GIMME FIVE, MARY OURS!!
As a paraphrased line went from a Made-For-TV movie about a Miss America from Hawaii in the 1990s: I knew I was blessed I had done four photoshoots with KDKA-TV's Mary Ours in the past.
But after we've done our FIFTH, today, I'd like to thank her for being one of my YINZER Star/Model friends!

Compared with the traditional RGB Video Lights, the biggest innovation of these two new RGB Lights is the use of two different LED beads, which separates the RGB and Bi-Color Beads, so when these two VIdeo Lights use RGB or Bi-Color Both can be nearly four times brighter than traditional RGB lights.

The advantages and disadvantages of detachable liners in horse rugs
Tumblr media
As the winter frost sets in, equestrians worldwide focus on keeping their beloved equine friends warm and comfortable. With a myriad of options available, from heavyweight turnout rugs to lightweight alternatives, horse owners often find themselves contemplating the best choice to suit their horse's needs. One innovative solution gaining popularity is the integration of detachable liners in turnout rugs, allowing for adjustable warmth levels throughout the winter season. In this guide, we'll explore the pros and cons of this feature, helping you make an informed decision for your horse's winter wardrobe.
Understanding Turnout Rug Options:
Before delving into the specifics of detachable liners, let's briefly touch on the various turnout rug options available in the market:
Heavyweight Turnout Rugs: Designed for extreme cold conditions, heavyweight turnout rugs offer maximum insulation and protection against harsh weather elements.
Medium Weight Turnout Rugs: These medium weight turnout rug rugs provide a balance between warmth and mobility, suitable for moderately cold temperatures without causing overheating.
Lightweight Turnout Rugs: Ideal for milder winter days or horses who tend to overheat easily, lightweight turnout rugs offer minimal insulation while still providing protection from wind and rain.
Now, let's explore the benefits and drawbacks of incorporating detachable liners into turnout rugs:
Pros of Detachable Liners:
Customizable Warmth Levels
One of the most significant advantages of detachable liners is the ability to adjust warmth levels according to weather conditions and your horse's individual needs. By adding or removing liners, you can tailor the rug to provide optimal comfort throughout the fluctuating temperatures of the winter season.
Versatility
Detachable liners enhance the versatility of turnout rugs, allowing them to adapt to varying weather conditions and seasons. Whether it's a chilly morning, a sunny afternoon, or a frosty evening, you can easily modify the rug to keep your horse cozy without overheating or getting too cold.
Cost-Effective
Investing in a turnout rug with detachable liners can be cost-effective in the long run. Instead of purchasing multiple rugs for different temperature ranges, you can rely on one rug with interchangeable liners, reducing the need for additional purchases and saving money in the process.
Easy Maintenance
Detachable liners simplify the cleaning and maintenance process of turnout rugs. Since the liners can be removed separately, they can be washed and dried independently, ensuring thorough cleaning without compromising the integrity of the entire rug.
Extended Lifespan
By allowing you to adapt the rug to different weather conditions, detachable liners can help prolong the lifespan of your 1200d turnout rug. With proper care and maintenance, a versatile rug equipped with interchangeable liners can withstand multiple seasons of use.
Cons of Detachable Liners:
Added Complexity: While detachable liners offer versatility, they also introduce an additional layer of complexity to the rug. Some horse owners may find the process of attaching and removing liners cumbersome, especially in cold or adverse weather conditions.
Risk of Misplacement: There is a risk of misplacing or losing detachable liners, particularly if they are not securely attached to the rug. Losing a liner can compromise the functionality of the rug and may necessitate purchasing a replacement, adding to the overall cost.
Fit and Comfort: Depending on the design and fit of the rug, detachable liners may affect the overall fit and comfort for some horses. Improperly fitted liners can cause discomfort, rubbing, or restricted movement, detracting from the effectiveness of the rug as a whole.
Durability Concerns: The attachment points and mechanisms used for detachable liners may be prone to wear and tear over time, especially with frequent use and washing. This could potentially affect the longevity and durability of the turnout rug, requiring repairs or replacements.
Limited Availability: Not all turnout rug models offer the option of detachable liners, limiting choices for horse owners who prefer this feature. Availability may vary depending on brand, style, and specific requirements, potentially narrowing the selection pool.
Conclusion
While removable liners have indisputable advantages in terms of flexibility, variety, and cost-effectiveness, they also have certain negatives, including increased complexity and durability problems. Ultimately, the choice to use a turnout rug with removable liners should be based on your horse's specific requirements, your preferences as an owner, and the weather conditions in your area. By carefully analyzing the advantages and drawbacks described in this article, you can make an educated decision to keep your horse warm, happy, and safe throughout the winter months.

your pictures!!!! 😩😩😩 soo pretty!! and soo many beautiful and fun places you’ve been to and you’ve captured them really nicely
bestie what camera do you use? (we’ve talked before about traveling but i’m also into photography so i’m always excited to talk about it ajsnsj)
Aw, thanks Simona! I love taking photos and I have way too many just sitting on my drive, so the blog is a way for me to actually feel like I'm using them/having them seen! Thanks for having a look!
I have a Canon 1200D and also a couple of little Canon IXUS point and shoot cameras too. I take a LOT of my photos with my phone though just because I feel more obtrusive when I have the proper camera (and sometimes I'm too lazy to carry it!).
What kind of camera do you have? What kind of photos do you like to take?

We got our hands on a pre-production set of GRT720 Canyon Side Bags from Givi for some early testing. These rugged, waterproof, 50-liter (total) soft bags have been designed with the off-road traveler in mind and feature a 1200D polyester body with a polyurethane coating for extra durability. An outer protective flap, with a built-in mesh pocket, gives additional abrasion protection plus, eight quick-release tension straps let you conveniently secure loose items inside the outer flap or compress the bags down to reduce the overall width of your bike when not carrying a full load. Extra material in the roll-top opening makes it easy to get a water-tight seal, and the rigid thermoformed backing plate allows you to firmly snap them in place on GIVI racks using the Monokey latch system with a satisfying “click.” This makes them easily interchangeable with a set of GIVI Trekker hard boxes as well, so you can quickly switch luggage systems depending on the ride. And if you want to expand capacity, there are also 8 side loops for attaching auxiliary bags. Keep an eye out for the GIVI Canyon Bags appearing in stores soon. 👉For more details click the link https://bit.ly/canyonbags

Do you have any camera recommendations?
not really, to be honest 😂 my go-to at the moment is a Canon EOS 1200D, which is currently about 8 years old. I have a couple of different lenses I use for it, but honestly it's not so much how new or fancy a camera is and more how much effort you put in to learning how to use it. obviously have in mind what you want to use it for, and how you would like to capture those pictures, but if you're willing to put in the time to get to know your camera you'd be surprised how little you have to spend. (I mean, objectively. my camera and lenses are probably altogether about £500 worth of kit, but some cameras are like, several thousand, which by comparison makes mine look not too bad lol.)
if you're new to it, a basic beginner DSLR camera should do you fine until you work out your style and start knowing enough about what you need to start getting specific cameras/lenses. hell, I've been doing this shit for years and I still use what's technically a beginner camera. there's just so much I can do with it, and I can swap out different lenses, so I've stuck with it. knowing one camera intimately > having expensive kit but being clueless.
