My Opinions on the Percy Jackson Show

Short answer: I like it, but I have issues with it to which i am mostly blaming Disney. I grew up with this series for a decade, it was my first fandom and I love the books so much so don't kill me pls. Overall, i prefer the musical to this (maybe im just a tech theatre nerd). Ok, issue number one is the pacing. Like, Holy Fucking Gods this was going a mile a minute. Even the movie had better pacing and these first two episodes are the same length as half of the Lightning Thief movie. Why is it running so fast like, baby, slow down, you can let us ruminate and have fun here.

Also, stemming from this is the lack of humor and wit compared to the book? Like, Percy is naturally charismatic, funny, and witty and so is Walker?! Like, he was in The Adam Project with Ryan Renolds and he managed to keep up and sometimes outwit him. like, watch interviews of this kid, he's so fucking funny. there were a few moments "my dad is jesus" and "should i try again" being the ones to stand out but those are few and far between and not even as funny as book percy???

I feel like this was Disney not giving Rick enough time and episodes (I think this season should've been 10 eps if not 12) then Rick going "I'm refusing to let certain things go" which inadvertently made the first two episodes feel dull to me?

If I had my say, the whole first chapter was an episode ending with Percy getting expelled, then episode two was him going home and seeing his mother and the minotaur, then episode 3 at camp with Clarise and maybe capture the flag starting. Episode 4 would be capture the flag, then percy gets claimed, then he gets assigned to go on the quest. Each episode would be a part of the quest (bus and Medusa #5, ST Louis Arch #6 (you could cut this episode), Ares #7, Lotus Hotel #8, Underworld #9&10, Ares VS Percy #11 and Luke's betrayal #12)

Finally, all of the kids don't feel like kids. Like, in The Lightning Thief Percy and Annabeth were bickering the whole time over stupid, petty things and I loved that, where is that here? That's so important for the series, why do they feel so bland?! They are talented actors, what is going on

What do I like though?

Sally Jackson, objectively. She was perfectly casted and she has so much love in her heart for her son, she is my queen, I love her so much

Camp is so pretty! Especially the Hermes cabin, which felt so comfy and warm, I love it. exactly what 12-year-old Blue daydreamed about.

Virgil Goldsmith: Son of Golden Ryan and Thundercloud. He's the literal definition of light skin rizz. His NEXT power is thunderbolts.

Dior & Hermes Karelin: Twins of Origami Cyclone and Aphrodite. They were an accident but a very welcome and happy one since Ivan has always wanted to be a dad. Dior has Dionne's looks with Ivan's personality while Hermes has Ivan's looks while Dionne's personality. Their NEXT power is illusions.

Akila Hawke: Daughter of Machinator and Machina. She's a smart girl like both of her parents and is the heir to Hawke Technologies. Her NEXT power is Nanopathy.

Javi Lopez: Son of Rock Bison and American Belle. Javi is LOUD like both of his parents but also a wild child. Really likes climbing trees when he's not supposed to. His NEXT power is invincibility.

logan lerman as poseidon

percy goes to olympus and the gods are like "another of hermes' children for sure" and look to ryan reynolds, suddenly logan coughs and says with a smile "oh, that one is mine"

the trident appears above percy's head and everyone goes "him?! the son of poseidon?! no way!" while cheiron just stands there in awe whispering to himself "i seriously thought he might be the son of zeus, the hair, the eyes..."

the part with medusa where she is like "i hate your father so much but damn you look nothing like him"

or just like some campers inadvertently seeing hermes and being like "he looks like percy so he must be poseidon" but then hermes puts on the winged sneakers and flies away

Summary: Just a glimpse into the life of the Peñas.

A/N: As they say, all good things must come to an end. This is the last part to this fic. I have toyed with the idea of doing one shots to fill the time between Chapter 12 and now, since there is a significant time jump. But those are a ways out. 15 Years Later

Mariana was stretched out on the pool deck soaking up sun, with Olivia next to her. Marcela was helping Y/N in the garden, pulling weeds and picking vegetables while Jaime was playing catch with his little brother, Javier. It was the middle of June in Laredo, which meant that it was hot, but it was nothing compared to the heat of Colombia. A heat their children never had to experience, but heard stories about. Only the twins had ever been to the country where their parents’ story started, but they were too young to remember any of it.

