"Father!" Kurthnaga lights up as soon as the older dragon finally approaches him. His father's shadow has been lingering over him all night, imposing shoes that he can't ever hope to fill. Standing next to him only makes Kurthnaga feel that much smaller.
But... if he must feel small beside his father, then perhaps he can channel some of the happier memories of his childhood.
He grabs his father's large hand, wrapping both of his smaller hands around it. He glances up, ruby eyes bubbling with excitement as the band starts to play an upbeat tune.
"Father; won't you dance with me? Please!"

"My king... I..." Nasir falters in his words, staring at Goldoa's former king clothed in regalia. He quickly averts his eyes towards the ground, staring absentmindly at a pair of unfamiliar boots. He doesn't dare to meet his lord's eyes, "... I... you look nice."
The younger dragon reaches out a tenative hand before quickly retracting it once again. He doesn't dare to touch him, slender fingers trembling at even the thought.
He does dare to pluck a stray thread away, presumptous enough that he does not even say anything.
"There. Now you're..." His breath catches in his throat, hands still trembling slightly as he reaches up to smooth out a wrinkle in the older dragon's shirt. (If his heart starts to beat a little faster as he touches his king's chest, then that is something that he will keep to himself until his dying day.)
"It's perfect, my lord. Suits you."

Here's how I've built Rafiel. I've been meaning to build him forever but I never use dancers and I never really knew what to do with him. Free Peony gave me a clear path finally so here he is with a focus on buffing and supporting.

Nils had just wrapped up a performance, a lively impromptu concert where he played his flute, danced and even sang a little. It was a lot of fun- various people even donated some gold to him! That’ll go into his snack funds, he knew the local butchery would be selling their old cuts for cheap soon…
Looking around for any more fun activities, his eyes settled on what appears to be an arts and crafts table of sorts. Various partygoers were seated, all meticulously stringing, cutting and weaving various festive ornaments. It looked like a fun activity, and many of the people seated there had easy smiles on their faces. At least, most of them. There was one man, a rather imposing figure with a stern expression, looking over the people.
He recognized the man during his performance too- whereas the audience all had varying happy expressions, some even dancing along, he never saw the man crack so much as a smile. Something like that shouldn’t bother him of course, but it did hurt his pride as an entertainer.
To that end he approached the table, curious about the man. “Good evening, sir..! I do hope you’re enjoying the festivities.” He said, his voice having a practiced easygoing tone to it. When he got closer though, he felt it. The aura of a dragon. A powerful one, at that. It was already too late to pull away though. He’d just have to hope that his own draconic energy was weak enough to escape the man’s notice. (And it was quite weak, being both a runt of a dragon and a half-blood would do that to you.)
“I couldn’t help but notice you looking on at the crafting table.. would you perhaps want to partake in the fun? I’m sure it would be an enjoyable time…!” He offered with a smile.

Wanna hear your thoughts on the Lehran Dheginsea falling out, mainly out of curiosity since I’ve never thought about that way
I actually have many many thoughts abt lehran and dheginsea!!
I do think for a long time Lehran and Dheginsea were best friends especially after Lehran went into hiding in goldoa. After losing everything and having to fake his own death and flee to goldoa Dheginsea was all Lehran really had left and he spent many decades under Dheginsea's care. Lehran was also likely there when Dheginsea's wife died and when Dheginsea had children. They spent centuries together in Goldoa which is probably the longest time Lehran has spent in the company of another ever considering his other friends companions and loved ones are relatively short-lived in comparison.
Lehran would have also witnessed goldoa playing bystander to all the atrocities the rest of tellius was committing against one another and eventually he got tired of watching everything unfold from the sidelines and wanted goldoa to actually do something to end the conflict. I think at some point lehran thought that dheginsea was kind of missing the point of world peace and he was letting begnion get away with atrocities in the name of avoiding conflict at the cost of laguz lives. It's because of all of this that that Lehran leaving when he got fed up with Dheginsea not doing anything to help his fellow laguz is extra dramatic and had lasting impacts.
During that cutscene where lehran leaves goldoa dheginsea throwing that "you, who have lost your birthright? all you will achieve is your own destruction" back in lehran's face after everything they went through together is just. ouch?? what the fuck dude???
But what absolutely fucks me up the most and what I believe solidified the end of a friendship between lehran and dheginsea is when Goldoa did absolutely nothing after the serenes massacre. Lehran finally found a way to liberate the laguz in begnion from slavery with Misahas emancipation act (like he said he would) and a year later he loses his family and the entire heron tribe and his original home to a massacre and Dheginsea did Nothing to help or support his best friend of however many centuries now. Whatever amount of loneliness and isolation lehran was already feeling must have tripled when he realised Dheginsea would not even move after all that. I do think from that point onward Lehran held some resentment for Dheginsea but there is absolutely no confirmation of that its just a headcannon of mine. its more dramatic.
I wish there was some way for Lehran and Dheginsea to interact during one of the games to get insight into how they feel about each other during the events of PoR and RD. I think Dheginsea would be very shocked and upset to find out the reason why the goddess woke up was because Lehran has orchestrated the war and wanted to break the covenant on purpose despite all of dheginseas efforts. I think Dheginseas refusal to help his fellow laguz was part of the reason why lehran wanted to end the world too.
TLDR: I think their yaoi falling out was very messy because they're both centuries old besties and dramatic bitches.

