So here's another "40th birthday of a series" to celebrate.
Above, an image of a page from the November 1983 edition of the SF-&-fantasy news magazine LOCUS... sent to me by my publisher, which is why the review of So You Want To Be A Wizard is highlighted (it having come out at the beginning of the month). And right across from that on the page, a review of the new book by some guy named Pratchett.
I remember reading that review at the time and thinking, "Hmm, sounds like this couid be fun. Must pick up a copy..."

In Shanghai, Hasbro has opened a pop-up gallery in the city center to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the My Little Pony franchise with art and fashion showcases.
According to an official Weibo post, the 40th anniversary art exhibition is open from May 20 to June 11, at 10:00–20:00 every day, and is located at 862–864 Huaihai Middle Road in Huangpu District, Shanghai.
Among other things, the gallery appears to include art submitted by children who are fans of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic.

Fiat Panda 4×4 Piccolo Lusso, 2023 (1983), by Niels van Roij Design. A one-off Panda to celebrate the 4x4’s 40th anniversary by the Dutch coachbuilder. The car is based on the Sisley special edition Panda (hence the canoe graphics) and has been finished in Azzurro Blu to pay homage to the Italian Mediterranean Sea. The interior has been retrimmed in leather and cloth to help justify the Piccolo Lusso (little luxury) name.

News - Warner Bros Japan has announced they're working on a new Fist of the North Star anime to celebrate the franchise's 40th anniversary! The announcement says that details will be released at a later date, though the official website has comments from both original creators, Buronson & Tetsuo Hara, that allude to it being a more faithful adaptation of the original manga. I'll update with more information as it's released!
