Yeah we're def back in the 1989 era of hyper interest in Taylor, hyper criticism of her. Kinda dreading where all this is going-
Yeah. I was talking to a friend about it the other day, and I think it'll be fine. Not pleasant, but fine.
For one thing, Taylor is a lot less available to the world at large than she was back then. Back then, she was really active on social media and still used it like social media, more or less, so she was directly exposed to whatever people said. She was also a lot younger and less experienced with that level of fame, which makes a huge difference.
But she took a step back, closed ranks, and set boundaries. She knows who her real friends are. She has a solid support system of people she trusts, she has her career and fans that have been here through it all, she has a terrifyingly competent PR rep, and she's far less bothered by the opinions of randoms online.
I think it will also help Swifties that we've seen all this shit before. The hate is a lot more transparent this time around, IMO, as is the flimsy façade people hide it behind. A lot of the stupid statements being made are just rehashes of old bullshit. Most of it is so old that there are literal albums full of songs written about it.
It's a lot easier to roll your eyes and keep truckin' when it's so blatantly obvious that the person speaking is not, in fact, a warrior for justice and truth fighting the good fight. Just a troll with an excuse, climbing on a tired bandwagon that has seen better days, throwing bricks.
And you know what Swifties do with bricks, baby! We build castles. 💗

Heey, I wanna know more about your relationship with Blind Channel, if you're willing to discuss it hehe. I don't know the band besides the things you post, but you seem really invested and I'm wondering what's behind all that love! Asking because I find it's so interesting getting to know how band managed to lure such an active fan!
Hey! Of COURSE I'm willing to discuss Blind Channel, that's what I do!! 😅 I wasn't expecting this ask to come form YOU though, of all my mutuals, but I'm happy to answer!
I don't know how much you know about Eurovision Song Contest, but Blind Channel representing Finland in it in 2021 was what started it all (I can't remember hearing about them before that, but then again I'm not really following the Finnish music scene). I really liked their Eurovision song but it took me a while to listen to their other songs. I guess I was scared I might not like them that much, because by the time I finally did I had already become invested with the band because I had seen all that funny pre-Eurovision content they had made and absolutely fallen in love with them as people. I guess that's my first bullet point on the long list of reasons why:
Their personalities. There are six guys in the band, and they're all such lovable, down-to-earth people that it's hard not to love them. They're honest in what they say (which is what they were praised for during the Eurovision), they're genuine, and what I perhaps like the most is that they're very clearly their own, individual persons. I mean, everyone is, of course, but I think with Blind Channel it's even more striking how different they all are from each other, although some of them do also share certain personality traits.
Their passion. I absolutely love listening to them talk about their music, because with every word they say it's obvious how much they love what they do, despite the many (many!) hardships they have faced over the years. They're so ambitious, but not in an arrogant way; they know exactly where they are currently, where they want to be, and how they're gonna get there. The other lead singer Joel in particular (the one with the long blond hair) has made me tear up with his passion for music and the band. Whenever he talks about Blind Channel, you can just tell the band means the absolute world to him. In the end of the final track of their latest album there are clips from their first ever interview from almost 10 years ago, and Joel saying "the best thing about being in a band is everything, every single second" made me cry my eyes out for the first five consecutive times I listened to the song (yes, I actually listened to the song five times in a row the first time around haha), and I still remember back in 2021 I was watching and interview in which he said, when asked if they have someone taking care of their social media, that they want to do all that stuff themselves, because they want the content they give their fans to be as authentic as possible. I literally teared up at that moment, and it was also the moment I decided I need to see them live. Which leads us to my third point...
Their live shows. All the other concerts I had been to before my first BC concert had left me...underwhelmed, in a way? I was always so uncomfortable with all the people (sometimes drunken) shoving me around or screaming to my ear; I often felt like I would've been much better off just listening to the songs in the safety of my apartment lol. But then I went to a Blind Channel show and oh my god I was addicted. Their energy on stage is unmatched, top tier, and other praise words. They're so much fun to look at, because they're all so into it, all of them, not just the singers. In so many bands the guitarist and the bassist are literally just doing their job of strumming the strings while showing no emotion whatsoever, and if that's how they prefer it, I'm not gonna judge them for it, but Blind Channel has a whole choreography for their shows and seeing how into the music they are makes you so much more into the music as well. I especially love watching the bassist Olli on stage; he interacts with the audience quite a bit (a lot more in comparison to the guitarist Joonas who's very into his instrument most of the time), and if you're close enough to the stage, it's so much fun just watching him vibe with the music with the most blissful expression on his face 🥺 He really is in his element on stage - they all are! But with Olli it's a little different, because off stage he appears pretty shy and quiet; on stage he's anything but, and it's always so amazing to see that. In addition, they have so many great songs that are meant to be sung as loud as you can, and doing so surrounded by like-minded people is the best fun you've ever had 🖤 (particularly if there's a separate over-18 section in the audience, as the kids can get a little...intense sometimes 😂 (their fanbase in the motherland is quite young))
Sometimes I myself wonder what the hell actually happened that I became this invested with a band, especially because it's been over 10 years since the last time that happened 🙈 But honestly speaking, I'm so glad I did, because if it wasn't for Blind Channel, I have no idea what I would be doing with my freetime. I had no idea what would be my main source of serotonin if it wasn't for them, or whether I'd have fallen further down in the dumps. I'm scared to even think about it.
And like, by now it's not only about the six dudes in the band and the songs they make, but also about all the incredibly sweet people I have met through them. I don't really have that many friends, but thanks to Blind Channel I now have all these super adorable people in my life who always manage to pull me back up when I feel like I'm drowning, and that's something really fucking beautiful, you know? I will forever be thankful for Blind Channel for giving me all these amazing friends and experiences that I otherwise would've missed.

