally grabbed the wrong master tape and ended up putting the RAL demo version of song as the b-side to Blue Denim. Another song that was demoed for Rock A Little, 'Thousand Days' ended up as the b-side to Nicks' 1994 single, Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind. 'What Has Rock and Roll Ever Done For You?' was released in 2023 as a duet with Dolly Parton on her 49th album, Rockstar. An entire album of Dolly doing rock songs. It was the ninth track on the album. So what do you think, do you think these songs need to be released on a deluxe edition of Rock A Little or a 24 Karat Gold Volume 2? I hope this song especially gets released. 'All These Years' would be a great tribute to Robin, I feel it could also serve as a tribute to Christine McVie.

STEVIE NICKS AND THE PRETENDERS SETLIST FULL
STEVIE NICKS AND THE PRETENDERS SETLIST MAC
Stevie supported the release of her eighth solo album 24 Karat Gold: Songs from the Vault with a successful world tour.
STEVIE NICKS AND THE PRETENDERS SETLIST MOVIE
Come with me!Ģ4 Karat Gold The Concert will be in movie theaters exclusively on October 21 & 25. The 24 Karat Gold Tour was one of my favorite tours I’ve ever done.
STEVIE NICKS AND THE PRETENDERS SETLIST FULL
Stevie Nicks 24 Karat Gold The Concert is full of the magic that Stevie Nicks brings to her live performances and is an unforgettable experience that demands to be seen on the big screen!
STEVIE NICKS AND THE PRETENDERS SETLIST MAC
Widely considered one of the most important female voices in rock music with an unparalleled career, Stevie Nicks has had six Top Ten albums, 8 Grammy nominations and is the first woman to be twice inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame – with Fleetwood Mac in 1998 and as a solo artist in 2019. The film also highlights Stevie’s intuitive and intimate storytelling abilities, captivating audiences with personal stories behind some of the most famous songs in music history. Recorded over two nights during her sold-out 24 Karat Gold Tour, the film features a set-list of fan favorites and rare gems from Stevie’s multi-platinum selling catalog. Rock & Roll Hall of Fame icon Stevie Nicks brings her legendary music to the big screen when Stevie Nicks 24 Karat Gold The Concert comes to select cinemas for two nights only on October 21 & 25. Sorry this isn't more detailed I guess I thought the 2011 show was better.Stevie Nicks 24 Karat Gold -The Concert film will screen exclusively at independent theaters on October 21 and 25. But I don't think I would pay that sort of money for anyone again, except for Mark KNopfler, and I think if he comes back he would play a bigger venue. I also wasn't in the first four rows as I had thought I would be, but just behind. It was nice being able to stand around & have a few drinks for free, but it meant I never got near the merchandise. I paid a lot of money for the hospitality package for which I got a laminate & a drinks holder, which I then lost. She told one story she said she'd never told an audience before, and of course now I don't remember what it was. While her stories were interesting, you don't remember them afterwards. My only complaint was that she talked far too much. I wonder if this is the same Marilyn Martin who duetted with Phil Collins on Separate Lives? I had to leave when the encore started so I missed Landslide, unfortunately.Īn interesting snippet is that one of the backing singers, Lori, couldn't make it, so was replaced with a woman Stevie referred to as Marilyn Martin. But for me the absolute standout was the magnficent Gold Dust Woman, a song I can never hear enough. Obviously Stop Draggin' My Heart Around with Chrissie was a high point, as was Edge Of Seventeen. Stand Back was dedicated to Prince I had no idea he played on the song. I was pleased to hear Outside The Rain, Bella Donna & The Wild Heart & it was certainly interesting to hear a Buckingham Nicks song (Crying In The Night). Kudos to her for doing some deep cuts, most of which I didn't know. This is Stevie's setlist (I assume Adelaide was the same as Sydney which hasn't been added yet: Great to hear Thumbelina & Middle Of The Road from Learning to Crawl, and Hymn To Her which is a superb song. Chrissie Hynde still has an amazing voice. Well, I had a good time, but I honestly think the Pretenders stole the show.

I Miss Casino Nights
I don’t know about you, but even with Delta raging across the country, I’m still having a pretty normal summer, especially compared with last year.  That doesn’t mean I’m not being extra cautious right now.  I am.  But the reason it’s pretty normal is that in the summer I’m usually outside most of the time anyways.  And since I unlike last summer I can actually be around family and friends this year, it’s pretty normal.  But one thing that’s missing for me this summer is casinos.  Yes, casinos!  My favorite city in America is Brigantine.  I’ve been going there my entire life.  And it’s right next to Atlantic City.  So as I became of age, I’ve spent A LOT of summer nights walking (and stumbling…) around AC’s casinos.  I’m not even a big gambler – I’ve never once gambled in AC and of the two times I’ve been to Vegas, I gambled one dollar.  TOTAL. But I love casinos – the clubs, the bars, the restaurants, the people watching, the energy.  It’s a huge escape from the rest of my life.  So this week’s playlist is in honor of something I’m really missing this summer.  Even more than concert’s.  I just want to gel my hair, put on a pink blazer and spend a long night in some casinos.