How Old Is Soren Fire Emblem?
It’s an honest question, and not just for Fire Emblem veterans. Even the most superficial soldiers running around with their heads shoved up their own asses have wondered, ‘What is that small child doing on a battlefield with a Wind tome?’ Or worse,

Soren’s battle prowess is not to be questioned, nor underestimated. Uncertainty arrives when trying to discern how old the Greil Mercenaries’ strategist and chief staff officer is.
Based on information from in-game conversations, from the canon timeline, and from the Tellius Recollection volumes, I have an answer. Read on under the cut. Or skip to the end, I don’t mind, I even put the important stuff in bold for you.

Googling ‘soren fire emblem age’ yields a suspiciously simple result. According to the Tellius Recollection volumes, Soren is physically sixteen in both games. Immediately, it is clear there is more to Soren’s age than that answer. Since Soren is half-laguz and half-beorc, he ages differently from his beorc companions. In his Path of Radiance (PoR) A Support with Stefan, he admits, ‘I thought I was aging normally… Well, until about three years ago.’ There is some ambiguity here, as Soren only noticed he was aging differently ‘about three years’ from the time of this conversation during the latter part of PoR, but if nothing else, we know Soren must be older than sixteen. We may assume this line means Soren stopped aging three years before this point, and was sixteen at the time. If this is true, Soren would be about nineteen in PoR. But what if Soren is older?
What is the oldest Soren could be? To figure this out, I looked to Almedha and Ashnard. When Almedha met Ashnard, he was power hungry and if he wasn’t already, soon set on war with Goldoa. In Radiant Dawn (RD), Nasir informs Almedha that ‘the red dragon platoon which went in search of [her] was captured and turned into Feral Ones by King Ashnard’. Unaware of this at the time, Almedha continued to live with Ashnard until Rajaion’s capture ‘more than twenty years’ ago, at which point they ‘had a falling out and ended up living separately‘ according to Almedha’s conversation with Elincia. Though a ‘falling out’ is a weird way to describe the aftermath of her brother being drugged into insanity by her husband, we now know that Soren is more than twenty years old when RD takes place in year 648, though not too much older, or Almedha would have perhaps picked a different number to say than twenty.
Returning to Almedha’s conversation with Nasir, Kurthnaga, and Ena reveals that Ashnard’s cruelty toward the dragon laguz had intention. Nasir says Ashnard ‘did everything in his power to provoke King Dheginsea’. Indeed, near the end of the Mad King’s War, ‘the king thought he'd lost not only dragon soldiers but also his children’, not knowing Almedha and Soren were still alive, and was ready to join the war. Why was it that ‘Ashnard needed Goldoa to get involved in this war’? Goldoa was completely isolated from everything outside its borders until Almedha left, so Ashnard had no personal reason for provoking them. Nasir tells us that if the Goldoans had joined the war, they ‘would not have stopped until the continent was ashes. Then the spirit of chaos would have spread across Tellius, awakening the goddess’. Why would Ashnard want to destroy the continent and all humanity, when what he clearly wanted in PoR was to be the most powerful man alive? Awakening the goddess to pass judgement was Sephiran’s motivation. Thus, when Almedha met Ashnard, he was either already plotting with Sephiran or would conspire him in the short time between Almedha’s departure from Castle Goldoa and the arrival of the red dragon platoon sent to look for her in Daein. Based on this information, we know Soren could not have been born before the Serenes Massacre of 625, after which Sephiran decides humanity needs to be judged. So the oldest Soren could be during PoR is twenty years old.
So now that we have an upper limit, what is the youngest Soren could be? Another member of Goldoa’s royal family holds the answer to this question. Rajaion left Goldoa to rescue Almedha and Soren ‘some nineteen years ago’ according to Ena near the end of PoR. At this time, Soren was already born and determined to be worthless by Ashnard. We also know Ashnard was already king when Rajaion was captured, meaning this happened after 627. If Soren was born in 627 he would be eighteen at the start of PoR, and perhaps would turn nineteen before the end of the game in the spring of 646, meaning Ena’s line about ‘some nineteen years’ would still be accurate. This means eighteen is the youngest Soren could be while still keeping with the continuity of the game.
It is important to note that Ena’s line corroborates the earlier conclusion drawn from Soren’s support with Stefan that Soren is nineteen in PoR. Furthermore, if Soren were nineteen in PoR, he would have been born within the calendar year limits determined by the events surrounding Rajaion’s capture (625-627). Nineteen is also the average of the oldest and youngest he could possibly be (18-20). Thus, I conclude that
in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Soren is nineteen years old
and factoring in the three year timeskip between the games and Almedha’s line about her and Ashnard’s separation,
in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, Soren is twenty-two years old
which makes a lot of sense. If I were twenty-two but looked like a sixteen-year-old boy, I would also get zero sleep, have the self-confidence of a duct-taped teacup, and cry at inopportune moments. Pre-T trans men, you are our strongest soldiers.
You have reached the end of my investigation into Soren’s age! As a bonus, Ike is seventeen in PoR, so the age difference between the two of them is two years.

