Elland looked at the newt on top of Deek's head and chuckled, his eyes with a bit of a mischievous squint to them. "You know, @ask-deek, I might just have something for your hard work." The Hufflepuff sat down at one of the tables, lute to his chest, quill and paper on the table as he began writing something, humming to himself, plucking some chords, and then going back to writing. You are not sure that anything you can say at this moment can break him out of the spell of creativity. In about 20 minutes Elland calls out Deek's name, spinning toward him on the chair with a grin on his face, clearly proud of whatever it is he was about to play for you.

Deek has got himself a newt D When he was playing Elrond's flute. G He tried to blow some air from it. A Deek's no musician, he'd admit. D

But what got out was a "Toot" D As newt came flying from that flute. G His little snout, oh, so cute! A Perhaps he is Deek's greatest loot. D

My opinions ain't necessary in this conversation so I ain't gonna tag this as newsies, but here

I think that some of the RP accounts are harmless. Trust me, As somebody who's ran RP accounts in other fandoms, most of them are just people having fun with their favourite characters with their friends, that's how RP works!

But like everything, there are people who tend to ruin it for everybody. Smut and shit like that is fine, don't get me wrong, but these are minors and it isn't tagged properly, so people who don't wanna see it can't block it the right way.

Moral of the story, have your fun! However, do it in a way where you aren't spamming the main fandom tag or making people super uncomfortable.

Poll about creating characters for a game really has me thinking about my methods because while I don't usually situate a character in the world/create a full backstory beforehand I feel like I need such a strong sense of who a character is, how they behave, and at least the skeleton of why they behave like that that I usually get bored and feel like I'm playing some flat nothing when I don't have that. I guess that isn't the same as having a fully rigid concept, especially since I'm happy to change things radically in conversation with a game when it's going well, but it's still enough of a distinct Guy Who Already Exists In My Brain I couldn't call it a loose concept. And usually when things go well for my looser concept characters and I develop them during a playthrough I just hit a point partway through where it's like... cool! I have completed the concept for this character now, I can stop playing and relocate them to a Real Story. They almost never feel like they fit right until they're in something where they're starting from that state, haha. I'm like this with tabletop stuff as well. I'm not always the ten page backstory guy but if I'm not at least coming in with some needlessly complex portrait of personality the character is not going to stick for more than a oneshot. Just doesn't interest me to play! I don't feel like I'm seeing through their eyes yet. Can't get in the right zone mentally. I think that's what it's really about for me- a loose concept is rarely immersive, and without that immersion I just struggle to feel like the actions are coming from the character instead of me and come together into a cohesive story about the character (rather than one about me pushing buttons).

Anyways, about rwat. They have severe intrusive thoughts constantly, and were in a manic state while sending threats and shit to paris which peaked with that package to sprite- but has now dipped down and they're more reasonable, though still unstable

i'll tell you one thing that i've never told anyone on here before. i know that this will make it publically known. but i think telling you will help.

i don't know what - i've repressed most of that memory. but i was a stupid kid. i'm still a stupid adult sometimes. i probably snapped. my point is - if i can come back from that, so can you.

if you don't want to talk for now - or at all - i understand. i'll work on finding a good therapist near you who doesn't work with the cops - not sure if that's a worry you had, but easing it anyway. cops suck but if you'd like i will absolutely support you, okay? i can't go too extreme without drawing attention, but through... slight money laundering through my dude in johto i can make sure you have at least stable housing and supplies so you don't have to worry about those.

just remember. small steppy better than no steppy. and two steps forward one step back is still a net gain.

Honestly, the people that HATE characters bother me more than apologists ngl.

Like, if you want to try to apologize for dream, what ever, its going to take some serious mental gymnastics, but, yknow. Whatever makes you happy just don't be a dick about it. Same with anyone else, wilbur, techno, sam, quackity, etcetc.

But like, theres no way to HATE a character and NOT be a dick. Im not talking dislike. Theres characters in the dsmp that i could care less for. Thats fine. But like, im also not writing essays about how XYZ character deserves whatever horrific and abusive thing that happened to them for ABC reason. Or trying to say that they ruined the storyline, or that the smp would be better off with out their character in it. Or that the people that like that character are bad/stupid/unable to think critically/whatever.

Actual viseral HATRED of a character has ALWAYS come off as more toxic to me than someone that tries to justify their favorite characters actions.

Don't get me wrong, i get that a lot of apologists are often the ones that hate other characters like that. But I'd rather put up with "dream is just trying to make the server whole again!!!1!" Over "Tommy should have gotten worse than exile!" You feel me?

Huh, I was pretty sure I turned off the anon asks. Weird.

Anyway, I haven't been on for like a week (extensive research, proofing my new safehouse balls to the walls, the WORKS), so I've been just catching up with the latest drama. No mysterious messages coming in, not to me or anyone I happen to know on here.

I doubt this is the end of it, but at least for now, things are calm.

I've been making progress with my Rubik's cube and chess strategy. The latter is still pretty dogshit, but Rubik's cube skillz are definitely improving

I just want to take a few minutes to ramble about the inherent hilarity of Caleb Widogast becoming a professor as a level 17 wizard.

Caleb became a professor after turning down becoming an Archmage and deciding that TIME TRAVEL wasn’t for him. While that is all very in character, it’s also crazy as all hell and just very funny to me. Cause like, most of the professors there? Probably around level 8-10. Maybe one or two level 11 or 12, excluding the Headmaster because Archmage.

Level 17-20 is you are a legendary hero, pretty much a Demi-god. Once a character reaches level twenty they only way they can get more powerful is if they start developing legendary resistances and lair actions like Goddamn dungeon boss or bbeg. And Caleb is just. Teaching, and fiddling with the highest level magics and digging out evil on the side. And like, this sort of thing is all true of all the M9, and it’s funny for all of them, it’s just funniest with Caleb to me.

Just- Caleb apologizing to his class for missing a few days, he was dealing with something. Dealing with something being he and Beau were in some epic battle with an evil wizard or something. It’s his go to excuse when he gets caught up in business with Beau or has a high magic accident. “I was dealing with something” could be as simple as the normal he was moving, some friends got married, to he physically fighting corruption, he accidentally trapped himself in a demiplane for 24 hrs while he was trying to figure that spell, ect.

Random Professor: I finally got Telekinesis working properly. Math isn’t my strongest suit, I got forcefully flung into the ceiling so many times before I figured the equation out with my notations.

Caleb, who has fought Demi-gods, dragons, and can teleport long distance a few times a day if he wants: Ja, I hear that. It’s fun to use for pranks, though.

If a bright wizard of the far future tried to dig into the legendary Wizard Caleb Widogast, after like finding an artifact or scroll Old Man Caleb made or something, they’d have such a weird time. The source of this powerful Magics they found and he was just a dude. He was rumored to have a harem of male lovers (just Essek in his many disguises), he taught transmutation, there is cat imagery all over his stuff, every portrait they find of him has like 12 dicks hidden in it. What the hell?

I just- it’s just really funny to me.
