22 - Traveling Together

In which there is a cold hotel room, Naruto starts to feel more like herself, and there is a shared moment of intimacy between her and Sasuke in the early morning somewhere in Northern Lightning Country.

(Pt. IV of the "Sun and Moon", "Early Mornings", and "Naruto Opening (Diver)" prompts and honestly, an excuse to write 3500+ words of women empowerment pwp.)

23 - Royalty AU

"I’m sorry, but not all of us are related to the King and have the pleasure of being an insolent, pompous, shithead in front of the entire continent without fear of retribution.” She stomped past him, hoping that this would be the last she’d see of Uchiha Sasuke. Her mother tells her a week later that Sasuke has accepted the proposal.

She takes the letter, handwritten by the King himself, and rips it up into tiny square pieces

(A very loose HouseoftheDragon!AU, without the incest, and a dash of arranged marriage.)

24 - Angels and Demons

“Alright kid,” Naruto started midway through the day, rubbing her temples. “Why am I an oni?”

“Because you ensnared, Sasuke-kun! All he does is stare at you all day!”

“Ugh, haven’t you ever heard of like, women supporting women?”

(In which the Daimyo's relative is a massive royal pain in Naruto's ass.)

25 - You Bring Colours to this Bleak World

"Come with me." he commanded in a low and dangerous tone, his red eyes gleaming in the darkness of her room.

She stared at him with disbelief, not knowing whether this was yet another one of her hallucinatory dreams or some sick, twisted joke.

26 - First Love

He sighed heavily, pressing the heels of his palms into his forehead.

"Dobe—I didn't mean—fuck—what are we going to do with all of this? We are going to be eating onigiri for days."

(Sasuke is reminded of the fact that he was the one who fell in love first. Pt.II of the "Going on a date" prompt.)

27 - Side by Side

“You’re free to interpret it as you like.”

“Did it make you think of me?”

Sasuke froze, staring at her with piercing, obsidian orbs.

“Yes,” he admitted lowly. “Is that what you wanted to hear?”

28 - Greek Mythology

“Sasuke, I’m sorry—”

“—F-fuck you.”

He has to keep moving.

(A Hades!AU for the Greek Mythology prompt featuring Zagreus!Naruto and Maegara!Sasuke instead of the classic PersephonexHades adaptation. Another yaoi fic! )

29 - Touch him and I'll kill you!

“—What are you two talking about?” Ino interjected again, eyes darting between her two solemn friends. Sakura looked at Kiba who nodded. The pinkette then cupped her hands around her mouth, whispering loudly, “we think Naruto is pregnant.”

“Oh? Tell me everything.”

(The one where rumours are swirling around Naruto and Sasuke's expanding family. If only they knew the truth was more furry in nature.)

30 - Rockstar/Band/Music AU

“Wait, your training sessions are a secret?” Sakura hissed; eyes narrowed suspiciously as she grabbed another piece of barbeque ribs.

“Jinchuuriki things you normies wouldn’t understand,” she shot back. “Seriously. You think he tells me about his music career when we’re busy beating the shit out of each other or meditating with our Bijuu? Obviously not.”

(In which Naruto lied. She did know, and accidentally became a secret back-up singer for Bee and everyone loses their goddamn minds. Crack treated seriously.)

31 - Winter

“Do you care if I record something?”

“Yes. I don’t want my fucking face all over the internet and especially in your dumbass TikTok’s idiot—which, by the way, I’m still pissed about.”

She turned to him with a raised eyebrow.

“Stupid Tiktoks? Okay, I’m sorry for posting that one video of you without asking, but I guess it's kind of funny that you think they’re stupid, considering you’ve been spying on my profile for months.”

(AKA Naruto becomes TikTok famous in the ninja world and Sasuke has had just about enough of her going viral every other Tuesday. Crack treated seriously.)

