The Chanin Building, on East 42nd St., was considered a mighty skyscraper when it was built in 1929. But the Chrysler Building, diagonally across the street, was begun the same year, and dwarfed the Chanin. This picture was taken from the unfinished Chrysler in 1929.
“My dress is from Beacon’s Closet in Brooklyn, the jacket from a vintage store in San Francisco, the boots from a thrift shop in Berkeley, my earrings are from The Thrifty Hog in Manhattan, and the necklace I got today at the Grand Bazaar flea market. My style is influenced a lot by my friends and my partner, Quan, they all have incredible taste. I wear whatever makes me feel comfortable and special.”

Btw I will literally never get over the theatre des vampires existing in wwdits that’s so cool. And really funny considering that not only is all vampire media canon in wwdits but all the actors are also vampires. They should’ve had antonio banderas constructing an elaborate play to sentence the staten island vampires to death

While frog iconography can be found in many cultures around the world, the Southwest Culture Area is one of the few I've found where tadpoles also regularly appear. I'll be featuring these two pieces in my presentation on frog iconography in the Pacific NW & American SW at SECAC2023 next week!
I love spooky forests, and creepy lights in deserts, and idyllic suburban towns hiding dark secrets as much as the next person but WHERE IS THE URBAN SUPERNATURALISM?!
Give me spooky sludge living in pipes, abandoned lots between buildings that maybe were abandoned for a reason, street performers playing songs strangely familiar late into the night. I want urban/new york city gothic!