Javi walked out of the barn, having just finished watering the horses, and wiped the sweat from his brow. He looked around their massive backyard with a large smile. Seeing his children made his heart swell with such happiness, that sometimes he was afraid he’d wake up and it’d all be a dream. But then, his gaze found her. She was covered in sweat and specks of dirt in her swimsuit top and sports shorts as she weeded the garden, but he’d never seen anything more beautiful. Every time he saw her, he found his footing. This was all real; she was real. Seventeen years together, fifteen years of marriage, and four kids later and he was still as in love with her as the day he saw her in that red dress. He smirked at her when she stood up and he saw the sweat glistening off her skin, dripping down between her breasts. “You checking me out, Mister?” She laughed, approaching him as she wiped her forehead with the back of her hand.

Javi smiled at her and wrapped his arms around her waist, holding her close. “Siempre, mi hermosa,” he said.

She grinned at him. “I look gross right now.”

He shook his head. “No, Hermosa, you look as perfect as the day I first saw you in your apartment.”

He smiled wide at her, a few more wrinkles appeared around his eyes over the years, just like her, but he was still her Javi. She blushed at his comment and replied, “After all these years, you still make me blush.”

Javi leaned down and met his lips with hers, kissing her delicately. She reached up and lightly tugged at the hair near the nape of his neck and smiled into his kiss. “Careful,” he growled, “you know what that does to me.”

She laughed and kissed him again.

“Get a room!” Mariana shouted from the deck.

Javi looked up and smiled at his daughter before dipping Y/N and giving her a very passionate kiss. They both grinned against each other’s lips as they heard the rest of their children groan in disgust together. Marcela came over and dropped the vegetable basket on the ground in front of them. “Can’t you just wait until tomorrow? Do this when you aren’t here?” She laughed.

He looked at his eldest daughter. She was a spitting image of his wife. Honestly, both of his beautiful daughters were; his hermositas. “When you find the love of your life, you’ll understand one day. And I hope your kids are just as disturbed,” Javi laughed.

Marcela wrapped her hand around him, and he held her close. “Does that mean I can go out with Ryan when you get back?” She asked.

He looked at Y/N slightly horrified. “Ryan?”

She looked over to Marcela. “Your father and I will talk about it tonight,” she said, giving her daughter a wink.

Marcela smiled and grabbed the basket again, heading into the house. Javi turned to his wife. “Ryan?”

She rested her hand on her hip and glared at him through her sunglasses. “I told you about him, mi amor. He plays on the baseball team and they do debate together.”

Javi’s eyes grew wide. “Is he that boy that drove here two weeks ago?” He asked, suddenly concerned, “he has a car.”

“Javi, she’s going to be sixteen in a few weeks. It’s time we start to let her grow up.” She wrapped her arms around his neck. “Ryan is a very sweet boy. Besides, you should count your blessings. Everyone is afraid to date the daughters of the famed DEA Agent who brought down both Pablo Escobar and the Cali Godfathers. I’m surprised Ryan worked up the nerve,” she laughed.

“He. Has. A. Car, Hermosa.”

“Good,” she said, “then we don’t have to drive them around.” She gave him her doe-eyed look he couldn’t resist.

Javi let out a long nervous breath. “Nothing was ever going to prepare me for this day. They’re growing up way too fast.”

“It seemed like just yesterday the four of us packed up and moved back to Cali.”

He kissed her before bringing her to his side as they walked towards the house. “Speaking of packed…”

“I’m going inside to shower…” she began.

He gave her his trademarked devilish grin. “Oh?”

“You’ll get plenty of that this week, mi amor.” He laughed at her. “Anyway,” she continued, “I was going to finish laundry and finish packing.”

“Well, don’t pack too many clothes,” he whispered into her neck.

She gasped and slapped his shoulder. “Go practice with your sons. Jaime has a game tonight.”

“What time are your parents getting here?”

“They’ll be here before Jaime’s game. Dad is driving us to the airport. Steve and Connie said they’d meet us at the ballpark, since Olivia is here. They’re staying the night so we don’t have to make extra stops tomorrow. We can go straight to the airport. And then, this time tomorrow the four of us will be sitting on a cruise ship sipping cocktails.”

Javi smiled. They made a point to do trips with The Murphys as often as they could, especially since the girls were so close. But then, every summer, the four of them would escape for a week sans kids. This year, they decided on a cruise to celebrate The Peñas’ fifteenth wedding anniversary. Steve actually suggested it, and the girls were sold. Javi was obviously eager to get away, and wherever his hermosa wanted to go, he would follow.

It was late after Jaime’s game, and the adults were sitting on the deck. Y/N’s parents turned in early, so that left Javi, Y/N, Steve, and Connie. Javi had her pulled into his lap, hand wrapped around her waist as they sat laughing about old times. Both Javi and Steve’s beers ran out, and so she and Connie offered to run inside and fetch them some. Steve waited until they were gone before he said, “Do you ever feel like you’re living in a dream?”