I'm still at the start of PoR but PLEASE give me your trans tellius characters propaganda 💙💖🤍💖💙 (THERE'S NO PINK EMOJIS BEAR WITH ME)
I'm so sorry I don't have many trans headcanons besides Tibarn, I'm a confused cis girl who doesn't understand gender and I don't tend to think about characters' agab (even for my own OCs) 😭
Like I said, there's some vague support for Dheginsea (the dragon king) and Nailah (you'll meet her in Radiant Dawn), but they don't get a ton of character development. Some others I've seen people hc as trans are Ranulf (friendly catboy who helps out the Greil Mercenaries) and Sothe (Micaiah's second-in-command in RD). There are also some divine beings that show up in RD who are probably not trans but also probably don't have a binary understanding of gender.
Of course, if any of my followers have trans headcanons please share them 💙🌸🤍🌸💙!!!!

FINALLY! (FEH calendar for Oct/2021)

Sure took 'em long enough.
Anyway, here are my thoughts and plans I have in case you're curious, I also point out some things and throw in a few guesses.
Banners
Those are the things I often look forward to the most, deciding where and when I want to pull. So...
For starters {Rein} skills are now getting a banner, this is likely going to be a great banner as it'll have three people each with juicy fodder, the skills in this family have helped several fliers to stand on their own ground and even serving as support with smart play-and-position.
But... [Iceberg] and... [Ignis] themed banners too? I've glanced through the list of regular pool units and it doesn't look like there's going to be much actually good fodder or units with recent benefits for the latter, but the former looks somewhat better to probably pull on with potential candidates such as Say'ri, Fallen Male Morgan and some others; with that said though, Brave Hector is indisputably the best candidate the [Ignis] banner can get and would perhaps make it kind of interesting to pull on.
The next of the {Double Special Heroes} is coming up in two days and I keep forgetting those exist... they're more of a "clickbait" to get you into summoning with allegedly superior rates, but without having multiple targets in mind for such banners, it's best to let them pass by and pull for the seasonal you want once they rerun, I can't count how many times I've read people having tough luck in these and I've even experienced it myself when Soiree Nephenee got her rerun in one of those. Each time I pull beyond the free summon in those, I'm reminded why those banners are more a nightmare than worth the trouble so I just free pull on the most interesting color then save.
Speaking of it though, I've checked the last two ones (here and here) and my prediction is that we'll be getting these units:

New Year Kaden
Valentine's Henriette
Blue:
Spring Minerva
Young Tana (more likely than Young Lyon who's the semi-demote of his debut banner)
Green:
Valentine's Gustav
Spring Inigo
Colorless:
Harmonized Myrrh+Nah

