Are you kidding? I'm already more than happy (and still in a lot of shock and awe) that a network show in amerika, about first responders, has more than just one (1) queer-identified person and more than just two (2) p.o.c. characters in the main cast. I'm fucking estatic. Years of my life and attention and empathy being poured into something that's pouring back into me, and I haven't been turned off, as a queer fan, yet.
Back to the point: I adore Tommy, But listen...
That doesn't change my feelings of buddie being my preferred ship. Whether it comes to be or not, I just think they're neat, and it'll probably fuck me up two ways from Sunday (in the best way) if they were endgame.
I don't understand why there's pressure to conform to any ship real or hoped for.
Why are some people mad that some buddie shippers are still rooting for buddie?
Why are some buddie shippers trashing tommy so hard (not just in the "my ship is better" way)?

The FUCK do some of you mean that we all have to get behind Buck x Tommy because it's finally good queer rep??!? We have Hen and Karen and Josh, and we even had Michael.
MULTIPLE queer stories have been told to us as we've watched the team attempt to help multiple queer people.
Buck and Tommy are not the end all of good representation for the queer community on this show (unless you only care about Buck). I adore Tommy but guilt tripping people to root for them because otherwise you think they dont care about the queer community? What?!

No exactly a hc but a funny visual i think about sometimes: older young justice gets caught in a storm on a misson or smth and of course kon can use ttk to stay dry the entire time, cassie has short enough hair that it dries pretty quickly, bart can basically put himself on spin dry. And then theres tim,,,, sopping wet cat of a man. His cape is heavy. If he didnt already have it tied back his hair would be in his face.

draco: imprecise and (very) impatient in baking, precise and patient in potions
harry: (sorta) precise and (semi) patient in baking, (very) imprecise and (very) impatient in potions
drarry are opposites despite both activites being exact sciences. harry becomes so good at baking that eventually he just eyeballs + improvises the recipe, it makes draco so ⁉️⁉️ this is draco standing in the kitchen, mad as hell about not being able to bake, only to watch harry ponder a measuring cup, shrug, and dump a whole bag of flour into a bowl ⬇️
he's even MORE MAD when the cookies come out PERFECT. how? HOW?? after a few times (with draco stewing and glaring at harry's very chaotic method of baking), harry admits he created a spell that makes everything perfectly measured out. safe to say draco is FUMING and impressed for 2 days.
baking should come just as easy to draco but it doesn't click (initially). he always ends up with flour all over him. measurement cups and spoons are confusing, especially when recipes can be in cups or grams. he gets impatient while waiting for room temp butter so he mega overheats it with a charm, burning it. he substitutes tartar sauce for cream of tartar and it turns out horrible 😭
meanwhile, potions is harry's worst enemy. he's improved thanks to his more hands-on teacher (cough, draco wrapping his arms around harry to help him stir appropriately, but nothing they do is appropriate, cough). even so, he's damaged draco's potions lab 8 times so far because of his messy way of doing things.
he can brew decently if he 200% concentrates, but he's literally dating a potions master who can brew 300x better than him, critiques harry if he cuts at the wrong angle, and so outrageously attractive when he brews that it's distracting. it's pointless to even do potions, yet harry likes to make one for draco once in a while, just to give back and take care of him. even if he spends 2 weeks trying (and redoing) draco's skincare potions by secretly brewing at night, just to impress and surprise draco... he WILL do it!

you’re a sporty person. I have a question. I used to enjoy working out and trying out new sports, but in the last 2 years I’ve been really uninterested in, well, pretty much anything. This is gonna sound stupid but I feel like one of the biggest barriers to exercise for me is that I have to put on different clothes to do it. I just can’t stand the inconvenience. like for example if I’m in bed in my pajamas, now I have to get changed. If I’m already dressed for the day, now I have to put on a whole different outfit. drives me crazy. anyway, have you or anyone you follow ever dealt with this and do you have any tips?
That's not stupid at all! I would bet it's very common, but I only know for sure it's very common FOR ME, and yeah it absolutely majorly sucks. Especially in the winter if you're a northern hemisphere person, because you have to put on extra layers of gear in the morning. Sometimes just the idea of putting on a bra feels harder than running 5k. That's honestly why I have been working out in the afternoon / evening a lot this past year even though I do better in the morning usually — if I've already been out and about for hours I find it easier to get motivated for a workout, but if it's the first thing in the morning then I keep putting it off.
Anyway some tips that may or may not help:
Just get some fresh air. Walk to a window, a balcony is excellent if you have it, if you're on the ground floor then just step outside. Close your eyes and breathe. It's a nice reminded that there's a whole world outside and you just have to lace up your shoes
Find a fun / low effort exercise routine you can do in your bedroom in your pajamas, just to get a move on. Like one of those music video choreography dance routines. A 10 minutes yoga flow on a mat. A door-mounted pull-up bar. Personally, I love this 5 mins mobility routine. I don't even break a sweat but it gets me moving!
Blast music! I have a playlist of songs that get me going and it's 300x easier to get ready while listening to it
If you're an audiobook / podcast person, have a designated audiobook you only listen to while you're working out. Believe me, it helps! I have some recs for good audiobooks if you want them.
Make it a reward system! Like, there's a pizza place right next to my gym. I can get a treat once I'm there, I don't even need to go INSIDE the gym I can just walk by with my gym bag and grab a slice. But then naturally once I'm outside the gym I end up working out before getting that pizza slice
Workout buddies if you have them! Or even just messaging your group chat that you're gonna do X for accountability
Don't think about tying up your shoes as the prelude to a workout, just think of it as tying up your shoes. Same for any other layers. You're not getting ready for anything, you're just taking it step by step <<<< This is what my therapist keeps saying. Unfortunately I'm a chromic overthinker but sometimes it works
IDK anon I hope these help! It's less about exercise and more about procrastination, unfortunately, and I'm soso bad at it so I completely understand — but ultimately IME it comes down to finding lifehacks that make you work best.