Hello! I saw your recent art of sabo, and in the tags you mentioned the big 3 of Shounen. I know it’s One piece and Naruto, but what’s the third? How come you like the character? Lovely artwork, it’s candy for the soul!! Thank you •u•

Ah thank you!!! The big three of shonen (for I guess the previous generation?) are Naruto, One Piece, and Bleach. Naruto and Bleach have already ended but it seems like One Piece is still going quite strong, despite the new generation of shonen anime (including Hero Aca, Demon Slayer, and the third spot is still debated! Probably JJK is my guess though that falls into its own sub genre of shonen dark fantasy I suppose)

Here are my favs! I’ll put the reasons why I like them in the read more because it’s quite long :)

Despite watching Naruto first I could never actually finish it because it was so long so I kind of just osmosed the later parts of shippuden through fanfics and other such media ^^; I think it’s pretty difficult to pick a definitive fav for Naruto because I feel like it tends to fumble a bit of its character writing? I think if I had to pick one maybe young Kakashi but still kind of eh. Maybe I just didn’t watch far enough to get attached

As for Bleach, I picked it up years ago around middle school and then dropped it after the first hundred episodes or so because filler got boring for younger me but then I picked it up again in high school and managed to at least get past aizen! And then I dropped it there because I wasn’t interested in any continuation after what seemed like an already pretty strong ending.

Toshiro is my favorite because he falls into all niches of character tropes that I enjoy including but not limited to: child genius who acts responsible but is still somewhat immature, cold personality along with ice powers but fierce loyalty to close relationships. I especially enjoy child genius characters for the contradictory dichotomy of what is expected of them in terms of maturity and knowledge and the amount of pressure these kinds of characters face and how they handle it! That said, I enjoy him more for the tropes that he falls into and my personal interpretation of him rather than canon writing for him. I think that though canon is an alright base, he doesn’t get much time to shine (character-wise instead of combat-wise).

And Sabo. Oh my goodness I am brainrotting so hard over Sabo right now. The ASL siblings in general have a vice grip on my heart and really are not letting go. There is so much tragedy in the way that they are written, that works because there are three of them. Ace and Luffy spend so much effort trying to save the only brother they have left in the world not realizing that if they go they’ll be the first to go actually because Sabo is still alive, and Sabo could have done so much and changed so much if only he had regained his memories sooner. Why didn’t he remember sooner? I can only assume it’s because he didn’t want to remember, because he grew out his hair to cover a scar he wasn’t proud of, because he was running away from his origins when he lost his memories and maybe that stuck with him. I don’t even remember when Sabo was introduced as a character because I don’t think he was mentioned during Marineford? But he’s such a compelling character because he does so much to save the world and yet is unable to save his own brother! And he’s written to fit with Ace and Luffy incredibly well, being the voice of reason where they can’t be.

Last movie/tv show: Last night we watched the horror movie Talk To Me. We were going to watch Brokeback Mountain again but neither of us felt like crying so we went for being spooked instead. 🙃

Spicy/savoury/sweet: Definitely savory. Every time I eat something sweet I NEED something salty or feel yucky, and I’m actually a baby with spicy despite my heritage. Gimme some cheese and crackers though and I’m so set 👌🏻

so i suppose i’m indulging this hyperfixation for him for like, what, two years now? it started with kakashi but then the time for shippuden came and i was like oh yeah, he’s the one as soon as kiba appeared ajddjfhh

though i did manage to accumulate a pretty decent little shrine in my living room for all things kiba/naruto related during those two years lmao!! my friends always poke fun of it, it’s funny.

(also, i am happy to let you know that the current fic i’m writing about him has just hit 13k words and i’m still not particularly close to finishing it so……. it’s gonna be a good one >:3 hehe)

I have nothing to post, so I'll tell a little about myself.

My name is Maya and I'm almost 18 years old. Of course, I'm still 17, but I'll be 18 in less than 3 months, so don't worry about that.

I like a lot of things! In fact, I love watching anime and doramas, as well as following K-Pop groups♡. I'm a fan of 90+ K-Pop groups, so you can imagine.

K-POP GROUPS

I'll highlight some K-Pop groups that I like!

These are BlackPink, BTS, Twice, Girls' Generation, EXO, 2NE1, f(x), Super Junior, 2PM, BigBang, Red Velvet, Mamamoo, GFriend, Momoland, Got7, Stray Kids, Itzy, SHINee, (G)I-dle, After School, Apink, Lovelyz, Miss A, 4Minute, NewJeans, TXT, Wonder Girls, TVXQ!, Everglow, SS501, Fin.K.L, Baby V.O.X./Baby Vox Re.V, Shinhwa, Kara, T-ara, IVE, S.E.S., and 1TYM (i know the latter is a korean hip-hop group).