I've been doing some researching in Gamepedia, looking for the next seasonals to make it onto those banners and haven't rerun in those, I think I'll nail it but I mean let's wait until the 13th to find out. 👀
And with that aside, all that's left to look forward to is the rerun with Marianne & Co. along with the associated [Forging Bonds], the Legendary Hero and the New/Special Heroes... oh and the Halloween seasonals from past years coming back! I've been actually looking forward to those, here's a quick masterlist for each banner:
[Trick or Defeat!]: the 2017 one, comes back the 11/2nd and offers Nowi (red), Henry (green) and Jakob with Sakura (both sharing colorless).
[The Land's Bounty]: the 2018 one, comes back the 10/28th and offers Myrrh (red), Niles (blue), Kagero (green) and Mia (colorless).
[A Monstrous Harvest]: the 2019 one, comes back the 10/26th and offers Duo Hector+Lilina (red, and our first Duo Hero! It's been two years already), Ilyana (blue), L'Arachel (green) and Dozla (colorless). For some reason it's... again... called [Treat Fiends], it seems it was like that last year and if there's any reason to change it, I don't think there's any need to begin it... dumb move here, this should be named [A Monstrous Harvest] as it always was, that new name is misleading as there's much less info you can find if you try looking it up.
[Dragons Harvest]: the 2020 one, comes back the 10/20th one and offers: Dheginsea (red), Harmonic Young Tiki with Ninian (blue), Fallen Female Robin (green) and Xane (colorless, the semi-demote).
And... the one I look forward to comes right on the same day the Legendary Hero will be revealed (4 hours before said seasonal banner is up), and it's quite convenient since I can decide whether to pull or not. I might pull anyway but at the present, not feeling much like it as before because of the free merge on Halloween Kagero I'm aiming to get, and I could rack up some more [Orbs] for other banners, I'd be happy to get Halloween Ilyana and Harmonic Young Tiki with Ninian, they're so precious but they're both in different banners and currently I don't feel like I need anyone else, so I might sit outta all of them.
The events and whatever else
...I never look forward to [Grand Conquests], it's a chore to complete and not as rewarding as most other events, but it helps newer players the most with [Hero Feathers] and a few [Orbs] I guess.
Caellach and Veld will also rerun this month, and gosh it's been nine long months waiting for Veld, eh? Might build the guy someday because I really appreciate the Jugdral sub-series and its top-notch cast Imo, but I've been busy with other projects so I haven't had anything to spare him, however, I've kept all the free copies I've gotten... Caellach's gonna be fodder, that's for sure.
[Hall of Forms] is also coming up some time after the New Heroes, but in the datamine we'll know our next Forma, which should be from Radiant Dawn, I'm quite curious for who will be there, even though I'm unable to purchase Forma.
[Lost Lore] a.k.a semi-AFK newbie resource farm is also going to make its way again early November.
And Annette is getting a [Bound Hero Battle] with Mercedes (this means those two are getting a banner too, along with a third unit yet to be known) later this month... no idea who could be the third unit on the associated banner since I never finished Three Houses, but I'll just throw in Dimitri as a wild guess, that's it.
Other than that, just the usual stuff and all that, not really much of interest... [Limited Hero Battles] will appear again in less than three hours but I haven't found any info about them... datamined or not, guess we'll wait and see.

I should hand it over to Kurthnaga and Lady Almedha, he tells himself on repeat. And yet he clings selfishly to a remaining fragment of his lord and his legacy. It is trival it would seem to anyone else, just a worn out old cloak belonging to an old dragon.
It is not so trival to Nasir. When the body of the man he had pledged his life, his very flesh and blood, to lies cold and pallid before him - taken from the Goddess' Tower at Kurthnaga's command, because he would not allow dishonour in his father's death. Is Nasir not allowed the indignity of mourning for a man who had taken up so much of his life for hundreds of years?
Nasir does not cry then, at the base of the tower. He does not cry as Gareth places a hand on his shoulder, understanding his pain in a way no one else could. No sorrow slips from him as he meets Gareth's eyes, gripping his fellow retainer tightly. Neither of them say a word, for there are no words that need to be spoken between them.
Nasir does not shed a tear on the return to Goldoa, standing firm against the wind. Ena asks if he's alright, but he only brushes aside her worries. She doesn't need undue stress right now, not anymore than she has already endured. He will be fine. He's always fine isn't he.
But once they are back safely in Goldoa, funeral rites completed and the dead put to rest for good, only then does Nasir finally allow himself to break. Not a soul is around, and he allows himself to sob out all of the tears that he had been holding back. He clings to that fragment with all of his being, breathing in the last remaining remnants of his lord's scent between his gasps for air. When was the last time he had cried so? Allowed himself to shatter into a million little pieces that could not be put back together?
Dheginsea. It didn't feel real that his presence was no longer felt beside Nasir.
But...
Ah... he was really gone... wasn't he?