I'm perfectly aware that the place to put this post is linkedin and not Tumblr.com (although i might make a more professional-looking version).
Anyway, I'm horrified by the amount of cyber attacks that are happening in the last few days. Especially because a couple of these are really big companies, and one would think they have an IT department that knows how to do their job. Even better, they should have at least one person that deals with cybersecurity.
I know that security operations centers (where we use very expensive systems to monitor the networks and the assets of the companies, plus we often investigate previous security incidents and produce intelligence reports) are expensive. I work in one and it's not the solution that works for everyone. A small company with few employees definitely cannot afford a SOC, but a big corporation? That would be nice (again, it's not the only solution and every client is different, you need to tailor the cybersecurity solution to the client).
But a videogame studio? I would expect them to take security seriously. And not only because of the data involved, but industrial espionage is a thing (although it's difficult to prove and it happens rarely that it's taken to a court, however it does happen), but it's a risk. A worldwide clothing company? A fucking bank? Sure.
The problem with certain things it's that "it won't happen to me". Until it does. And you end up paying 300x than you would be paying at least a cybersecurity consultant to prevent the attack.
Even better, a lot of the simplest measures are free to implement. No USB from home policy. Disabling local administrator accounts. Implement a strong password policy. Implement a blacklist for suspicious websites (and also, maybe stop downloading cracked software if you don't know where to find reputable sources? I see you trying to download that CoD aimbot, how embarrassing)
Implement a strong antispam policy (which is fundamental, as this is very very often the access point - you send a targeted spam email to a company with 3k employees and I can guarantee you that at least one will download the malicious file or insert the credential on the fake office 365 website, it's just what it is.)
But most people won't, because "it's annoying" and users don't want to put the effort to like, keep their fucking job and remember a 12 character password(yes, a company can suffer so much damage from a cyber attacks that it might even close the business, and yes, I had to fight with clients that refuse to change their AD admin accounts set in 2015 even when I told them about a potential leak) Not to mention that the data stolen often is the employees data. And you don't want your identity stolen by a criminal, do you?
And the danger when these attacks are carried against hospitals. People can die if the whole network shuts down because no one cared to implement basic cybersecurity.
And it's not true that organisations don't have the budget. We both know you are lying lol.
Don't get me wrong, there is nothing foolproof, there will always be a certain amount of risk.
I just expect people to use some good sense and I'm often disappointed lol.

Business ramble to address a handful of replies (things are fine I'm excited + tired)
If you have never designed products: the thing to know is that it is very difficult with a lot of variables. I rambled last night about switching card sizes -- this is baked into the scheduling, it's happened before over the last 2 years in deciding how Netherworld Post will work
The cost difference between printing a 1/2 sheet of Size A, and a 1/2 sheet of Size B (smaller than Size A), is very small pocket change. Which is good!
It means I can lower the retail price (encouraging sales) while maintaining a baseline profit (NPost thrives) while lowering the weight of a parcel going out the door, decreasing postage costs -- sometimes. Postage is not a scoop of candy where each piece contributes to the price, it's a pile of buckets.
But also do you remember "the pear wiggler" meme?
Marginally smaller cards use different envelopes which means the fulfillment envelope needs to be different to reduce risk of damage in transit and any accessories (Netherworld Post Office is going to sell faux postage stamps) need to be remeasured to ensure they fit and ten thousand other tiny variables
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY: the penciled art looks 300x better in the new size. The proportions are simply more aesthetically pleasing.
I once saved a client about $15k/year by reducing a page size by 1/4" (63.5cm)
It meant their printing bill dropped like a rock, and the cards were a few grams (fraction of an ounce) lighter, which meant some of the times they could eek under the postage tier bucket, and pay less
When you get it right, things run like clockwork. The key is to take your time and get it right.
This is a thing I find a lot of folks starting out or early in their career struggle with -- I do not say this in condemnation, I say this to myself + in general, "have patience with with folks starting out."
I've become more and more reluctant to give career advice because if I fully open the book of atty I have to prologue with "start about 2 years experimenting time + a career handling this sort of thing + enough money to experiment as needed"

Hello! I just want to say that I am immensely enjoying your fic (starlings in winter) and you have a very superb writing! Granted I am only on chapter one, as I am taking my time to read it and I've been busy, yet your Dick is so captivating and nuanced that I just know the rest of the chapters are gonna be so good too!
And this is kind of unrelated but, do you have any author that you can or would recommend, especially one who writes Dick centered fics? I have scoured your bookmarks and there are many fics that I have read too, but I do think that bookmarking fics is different with having favorite authors, because you can just bookmark one fic from an author and never check the rest of their fics (sorry if this seems so random!)