Note: I also like some solo singers like BoA, Henry, and Park Bom (ex-2NE1).

Of course there are other groups, but at the moment I don't remember them. When I remember, I'll put them here too.

ANIMES

Now I'm going to talk about my otaku tastes.

I can't say that I've watched that many animes. However, I've watched One Piece, Naruto (Classic and Shippuden), Death Note, Sailor Moon, Futari wa Pretty Cure, Citrus, InuYasha, Tokyo Revengers and Demon Slayer. I didn't finish all of these, but I got to watch a little (or a lot).

I confess that I have a special affection for One Piece, Naruto and Death Note. They are definitely works that saved my life.

DORAMAS

I love doramas! I will contextualize dramas here, like every kind of Asian series/show.

So I'll start with my all-time favorite dorama, Hana Yori Dango, and some of its international versions, which are Boys Over Flowers and Meteor Garden. Also, I also love Alice in Borderland, Girl from Nowhere, All Of Us Are Dead, 1 Litre of Tears (this was the saddest drama I've ever watched in my life, I cried SO MUCH when I saw it...), 14-sai no Haha, and King the Land.

I also like the Thai lesbian movies called Yes or No and Yes or No 2.

SERIES

I've also watched some series, like Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars, The Vampire Diaries, The Walking Dead, Riverdale, Stranger Things, Orange Is The New Black, Euphoria, Game of Thrones (although I haven't finished most of them because I have ADHD) , and many others...

MUSIC

Besides K-Pop, I also like some solo singers like Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, Lana Del Rey, Melanie Martinez, Adele, Mitski, Justin Bieber, The Weeknd, Lady Gaga, Avril Lavigne, Madonna, Akon, Nelly Furtado, and others...

And rock bands... Like Evanescence, Paramore, Pierce the Veil, Slipknot, Linkin Park, Panic! at the Disco, Tokio Hotel and more more...

SOME BONUS

I love Studio Ghibli movies. I love to read and write fanfics, and yes, I consume and will produce NSFW content.

I decided it was about time to make this and just say a few important things.

- About me

Hello, this is Rei (I've been called Hellcifrogs, Hellci, Rei, Ray, Ffreire, Frogs, and I accept all of these.). I'm 27 and my pronouns are they/them (I don't really mind he/she's)

I am Brazilian, but I prefer to keep the blog in english. Bem vindos~

- About NaruFox

So I recently I got back into my teen obsession: Naruto. I took the chance to read the manga again with new eyes, and started doodling many fix it ideas until one day Naruto came out with fox ears and all this AU came to life.

Right now (as I post the end of the chunin exams) I have all the way to the Pein Arc planned. I also know how I want to end the AU already. Drawing it all is what will take time. (June edit: I've finished planning it and I'm about to start post shippuden soon!)

If you've read what I have out, by now you realize I change a lot of things and as the story goes forward there'll be more and more changes. A big one is: There won't be the war arc in NaruFox. If you want to know how I'll include something from this part in the AU, I probably won't.

- About Ships

I plan to have NO ships in the NaruFox. Not even my personal favorites. Yes, because I’m too old for ship wars, but mostly because that’s just not my focus for the AU. I am totally fine with you tagging the posts you find cute as the ships you like and see, but officially there won't be any romance.

Naruto ships that felt canon to me: SasuNaru, InoSaku, KakaGai, ShikaTema.

My personal favorite ships: InoSaku and KarinSaku, NaruHina and SasuNaru, Sasusai and SasuKarin, KakaGai, TemaTen and GaaLee. There are probably more, if I find it cute enough I'll ship it.

- About Boruto

Please don't. I will not answer anything related to it, since I have no interest or knowledge about it.