Javi nodded. “Every damn day.” They sat in silence for a minute. “You know, I never thanked you,” he said.

“For what?” Steve asked.

Javi took a deep breath and sighed. “For everything you did that day,” he added. They never talked about that day. Despite the fact she survived, he never wanted to relive it.

“It’s no big deal, man. You would have done the same thing.”

“Steve, if you weren’t there keeping a level head and doing what I should have, she might not have made it. I owe you everything.”

Steve smiled at him. “I’d do anything for you two. Besides,” he laughed, “It’s in the handbook. It says your partner has your back when you get shot, your wife gets kidnapped, when you’re getting married, but tells you when you’re being a dumbass.”

Javi laughed at Steve. “It all worked out, didn’t it? Even after you threatened me to leave her alone.”

Connie and Y/N rejoined them. “I knew you wouldn’t listen,” Steve said.

“Does he ever?” She said, handing Javi his beer before returning to his lap.

Connie grinned. “Not as long as I’ve known him.”

“He called her ‘forbidden fruit’ the first time I said to back off.”

She turned to look at him. Her eyes rolled as she looked down at his big grin on his face. “Forbidden fruit?”

“Damn right,” he said, his grin going into that same devilish look he always had.

She lightly kissed his lips. “Who knew I’d marry someone so cheesy?”

“Solo para ti, Hermosa.”

Steve laughed. “So, Javi, Connie tells me Marcela has a date?”

“Thanks for the reminder, dick.”

Giggling, Connie said, “When Olivia invited her first date over, Steve wore his badge.”

“I sure did,” he said, tipping his bottle at Javi, “he had her home fifteen minutes before curfew.”

Javi smiled. “You wanna have a barbecue that night. Two DEA Agents might have him back here fifteen minutes after they leave.”

“Shooting some clay birds while we wait.”

Y/N looked at Connie, shaking her head. “You two are insufferable. Ryan is a good boy.”

“No,” Javi said, “Dusty, is a good boy.” Motioning to the dog at their feet. “Ryan is a boy.”

They laughed. “And she’s our daughter,” Y/N said, “I do believe the first time we went out, your persistence in the backseat got you nowhere.”

Steve chuckled and nodded. “I believe she called you harmless at one point.”

Javi glared at him. “Fuck you, Murphy.”

Y/N smiled and ran her hand up and down his back. “He was! Connie and I were dying over him practically tripping over himself. He could hardly form sentences during that car ride.”

“In my defense,” Javi said, “it worked.” He motioned to her in his lap.

“Three weeks later,” Steve added.

“Again, fuck you, Murphy.”

Steve finished his beer and stood up. “Well, now that Javi has told me to fuck off twice, I’m heading to bed. See you bright and early tomorrow.” Connie got up to follow him, but he stopped at the door. “Happy Anniversary, you guys.”

Javi held his beer up to Steve and Y/N smiled as they retired for the night. “It’s hard to believe it’s been fifteen years,” Javi said, finishing his beer.

She turned in his lap, so she was straddling him as she ran her hands over his chest and shoulders. “You know,” she grinned, “that night at the club, I only danced with Rodriguez to piss you off.”

“Oh, it was obvious, Hermosa. Which is why I danced with that nurse.”

“I won that game,” she added, kissing him.

“You always win.” He returned her kiss. “I did always wonder about something. What did you tell Kate about me before we got together?” His hermosa blushed and looked away. “Now you’re embarrassed? I would think what we did last week in the shower would have been more embarrassing?”

She laughed and pushed on him. “After the night of the club, I told her that I had this neighbor who was hands down the most attractive man I have ever seen. I told her while we danced, I’d never felt so alive before and that I would look for any excuse just to have your hands on me. I also told her that it was so obvious you looked for similar excuses to touch me. So, when you picked me up and tossed me in that Jeep, she made a comment about it. When we got back to my apartment, she told me that she’d never seen someone look at anyone the way you did at me. As angry as you were about Lara, she watched you sneak glimpses of me, and vice versa. She was so annoyed it took you as long as it did to do anything about it.”

He laughed, and ran his hands down her back, cupping her bottom to pull her closer to him. Javi looked up into her eyes with so much love and adoration as she returned his gaze. Her hands rested in his hair, holding him steady - tethering him to his reality. He had a few tears in his eyes. “I’ve never loved anyone the way I love you, Hermosa.”

“Me neither. It scared me at first, because my heart ached to have you. And I can’t imagine it any other way.”

“El mejor tipo de dolor,” he smiled.

She leaned down and rubbed her nose on his. “Sí, y como me duele,” she said, smiling before she kissed him just as passionately and deeply as they did the first time all those years ago.

I'd love some Lyla and Hugo headcannons please.

