| DARLING, OUR STARS ARE DYING, BUT WE'VE STILL YEARS LEFT TO BURN ( lando norris. ) |
Tumblr media
ꕥ pairing: lando x reader
ꕥ parts: 2
ꕥ summary: their relationship is dying while their love burns strong, yet they're unsure if they can save themselves.
ꕥ authors note: I have an idea for a part two, so if anyone wants a continuation of what happens, let me know :3
ꕥ warnings: it's just sad. minor implications of sex, but mostly angst and heartbreak.
SOMETHING WAS WRONG. they hadn't known what, but something was off in their relationship. for years, they'd loved each other, and no doubt they still did. they'd spent every waking moment they could with each other, but they hadn't realized their relationship had grown stale, unchanging for years.
it puzzled them because the love they had for each other still burned strong, but their relationship is dying.
they'd find themselves spending less time with their lover, more time with their friends in separate nightclubs across monaco. though their relationship lacked excitement, they would never seek it out in other people. because at the end of the day, they'd find their way home, drunkenly stumbling through the door of their apartment and back into each other's arms.
they found themselves depending less on the other for entertainment and companionship. their love wasn't dead, but their relationship felt like it.
when sitting right next to each other at the dinner table changed to sitting at opposite ends. when they'd make a mess in the kitchen to cook a dinner to share between them changed to making separate meals at different times.
though they were still young, it felt like life had finally caught them as they got entangled in their careers. he traveled the world, she stayed in the comfort of their apartment. maybe it was lacking. lacking the naivety of their youth that created the spark of their relationship.
because when he was home for odd weeks during the year, he was always out. from the crack of dawn till the sun set on the other side of the sky, he'd be out exercising with his trainer, having dinners with his team, or just clubbing.
and she'd barely attend his races now, her presence unseen in the paddock, causing numerous rumors to surface and plague the internet. because when they'd be seen in public together, which was a rare occurrence now, they wouldn't have a single touch to connect them.
the internet had realized their status before they had. nobody knew why they'd changed, not even the couple that had been through thick and thin. they couldn't imagine being apart, but it was like they were bored.
they didn't know what to do. they'd been through countless struggles together, finding solutions in the dark. but they had no flame to light their path this time.
it killed them. they wanted so badly to revive their love, but they didn't know how. they knew they needed to talk, but they were never around anymore. they didn't even sleep in the same bed as one another.
it was often they could find themselves with eyes wandering their wall with pictures framed, a few crooked that she would pester and nag him to no end to fix. he never would. the imperfect perfectness every time he looked between their faces, eyes crinkled with smiles caused a sad one to take it's form on his face.
he missed the memories between them because they were that, memories. they'd never do anything like that now. no ski trips where he'd spray her with snow with every stop, with her cursing him out all in good fun. because she'd do it right back.
no more lying on beach towels next to each other in the sun, getting tan, though she told lando he never needed to. and every time without fail, he'd take her sunscreen, squirting odd shapes onto her back that'd be displayed for weeks. she'd always slap him for it.
they didn't go out anymore. any attempts to relive what they once experienced were futile. they tried fancy restaurants, but silence with high tension plagued the air around them as they ate awkwardly.
because now it felt like they were back to square one. when he claimed to know her like the back of his hand, he wouldn't be so sure now. it was like they didn't know who they were anymore. they stopped talking to each other because they'd given up. there wasn't anything they could do.
she'd been on their couch, aimlessly flicking through countless tv channels. her eyes weren't even on the screen, and her hand was on autopilot while she channel-surfed. she'd let out another sigh, her eyes rolling over to his office door.
it was ajar, she could see movement from inside the room. she looked longing at it. she remembered when she'd distract him from his work, placing herself in different spots around the room, but ultimately ending up on his desk.
her eyes adjusted back to the tv, shutting it off and tossing the remote somewhere on the couch. she sat in silence for a while, listening to the sounds of him living in another world just ten steps away. because their relationship had gotten to the point where it felt like they were living in different time periods that crossed each other's lives.
