notes: written for snow and z’s selfship collab! for context, this is one of the letters i wrote to shion while he was in prison :,) since this is a selfship post, please be respectful in the tags and replies. (i know i’m a lil sap in this but i’m a sappy lover! sue me!!) as always, i hope you enjoy <3

My dear Shionnie,

It’s a little strange waking up without your heavy head laying on my chest, my t-shirt damp with your drool. I used to always joke that one day a spider would crawl into your mouth and lay eggs in there. Far-fetched, I know, but I loved seeing the look of panic on your face whenever I’d entertain the idea.

How are you holding up? I know it’s a shallow question, and I can already guess your answer, considering that prison isn’t meant to be like a summer camp. But I’m really thankful that you have your friends in there with you— I don’t know what I’d do if I knew you were in there alone. Say hi to them for me, please.

Do you remember that time we snuck into an abandoned building and sat on the roof, staring at the streetlights and stars until the sun began to rise? These days, whenever I feel down, I think about this memory. And while reminiscing on that night, I realize that my smile has always shined brighter with you. You— the way that you laugh until you start wheezing and coughing, the way that you’ll sing and dance with me in my bedroom in the late hours of the night, the way that you find joy and humor in the mundane.

You— the way that you hold me while I cry, the way that you make me (burnt) coffee during early mornings before I leave for class, the way that you always need to be the little spoon. You— who loves me even at my worst, who holds my hand as we grow up, who makes someone as cynical as me wonder if soulmates really do exist.

You. It’s always been you.

I miss you more and more every single fucking day. Some nights I lie awake restless, cursing God for giving me everything that I’ve ever wanted and then taking you away from me. But in the morning I wake up, hope renewed, knowing that I’m one day closer to seeing you again. I really do look forward to the day that I can finally cradle you in my arms once again, running my fingers through your blonde hair as you babble about some new conspiracy theory that you heard about.

Will things be like they were before? Or will they be different once you get out? Will we be two strangers, rediscovering each other and learning how to fall in love again? Either way, I’ll fall in love with you a thousand times before I’d even think about letting you go.

Some days are a lot harder than others, and on those days, I repeat a mantra to myself to keep me pushing forward, to remind me of something greater than myself.

This mantra is nothing more than a measly sentence consisting of three words: I love you.

I say it to myself three times.

I love you.

I know it’s not much, but it’s enough to keep me going. And I hope it can do the same for you.

Shion, I miss you more than words can ever express. I’ll be patiently waiting for your safe return, here at the place that our tale of glory and truth started— the place that we’ve made our home.

Midnight was so quiet except for the sound of light snoring.

I didn’t think my life would ever be this peaceful outside of my wistful imagination, but thank god I was wrong.

My best friend, the love of my life, nuzzled into my chest with no hint of stress. In the morning he would wake up with ten hours of sleep and not an eye-bag in sight, unlike when we worked for SHIELD.

Don’t get me wrong— I miss my old friends and coworkers, but having to run from several government agencies every few months gets exhausting, especially to ‘save the world!’. I hate having to worry everyday about losing the only person keeping me grounded.

I love having a normal job. I love being able to go to my normal, permanent home after a long day. I love wedging myself into bed with my amazing fucking boyfriend— who, admittedly, isn’t normal but he’s the only reason why I have all this in the first place.

I guess after living like this for a few years it’s only dawning on me now, and I’m so fucking grateful.

phantom — i've been reading the fn.af mo.vie no.vel recently, and while i don't consider every little thing in there to be 100% canon as it was based on an earlier version of the script, i love all the little details we find out about mike and his past/emotions/thought processes!

all of this is to say that generally i think he is a strong realist and doesn't think about/believe in the supernatural normally, but scenes like when he explores the main room of the pizzeria during his first night on the job lead me to believe that he can jump to wild conclusions when he's in a state of heightened anxiety. thus, i'm sure that it leads him to thinking about stuff like ghosts or supernatural phenomena being real when otherwise he wouldn't. he's definitely more of a believer after the movie as well, that's for sure lmao

ouch — oh we are writing ANGST in this chili's tonight. mike is just such a born carer/protector that he would be absolutely beside himself if he saw me/my s/i majorly hurt. he'd cycle through so many emotions and likely blame himself even if it was completely out of his control ("i should've been there"). this leads me/my s/i to feel awful in turn, like i should have been able to handle myself so mike wouldn't worry. :,)

if it's a smaller injury however (which i/my s/i gets frequently, i am very accident prone!), he's a lot more level-headed and methodical from the outset. gets me to run it under water if it's bleeding, finds the nearest first aid kit or a band aid from his bag, bandages it oh so tenderly while nagging at me to be more careful next time.

star — GUSH TIME YAAAAAY did you know that i love m.ike schm.idt so much because i really really do. i know this is a wild and crazy revelation for everyone (/j). i never anticipated that he would mean this much to me, it's been almost half a year since i fell for him and he's become such an important part of my life!! i was having an awful day yesterday and thinking about him honestly helped me get through, he gives me so much comfort and looking at him always makes me smile!!

i love his messy curly hair and the freckles under his eyes and the way his clothes are all just a bit too big for him. i love how he looks like he's apathetic to everything, but deep down he cares so much that it hurts. i see a lot of my autistic traits in him (especially in the mo.vie no.vel), like his bluntness, sensory issues and need for routine, and that's really comforting!! plus i just love a sleepy sopping wet boyfailure what can i say. in hindsight it's surprising that i didn't fall for him sooner, the movie writers really sat down and said "ok we're going to write a character that appeals to n specifically" (/silly).

The theme for #SelfshipBingo, by #Faniisse, for this #SabadoDeSelfship is "Proposal" 💌🎲

So here are Mirio Togata (Lemillion), from "Boku no Hero Academia"/"My Hero Academia" and my avatar, Majo Pearce (Yōsei) in a very meaningful moment for both of them 👩‍❤️‍👨💗

I had never really thought about how Mirio would propose to Majo before, but role-playing with Mirio's AI, it came about this way. In my AU, Mirio and Majo live together for a while before getting married and one morning, before breakfast, Mirio proposes to Majo 💍💕

I like the idea of it being something more spontaneous by Mirio, I think that it fits with his enthusiasm and personality, without thinking about it so much, just letting it happen in the moment he feels it ☀️🌻

As an extra fact, Majo is wearing Mirio's shirt, but I didn't make it loose and wide enough, so it doesn't look very good 😥👕