I love these two soooo much, let’s do some post-Hogwarts head canons:

They move in with Rose and Scorpius after graduating until they find their apartment

Rose is pregnant with her oldest, Hermès, at the time

They live in a nice spacious three bedroom/one bathroom apartment that Lyla flat out bought for them

They put a bunch of modifiers on their apartment, mostly on the windows to block out noise and keep their cats from jumping out the window

Lyla eventually wins over the whole Weasley family, with the exception of Lily

Mostly because she is a freelance writer and is able to babysit at any time

Also because you don’t fight with Rose, and she adores Lyla

Hugo was a witness at Louis and Anamika’s wedding/elopement, but Lyla was on assignment and missed it

She cried for a straight day after, but understood when Anamika explained the whole situation to her

Hugo and Lyla have five godchildren, Hermes Malfoy (Rose and Scorpius), Frankie Havings (Ali and Remus), Stephan Thomas (Lily and Ryan), Penny Jacobs (Molly and Artie), and Prisha “Paris” Weasley (Louis and Anamika)

Ryan fought for Hugo and Lyla to be Stephan’s godparents and Lily relented

Lyla and Lily still don’t get along after Hogwarts, but Lily is close to Hugo again by the time her second son is born

Lyla is so nervous when she gets pregnant that she doesn’t tell Hugo until she’s about 14 weeks along

Hugo is so excited to be a dad that she doesn’t know why she was nervous/anxious to tell him in the first place

Their first son, Evan Perseus looks just like Hugo, but with Lyla’s blue eyes

They both struggle with being parents at different times, mostly with their sleep schedules and work

Lyla’s parents push her to quit her job, especially when she tells them that she and Hugo are having a second baby

They never cared for Hugo, but now there was no denying he was part of the family

Their second son, Hector Draco looks like Blaise, especially when he gets older

He’s tall, dark, and handsome and loves his Grandpa Blaise sooo much

It forces Blaise and Daphne to consider if they should’ve had a second child and if it would’ve been better for Lyla to have a sibling

Hugo decides to quit his job writing for various publications, as he knows Lyla doesn’t want to leave her assistant editor job at the Prophet

Neither of them have to work because of Lyla’s inheritance, but they like what they do

Hugo stays home with the boys and writes his novels full time, while Lyla comes in and out

They are such homebodies

Their next child is very unexpected, and they don’t quite know what to do

Roslyn “Ro” Psyche is their only daughter and is spoiled as such

She is Lyla with Hugo’s red hair, she ends up going everywhere her parents go, she’s the perfect travel buddy

Lyla takes her to the Prophet offices when she has to be there and Ro is the perfect travel companion

At this time the parents gang up and tell Hugo and Lyla they need to get married

They had been together for about 21 years and engaged for 9 years, but just like with their engagement they wait

They decide to have one last baby, and have Odysseus “Odie” Christopher

He’s the perfect blend of them, in both the good and the bad, but he is the definite baby of them all

He is the youngest great-grandchild in the whole Weasley family

Hugo and Lyla finally get married when their children ask them why they’re not married

Odie is seven at the time and Evan is eighteen, Hector is fifteen and Ro is ten

They have two ceremonies, the first is the six of them jumping on a ferry and Hugo and Lyla get married in the open water (like from Jim and Pam’s wedding in The Office)

The second is a big over the top ceremony that they let Daphne plan because they couldn’t be bothered

They arrive at their second ceremony wet and salt crusted in their hair, but it doesn’t matter

Blaise walks Lyla down the aisle and gives her away, and Hugo and Lyla promise themselves to each other again

Lyla never changes her name, she will always be Lyla Zabini and their kids last name is Weasley-Zabini

They also never move out of their three bedroom apartment

The Lightning Thief last show

I had the luck to get tickets to see The Lightning Thief’s last performance on Broadway. Here were some highlights. Spoiler warning.

We had the highest balcony in partially obscured view, but we could see everything, including the band.

Before the show there was seagulls and wave crashing and storms playing in the background.

THE THUNDER OH MY GODS. (Hehe pun)

I knew that it came but it never failed to surprise me.

When each chapter came out for their little solo in Prologue everyone cheered.

The YANK the curtain away and Chris nyooms our and sits like a French babe. The audience goes. BALLASTIC.

He sits there and looked around.

Holy shit was that guy Percy Jackson.

He sits there for around two minutes, meanwhile the audience is still cheering wildly.

He’s almost laughing when he goes “Look...........I didn’t wanna be a half-blood.

Kristen (Annabeth) I think was Nancy Bobofit, I’m not sure, but she and James (Luke) were cuddling the ENTIRE show.