they'd barely focus on each other because they didn't have the time. they were never alone together anymore, always in separate rooms, or surrounded by friends.
it pained her, guilt building in her body with every step. her stomach churning with every creak in the floorboards. she walked on the tips of her toes to his office. she hovered over the door handle, despite the door being slit open.
part of her hesitated because she didn't want to do this. she didn't want to leave him, to lose him, but it felt as if she didn't have a choice. remaining a couple benefit neither of them, it only hurt what remained and what remained was merely nothing.
but he was her first love, and first everything. it felt like betrayal to turn her back now, but she's afraid their backs have been turned for months because she can't recall the last time she thought of him as her soulmate. she loved him, but was love simply enough to save them?
when she pushed open that door, she knew she'd never be the same. they wouldn't be the same and part of her was okay with that because nothing's changed. she couldn't keep living like this, she was still young. young enough to meet another person to settle with, which seemed crazy to her to think about. she'd never thought about anyone but him.
"lando, can we talk?"
the hair on the back of his neck rose, dread filling his heart. he'd been waiting to hear those words for months, every conversation, they loomed in the back of his mind. though he hated how much he expected to hear it, he knew it had to happen.
he'd turn in his swivel chair, pen nervously pushed between his lips. he looked at her sadly, already feeling the words yet to leave her lips.
"I think we should break up," her voice broke, caused by the tears that streaked down her face. she hated herself for breaking down, being vulnerable when they both knew it was coming to an end. it still hurt because despite her words, she loved him. she knew he did too.
he didn't know what to say, a simple 'okay' felt too harsh, but the tears in his eyes would've spilled if he spoke any more.
so he simply nodded, muttering something completely inaudible to her, and himself.
she shook her head, gazing at him through her hazy, tear-stained vision, her voice high in a struggled whisper, "what's wrong with us?"
"i wish i knew, darling," he slowly stood, his feet dragging across the carpet on the wooded floors. he stopped in front of her, a sad look across his face as he stared down at her. he noticed how she no longer wore his hoodies, or any of his clothes.
hesitantly, his arms wrapped around her, pulling her into his chest, he knew for the final time. he bit his tongue in hopes of not showing weakness because he didn't want to make her feel worse than she already did.
"i know i promised us we would fix this, but I don't know what to do." he muttered into her hair as he shook against her, " 'm sorry i broke my promise, love."
" 'ts okay."
"but it's not."
"i know." she pulled away, wiping her tears on her hoodie. she sniffled, her nose and eyes red while she gazed up at him, "i'll pack my things, 'ts your apartment after all."
he was quick to shut her down, shaking his head, nearly breaking down as he spoke, "no, I couldn't kick you out." because what boyfriend—ex-boyfriend would he be if he kicked her out onto the blazing streets of monaco? he couldn't do that to the girl he loved so deeply, but he knew he couldn't stay. he had to let her go and he despised it because he knew it was for the best.
"I'll stay with max," he said simply, looking at her desperately with sad eyes, "please, let me just take care of you, financially at least."
"it feels wrong to depend on you."
"i know, but 'ts the one thing I can do for us."
so he left, packed his bags and drove his mclaren far from their apartment, now hers. he looked in the rearview mirror sadly, seeing her standing in the only hoodie he'd left for her. he couldn't see the tears in her eyes, but he knew they were there like they were in his.
he nearly turned around. he wanted to fix this because he didn't want to leave her. she was all he knew and it was like starting over. it felt like betrayal to leave her and find himself in a random club across the city.
but he'd been doing that for months with no issue. it only hurt now that he didn't have an apartment to go back to with her presence residing in it.
he punched the glass of his rearview mirror because it felt like the past staring him in the face. because she should've been in his future.

hold on — carmy berzatto
Tumblr media Tumblr media
a/n: we want soft moments for carmy only!! It is the season of love after all. I’m taking a stab at writing a little bit this month, I’ve been more in the spirit this time around. Nothing too long but hopefully makes you feel a little something.