IM CRYING, IM GLAD YOUR OPEN TO MY SHIKANARU CAUSE EVERYBODY I TRY AND TALK TO ABOUT THIS SHIP DOESNT CARE I actually am making a story i just got to get it all together. IMA SHARE IT WITH YOU WHEN I GOT IT TOGETHER it's really just me changing some events in the story and making it where Naruto and Shikamaru end up together. My plans are to have Naruto end up with Shikamaru, I love Sai/Sakura but Ino loves Sakura and i don't understand the Ino/Sai i'm still watching the anime it's just i never finished my run so i started reading the manga back to the part im at and im at ep 145 of shippuden i think? I'm not allowing myself to finish watching it until my story is caught up to where i am. Back to what i was saying I'm thinking of making it Ino/Sakura/Sai but it's more of "This is my girlfriend Sakura and her boyfriend Sai" my reasoning for this is when Ino witnessed Sasuke pull that guys arms out the socket as a kid it traumatized her, made her scared of him and Sai apparently looks like Sasuke, they were saying he looked like Sasuke a little bit in the anime if i remember correctly. it just creeps her out. I don't think Ino really ever liked Sasuke she just liked him cause that's what was cool when she was a kid so the whole rivalry with Sakura was just built on that idea. I was rewatching some scenes and i think, ok i gotta back track a little bit. I headcanon Ino's famliy is the most chill with same-sex stuff, so like if their daughter was gay they wouldn't mind. Ino puts this thinking in Sakura's head but Sakura's not as understanding as a kid and thinking it's weird cause different households (Not saying her parents were homophobic, it's just never been brought up to her before) Ino finally realizes she's in love with Sakura after she comes to her rescue when he hair gets cut that's the whole of what i wanted to say. So from that point on Ino likes Sakura, Sakura still has her feelings for Sasuke and Naruto's crush on Sakura has gone. I noticed he still asked her on dates but ultimately before and after Sasuke leaves it really hits Naruto that Sakura holds something special to Sasuke. Tsunade even notices it when she watches him leave the room to give them a moment after she heals him, Naruto walks out the room and says he wants her to look at Lee but his body language said "Oh im not needed here" and his feelings looked a little hurt. Another thing Neji developing a crush on Shikamaru before and during the timeskip because those two are the smartest in the group meaning they must work together alot even if they weren't in the same squad, Chunin Neji and Chunin Shikamaru being paired up alot is something i look at with shining eyes. But Neji, he notices Shikamaru's crush on Naruto so backs off, this leads him to back to Lee cause i'm a huge Neji/Lee shipper as well. Now, i've been reading this fic i'll include it here (Love Is A Battlefield by MadamZenobia on AO3) my endgame ships are

Ino/Sakura/Sai

As for Hinata i'm not throwing her away, just changing her motifs a little i guess? She has a crush on Naruto yes, after him being away for so long she has time to work on herself and find herself more. She does like him but it isn't what's going to make her happy. It isn't because i don't like Naruto/Hinata it's cute it's alright but it doesn't make sense even if i haven't seen the movies or episodes that show it. I feel like Hinata needs to do some self reflecting. Naruto is a huge inspiration to her, she's watched him train, become who he is but those two with a family together isn't something i can see happening even if it canonly happened, when i first got into this i didn't see it coming. So in my story Hinata is happy living her best life being single, watching her friends be happy together has brought her so much peace, even watching Naruto be happy with Shikamaru. I feel pretty neutral about Sai/Ino, not because I think they are madly in love or anything but in Boruto I like the dynamic I saw of them, plus inojin is my favorite kid so I'm biased here… But I'm also super down for a Sai/Sakura/Ino, with mostly Sakura being the bridge between them!!!

For me, Ino would be a lesbian who had to deal with a lot of compulsory heterosexuality, so she forced herself to have a crush on Sasuke when they were kids because that's just what girls are supposed to do, but after a small breakdown after a fight with sakura she talks to her parents and surprisingly it's them that tell her that she might have a crush on her and they tell her that it's okay if she feels that way and that there is nothing wrong with her.

I think it's pretty accurate that Sakura would be a little reluctant to accept that, but eventually, she does understand that she's bisexual and things become a little easier for her to figure out what she wants and who she wants to be! [Discovering non-monogamy/polyamory is a whole other can of worms so I'm not gonna get into that here unless you want me to!!]

I'M SO GLAD YOU BROUGHT UP NEJI AND SHIKAMARU. Okay I know they're not your main pairing but a few years ago I read a fic of them that to this day has a place in my brain, I will leave linked it here if you're interested

But yes, for our shikanaru endgame purpose, Neji is very perceptive so he kind of always knew he never really had a chance here, he backs off, and eventually, his feelings for someone else grow which is how we get to neji/lee!!