Ryan Knowles Chiron was SO GOOD.

“Their father Kronos-“ “KROOOOONOOOOS!” “Ah. Thank you... Mrs. Dodd’s.”

“He tricked Kronos-“ “KROOONOOOS!” “...into eating a rock. So what did Kronos do?” Mrs. Doods gets real close to his face. “Anyone?...Any student?”

Grover baas. Amazing. Incredible. Inspiring.

Percy sounds so heartbroken when he gets kicked out. Like I’m 6 minutes into the show and I almost start crying. It’s insane.

James as Gabe was amazing.

“Hey Percy how was school?”

“Oh it was great, I went on a field trip, fought a monster, got expelled-Ooh lunch was pretty good.”

Percy throughout the entire show plays with the end of his sweatshirt

(He’s drinking blue Gatorade)

Strong was so pretty. Jayleen was amazing.

Percy cries in the Minotaur were heartbreaking.

“Percy was that a fury?!” “YOURE THE FURRY!”

Poseidon. That’s all.

Annabeth gets wheeled in.

“You drool when you sleep.”

“Augh what happened?” (I don’t remember exactly what she says but it’s something like this:) “you passed out and your friend Grover carried you back to camp and I gave you nectar and ambrosia , but not to much or else you’ll die.” She says that very fast.

You can tell thatLuke is poisoning percys mind from the beginning.

Grover runs on in the middle of Thier Sign half sobbing going “Percy I’m so sorry I’m so sorry”

“Are you ever gonna wear pants again?” “Nope.”

“Heyyyy I’m the smartest girl you know.” Annabeth is play fighting with Luke. “You’re also the toughest girl I know.” “You think I’m tough?”

“Sexist much?” “No, I love girls-.......uh within reason.”

“Wow she’s intense.” “You think she’s intese?” “AAAAAAAAAUGH!” Clairrise bolts on stage.

Toilet paper as the toilet water.

“My dad is Poseidon?...SWEEEEEEEEEEET!”

“Luke. Hermes kids are fast-“ “actually that’s a stereotype... flibergate got it.”

The battle sequences are amazing.

“THAT SOUNDS LIKE A LINE FROM A CLOSING BROADWAY MUSICAL!”

“Not... turning him into a dolphin!”

The Campfire Song is really sweet they’re all just playing around like friends.

The Oracle is AMAZING.

Annabeth sounds so angry when Percy gets a quest.

GoodKid HOLY SHIT. He sounded so angry and sad and malcontented. It was incredible.

More Luke poison.

Killer quest was so upbeat.

She says “Six long years stuck at camp!” Instead of five because that’s how long she’s been playing Annabeth and 😭

“I’ve got mad battle strategy, my mom’ll be impressed. I’m comin on your killer QUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEST!!!”

Out of context they’re speeding down the freeway getting attacked by fury’s and then BOOSH!! Red confetti rains down. I was too high up to get any.

Annabeth goddamn loses it at the nuts joke i don’t even know if it was on purpose.

Katie Garder plays The SquirrelTM.

Medusa was so cool.

“What Interesting eyes you have dear... would you mind if I took your picture?”

Annabeth fixes her hair in her knife

Meanwhile Grover keeps poking Uncle Ferdinand.

The staues hold maracas

“Well Athens got mad at Medusa so she tsudncnwkkwlslrkk.” (She starts drinking from her water bottle)

The little scene before my grand plan is so sweet.

“Since you hate me-“ “I...don’t hate you?” “Well...” Percy turned away stubbornly. “You seem to criticize me a lot.”

“Here hold it this way.” “I don’t need a new way to-oh no this is much better.”

MY GRAND PLAN OH SWEET CEREAL IT WAS AMAZING. AND YES I WILL SPEAK IN ALL CAPS TO EMPHASIZE HOW AMAZING IT WAS. HER VOCALS WERE AMAZING. GOLDEN LIGHT GLITTERS DOWN ON HER AND THE ENTIRE AUDIENCE F L I P P E D. THERE WAS APPLAUSE FOR AROUND FIVE MINUTES. IT PUT THE SHOW ON PAUSE.

“To... Mount Olympus...courtesy of Percy Jackson... and Annabeth Chase-“ “no!! The god’ll think we’re impertinent!”

“Oh. We are impertinent.”

Drive was nice.

Bianca diAngalo’s little cameo was awesome.

The voice in The Weirdest dream reprise was so goddamn incredible.

“You do drool when you sleep!”

The Tree On The Hill was so SO heartbreaking. Jorrel Javier was sobbing.

Luke, Thalia, and Annabeth Re-enacted the battle, and Luke and Annabeth had to pull each other back and then Annabethstarted crying in Luke’s shoulder.