S/n: always written with a blk or brown woman in mind. Not overly descriptive so you’re welcome to imagine whomever.
prompt: running a bath for a loved one + catering to them like Destiny’s child :)
WARNINGS: things get eccentric? Idk I have no ties with the spirit realm or healers lol. I did minimal research, not gonna lie. This is just for story purposes, don’t take it too seriously if it’s not really your thing—It’s not Carmy’s either! + gif belongs to its rightful owner! You know the deal.

“Uh, how the hell did you get into my apartment?” Carmy stood frozen in the entryway of his living room.
That last thing he expected to see was his old and only friend from high school swaying away in his living room.
A deep dimple appeared in her cheek as she glanced over her shoulder at the blue eyed man.
“Carmy! Welcome home!” She waved the incense in the air as if it was a wand, before walking on her toes towards him, he knew that habit to be from years of gymnastics.
Interlocking her wrists around Carmy’s neck, her dark eyes connected with his much lighter ones.
“Not that it’s not great to see you but…what are you doing here?” Carmy pried, almost waiting for her to drop some form of news on him.
They shared the same sentiments yet Carmy knew how to deal with it better. He found a sense of comfort being attached to his family, that was one thing that he was sure of, having family at the end of the day. Carmy already knew that he would be right down at the original beef after graduation, beside his brother, Mikey, continuing to help what their parents could no longer do.
He was the youngest so whenever Carmy was exposed to questioning events in the Berzatto household, his head was always turned to face another direction. That’s how it always was. From the moment he entered senior year and his dad started complaining about chest pains, Mikey would push Carmy to help their mom clean the kitchen, when he would catch his mother and sugar giggling about some special date she was excited about, Mrs. Berzatto would ask if he had a date of his own with her tonight, and when there would be arguments between his mother, Mikey, and their father about Mr. Berzatto putting off doctor visits, Sugar would drag Carmy back upstairs to talk about school.
It seemed as if everyone wanted to lead Carmen to another path, a better one in their eyes but it all ended up bittersweet in the process.
She suddenly gripped Carmy’s face, analyzing every detail as if she could ever forget what he looked like. Round blue glaciers for eyes, a tall pointed nose, scruff all along his jaw and chin, long brows and thin at the tips, faint moles underneath his left eye and another on his cheek by the scar sugar accidentally gave him one summer.
Still Carmy.
Except she always seemed to know more than what she let on, even if they haven’t talked but that didn’t mean she didn’t attempt to in her own way. They were always on different time zones and she sent a post card every once in awhile that he kept tucked inside a impressive bookcase.
“You need to prioritize self-care, my friend.”
“That’s doesn’t answer my question.” Carmy sighed, he was used to his friend’s mind wandering.
Huffing she spun away from him, long lettuce trimmed skirt ruffled at her ankles as she placed the incense in a ashtray that sat on the coffee table. The woman stood in almost perfect posture, inhaling and turning back with hands on her waist.
Her arms were equally decorated in tattoos as she twisted her fingers out to Carmy who just blinked at her, “isn’t it obvious? I’m here to provide that self-care.”
“Which entails…what exactly?” Carmy leaned from one foot to the other, while crossing his arms.
She walked up to place her fingertips against Carmy’s abdomen, “your gut-health is heavy. I can just tell by looking at you. It’s holding a lot and we need to clear that up.”
“No.” Carmy lightly flicked her hand away to plop down on the couch, “Whatever spiritual shit you wanna do, I don’t have the energy to get into tonight. I just worked a twelve hour shift and all I want to do is try to get a nap in—
“Napping is not full sleep. This cleanse will help with that and that’s what I’m here for.”
“Who says I need it? Let me guess? Sugar?” Carmy scratched at his hair, “‘ppreciate that but I’m not feeling it. Take it up with her for wasting your trip back here.”
