However I don’t want to get your hopes up but that’s mainly because I’m not 100% sure on whether or not I want to do that since there’ll probably be a lot of people who’d want their OCs included and that’s a bit nerve wracking to me and also because I dunno how many scenes I’ll be able to do to include them (ʘᗩʘ;)

When I first found your blog (however many moons ago that was) I was a hardcore angsty teen who was a super Shadamy fan only. No one was perfect for Amy but Shadow. I couldnt even look at anything ESPECIALLY Sonamy without hating it. However i loved your art and your art style. So I would grin and bare it just to see your newest post. Your comics/drawings/random dribbles slowly brought me to the dark side, and right before I was crossing over you disappeared. * Poof * And I was left with a small Sonamy whole in my heart.
Over the years I've grown and learned that other ships are fine even if I dont agree with them.
And while I'm still very much a Shadamy person first....Sonic can slide in sometimes too 😅.
And the really interesting part is you come back just as I'm planning my own wedding.
Feels kinda Full circle just a little.

It's May, the year is 1961.
Jimmy is in the start of his second season as a right fielder for the New York Yankees and his fourth in major league baseball overall. Not a particularly impressive player with a rather normal batting average, he's managed to skate by without too much notice. No one's going to be wearing a jersey with his name on it when they come to fill out the stands, but that's alright, Jimmy is doing the only thing he has ever wanted to do—play ball.
Maybe his second season starts off pretty good—nothing to write home about, but for a while he's really hit his stride. And maybe some reporter isn't happy about the page time that they've been getting recently and decides to publish something reactionary just to get their foot jammed stubbornly in the door. They look at Jimmy on the bottom of the Yankees roster, they look at his not-insignificant amount of home-runs so far this season, and they write some crude article like "nobody Yank takes a crack at the Babe's record—as if!"
Everyone knows that Babe Ruth is just about the most famous and well-respected name in baseball, so it doesn't matter whether or not Jimmy intends on chasing any records (he doesn't), the press takes it and runs, and now the public thinks he does.
Jimmy ends up in a race against the clock: he has to hit at least 61 home runs by the end of the season in September; worse than that almost is the race against the ghost of baseballs most famous player and the fans he doesn't have; worse than that definitely is the race against his crippling lack of self confidence and his will to hold up under the pressure.
Of course, on top of all of that there's also homesickness, losing himself and the kid who fell in love with the game somewhere along the way, and an unexpected romance with the teams resident analyst.

I must disclose that Jimmy's plot IS mostly based on a real ballplayer named Roger Maris. I got a job recently in a museum that currently has a history of baseball exhibit and I read one plaque about this guys story went Jimmy and then learned every single thing that I could about him in the matter of one weekend, as any sane person would do. If anyone would like to know more about him and what happened in the summer of '61 please....please ask this is currently the only topic that I am capable of talking about and I love sharing knowledge. Or I can recommend movies to watch and articles to read <3
When the fic itself is posted there will be an entire work up on Roger Maris and his story and the situation vs what I did instead in the au in the notes, though!

Somehow he manages to not break his concentration of the machine he's fixing up, but he certainly got close. Ryou's holding back one of the panels for him while he works, which caused them to be in closer proximity than usual.
What an... odd thing to say. Puzzlement washes over his expression, but he uses the task at hand to stall for time to decide how to respond.
"Yeah, it's not exactly the best time," he agreed.
It wasn't something he gave much thought to, nor did he wear some everyday. He had no kind he liked enough to seek out. But on days of long important meetings he was told it was generally a good thing to do.
"It was a gift from someone. So I'd rather not waste it."
It had been from Isono. He'd never regift that.
"I can give you the brand name if you'd like."