Also thank you for the fic rec, I'll try to give it a read soon <3 Sasuke and suigetsu is such an interesting ship, I never got into them fully but their dynamic is so fun!

I like your take on Hinata, for me, i ship her with Kiba, he was so in love with her it's crazy, I don't know if you noticed the signs but they would have so much potential, honestly a throuple with shino would work too. But I also really like your take on her talking it out with shikamaru and realizing that her feelings for Naruto lean more toward admiration than actual romantic love, would love for her to have a happy life, would also really adore seeing her become the head of the Hyuuga clan and start making the changes Naruto promised Neji he would do it (and he never actually did it)!!

Since this asshole @theonephun211 (Aka my fiance) decided to watch ALL of Naruto from the OG, Shippuden and into Boruto ((and got me somehow back into the series/fandom again, rewatching the entire show WITH him) I decided to share this old ass drawing I'm still kind of proud of despite years later (This was made back in April 17, 2020) It was for a Narusaku zine thing-

I think I finished this around Novembr of last year based on the Evillous Chronicles series of songs from Vocaloid (More specifically the Servant of Evil verse with Len Kagamine song cuz I'm absolutely obsessed with the song even though it always gets me so damn emotional and crying lol)

That's right kids.

The word ANIME is on the title.

Now that finals are over.. I've returned to watching anime..

something I hadn't done since…. December. Truth be told.

Anyhow. before that… the usual manga rants.

Naruto.. is… well.. nothing's happening…just flashbacks that made me REMEMBER my mourning. Next week though, something will happen. Hopefully. ANyway..

BLEACH…. STILL AWESOME. Urahara is AWESOME. He is my favorite character. #1 favorite in BLEACH. AWEEESOME…… ..his future's not looking too good though. but. oh well. i him. He is AWESOME. I think he'll survive though. ….REALLY hope so. anyway. [or i will forever hate JUMP since aparently.. JUMP mangas hate me so much they take my fave characters away from me….. JK]I JUMP too.. and LALA.. a bit. lol…. i'm more on the "Action" side rather than the "shoujo" type..anyway.

well. HONESTLY. i have a list of animes i NEED to watch. i've been compiling them in my head since the day i stopped watching anime in December.

so. using my random choosing method.

I chose to watch Gundam SEED and Gundam SEED Destiny first.

because it's the Gundam series my best friend watches and like… because KIRA is the protagonist's name.

comment on it? sigh I still like Wing the best.

THough now I am thoroughly convinced that I do, indeed, LOVE the Gundam series. Regardless of the setting and the story line.

I dunno.. I like watching military/army anime.. it's just weird.

And for some strange reason? I ACTUALLY prefer them in English. but Japanese is OK too.. <--can't find any SEED DESTINY in English. damn.

anyway.

so. yeah.

the next anime i'm gonna watch….. well. i haven't decided yet.

I might catch up on Shippuden and BLEACH.. MAYBE.

…naaah. so. there. if u have suggestions on what i should watch next.. tell me. ^^

oh. Vampire Knight is next. LOL.. forgot about that.

but since it's not that much, and i could probably finish that in a day until i wait for the next one…

Oh I love those questions😋 !

Naruto is a long love story. I know it since I'm like 12 or 13 years old. It's the first anime who makes me want to read more mangas, so it always has a special place in my heart. after I graduate, the anime was into a long list of fillers episodes so I went into reading the scans. But I'm not really good at waiting every week. I need everything at once. So I put naruto on hold for years.

During the Covid lockdown, I discovered that the whole anime was on netflix and also that the manga was finished for years and Boruto exist ! So first, I thought I had a good memory and I started binge watching from where I was years ago : in the very beginning of the 4th shinobi war where Naruto is hidden in the turtle island (so mind you, I have no idea of who the real Madara was!!). To realise I was lost. Then I start again from episode 01 and I discover that the story was rich and there was so many references I didn't get when I was still a teen that I can only understand deeply now that I'm an adult. I think that's why I prefer now the Founders era than Naruto era. That's the only moment where the main characters Madara and Hashirama act for a bigger goal than just being acknowledge. They fight for something who transcend them and consume them.