“Spending time with you is never a waste,” she stated patiently with her hands clasped in front of her, “I know you’re not into my whole spiritual shit, which is fine. But I’m here and we need to do something better than just holding on.”
Carmy felt his brows twitch into a frown but found himself pressing his chin into the palm of his hand in thought. It was his turn to look at his old friend. Of course he had a idea that she found some sort of spiritual awakening when he received a postcard from Nepal…and he knew this was genuine but Carmy always had to keep moving.
He didn’t have time to let things settle.
Carmy also noticed that she said, “we,” which wasn’t so foreign. She’s always been the kind of person to take your problems as her own. However Carmy couldn’t help but to think that something else might be going on with her too. After all it’s been two years since they physically saw each other and a lot can happen in two years, hell—even a year!
“Can we start with a simple conversation first?” Carmy started, “how’ve you been?”
“Ah,” she kicked out a bare foot, “I already made myself comfortable. We can do the socializing after we take care of you first.”
“I don’t need—
A look was sent his way and Carmy found himself scoffing out laughter. She was not letting this whole “gut saving,” thing go. He pinched at the skin in between his brows as he thought this over. One thing he was aware of is, he wouldn’t get as much sleep as he needed so at least he would continue to be productive?
“Okay honey, what do we—
Before he could finish his sentence she skipped right up to him. She interlocked their fingers together and tugged for him to get back on his feet. Carmy was used to the soreness in his feet; being on them hours at a time so he ignored the buckle in his knees as he stood. His eyes locked on her frame as she sent him a sweet smile, leading the way with her woodsy but powdery scent lingering in the air.
Carmy did not expect to be brought into his bathroom. How the cubed space was only illuminated by pillar candles and smelled citrusy instead of the usual bleach and Lysol filled bathroom. His eyes then shifted to the greenery that was hooked to the tub.
“Why is there eucalyptus hanging on my shower?
“There’s also small bags of it combined with lavender wrapped around the sink,” she added, “I told you, I’m here to help.”
“By putting a hex on me?”
Suddenly she gasped as if the man she’s known for the longest offended her, “I would never! Not to you, my true soulmate. But I don’t recommend reaching out to my last two partners though. They might say something different.”
Carmy snorted out a laugh.
He was still skeptical but he also knew her. It was not in her nature to want to hurt him, they were too connected.
“alright uh, what do I need to do? Is there a pentagram hiding underneath one of these rugs or what?” Carmy lightly joked while she rolled her eyes.
She sat on the edge of the tub and ran her hand across, which echoed the sound of water splashing around. Shaking her hand out she crossed one leg over the other and dipped her head, “remove your clothing.”
“What?”
“Connecting with the water in the way that we first entered the planet is key. We as humans have had a spiritual connection to water for generations, it’s what we need to survive but it’s also energetically healing.” She explained to the man who listened but still couldn’t find that correlation.
Carmen hummed as he nodded his head, “that’s cool to know and I respect it but I’m not getting naked.”
“Do you shower with your clothes on?”
“Of course not.”
Her stare was intense,“Then what are you so afraid of?”
“I’m not taking my clothes off in front of you, that’s out!” Carmen hissed while she exhaled.
She pushed off the edge of the tub, “I never said you had to get completely naked…you’re not ready for that step in vulnerability and that’s okay. I’ll do that for the both of us.”
In that moment Carmy felt like his eyes were about to bulge out of his head like one of those squeak toys. He stalked towards her, reaching for her wrist to halt her from yanking the tie that was around her neck.
“Don’t do that, it’s not necessary.”
Her laugh sounded like bells as a small one escaped her full lips, “it kinda is and I can say that because I’m a healer. This is my territory. You don’t have to be shy, we’ve seen each other in our natural glory plenty of times before! You have a wonderful body…from what I can remember anyways.”
Carmy puffed out a breath, “God! what am I? A fifteen year old boy who just had their mother walk in on them fresh out the shower and is trying to erase her son’s embarrassment?”
“Did that happen with you and Mrs. Berzatto?” Her head tilted to the side while Carmy dropped her wrist.
