Is there a fashion historian somewhere out there who is willing to DM me every sewing pattern and fashion magazine and photo of clothing and hairstyles and makeup they can find from the year 1930, because every time I try to find references FOR SPECIFICALLY THE YEAR 1930, I get references for the 1930s, WHICH I DO NOT NEED.
I’m looking for women’s, men’s, teen, and child fashion from the year 1930, ideally from the east coast of America released before the Winter of 1930, any help would be appreciated.
Also please please PLEASE if you have any online sources you’d think would help please comment or DM them to me I am desperate.

Lady pirate from an ad in the December 1930 issue of "Delineator", a woman's magazine put out by the Butterick sewing pattern company.

Goodness knows how that sash is holding up that heavy pistol and sword. Also she's wearing a fashionable 1920s upper-arm bracelet over her ambiguously-cut shirt. A magnificent what-on-earth costume.
The ad is for "1847 Rogers Brothers" silver plate. Apparently the pirate theme is because their silverware sets now come in "pieces of eight" -- i.e. 8 sets per box rather than 6. Ho ho.
December 1930 was a super thankless time to be trying to sell luxury goods. The calamitous effects of the great stock market crash of 1929 were not yet entirely recognized, and advertisers were still trying to pursue imaginary affluent pre-crash customers.

One Dress a Day Challenge
June: Weddings
Cold Comfort Farm / Kate Beckinsale as Flora Poste and Sheila Burrell as Ada Doom
These are the outfits Flora and Ada wear to the wedding of Reuben Starkadder, Flora's cousin and Ada's ... grandson, I think, or maybe grandnephew? Both follow the pattern of a white dress with black hat, similar to the costume worn by Bette Davis as Mrs. Van Schuyler in the 1978 Death on the Nile.
Flora is very up-to-date 1930s, with an interesting sort of built-in scarf at the neckline of her dress. Ada Doom is more throwback-Edwardian in style, with some collar jewelry and a fur shoulder wrap.

Inspo from my great grandmother in my outfit today. If I could’ve gotten my hands on a gray skirt we’d totally be twinning. 🥰
