Also making my favourite characters go through hell and then receiving comfort from their people is like the best thing ever for me so every time I see a whump!Robin post I like automatically

People loving android!Robin makes me so happy anansnssndsnsns she's curious and excitable and full of wonder and the world keeps punishing her for simply being alive. Sometimes it's too painful even for me, big whump lover 😭�� though seriously, there is not enough Robin whump, and while all the characters in the show are very whumpeable, hurting my little blorbo Robin feels special because... she's just so deeply lonely. She's lonely and she thinks she deserves to be because of something wrong with her (pulling this interpretation from Surviving Hawkins lore which is canon to me 😭). That was a big idea I had when I first came up with android!Robin... that there is something wrong with her. Broken. In this AU she's literally broken in a lot of way (battery and memory problems, weak joints in her lower half, etc), but that's all within the range of normal robot problems. The real issue with her is that she's sentient. It terrifies people because it really brings out the existencial horror of... well, existing. It terrifies Robin most of all. She is the problem. She is what's wrong with her. She shouldn't exist.

But at the same time, she loves being alive so much! She doesn't understand it and doesn't know how it happened, but it happened, and now she's real and wants to experience life and the world and know people like human beings do. So it's her constant battle to become human despite humans having hurt her so much in the past... only for Nancy to already see her as human. Just one made of metal and plastic, but human nonetheless. She's the first person to see her that way and maybe everyone else thinks she's crazy, but Nancy is used to that. She's so sure of this, though, of Robin's self-awareness. She trusts her so blindly. She doesn't even need proof. And not only does she believe her, but she defends her humanity in front of her friends and family so ardently, fighting so hard for Robin to be aknowledged by everyone else as human. Fighting so hard to give her a home and family for the first time in her life.

Nancy has it bad for Robin, really. She's just so in love, even if everyone else thinks she's crazy for falling in love with a machine (no one thinks she is, though, because they all know Robin, and once you know Robin, it's impossible not to love her).

#actual answer Femtanyl has been on loop since like august #a lot of Changeline & Issabrokie & Machine Girl too since their stuff is pretty easy to listen to casually and they have. so much.#ive been listening to some of the stuff i see recommended here which has creates a nice variety #i saved some in a playlist including Zand; lustsickpuppy; Goblin Daycare; My Dead Girlfriend; TWINK OBLITERATOR; and Ada Rook #but generally i default to hip-hop or anything loud or both #i finally started listening to MF Doom recently #and ill listen to anything on youtube recommended that looks interesting (usually that means uhh conventionally bad or ugly if ur boring)#oh shit and most recently ive been listening to dungeon synth cause i started a Rune game and wanted music that wasnt just dark souls #i think Poppet was one i found on a rec post here #oh and i recently decided to check the wayback machine for Isserley because i found her music in october and then she mustve wiped out all #of her social media presence in the next few months so anyway im glad i found that again #oh and also Youth The Rich and also Food House and also Newgrounds Death Rugby and also Yameii Online and als #why did i say all that. sorry. uhh yeah i dont really listen to much music #music

awwww lasagna that means so much coming from the playlist goat 🐐that's a good question. i've definitely thought about it once or twice.

i love @fish-bowl-2's headcanon about edd being extremely out of the loop when it comes to music/pop culture, so i do imagine he gets a lot of his taste from eddy's recommendations. (and eddy's taste was formed by albums he found around the house, especially in his brother's room. but that's besides the point.) anyway for some gay reason, massive attack is what i picture edd and eddy enjoying together. blue lines is more eddy's taste while mezzanine is right up edd's alley - the house m.d. theme song is on there after all.

listening to alice's solitaire playlist and remembering being 15 and so sad. that book will forever be so connected to who i was at that age, not just the story but also the community i found after reading it which sometimes felt like the only people who Got Me. my teenage years were honestly a miserable time but i think looking back the recognition and the friends i found through that book were genuinely one of the main things that made it almost bearable wahh i am so grateful for that silly little book. and i wish i could hug teenage me :(

hear me out: radar by phoebe bridgers as ghost and soap

everyone sees ghost as this cool, powerful, yet mysterious guy and he knows. he knows that they see him as this, he's hyperaware of his reputation and he loves it but what scares him the most is johnny.

they're close, too close. hes falling through, head over heels every time hes with soap. simon and ghost are two different entities, ghost is a lieutenant shrouded in secrecy and is not a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. simon, however, loves cracking dumb jokes, is deathly afraid of snakes, and loves catching people off guard. people admire ghost, they look up to him. simon on the other hand is pitied. to the few that know him they see that scared little boy from a troubled home in manchester. he hates it, he's not scared of anything- hes not afraid he cant be. hes so much more but hes so scared of someone knowing him- knowing simon, but johnny is a different story. he wants johnny to like him- not just ghost but simon as well. being simon is so easy, too easy it makes being ghost hard around him. he wants his attention, his affection, his approval so badly. he wants to let him know simon, but he wants to still be cool. he tries to be ghost around him, but slowly he notices the mask start to slip ever so slightly. he wants to be the flashing light on johnnys radar.
