the opening vocalizations in the Maasi Theme are almost (if not the) same vocalizations used in the instrumental bridge portion of Aararaari Raaro btw. in case you needed sh*t to hurt more than it already did
#film: jawan#jawan#shah rukh khan#srk#vijay sethupathi#nayanthara#sanya malhotra#priyamani#deepika padukone#bollywood#local gay watches Bollywood.txt#local gay watches Jawan (and spends the entire time filing the various SRK avatars into new DILF categories).txt#that and i think i've figured out the main leitmotifs in the soundtrack which uh. adds significantly more damage to what#has already been added bc see Azad's motifs are Aararaari Raaro and the Jawan title theme. we hear the AR motif twice before the#actual song is played (once when he's telling Narmada he wants her to know about how he grew up and once after the health#minister kidnapping when he's on the desk feet up hearing of all the equipment being delivered to the hospitals)#so that establishes a thread of sorts to his mother before we even see her#while the Jawan title theme has some elements of the Maasi Theme which then leads us to Vikram who also has two#motifs (Maasi and his rock theme that he listens to in his earbuds)#Kalee's theme is an inverted(?)/heavily influenced version of the Maasi Theme that Vikram has. it's his and then it isn't it feels wrong#somehow when you hear it—i think we might have had a brief Maasi Theme feature during the train arc with Azad just to#trick the audience into thinking it WAS Vikram but i'll have to rewind to make sure#also whenever the focus is on Azad's parents Faraatta plays in the background. whenever the focus is on his dynamic with Suji#and Narmada Chaleya plays in the background#the Girls' motif is obvious (Mis Chicas) and plays twice (once during the first half for their train introduction and once during#the second half for their somewhere on vacation introduction)#while Kalki and Eeram have their own eponymous themes. Eeram's might also have played after Aishwarya got arrested but again#don't quote me on that it'll need another rewatch#i know these tags are making zero sense but if you get it you get it you don't you don't that's all

also ruby gillman was absolutely so much better than everyone says it was. idc this movie is so much fun
#im like objectively yeah THEMATICALLY it falls a little flat/shallow but its still fun#its vivid its interesting the soundtrack is a bop the characters are compelling its super rewatchable#i like you ruby gillman teenage kraken 👍#i kept expecting it to play into tropes/conventions that i find suuuper grating but it kept subverting my expectations!! dleightfully!!!!!#100% thought they were gonna do a 'connor falls for chelsea until he realizes ruby saved him' but no that boy was FAITHFUL to his crush#and chelsea didnt pursue him i was sooo worried that was gonna be an arc i would hate#and chelsea chelsea my darling horrible queen SHE WAS SO FUN she managed to play perfectly into her archetype WITHOUT#being annoying!!! AND still feeling new and fresh!!!#and oh my goddddd RUBY shes the quirky adorkable female lead who is actually GOOD idk#what it is about her but oh my god i didnt even realize that was her archetype until i saw the movie again bc she was so#Not Annoying#like . truly the only complaints i have are that it sets up thematic threads and doesnt follow through on a lot of them and#i personally find the art style a *little* unappealing but other than that its?? its a good movie????#mine#ruby gillman#rory rambles about movies

watched the musical demon show (don't wanna name it so this post isn't in the tags) at the behest of an IRL friend and i can already tell this is going to be a piece of media where i absolutely cannot stop thinking about it, not because i really love the show as-is, but because it has so many individual components i really like and find incredibly fun or compelling, and i'm so frustrated that it doesn't come together for me
i think the main thing i can say about it as a show, setting aside some of the insensitive choices that were made that i really don't feel qualified to tackle or talk about, is that the entire thing sort of gives off this vibe of someone really excited to show you every single oc they made in high school and college and i very genuinely mean that in both the best and worst ways possible
there are some good hooks for season two though so i will absolutely give them that
#the vibe is just like... they are just soooo excited to get all their ideas out that it becomes... messy and badly paced#like there are so many moments that are cool or fun or emotional in a vaccuum but they don't connect fully y'know#because this arc or character was JUST introduced so there isn't proper build up. everything moves too quick#and it's frustrating because you can TELL that the people making this show love their ideas and characters#and i more than get thta! i am also someone with a lotta ocs i love to blab about#but i think they have been working with them so long that they#a. assume we are already just as attached to them as they are without always doing that work#b. assume we've seen all the supplemental material which. i have not#and i don't think that a professional show is the type of thing where there should be a barrier of entry that involves like#podcasts and comics and twitter threads and IC instagram posts about characters to do that emotional/lore legwork y'know#i love lore and supplemental stuff obviously but this should still be like#a satisfying experience for me a person who saw the pilot however many years ago and then has not interacted with the show or fandom since#idk man stuff felt rushed and messy and i wish i liked it more#it needed more slow moments i think. the two scenes where the group all drinks together (minus one awful joke in the bar scene) are like#the best in the show to me becase i actually believe these guys are FRIENDS. i wanna see them hang out more!#i wanna see them actually really grow to like each other organically!!! i wanna see them build connections and grow better slowly!!!#songs absolutely slap though. soundtrack is probably gonna be in my spotify unwrapped 2024#i love me a musical and that inspiration is on its sleeve which i love#also imo the humor isn't great usually. it's very juvenile imo and sometime that works but it often doesn't#(for me at least humor is obviously SUPER subjective)#also tonally they have this 'have your cake and eat it too' issue which bugs me. it's exemplified by the v's (one in particular)#actually i could go on a whole rant about the v's if anyone is interested because god i have some Thoughts#and i think my issues with the v's (namely one v) encapsulates many issues i have with the show#despite all this rambling i actually did enjoy a lot of my time with it. i just don't think it was well-written if that makes sense