He ran a hand over his mouth in frustration, “shut up. I’m not doing this stupid therapy session with you so that you feel…whatever it is you think you’re gonna feel. I don’t need you to fix me…I’m going to the sessions okay? and why won’t you answer why you’re really here?”
It was the first silence that filled the bathroom that made Carmy flick his eyes back to his old friend. She began slowly pacing the bathroom now as she took in his emotions. They’ve always been a “weird” duo growing up, with her wearing all sorts of whacky colors and patterns, a large vitiligo patch that took up the apple of her right cheek trailing up to her temple, and preferred doodling and creating stories than talking to other people.
Yet she never seemed to mind talking to Carmen. He had the stutter and preferred her speaking for them both when they were around large groups of people, especially when he got nervous. Carmen’s mind was always wandering but whenever she was near it tended to slow down for some time.
Like the possibility of a dream could be reality when their eyes held onto each other.
“Please don’t forget who you’re talking to here,” she softly said, “I’ve always loved you for all that you are…even if you don’t exactly know who that is yet. My intentions are to solely just be here, next to you, while you heal.”
She didn’t attend Michael’s funeral because she didn’t deal with death well. However she knew that it wasn’t about her and sent her condolences to Mrs. Berzatto while sharing a lengthy phone call with sugar. With Carmy? He dodged her attempts to reach out to him and she didn’t take it personal. Sure death was part of the life experience but it always felt so out of place to her back then. She also learned that Carmy didn’t attend either—not mentally anyways…he was in town for the service but he couldn’t bring himself to stay inside the church or watch them place his big brother into the ground.
She understood that better than he did.
“No, I get that. Fuck, I’m sorry…Even if the philosophy is strange as hell,” Carmy let out a long exhale, “but I’m sensing something else is going on. What is it?”
That’s when she let her top fall and Carmy immediately put his back to her, “Jesus! Why!? Are you serious right now?”
“Very.” She responded walking to the tub and climbing in with only her low-waist skirt, “the water’s starting to cool off. Are you getting in or is this going to be a one person session?”
What did Carmen really have to lose?
He still wasn’t getting naked but he did kick his shoes to the side and step out of his work-day trousers. He swallowed with his eyes closed and took a deep breath before he moved to head to the tub. Just as he was getting ready to climb in, her voice halted him.
“Against me, instead of across. My heart to your sacral and possibly solar plexus.” She instructed.
Carmy kept his eyes on her face and figured this would be easier with him in front. Shaking his head, he held onto the edge of the tub before he shifted to face the opposite direction and stepped in. The water was much hotter than he expected, letting out a hiss as the water stung at his ankles. Although the bathroom was dim he could see swirls of pink salt and petals, orange and lemon slices, and herbs floating around.
“Sit.”
“I’m gonna!”
“Your flat ass is still in my face.”
“Oh, Fuck off.”
“I love you too.”
Carmy rolled his eyes as he slowly allowed his body to sink into the steaming water. He sat forward, both tatted hands resting against the edge of the tub. Briefly he glanced over his shoulder at her in question, “so what now?”
Her hand shot out, reaching under his arm and over to push at his chest, urging him to rest his head back against her clavicle. Carmy exhaled as he felt his shirt become damp and cling to him now.
“You know…you’re still very bossy.”
“Coming from a chef? I think not.”
A twitch of a smile appeared on his lips at that.
Her arm remained wrapped across his chest and hugged him from underneath the pit.
“We’re going to set the intention now.”
“Which means what?”
“Set what the purpose of this healing will be for you.”
“You said you could see the gut issues all on me…whatever that means,” Carmy began talking with his hands, the droplets fell from the tips of his fingers, “so I’m guessing it would be for that?”
“You got it.”
“…and what about you?”
“Hm?”
“You wouldn’t be inside the water with me if this healing sesh was just for me, now would you?” Carmy asked.
The man was smarter than he gave himself credit for.