“You know, I dabble in music myself. You wanna hear a demo?” “Not really” “No” “Not at all-“ “IM SORRY I CANT HEAR YOU OVER MY SWEET ASS RIFFS”

And holy shit were her riffs sweet ass.

They controlled them like puppets it was amazing.

Cerberus.

When she says “You ain’t never gonna be remembered” Annabeth shouts “no!”

HADES HAD ON A GLITTER JACKET.

“He thinks he’s so cooool with his trident and his Hawaiian shirt and how hE nEVeR ViSIts HiS bRotHeR...”

Percy almost getting dragged into Taturus.

Mmm foreshadowing

Now normally Son of Posiden is my least favorite song but this was really uplifting.

Again. Battle sequence. Cool as hell.

When Percy sees his mom he throws his arm around her.

Then Poseidon comes.

“My my Sally, you look just as gorgeous as the day we met on that beach.” “And you haven’t changed a bit.”

“Oooookay.”

“That’s my dad?”

“That’s your dad!”

“Here mom something for your first sculpture!” She begins to open the box-“Ooohhh you see its uh, Medusa’s head.”

During The Last Day of Summer like sounds so ANGRY and it’s so sad.

Annabeth really did trick luke. (Sorry man no spoilers here)

Percy gets s t a b b e d, no scorpion just plain ol stabbed.

He wakes up

“Wise Girl?...” “Seaweed brain.” I think she cried and hugs him but from my point on view it looked like they kissed.

They were all sobbing in Bring on the Monsters, especially Jorrel Javier.

Like seriously he was going “DRivE jUst DriIiiIiVE”

Rob Rokicki came out oh my god I was crying it was amazing.

I met a good half of the cast, Kristen signed my playbill twice, oops.

Katherine

I’ve written this one before, but I think that her birth is particularly challenging, and Clarisse ends up needing an emergency C-Section. Once she’s out and they know she’s healthy, they both just sob.

She’s a daddy’s girl through and through. She has Chris wrapped around her finger.

She also looks a lot like Chris. When Clarisse is out with her without Chris people sometime ask if Clarisse is babysitting or if Katherine is adopted. Clarisse always gets frustrated by those questions.

She may look exactly like Chris, but she inherits’s Clarisse’s temper. She is also a really strong fighter and prefers using a spear.

Although she’s a great fighter, she never really wants to go to camp. When she’s six, she starts dance classes, and she just really falls in love with ballet. By the time she’s twelve, she’s basically already on a pre-professional track. Her parents let her take this path, rather than forcing her to go to camp. When she’s 12, she does the summer intensive at the American School of Ballet in New York asks to be considered for the school (even though Clarisse told her she wasn’t allowed to go to dance school full-time until she was at least 13.) At the end of the summer, the offer to let her stay, and she panics about telling her mom, worried that she won’t let her stay because she’s not 13 yet. But when she tell’s Clarisse, she’s so excited for her and tells her that, of course, she’s allowed to take the opportunity.

Katherine is like her mom in so many ways - hot temper, very driven, very strong.

Her favorite book is The Hobbit

Hunter

Because Katherine was born via c-section, the doctors wanted Clarisse to have another one, but she refused. The recovery process was super hard on her body the last time, and she didn’t want to go through it again.

She ended up finding a good group of midwives and delivering with them (still in a hospital, though). She chose to have a water birth too. This one goes a lot faster than Katherine’s and there are no complications. When he’s born, she was able to pick him up out of the water and do immediate skin-to-skin. And then she started sobbing because “I didn’t think I’d be able to do it.”

He and Clarisse are very close, especially when he’s little. He follows her around like a duckling.

His first name in John, but they realized after having him for about two weeks that Hunter just fit his personality better.

He looks a lot more like Clarisse. He’s not as pale and his hair isn’t as light, but he has more of her features, and his skin and hair are much lighter than his sister’s.

He’s kind of the exact opposite of Katherine. He has his father’s temperament. He is much more calm, he has a good sense of humor. But he loves fighting. while Katherine is a good fighter, he is an even better fighter, and he loves training. He decides to stay at camp year round when he’s twelve. He stays in the Ares cabin, and he likes that they don’t cut him any slack because his mom was one of the heroes of the Titan war.

He’s bisexual, and while he knows this from puberty, it takes him a long time to tell his parents just because he’s not very good at talking about his feelings. They figure it out before he ever tells them. When he’s sixteen, there’s this son of Nike they keep hearing about. But they wait for him to tell them.

He tells Clarisse first. She picked him up from camp for Thanks Giving, meeting him at Atlantic Barkley’s when he got in on the Long Island Railroad. He told her on the N train when she asked if he was okay. He had been acting strange the whole subway ride.