So what did I like about Madara first? Well I think I was first just too traumatised to comprehend what the hell was going on😂. For me his entrance was so iconic and a total game changer. We went from a regular ninja manga to some sort of intergalactic meccha series in particular when he fights against Hashirama lol. Before him, we thought that Pain and Itachi were the most powerful shinobi who ever exist to realise they are peanuts compare to him when he's just running through a whole army without using a single ninjutsu. And then, mangekyou, rinnegan, meteorites, mokuton!???? No... I thought we should have stop there and rename the story Madara Shippuden. He stole the show...☠️

It's actually Obito's flashback who makes me sympathize better with the character. In his old days he speaks like someone who've been through hell and from there, I got a real interest in his past, what makes him go this lonely road... unfortunaly Hashirama's flashback was not enough to quench my curiosity😭.

There is many characters that I appreciate a lot in the series but for a true fav, like a ride or die.... honestly there is only Madara. I see no one else!

Lol… to be honest, my life last year was sort of somber. Had a lot of things happening in my personal life that made me sort of have to grow up very quickly and it was a hard transition. I’m still working every day to get over it, but I’m slowly healing as more time goes on. 🖤

I loooooove pasta! Penne vodka is one of my faves.

So, because of what I mentioned in 7, I sort of started regressing into old hobbies and interests to get my mind off of what I was going through personally, and because of that I decided to finally finish Naruto Shippuden. Then I remembered how hot Shikamaru was and looked up some Seven Minutes in Heaven fics because I used to love them in middle school and was feeling nostalgic 😂. Then I found @tired-biscuit and @delirious-donna on Wattpad, realized it was a trash site, and decided to join tumblr to follow them!

They both inspired me to start writing smut, and now here we are! Like quite literally, I don’t know if I would have fallen back into love with writing if not for Naruto and silly 2D men smut, haha. So I owe this community a lot and am grateful so many people have interacted with and enjoyed my works. This is a hobby, but also a distraction from my grief, so every single one of you are amazing and mean the world to me! 💜

Well I literally just finished the second book in the Burning Kingdoms series, The Oleander Sword, by Tasha Suri. Now I'm currently on re:Zero volume 20.

6. Currently watching?

I've been rewatching Naruto. So much Naruto. Way too much Naruto tbh in less than six months I've plowed through the first part and most of shippuden (on episode 367 meow.) Although it helps that I'm skipping episodes that only contain filler content.

Started the new Trigun reboot and I really enjoy the use of CGI in it so far, tbh it's way better than I had anticipated and arguably, I think it looks better than the current Berserk reboot. However the pacing in the new Trigun feels, a little whack at times.

I'm also slowing watching The Untamed, as I can't get enough of Wei Ying and the actor playing him does such a wonderful job (same with Lan Zhan's actor)

The motivation to repot my one plant that is in desperate need of being removed from the terra cotta one I got it in before it dries out entirely because I can't be bothered to ever to remember to water it regularly.

Atm, a like blue-y green-y grey-y mess, with a hint of orange. Usually just depends on the lighting but I've never had a consistent results

Stupid luck. I don't win contests, or prizes, but I have the best luck when it comes to procrastinating something and still getting it done with the results I needed just in the nick of time. Getting my driver's license is a good example as it was only a week out from expiring after my booked drive test. Which I booked during covid, and when everyone was struggling to get booked within a reasonable amount of time, but I managed to luck out with the one time slot left available in my city.

Writer's craft. It was the creative writing course offered at my school, but I mainly liked it because I had spare before it so I would always go home and get stoned before coming back to write lol

Ever since I was a kid I wanted to be an author. It's something I still kinda struggle with due to something stupid that was said to me when I was 12, but I'm overcoming that.

Hey! I really like your posts about sasusaku and your interpretation of their relationship, it’s very similar with the way that I understand them, too. I’d like to know what are your thoughts about how their dynamic could have been on shippuden, since we had such few scenes between them, and what kind of scenes you would have added, maybe (aside from the fight scene that we all know should have absolutely happened, but the world was not ready and kishimoto was too much of a coward, I’m never forgiving him for that 😭)

First of all, thank you anon for this great ask! You have great taste ;). All of my ss posts are essentially my sleep-deprived thoughts typed on my tumblr screen because i use this site as my wip list :) It's great to see someone understand my incoherent wordings.