She thought fast, “I had to get you in here somehow right?”
It was Carmy’s turn to hum now. The hand that was once covered in water and herbs, lifted to press against her’s. Silently that was his way of knowing and telling her that when she was ready, he was around.
“So,” she breathed, “let’s start by closing our eyes, focus on your breathing, and then the feeling of the water.” She coached.
Carmen always had trouble focusing but the second he closed his eyes, blackening his sight momentarily and inhaled the multitude of scents that were in the room with him now, it all began to feel natural. He didn’t feel himself flinch as another hand gently rested on his stomach as he inhaled then exhaled.
He got comfortable with his back pressed against her front, a ink embedded arm was secure around his body, while the rest of him gradually felt lighter the longer he kept his eyes closed. Any negative thought that occurred in his day that dared to swirl through his mind, was almost instantly bum rushed away with a snarl he was familiar with.
He wanted to open his eyes to question it, how the ball of emotions he kept bottled up could be smacked away just like that? It couldn’t be that easy…although his legs and feet felt like he was floating but was still leveled by the guide that held him by the chest. Up ahead of his body, he felt the tugging of the organ that beat inside of it’s cage, covered in barbed wire until his head rolled to the side.
He thought when his eyes adjusted to the few burned out candles, that he must have dozed off for maybe ten-twenty minutes? It wasn’t until he felt the once steaming water was now barely lukewarm. Abruptly he sat up, water sloshing as he looked around, before he twisted his body to face his friend who sat peacefully with a J pressed to her lips.
“How do you feel?” She asked around a cloud of smoke that she blew to the side.
Carmy used the palms of his hands to press into his eyes until he saw stars, “ah…what the hell was that?”
“Did you see something?”
“I saw a lot that doesn’t really make a whole lotta sense to me.” Carmy admitted.
She dipped her head in understanding, “yeah, my first time also fucked with my head…then it all came together.” She responded before leaning forward, “here.”
Carmy plucked the j and brought it to his lips, taking a few puffs before he scooted forward, getting ready to explain but she held out her hands to stop him. “We don’t have to discuss it now. You marinate on it first after you get more sleep and see if your perception changes in twenty-four hours.”
He blinked, unsure what to say to that. Sometimes dreams? Illusions? weren’t meant to be discussed. Just felt. However Carmy felt like he had some concerns from what he just witnessed.
“How long was I out?”
“Almost an hour.”
Carmy let out a low whistle, “Can I?”
She motioned for him to feel free as he slid back to rest against her chest. He took another puff before passing it back to the woman who held onto it between her fingers. Carmen also did the honors of grabbing her other hand to play with her fingers.
It started to come back to him in spurts, almost like a spasm until she pressed her nose to the side of his face. “You need a official shower now, stinky bear.”
Carmy breathed out a laugh joking, “are you taking that with me too, honey bear?”
“Only if you’re comfortable.”
And that’s how they ended their night, standing face to face with Carmy underneath the shower head. It was his turn to search her face, cradling it while using the pads of his thumbs to caress her skin. Her hands stayed on his wrists, as they shared this intimate moment with the cleanse running down the drain.
Carmy hoped she didn’t run away once he revealed that he knew her secret. However it gave him some sort of warmth inside to know that she wanted to be near him when it happened. So he held her stare for as long as she wanted before she fully stepped into his embrace.
Skin to skin.
Her head fit right against his neck and he used the arm that didn’t rest against her back, to reach up to take the claw-clip that held her twists up. They fell down like a curtain around her and Carmy felt her squeeze herself even tighter to him then.
“I see you too, ya know?” He whispered over her head.
“It feels good to be seen doesn’t it,” she replied, “that’s why I’m glad the universe made you my person.”
She didn’t give much away, she was tricky like that and it was on the tip of Carmy’s tongue but he knew she didn’t want to make tonight about her.
It was not her intention.
So he’d save it for another day and hoped she stayed long enough for him to comfort her in return—no further questions asked—if the cleanse was right.