I meant to send this yesterday but I deleted it on accident bc I’m an idiot and couldn’t remember what I wrote 🤦🏻♀️ Anyway… I completely agree with your Wonho ‘leaving’ poll explanation. Not that changes in music/choreography/styling/general vibes is necessarily a bad thing but there definitely has been changes since then and imo it hasn’t all been positive… (ofc i still love them and will continue to support them/all of their solo careers tho!!) That said, Wonho being made into an outcast is like a black cloud that keeps following them (through no fault of their own). I mean I still get pissed seeing him erased from basically all archival content that’s shown now and the remaining members having to act like he never existed. That whole situation is and will always be a fucking outrage and I hope every single piece of trash person that contributed both directly and indirectly has karma bite them in the ass :)
Also if we could go back to 2019 and go full on dramarama to stop this from happening, hopefully we could get rid of ashy too bc lbr that guy has done more harm than good…

I've actually seen this topic being brought up a lot on twt (how mx's music has changed over the years) and I think it was brought up after a few 'unpopular opinions' ppl have shared abt 'Monsta x losing their sound' or something like that and tbh I never got offended over that bc their music has changed and so has the whole kpop. to some ppl it's 'evolved' and to others it's 'downgraded' depending on their tastes. but some mbbs get so defensive and try to make insane arguments against them. like who cares?
I wholeheartedly believe if wonho hadn't left I would've liked monsta x' music a lot more. like in some of their recent music u can feel something lacking and I think that's wonho's artistic touches and impact.
the wonho erasure pisses me off so much... like that video from a few weeks back (monsta x' most iconic MVs) and it was all post-2019... i was outraged.

✦ how to add a gif to your work crediting the gifmaker
If you're a fanfic writer and you would like to insert a gif in your work while properly crediting the gifmaker, here's an easy to follow guide to use tumblr's image insert feature. Important: If you reupload a gif, even though you credit them in your post, someone else might find that gif later, using the image insert feature and it might credit you as the gifmaker instead of the original creator.

When you think you've seen it all, it turns out there's more than meets the eye.
This will show spoilers from Captain Laserhawk manga Crushing Love and also it will brings some Splinter Cell lore, so watch out if you don't want to get spoiled.