I'll keep the rest under the cut:

The problem with sasusaku is not a problem with the ship, but the deep rooted issue with kishi (derogatory) nerfing his own characters and throwing away their growth. As great of an artist he is, he's awful at execution of anything that requires extensive thinking. Add the underlying sexism (Japanese sexism to be exact) and you get the clusterfuck i.e., sasusaku.

I am a bit harsh on him when I can admit it must have been tiring to continue with this shitshow for ages especially when the publishers catering to the dudebros were pushing for better sales. If you compare early shippuden era to the later one, you'll be surprised at the lack of resemblance between the vibes. It's not easy being a famous manga artist of an anime like Naruto and I do hold some sympathy.

However, kishi is severely at fault over the romances in the manga. For someone boasting about bonds, the bonds between males and females conjured nothing but laughter.

Now, I'll be honest: I like sasuke and sakura before I like sasusaku and that's the entire reason why I started shipping them in the first place. Their characters are so complex and unlike Naruto, they don't shed these complexities in a last bid effort to be some sort of a savior.

I think a lot of people misunderstand both sakura and sasuke mostly because they don't look beneath the fact that she's a healer and he's an avenger. I find that interpretation weak and boring. Sasusaku is interesting to me because it's an unexplored story. Imagine taking a book out of the library, a rusty book with a solid spine, and when you open it, you find a delicious story that captures your heart. You turn it over for more only to find pages ripped off. Not all the pages are gone, but enough that you start finishing that book in your head, a lack of closure haunting you. That, my friend, is Sasusaku at its core.

It's soft yet cruel and we see them succumb to their worst demons and still you don't forget the only heartfelt apology bestowed upon to the person you've tried to kill. It's delicious!

I don't have any complaints about genin!sasusaku. They peaked there as a pairing. It was a perfect ending and while I have loads of thoughts on Sakura's character pre-timeskip, she was painfully human and normal.

Post-timeskip is... tricky. The problem I think resides with the lack of inner monologues given to Sasuke. It's almost like the creator doesn't know what he's thinking. While Sasuke doesn't hide behind lies, he keeps his cards close to his heart. As the story progressed, this got worse and I think this big mistake caused the entire series to suffer.

Dudebros might have been happy with Sasuke, but I wanted more Sasuke himself and less other's interpretations of Sasuke. I think that's why I prefer Sakura's interpretation of Sasuke: there's something honest and open about how she sees him. She loves him yet she doesn't hide him behind fllowery language.

Shippuden could have been a lot better if Sasuke's thoughts were shown. Continuously, I felt like the creator was trying to delude him because Itachi was a monster and he loved Sasuke, and according to the morals of Naruto, those two can't coexist. I would have dropped the entire Kaguya storyline and focused more on Sakura's role in the village.

Okay, okay, another pet peeve of mine: I hate it when Naruto is told to be Sasuke's brother. One of the best things Naruto gave me was the bond these two shared. Assigning labels cheapen them and while assigning labels to Sasuke's relationship with Sakura would have made SS far more exciting, Naruto and his relationship suffered for it. As a result, I also hate the reincarnation as brothers thing.

You know what I would have liked? Sakura taking up the position of a Senju in the story. Naruto doesn't need a half-assed Senju storyline when he already deals with his mom's Uzumaki heritage. Sakura, on the other hand, would have been perfect for it.

Until Itachi's death, there's no change. After, Madara informs Sasuke and starts spewing shit about Senju. Imagine Madara telling him that the current Hokage should be displaced. And then you can have an epic fight between SS (btw Sakura will lose unless Sasuke is at a disadvantage. As much as I love my girl, Sasuke is a better fighter. Sakura's skills are more in the research and healing department and as great as she is, she hasn't trained for revenge.)

I have loads of ideas lmao but a fight and Sakura's involvement with the corruption are two things I think would have made the series much more sensible and better. Oh and I would have removed the second confession scene and the subsequent genjutsu. Like only keep them if you want to show how traumatized Sakura is gonna be after that.

Anyway, sorry for rambling lol. I have a lot of ideas and no control over Naruto so my sadness knows no bounds.
