#i draw #the narcissist cookbook #really fun show Overall!!#like the ideal narcissist cookbook setlist. a bunch of my favs. so cool #i really wanted to figure out how to get a lyric quote to look alright with this composition and i COULDNT do it #it woulve been 'as the heavens beneath us convulse and contract to be near us' if i couldve made it work. fav lyric #side note on the piece: i didnt MEAN to make it the pansexual flag. i do this a lot. pink yellow and blue just look so good together whoops #i am not pan just a real big fan of their flag Apparently #inspired by 2 album covers! eden disorder and conditional love #i wouldve made a physical piece or doodle to give @ the merch table but i only knew i was GOING to the show about 24 hours before it #i was the guy who got to come because my friend broke up with his gf lol. got slid into the schedule very last minute #this is the first concert ive actually gotten to say hi to the band(s) at! really glad i got to come! not glad about WHY but yknow #silver linings

Listen, evil villains having terrifying powers is great, don't get me wrong.

But by far the funniest thing is neutral to heroic characters having terrifying powers.

Like you can guess why a malicious sadist who wants to blow up the moon would know power word: peel your skeleton, but why does a random librarian know it?

#incidentally I end up playing this character type a lot in customizable rpgs #because I have major people pleaser problems #but also I delight in being able to use fucked up dark magic #so half the time I'll build my power fantasy horror lich from a death metal album cover #and then they will do the sidequest to make sure ALL the orphans have flower crowns #(the other half of the time they look like Maria from The Sound Of Music until the death magic comes out)

being some mysterious cosmic force/spirits that both metaphorically and literally haunt the Whispering Pines studio playing all these songs as a way of capturing/reliving the stories that created them for a reason we will never fully understand

Literally just being some random cover band

#being some potentially cool lore element vs being just some guys #I know they probably don’t really matter in terms of lore and are just there to vibe and play funky tunes #but it’s SO funny if you think of them as an in-universe band and how fucked up it is they keep covering songs with supernatural backstorie #esp if it’s just a coincidence. maybe they looked at world ender and went 'wow what a cool symbol for people's rage against injustice'#despite it being about a very real man who went on an infamous and well documented murder spree #imagine them making an album that accidentally turns out to be about the worst night of one guy's life #either way i'd like to think they just showed up at the studio one day and tubbs just accepted it #some assistant comes up and asks 'hey who the fuck are those guys'#and tubbs just goes 'oh those are the boys!'