He gripped her chin this time, turning her face to place his lips on both of her eyes.
That hold that she had on him would not go unseen.
He cared too much to let that happen.
After all, she was just as much as his soulmate as he was her’s.

Tumblr media
The sweet aroma invaded your sense of smell, as you blissfully admired the array of flower petals that surround you in the warm water that you were sitting in right now. Gently, you glided your hand across the water, watching the petals also softly move with the direction of the current causing some of them to stick to your hand like a tattoo. However, before you could even move your hand again to keep you somewhat entertained, you felt an unexpectanted grip on your wrist, only for the same hand to be pulled up as the person behind you placed a kiss within your inner palm causing you to turn around to see what your husband was intending to do.
The man behind you, who still has his lips on your palm, opened his eyes to showcase his charming scarlet eyes as he looked down upon you only for him to smile softly at you - a rare smile that he only reserved for you and you only. Smiling softly back to him, you took the opportunity to caress his cheek as you admired the black markings that were permanently painting on his skin.
To him, at this current moment in time, you were at your most beautiful state as the water glistened beautifully on your bare skin with some of the petals stuck on to you, making you look like a painting made by the greatest artist with your hair stuck upon your neck due to it being soaked with the water that you and him were in right now.
“What’s going on in that little mind of yours?” Sukuna quietly asked as he leaned forward to place a heavy kiss upon your lips, leaving you no room to answer his question as you were so concentrated on the euphoric feeling to which then you felt his arms slowly wrap around your small figure, entrapping you in his embrace, leaving you no choice but to completely turn your body to face him as you then placed your leg on either side of him causing some of the water to overflow over the wooden bath, but that left no concern for you or the King of Curses.
“Nothing,” you answered him with a heavy breath once your both pulled apart, but still this little thought of yours was still plaguing your mind. “Don’t lie to me little one, you know better than not to lie to me ever,” Sukuna muttered, as his hand snaked from tracing your collarbone to having a light hold on your neck. However, it wasn’t the usual hold he would have against his opponent where his grip would tighten to disturb the airflow leading to the suffocation the unfortunate victim but rather a comforting gesture as his thumb moved up and down, expressing to you that you were able to open up to him about anything that was troubling your mind.
“When I pass, I came to the realisation that it won’t bother you at all,” you admitted to him with a soft smile, as you run your hand through his dampened hair. Although, the curse himself, exhibited the opposite reaction to what you were expressing right now making him wonder what caused you to question your importance to him.
“Little one, when you state that absurd comment, it does nothing but infuriate me,” Sukuna voiced out to you as he leaned forward towards you - to the point where you were chest to chest - before leaving a few kisses upon your jawline. “When you pass, I will have no idea how to control myself. I may be sadistic in nature but you have calmed me down to extreme lengths that sometimes I am scared to admit. When you pass, I have nothing left to hold, no other person can take your place. Ever.” Sukuna expressed to you as he then leaned back to look at you in the eye, only to see your surprised express to his admission, “don’t ever, let that ridiculous idea come to plague your mind again Y/N, you are mine for eternity as I am yours, there is no escape from it, we are bonded forever,”.
“Forever ha?” you repeated him in a light breath, only for him to pull you into another heated kiss as his hands began to wonder around your body as if he was tracing everything to memory. Your body, your heart and your soul was entirely bonded to him as the same goes for him to you. As he said, there was no escape from it.

“Sorry, but he’s not coming back”
Stood frozen, you didn’t have the strength to look back on who was behind you nor did you want to lose sight of Fushiguro, knowing out of the both of you, he was in the most danger.
“Don’t be so frightened, I’m in a good mood right now, since I get to physically see you again Y/N, so let’s chat for a bit” Sukuna cunningly commented, causing you to widen your eyes while the cold sweat behind your back began to intensify, fearful on what the King of Curses intended for you.
‘I need to quickly get Fushiguro to a safe place….but how? Damn it! How?’