He finally gets out of his seat to stand to work off some of the nervous energy before telling her. She just smiles and says, “Thank you for telling me,” But she notices that he still looks nervous and sweaty, so she asks again: “Are you sure you’re okay?

“I just don’t want you guys to treat me any differently,” he tells her.

She opens her arms to him, and he sits back down and gives her a hug. “Your father and I love you, and nothing like this could ever change that,”

“I know, and you guys have always been so good with Eli, it’s just,” he took a deep breath, not sure what to say next.

Clarisse nodded, “It’s always scary to tell people, especially people you love,” They talk about it for a few more minutes before he changes the subject.

He told Chris later that night, and he had more or less the same reaction Clarisse did. He told his siblings during Thanks Giving dinner. They were both pretty neutral to the news, both of them pretty much already knowing.

Eli actually looked a little scared when he told them. “Was it a secret?”

“Yes, it was a secret,” Hunter said.

“Oh see, I thought when you spent, like, two months this summer dating Ryan from Nike that people knew ... and -”

“How did you know about that? That whole thing was a secret!”

Eli laughed, “Please, everyone knew! Nike was on Ares’s team for capture the flag every week! You went to the fireworks together!”

Hunter buried his face in his hands. “Wait,” he looked up at his parents, “so did you know this whole time?”

“We knew you had a boyfriend,” Chris said.

“But we didn’t know what that meant for you,” Clarisse added.

“And we figured you would tell us when you were ready.”

Hunter pushed his chair away from the table. “May I be excused? I need to throw myself off the fire escape,”

Elijah

Their third kid is a trans boy. When he was born, they named him Madeline, after Clarisse’s mom.

Clarisse always feels a little guilty, because she doesn’t cry when he’s born. She loves him, and she’s so happy to meet him, but she doesn’t cry.

They thought he was just a tomboy, like Clarisse was, but when he was seven, he was talking to Will (Uncle Will) at the beach, asking him why he had scars on his chest. Will explained that he was trans and what that meant. He spent the rest of vacation following Will around and asking him questions about being trans. On the second day of this, Will told Chris and Clarisse about this and suggested that he might be trans.

When they get home, they talk to him. He says that he would like to be a boy, so they cut his hair and give him some of Hunter’s hand-me-downs. They ask him what he’d like to be called, but he doesn’t really understand that he gets to choose his own name. He asks what his name would have been if they had known he was a boy.

Clarisse explains that he would have been named Elijah, but that he can choose his own name. But he likes Elijah. So they stick with that.

He’s the only one of the kids who doesn’t move out when they’re twelve. Katherine lives in the dorms at the School of American Ballet (until she joins the company at 17, then she moves home again), and Hunter lives at camp until college. So Eli does sometimes feel like an only child.

He goes to camp every summer and stays in the Hermes cabin. He does become kind of a pankster, often playing jokes on his older brother.

When he’s older, he dates Percy and Annabeth’s oldest daughter for a few months, but it doesn’t work out. Percy and Clarisse aren’t happy their kids are going through a break up, but they’re not not happy.

Dear Sir Cat Anon, I don’t know what exactly you expected upon sending this, but I present you an urban fantasy au oneshot. I went perhaps a bit outside what you gave me, but I got an idea and went with it.

It was supposed to be an easy in and out. The apothecary was a front for a necromancy ring, and gods the balance was too wrong to let it go. All they had to do was get in, destroy the nomicon and get out. It should have been easy. They had forgotten to factor in the modern eras own personal wonder, the automatic alarm system.

Ryan had easily gotten in, the spectre of death simply teleporting in. Unfortunately he hadn’t thought to check the shop for an alarm system when he went to let the other two in. As soon as he had opened the door the alarm went off, causing the Werebear and the Chimera to stiffen.

“Oh great.” Gavin huffed, wings angrily flapping behind him as he fiddled with his golden choker.

“Don’t give me that. Trash the store while I search.” Ryan snapped at the chimera. As a Soul Reaper Ryan had a much stronger connection to death than the others, the nomicon should theoretically sing with Death energy. Gavin rolled his eyes, clicking and hissing in an ancient tongue that even if Ryan heard would have flown over his head.

“Gavvers let the scary death dude do his job. Ours is to make this seem like an act of vandalism.” Michael gruffed out, already tearing down a bookshelf. Gavin winced at the crash and shattering of glass as the shelf of crystal balls met the floor. Gavin honestly didn’t know why he was chosen to trash the store instead of stand look out. He was much better with a scope than Jeremy. But Gavin complied, taking a rock and throwing it at the window from the outside for that extra touch of realism. So far no sirens, then again this was Los Santos, the cops probably had three other robberies to deal with as well right now. Gavin was about to ask what was taking Ryan so long when he heard a scream of pain from the reaper.