steve had been the king of his small indiana town before his dad’s car dealership filed for bankruptcy, and they had to move to an even smaller town in wisconsin. steve didn’t understand what about wisconsin would make the business flourish, but it wasn’t like he had much say in the matter. before he knew it they were packing up everything steve had ever known and headed for america’s dairyland. a new town meant new friends, a new school, and having to build up his social prestige all around. steve wondered if they even had a swim team in wisconsin. the harringtons arrived in point place on a tuesday afternoon and were unloaded and settled into their new home by dinner time thanks to the hoards of movers that his miraculously-still-wealthy parents hired.
but buddy and charity harrington’s only son was nowhere to be found while they unloaded. steve had taken it upon himself to get the lay of the land, get some kind of upper hand before his first day. he walked to the center of town, stopping in some place called the hub. he was pleasantly surprised that people his age seemed to scatter the tables, at least this place wasn’t full of geezers. he played it casual, combing a hand through his hair as he walked over to the one of the gaming machines. despite his best efforts, it was pretty obvious he was sizing up the place before he pulled up a chair and straddled it backwards at a table next to the pretty girl with even nicer hair. “hey uh....” despite his best efforts, steve forgot his opener. he laughed it off and tried to look gorgeous as he raked a hand through his hair again. steve composed himself the charmingly introduced, “i’m steve, just moved.” he threw his arms over the back of the hair and gestured vaguely to this space, “this the local hang out?”

pretty much nothing! It was a rough reading week! The first part of the week I was fairly consumed with the D20 I was watching & not reading much. Then I spent FIVE DAYS reading a little over half of a 258K fic before finally accepting that though it was pretty well written and not bad, I just wasn't into it and the thought of fighting thru another 120K was appalling, so I bailed.

These are just song songs that remind me of our pairings and threads right now :)
Arthur x Felicity
There is something about this song that just screams Arthur and Felicity to me. Especially the lines “don’t pretend that you don’t want me” , and “if I’m not the one for you, you gotta stop holding me the way you do”. I am loving writing them, and I can’t wait to get to the part where they realise their feelings and potential relationship is basically forbidden, but they get each other and enjoy each others company and are catching feelings the whole time while trying to push the other away. I love it.
Also the new Taylor Swift song Hits different - “oh my love is a lie, shit my friends say to get me by, it hits different, it’s hits different with you, catastrophic blues, moving on was always easy for me to do…it hits different…cause it’s you”
Both Felicity and Arthur have had their ‘catastrophic blues’ in the past, and again it’s this whole feeling of wow this is new and exciting but we can’t!!! And the way she sings about being so drunk and calling for the other one, reminds me of them. I can see Felicity showing up at Arthur’s after a few drinks and wanting to see him.

This one!!! Sam knows he screwed up and wants to get Alana back and is showing up at her office place, bringing her flowers and just wants to prove that he is going to be there for her.

I could see Sam singing this to her in the kitchen, twirling her around and just smiling, hoping that things can go back to the way it was.
Bambi and Tommy
This song just reminds me of them walking up their hill, wishing they could spend more time together. Them going out on the town, spending time on Tommys farm, I can just see a montage of them with sunsets and laughing, him giving her a piggy back and running around the place, them dancing somewhere downtown.
The fact they definitely like each other but are scared to say it because they know it’s such a short time….ahhh “I scream for whatever it’s worth, I love you ain’t that the worst thing you ever heard HE LOOKS UP GRINNING LIKE A DEVIL, it’s new, the shape of your body it’s blue, it’s a feeling I got and it’s ooooooh it’s a cruel summer”

A telltale rattle of the front door knob behind him causes him to freeze, head and shoulders still hunched inside the appliance. With almost comical slowness, Eddie moves to straighten up, turning on his heel to find Joyce staring at him, keys still in hand. Dark eyes hold her gaze for a long moment before he blinks, seemingly coming back to himself.
"Oh...uh." The fridge door is promptly let go, let to swing shut with a soft whoosh and a muted thud of the seal. "Sorry. I guess I should introduce myself before I raid your fridge."

now you might look at this and think "this is just a bunch of shapes made using the Ms Paint shapes tool!" and you would be correct. that is what this is. however i dunno i still like it, i mean sure it's just shapes in black and white but there's something about it. like wow. those Sure Are shapes Huh. it's titled knockout! because it reminded me of the way cartoon characters see stars flying around their heads when they get dizzy, except if that cartoon character had just been put in the femur breaker or something. also had the cuphead voice clip stuck in my head i think.
#shoutout to the hexagon and six-pointed star in the top right that work together to create a person talking looking shape#also shoutout to the game i just finished for not resolving Any Loose Threads at all#nobody told me dude. nobody told me that this is just a part 1#i went into the final case (talking about The Great Ace Attorney btw) fully expecting to learn what everyone was talking about#and then the case just finished :) it just ended :)#to be fair it works as a very good cliffhanger and teaser for the second game#and i'm sure the second game explains everything i've been wondering about and been slightly spoiled on sure sure#and sure yes it's a good standalone game in it's own right if you don't go in expecting it to answer every question you have#and sure it has probably the best soundtrack and puzzles (barring the literal puzzles in PLvsPW of course) in the entire series so far#but like. STILL! idk what my point is. excited to start playing TGAA2 :)#i'd say sorry for the Words but i'm thoroughly not sorry#if you end up playing The Great Ace Attorney just know this:#each case only has one trial segment? that part baffled me.#so yeah#ms paint#abstract gart