Ok so Finn,,
my stupid little headcanons and backstory because I am a little baby with big dreams and too much imagination!
Warnings: Allusions to death of people you don’t know? No drug use but for sure they are mentioned, JR being a good person <3
Okay so in my brain, Finn is around the same age as Reagan.
They get adopted by JR before he loses his morals, I wasn’t entirely sure what situation would put JR in the space to have to disappear everyone but a child but whatever situation that is? It happens.
So the people who are put on clean-up duty find small Finn cowering in a corner of the house, and nobody can go near them without them screaming at the top of their lungs. Because strangers in big hazmat suits? Crowding and trying to take a small child? STRANGER DANGER.
So they bring JR in, and he is like already frustrated but he turns the corner and there’s this tiny small child kind of bruised and crying in the corner of their house. And his heart grew three sizes that day
And JR isn’t going to admit weakness or whatever, so he just acts like this is some big inconvenience I mean tbh I guess it is? But he isn’t going to tell them that it’s out of the good of his heart.
A couple threats later and boom spoiled child’s room inside of one of the mansions he owns. They are very clearly overwhelmed and JR doesn’t 100% know how to go about making them feel welcomed. But he is for sure trying his best.
The staff in his house? Serve the child get them whatever they want.
The kitchen? Stocked with whatever he was told children like.
And it goes on like this for a couple of days. Until the unexpected happens.
It’s the middle of the night and the door to JR’s room creaks open, and boom! There’s Finn. He is barely moving but he watches the small child drag one of the stuffed toys and themselves across the floor and then they just, they stare at JR. And then they climb onto the bed and curl in on themselves.
They don’t touch him, they don’t try and wake him up, he doesn’t know why they are in here, or why the staff didn’t stop them from coming into the room. But they didn’t and now there is a tiny human snuggling some stuffed bear next to him in his bed.
He waits until they fall asleep (It doesn’t take long) But he slowly pulls one of the blankets from the end of the bed over them and sits up against his headboard after.
He doesn’t know how he got to this point, he is being a father. He is being fatherly and it’s right as he is losing his morals. And he feels weird admitting that he cares about this random kid whose parents he had a hand in disappearing but,, he does? He supposes?
So they wake up in his room but he has already gone to work, he is a busy man after all. So they get led back to their room and the staff feeds them breakfast and unbeknownst to them the staff is told to watch them constantly to make sure they are okay. He won’t admit it’s because he cares, and the staff isn’t going to say anything but they don’t mind the extra company.
And slowly they all become more close.
JR isn’t as panicked when something happens, and he doesn’t immediately know how to solve it. Finn feels comfortable coming to him. And he has some of their little doodles hung somewhere in the house like a proud parent.
So they get older and he absolutely encourages them to work with him at Cognito.
They trust him and agree, but under the condition that nobody knows the two are related. He agrees, it feels like it would be a safety precaution! Make sure neither of them is used as pawns against each other. But for Finn it’s more about making sure the relationships they might be able to form with people their age are genuine and that people aren’t just treating them differently because JR is their dad. (Their safety is a mega bonus though-)
So Finn goes on with their days. They steal sugar from the workplace
(JR spends so much money trying to keep it stocked please they are losing so much money-)
SO Finn works security, but they also hate staying in one place. Hence constant wandering, watching cameras they genuinely don’t need to be watching just because they look more interesting.
And that would be where things start, they would meet everyone from this point on and nobody would know they were related and they would like and or hate them for genuine reasons. And they can handle that.
I also want to make it known that I think some people would definitely be suspicious and Finn would for sure say something that would be played for laughs and be a joke but it would TOTALLY ALMOST GIVE THEM AWAY.
I am no good at hiding things and my sona isn’t either-
But I do know that at the very least certain people will figure out or be told that the two are related way before it is a genuine reveal-

I mean technically they are all family in some way or another, and even though they find out much before whether from JR or Finn, The big reveal would absolutely be when JR gets disappeared or like during the chaos of the ending.
Now you have another reason to hate Rand Ridley! I mean not that you needed another reason but like- y’know?
NOW, HERE ARE SOME RANDOM HEADCANONS I DON’T KNOW WHERE TO PLACE BUT I THINK THEY ARE IMPORTANT AND CUTE AND I LOVE THEM
- Alright JR calls Finn sea-star as a nickname. He cares about them and I wanted to use it as a reference to an outfit that I genuinely wore all the time as a kid was this lil overall dress covered in marine life?
- JR WOULD ABSOLUTELY BUY OUT if not straight up buy AN AQUARIUM TO HAVE LITTLE CHILD FATHER DAYS AT. They get to feed SHARKS
- Okay this shouldn’t be important but it was a funny joke that I could not let go of? JR would for sure know of their sugar addiction and FOR SOME REASON I can see him trying to be nice and get them like cocaine or something and he would be like “It’s the best quality! I made sure of it!”
and they would be like “But can,, can I have some sugar instead?”
He gets a sweet deal from selling the coke and they get like double the amount of candy and sugar than they would have gotten in the first place so it’s a total win-win!