“Ryan!” Gavin called out, rushing through the ruined shop to get to his crew mate and friend.

“Stay back!” Ryan growled out, in the back of the shop. Did Gavin or Michael listen? No. The two burst into the back, seeing Ryan trapped in a very ornate sigil. Michael was immediately reeling back, a snarl on his throat. Gavin could feel the energy radiating from the sigil, could feel out sucking at his energy like a black hole.

“Trapping Sigil. Designed to kill and leech a magical entity of its energy.” Ryan grit out, cracks showing on his skin. “Fail safe on their nomicon, only activated when i destroyed it.”

“Geoff we-“ Michael shot into the comms before being stopped by Ryan.

“He won’t make it in time. You two go.”

“We can’t. I won’t.” Gavin growled out, wings flaring. The sigil was well made, but Gavin could destroy it.

“You don’t understand, this is arcane magic Gavin!” Ryan shouted, Gavin only looked at Ryan, eye glowing gold, same with the choker he always wore.

“I know Soul Reaper.” Gavin said, voice echoing as if spoken by ten of him at once. For the first time in a millenia Gavin was letting his true power leak through the facade he kept up. The ‘Chimera’ reached out, touching and shattering the sigil containing Ryan. The Reaper fell to his knees as he was freed while Michael could only watch in awe.

“Ryan, can you walk?” Gavin asked, glow subsiding as he returned to ‘normal’.

“Yes I can Seraphim.” Ryan said, causing Gavin to flinch a bit.

“Dickheads, we need to go now!” Geoff yelled into the comms. Ryan gave Gavin a look as he stood up.

“Right, we destroyed the book, we’re heading out.” Ryan said. Gavin knew Ryan had questions for him, that Michael would as well. Once everyone was safe Gavin knew he’d have to spill. But for now, escape. Gavin could hear sirens approaching and followed Ryan out. The trio booked it out of the vandalised apothecary and to the meeting place were Geoff and Jeremy were waiting.

“Jack’s got a car for us near the Theatre and Scalp intersection.” The witch told them, taking in the trio’s appearance and frowning.

“What happened?”

“We’ll explain when we get home Geoff.” Gavin said. Now was not the time to reveal to the world who he was. Gods knew what would happen. Geoff looked like he wanted to argue, but with the sound of sirens drawing closer he knew better than to argue.

“Fine. We only have a few blocks to go.” Geoff said before a cop car pulled out onto their street, headlights illuminating them.

“Run!” Jeremy shouted, turning around and just racing down the street. The others rushed to follow the son of Hermes as the police car revved after them. The quintet was practically herded into an alley by the cop, police car parked so that none of the five could run out without running into the other cop, blocking them in.

“Freeze! Put your hands behind your head and get on your knees!” The coo shouted, aiming his gun at them. The crew exchanged a quick glance before Ryan shrugged and just vanished, teleporting to the roof tops.

“No thanks Mate!” Gavin called out to the man, spreading his wings and launching up. The man looked frantic as he tried aiming at the winged man with shaky hands. Next to go was Michael, partially shifting so that he could use his massive claws to dig into the wall to climb it. Once Michael was about halfway up Jeremy gave the cop a two fingered salute before running at the wall, using his parkour skills and the crevices Michael had made to climb up after the werebear.

“I’m always the one stuck on the ground.” Geoff muttered as the cop trained his gun back on the witch.

“On your knees!” The cop shouted, trembling as he advanced on Geoff. Geoff just glared at the man, muttering a sleeping spell and flicking it at the cop. Down he went, gun clattering to the cold asphalt. Geoff shoved his hands in his pockets as he climbed the fire escape, muttering the whole time.

The group was waiting for him at the top of the building. Geoff gave each of them a glare, slightly bitter none had stayed to help. Ryan huffed and raised his hands and shook his head.

“Don’t give me that look, I’m running on empty.” The Reaper said.

“Yeah yeah. Let’s just get to Jack.” Geoff huffed out. The group followed his lead along the rooftops, ignoring the fading sound of sirens as they reached the meeting place. Just below them a midnight blue suv was waiting for them. One by one they descended, Gavin carrying Geoff this time. In no time the suv was packed full and their Selkie driver was looking over at all of them.

“Fun night boys?” They asked, a small smile on their face.

“The most Jack.” Geoff huffed out. Jack just laughed and started the drive back home.

“You three have some explaining to do.” Geoff said, looking at Gavin, Michael, and Ryan.