However, before you could even move, the King of Curses decided that he would move for you to present himself to both of yours and Fushiguro’s view. “This is what he gets for trying to use me without any kind of pact, feels like he’s having some trouble switching back,” Sukuna stated as if he was explaining on why Itadori couldn’t gain control even after showcasing back in Sendai that he could.
“Still, though it’s a matter of time,” Sukuna continued to talk as he casually ripped off the top of Itadori’s uniform, showcasing the black markings on his body. On the other hand, what happened next caused you and Fushiguro to widen your eyes in terror as Sukuna suddenly viciously stabbed himself in the chest with his hand before slowly taking out the beating heart that was inhibiting Itadori’s body.
“I’m taking this brat hostage”
Finally having the guts to move your body, using the extremely little gap of time you had, you swiftly grabbed onto Fushiguro’s sleeve before speedily using your curse energy to form a protective sphere around his body leaving you alone in the open to any attacks the special grade curse could use on you now.
“Y/N!” Fushiguro shouted while beginning to violently bang his arms on the orb that you had manifested around him, trying to obtain a crack or a weak spot to let him out. “What are you doing you, idiot?!” Fushiguro then questioned you in a state of panic, trying to gain some understanding of what you were planning. However, you didn’t answer.
“Your goodwill stayed with you even after 1000 years, there’s nothing more than I expected from my little one, though I am frustrated at the fact that it isn’t reserved for me”
Still somewhat fearful but now confused, you quickly used your curse energy to construct a black katana out of thin air, before raising up to point the tip to Sukuna’s neck. “Oh?” Sukuna expressed before smiling at you with such pride expressed on his face, “it’s been such a long time since you have threatened me like that Y/N, you were powerful in words back then but now you gained powers of a sorcerer, what a magnificent discovery,”.
‘What can I do? I have a limit of summoning 20 weapons at the same time but is that even enough to even get a single scratch on him?’
“Do you not remember me? Little one, you look as beautiful as you did that night, your hair wet from the rain and your skin still beautiful glistens then the water hits your face” Sukuna playfully commented, as he took a step closer to you causing you to take one step back.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” you finally spoke to the man in front of you, only for him to smirk even wider. However, before he could even get another single word in, you immediately summoned another 19 weapons - maximizing your limit -  from spear, swords and axes behind him, only for all of then to immediately come down with a powerful strike causing a large explosion to erupt as dust from the ground suddenly flared up, blinded your view as well as Fushiguro’s causing his anxiety to heighten on what was going on and where you were.
“You always somehow impressed me, little one. There is never a day where I am disappointed,” a deep voice commented, causing you to widen your eyes once you saw Sukuna standing right in front of you with an uncharacteristic soft smile on his face - leaving you in an extreme state of confusion once a blurred image of a man smiling at you slowly constructed in your mind.
“Why?” you question yourself in a perplexed tone.
‘How?’
“Why do I suddenly feel like I've seen you smile at me like that before?” you quietly questioned, still engulfed in the dusty smoke that was surrounding the both of you. Slowly and gently gripping on to the wrist on your other hand, Sukuna slowly raised it up before placing a small kiss within the palm of your hands causing an almost unnoticeable tiny electric current to travel up your arm to the kissed palm - as if it was something that your body suddenly remembered.
“We are bonded forever, remember that little one” Sukuna declared to you in a softer tone than he had expressed earlier before the black markings slowly started to fade indicating to you that Itadori was steadily coming back, causing you to drop your katana and open your arms once you felt his heavy body fall upon yours.
“Itadori?” you quietly called, still hoping that he was alive somehow even without the use of the vital organ that was now out of his body.
“Y/N?” Itadori called out to you just in time as the dust around you began to fade, “I’m almost done for, but I guess I don’t have to worry you, Fushiguro, Kugisaki and Gojo-sensei anymore, live a long life,”, but before you could even get a single sound in to tell him that he was going to be okay, you felt his body slowly go limp indicating to you that he was now gone.
“Bonded forever?”