Reading her stories has probably made me 300x better at character writing and I’m obsessed. She’s got lots of batman stories up, and quite a few are dick-centric!
danishsweethearts is always a DELIGHT, especially if you enjoy reverse robins aus! Everything they’ve posted is so much fun, most of it is focused on interpersonal dynamics & character which I find super cathartic to read.
Ptelea has a lot of fun stuff posted!! They focus on both dick and jason, and I’m usually not a big jason fan myself but i like the way he’s written here. I’m a big fan of specifically the shelter verse stories and 70 days after groundhog day!
dustorange writes mostly dick-centric stories and ohhhh my god they’re SO well written. Like my god. similar to husborth, their prose & writing style and their way of telling a story…… holy shit dude its just a masterclass in character writing every time you read a fic. highly recommend, especially if you love dick!

[Magi rewatch] Episode 6: Warrior Tribe Fanalis [Part 1]
I feel like part of the reason I'm just UGH about having to do this, besides the obvious stuff I've mentioned 300x times, is the fact that I really want to get to the later arcs, which includes the upcoming Balbadd Arc. So I'm just sitting here. Impatiently. Bc I want to be there already, y'know? Oh well.
Also, I'm considering something a little different, partially bc reading the entire arc, and then watching the entire arc is kind of... Hmmm. It is a bit tedious, I won't lie. Plus it feels kinda weird to just do it twice one after another. The idea is, then, to so it more or less at the same time: x number of chapters, then the episode that covers them. It's both because I think it'd be a better experience for me, AND because the upcoming arcs can get pretty long. Like, we're talking 45 chapters/11 episodes for the Balbadd Arc, it just makes sense not to go through it twice. No matter how much I like these arcs, it's just too fucking long to do it that way.
Anyway, PSA over, time for the actual episode.
Hello there, character who's never appeared in this anime.
I usually don't comment on this stuff, but damn, I wish more characters were allowed to have dark skin in this series. Like, it'd make more sense, like, for geography-biology reasons. But lemme tell you, Ohtaka and geography... Let's just say it's not her strong suit. Have you ever seen how she draws the world maps and the Dark Continent specifically? It makes no fucking sense. The best explanation I can provide is that it's just people imagining how the DC looks, since no one was there, as in, beyond the Rift. They're just guessing.
Anyway. Geography rant over.
In the manga their clothes look more SIndria-like bc of the lack of colors, but here you're kinda wondering. But still, my money's on Sindria bc they specifically mention that their country has no slaves, and the two notable no-slavery countries are Balbadd and Sindria. And their clothes don't look very Balbadd. Seriously, sans the colors, it looks very Sindria, actually. Then again, do all Sindria people have to wear white? So it still makes sense, I guess.
Also, seeing Leila again makes me miss Thousand Miles a bit. But that story frustrated me too much at some point. Mostly bc I've lost motivation for it, but, like, aggressively, and just kept on getting notifications for it, even though I've had some stories I was actually proud of, but nope, only that one got the attention. It became annoying over time & I ended up deleting the story completely. In case somebody recalls that story & always wondered wtf happened to it.

Also, really, Mor, bc when Aladdin says it, it's Moru-san, but if you go with Morg it's some sort of Morugi-san. Pretty different.
Also, man, Leila's voice just dosen't fit her in my head.

Honestly, I really love the lightning in this anime. They make choices I disapprove of, and the animation can get damn sloppy (and art, too), but the colors are always awesome.
Also, wonder how things would've gone if Morgiana stayed with these two.

So I think the shitty thing about going to therapy is that I've had such terrible luck with finding good therapists, but I also know such great therapists out there who are my friends in other capacities. Truthfully it could be that I like them because they're my friends and we have things in common whereas like, it's been like pulling teeth to find anything in common with therapists I've actually had in therapy situations without them truly shoving things down my throat and them being like, oh, didn't work? Well you didn't try.
Anyways, I'm taking a break from therapy because it's so goddamn tiring to BE TREATED like this. I'm taking a break from therapy; not from taking care of my mental health.
I've like like 300x better luck with self-help workbooks (like therapy and science-backed, not random Tech Bro self-improvement) just because it caters to my own processing speed, getting to just slow down without being rushed, etc.
So I'm focussing on that.