I have had this question for a few hours and I think you are perfect to answer it.
We know that Edelgard (and Hubert) are racist towards nabateans, so that also would include manaketes (sorry, Tiki, Nowi and Corrin). But will she also be racist towards other inhuman races? Like kitsunes, taguels and wolfskin?
zorua-adorable: I have to wonder. If Edelgard is against the Nabateans because they’re ‘beasts’ (dragons), how would she feel about manaketes/taguels/kitsunes/wolfskins/laguz. Would people Edelstans immediately start to hate/shit on Nowi or Panne or Kaden or Tiki or Ranulf (etc) just because Edelgard said they were monsters? For doing what, existing? Being dragon/animal people? What crime was committed (aside from Edelgard’s racism, obviously)? Would they accuse fans of those characters of thinking with their ovaries/dicks and/or being furries/scalies and/or being supporters of beastiality?
Some people are legit wild, being so obsessed with a character that ‘they can do no wrong and everything they say is indisputable fact’

My personal guess? She would have a bias against any creature with human level sentience, intelligence, etc. that can look human without actually being strictly human. It’s not just simply Rhea’s and Seteth’s power or their longevity or their relation to religion that’s the issue here - if that were the case, then those would logically be the only gripe she says she has with the Children of the Goddess. And also, if it were strictly the power they are currently holding, then she wouldn’t include Flayn in the mix of Nabateans that need to die, since she holds none. Because it’s not her only gripe. She specifically says, as something negative, that they are, to quote (near) verbatim, “creature[s] that can merely masquerade as a human at will.”
She doesn’t seem to like beings that can “disguise” themselves as human, period. Tiki, Nowi, Nah, as well as dragon laguz like Kurthnaga (and especially Dheginsea, who serves a godly figure), would 100% be on her shit list, since they are extremely long-living beings that can “feign” being human that already resemble Nabateans fairly well, so I have 0 doubt she’d also consider them lesser. With Tellius laguz specifically, it’d likely reach all laguz, since they also live far longer than humans (though none as long as dragon laguz, if I recall correctly).
With that in mind, taguel, wolfskin, and kitsunes likely wouldn’t avoid the disdain either, though depending on whether they live longer than humans or not they may not have as bad (can’t remember if they mention anything like living longer than humans) - the combination of “far longer lifespan than humans + looking human + related to religion” seems to be the biggest things that sets Edelgard off, so while they may not be seen as explicitly an enemy I believe they’d get a wide area of avoidance from her regardless, since part of her issue is that they aren’t human period.
Think of it like this: someone who’s particularly racist against black people wouldn’t necessarily be okay with a Middle Eastern person just because they’re not specifically a black person, know what I mean? Just because Edelgard might be a little more “okay” with some of the races doesn’t mean that she wouldn’t still be viewing them in a demeaning light as she does with the Nabateans as a whole race. And with her being the kind of person that’s happy at the thought of killing off an entire race of (what she believed to be) three people, there’s a lot of hatred to go around for her. It’d be hard for me to believe that she would view any shade-changer in a good light, since she views that aspect of Nabateans as something she feels prudent to specifically point out as something bad about them.

