Azt hiszem, a lelkileg egészséges emberek nem akarnak szándékosan meggyógyítani senkit. Tudom, ez furán hangzik, de aki lelkileg egészséges az nem hoz létre olyan kapcsolatot amiben a másik az Ő gyógyítására, az ő gyógymódjára szorul. Ha igen, az az ő betegsége lenne. Olyan pesze van, hogy annyira szereted a másikat, hogy az elbírja hordani az ő terheit is. Vagy legalább segít benne. De az nem szándékkal, hanem a jellemedből adódóan. Amikor a pszichológus azt mondja, hogy „maga nagyon sokat beletett ebbe akapcsolatba és a szeretete meg a figyelme gyógyító volt” akkor én magamban csak hümmögök és némi ijedtséget érzek mert nem találom magamban a szándékot. Vagy volt csak nem vettem észre? Én senkit nem akartam meggyógyítani. Csak megpróbáltam kapcsolódni. A magam módján. Tulajdonképpen erőszakosan, újra meg újra. (hogy mi volt az eszménykép amit benéztem, arról majd máskor írok) Lehet, hogy ez az állandó vegzálás kicsit olyan lett, mint az izomstimulálás, hogy végül csak megmozdul, változik a tónus, javul az egészség, lehet. De én nem akartam meggyógyítani, én közel akartam jutni ahhoz a valamihez, amit megláttam és amibe beleszerettem. Meggyógyul és elhagy. Ez is milyen öntelt hozzáállás. Elhagy mert elhagy. Talán sosem volt a tiéd, már amennyire érzelmileg azért csak lehet valakit "birtokolni". Elhagy mert miért maradna? A másik amin gondolkodtam újra a drog meg a díler. Amikor éppen arra van szükség, az ember mindenféle tudósoknak, coachoknak és sarlatánoknak is hisz, mert keresi, kutatja a magyarázatokat meg az utat. Mindannyian dílerek vagyuk és mindannyian drogosok. Erre jutottam. Veszélyes ezt számonkérni, mert lebénítja az embert. Impulzusokat, érzelmeket adunk, hogy kapjunk. Van akiből könnyebb kinyerni van akiből nehezebb, a tumblin meg a fészen elég könnyű. Nem lehet egy kapcsolatban folyamatosan dílerkedni azért, hogy a kapcsolat megmaradjon. De nem is ez a lényeg, hanem az, hogy hogy is van ez, nem te vagy a fontos, hanem ami belőled kinyerhető? Ha szeretnek, akkor is szeretnek, ha csendben vagy? Ez azt akarja jelenteni? Régen úgy gondoltam, hogy egy jó kapcsolatban az emberek behordják a közösbe az élményeiket és közös értékké teszik. De ahhoz nyilván kell valami közös érdeklődés, vagy legalább közös mesélési nyelv. Mert én mondjuk halálosan untam az épületautomatizálást, ami egy más előadásban, más fókuszokkal akár éredekes is lehetett volna. És döbbenten látom, hogy az emberek eléldegélnek egymás mellett mélységek nélkül, igazi összetartozás élmény nélkül. Ha már túljut az ember az erőszakos akaráson, akkor meg a csendről nem lehet tudni, hogy béke vagy halál.

“The Snows of Terror”

Season 1 episode 24 - 2nd May 1964

This is absolutely the most filler episode so far in the show. There’s not really any good interesting ideas, any fun design elements are not used in fun ways, and there’s absolutely nothing to do with the overall themes and barely anything to do with the overall plot of the serial.

Is it an entertaining watch: 2/5, no, if you didn’t get that idea from the last paragraph, it’s just kinda boring. At least there’s the bit where Ian rubs short-shorts-man’s leg and its kinda gay I enjoyed that, or rather I enjoyed pointing at the screen and shouting homo. Nothing else though.

Does the production hold up: 2/5, some things in this episodelook good. Most things don’t. The inexplicable medieval knights, the terrifying chasm that’s maybe a few feet across, the poorly inserted stock footage of the wolves, the unconvincing caves - this episode really has it all (derogatory). The knights especially are really funny actually, the defrosting scene is nice but once they’re moving at full speed it’s just a bit silly, especially the way they look around using their full body like 1989 Batman.

Does it use its time well: 3/5, the development of the threat is pretty good in the first half, but then Terry Nation does what Terry Nation does best when he has pages of a script to fill: have his characters wander around in a cave, including making their way over a big hole.

Are the characters consistent and well-used: 2/5, ignoring that this is one of Hartnell’s holiday episodes, Susan is also completely absent from the beginning of the episode. While I get that it’s to preserve the mystery of what happened to her and Sabitha, there’s really not much mystery and it’s really obvious from the start so why are we pretending there’s some sort of tension there?

Is there anything actually going on under the surface: 1/5, this is the point where I went “am I just making up the whole themes thing in this serial?” because there’s NOTHING here about mind control, or control, or even just the nature of power in society.

Does it avoid being a bit dodge with its politics: 1/5, this episode is not the worst instance of Barbara Wright being threatened with sexual assault. But it’s still here, and I don’t like it. Obviously it’s not like I don’t think these things can be depicted in a TV show (unless it’s being played for comedy like it will be in The Romans in season 2), but I really think that it should serve some sort of purpose within the narrative. But here, it’s just another thing that she’s threatened with, and when the implication is already that she’s going to be killed, I really just don’t think this was necessary, especially in a children’s science fiction adventure show. This show can and will do darker themes really well, exploring things in-depth, but I don’t think this was what Terry wanted to do. He just wanted to threaten Barbara with something.

Nagyon érdekes

egyik nap meghallgatni egy előadást az álhírgyártásról és másik nap végignézni a működését egy olyan újságnál amilyen a HVG. A hírhez belinkelnek egy forrás, ami az ő saját korábbi hírük, amiben szó nincs arról amiről írnak, de még kicsavarva is nehezen értelmezhető úgy ahogy az új hírt gyártották belőle. Bízom benne, hogy a Tech rovatuk nem így működik :/

Felszívtam magam és hadakozom a kivitelezővel. Ő arra hivatkozik, hogy nem fizettem én azt mondom nem is fogok, nem akarok velük dolgoztatni. Eddig csak az volt az elgondolásom, hogy előre nem fizetek, most viszont az az elgondolásom, hogy egyáltalán nem szeretnék velük dolgoztatni a továbbiakban.