This little discovery had showed me a different take of the Captain Laserhawk lore and probably will be answering some questions (or create more *I am creating more questions than ever and the anxiety to know*).
It looks like Anna Grimsdöttir got a role in Dolph past
For some that are not familiar who Anna Grimsdöttir is, she was an ally of Sam Fisher during The Splinter Cell games and books, she was the Communications Lead later Chief Technical Analyst for Third Echelon and then became Technical Operation Officer during her Fourth Echelon era. She provided Sam with technical support during his field work also adressing any high - technology issues and a skilled hacker.
In this panels we see how Dolph tells his story with Alex (Grim was the only lady who could Boss Alex and he would not complaint, that means the situation was bigger than anything) and suddenly Marcus is surprised by seeing Ana and mentions that she was part of the war (I assumed he was mentioning about the Wastelands War), who provided Intelligence and saved Sam and Marcus many times and after they Lost, she went missing, not knowing about her whereabouts...
Now with this little revelation, It looks like there more than meets the eye, I can't tell everything yet because It looks like I need to read the rest of the manga, but how the things are going, there will be many revelations that could unite the missing links of the series' lore and this could be a twist to some questions that are unaswered.
Remember the last episode where a Rayman was send a message about going to see Bullfrog? Some assume many characters that would had sent that messege, but now with seeing this revelation about Grim, I can believe she could have been the one who send it. It looks like Anna was willing to stop Eden, too and the reason why she and Alex were working together, also there is something curious about a dialogue of Alex telling Grim if Dolph is not able to do his part he could talk to the Arms Dealer Andy (some that are not familiar with the Splinter Cell lore would past it unnoticed, but if I am correct, or I am assuming many things, Alex would had been referring to Andriy Kobin, an arms dealer who was enemy of Sam Fisher during Splinter Cell Conviction, then a temporal ally in Splinter Cell Blacklist).
So... Here it is this little discovery and man, there is a lot to be reveal and to see this, brings me a Big joy to know that more Splinter Cell characters are around the Captain Laserhawk serie, meaning that that maybe Sam will have a bigger part in Dolph's role in Season 2 (I really hope so). 🥺🥺🥺💚🖤💚🖤💚🖤💚🖤
Oh!!! Almost forgot, Anna design in the manga looks like the design from Blacklist more than anything.😁😁😁😁💞💞💞💞💞💞

Hulloooo! I just restarted my island last week! It's my personal nightmare currently but it'll get there. How have you been?
I’ve been pretty good! This weeks been a bit of a time cause I had cold that just completely zapped all my energy, but other then that, I’ve been doin pretty ok. Nothing to stressful or crazy and nothing too like.. exciting to talk about I guess, lol.

Every Conference I find more Mormons who've blocked me, which I'm not mad about and I don't blame them for, because you should curate your Tumblr experience!!! I'm an exmo. I do trigger-tag pretty well and am friendly with queerstake, but if I'm gonna affect your mental well-being, PLEASE block me, 100%. I for sure had the exmo tags blacklisted when I was Mormon.
But Tumblrstake, I just want you to know I love y'all 😭 My pain regarding the LDS church has nothing to do with you guys. Y'all are the best and a HUGE reason why I was able to get to a point in life where I'm happy with myself and my choices. I genuinely cannot thank this community enough. Love you guys 🖤🖤

💛: What is a popular ship you just can't get behind, and why?
Okay, there's a few I could think of to talk about here (Ashton/Orym came to mind, but also I don't know how popular that is in the grand scheme of things? And Molly/Caleb, but I'm fairly well-documented in not liking that), but instead I'm going to do one that is very popular but I stress: I have no issues with this ship. I even think it has good chemistry and themes, etc. It simply does not spark joy in me the way I want my ships to. And that's Caleb/Essek.
Like, I honestly don't know how I would have interacted with this ship in a vacuum. I might have gone full shipper, maybe, because I do think my interactions with fandom/fanon for it had a pretty negative effect. And I remember being excited about the ship when the campaign was ongoing! But as soon as the campaign ended/the ship went canon there was such an explosion of content it dazed me. Suddenly all I could see was Caleb/Essek all on my dash, all on my AO3. it was so inescapable I just blacklisted the ship tag and, well, i still have it blacklisted, actually. Add to the overexposure that I just wasn't fond of a lot of the fanon characterization of the relationship and to this day I'll see ship content for it come up and be like "*deeply tired* I want nothing to do with this right now". Which doesn't feel fair to the ship itself? Because I never minded it in canon? But when I see it come up in fandom I just get so exhausted with it.
So, when I say I "can't get behind it" it's not that I think there's any issues with the ship itself. Hi, it's me, I'm the problem it's me (also fanon, but fanon is pretty much always an issue so this is no surprise).

Mollymauk is the easy answer here and I do think that's true. Ashton, too, probably, but I don't feel like making that argument. You know, I'm going to expand the question and I'm just going to say Vox Machina As A Party. I'm not super in the know with Vox Machina specific fandom stuff, but I have seen a lot of fandom treat them like these classic, honorable heroes and that. that was never my experience with them. They were pretty fucking brutal actually. Maybe this stood out to me a lot because I watched all of M9 before going back and finishing VM, and I remember so many people talking about M9 like they were the biggest assholes on the earth, especially in comparison to VM (which, they were assholes, but still) and I was like confused_john_travolta.gif. Vox were heroes, but damn they got up to some shit, man