Male Living Space - lambert & dheginsea
Starter for @old-scalebag
Their first session of a stare marathon had just ended, with Lambert not wanting to admit defeat and settling with a draw instead. Arms crossed against his armored chest as he stared at the furniture sitting before him and his new companion, with every now and then a hook would pull the corner of his lips upwards in a stifled laugh only for a deep breath to push it down.
Breathe in, then out.
“Forgive me.” He’d admit defeat this time, at least- as his shoulders shook with a snicker, his face turned to the side as he tried in vain to conceal his attempts to not laugh too hard. Pale cheeks quickly flushed a happy red and the moment he opened his mouth to allow in air…a slightly louder laugh came out and Lambert had to support himself on the wall for a brief moment. “Sorry. It is just…” The professor made loose gestures at the furniture, still trying to win this battle but failing by the minute.
The context for the situation was quick and simple. The dormitory wing of the academy was struck by a pest, some kind of bedbug as Lambert had heard from some knights. As a result many rooms had to be kept off limits so the plague could be dealt with, leading to many students and faculty left without a bed to sleep in and needing to share living quarters with others temporarily. Lambert did not mind sharing his space with others by any means, the Abyss’ dormitories were already set to house multiple people at once by default thanks to their double bunkers. He figured it was only a matter of time until he’d end up with a roommate and the idea didn’t sound bad at all.
He just never expected his roommate to be professor Dheginsea, from the academy’s official faculty.
“One would think the Abyss would be more likely to go through a pest problem than the Monastery, but alas…” As the young ones say, it is what it is. “It is unlike the surface indeed and some may call it claustrophobic…but the Abyss is not too bad of a place to live in. I have grown used to its intricacies at least. I shall show you the ways in here.” Lambert had no issues with Dheginsea- that man had defended him from an attack once and he seemed like an overall extremely calm and reasonable individual. If anything Lambert felt he had a debt to pay to his fellow professor, so it would be done by offering him a place in his living quarters and giving him a good experience in the Abyss. It was unexpected however that his action of wanting to offer shelter to a coworker would be barred by one…tricky problem.
Dheginsea was a very tall man.
Very, very tall.
In fact he was most likely the only person Lambert has ever met that required him to actually lift his chin and look all the way up to meet the other’s eyes if they were standing too close to one another, and Lambert was no small fish.
Dheginsea did not fit into any of the beds.
“No no, there has to be…one, at least one that works. Enough laughing, let us make this work…” Except how? Unless they literally pulled the bed frame apart and built a new one, there was no other way. “Dheginsea- try the bottom bunk, while I try the top one. It is easier to make adjustments that way.” The top bunk was uncomfortably close to the ceiling and the fact that Lambert did bonk his head on his way up there, turned his face and stared at Dheginsea from above…well. It was a situation.
“It will work. I will make it happen before nightfall.” He couldn’t even get into his own bed let alone find a way to extend the bunk. It was going to be a long afternoon.

A loud and bold individual with a strong sense of justice. A boy with no restraint despite his parents and circumstances.
Appearance and Personality
Alastair is oh-so loud. He’s so so loud it’s a problem sometimes, even. It’s a trained skill for him to keep his mouth shut for longer than ten seconds around other people—at least he’s able to filter what he says? Sort of? He’s got a good heart, at least.
Not that one could tell at first glance. He takes after Dheginsea’s monstrous height, reaching a bit taller than the short dad (I say, knowing Valter is much taller than I, the mun)—Valter has a problem with this. He does not say so. Stacked on top of that height, he likes to pack on muscles—Alastair may not be an actual laguz, but he likes the idea of using his bare fists to fight all the same. Heroic!
The child was spared the baldness genes though it seems—though, perhaps just for now? Changes what he does with his hair daily since he can’t make up his mind. At the very minimum, during fights, he knows how to keep it out of his face.
His brand on his left shoulder, which oddly enough stays covered most of the time! Though some folks suspect he might be branded (tbh, he looks a lot like the royal dragons [shrug]), his presence is usually intimidating enough that no one tries anything—or, you know, if they find out he’s kind, that only makes them all the more afraid! Loud little (big) gremlin.
Definitely the type of guy to wrestle wyverns for fun. Would also probably suplex Valter if that dad would stay in place long enough to get slammed.
History
The type of kid to get into a lot of fights when he was young! Very headstrong type of person who didn’t understand the complexities of courts and castles and whatnot: good is good and bad is bad, right? Just act accordingly!
This went well hand-in-hand with his parents being generally protective of him—branded and whatnot. Aside from just wanting to be strong to do good, he wanted to ease the load off of them a bit; make it so he’s able to hold his own. He also ends up being pretty protective of those who are important to him: he’s super blunt about it though. I don’t know what else to tell you.
Combat
Fist-fighter all the way! It might not be the smartest decision, but he’s all for throwing himself head-first into battle and punching his way through! His parents don’t know how he wound up like this.
Aside from straight-up brawling though, he’s also an axe type of guy—Valter tried once to make him a lance user, but Alastair… was not very interested in doing anything more than swinging around a weapon with no rhyme or reason. Fights pretty darn good though—with an axe. And his fists.
Good for him, though! He did not inherit the ‘I like hurting people’ gene! I think it might’ve canceled out with the ‘I want to protect people’ part and then there were some leftovers. Still gets enthralled by battle, but Al’s more interested in the adrenaline rush than actually inflicting pain on his opponents. So long as he wins, that’s all that matters!
Summary
He’s an oddly intuitive individual—trusts his gut and doesn’t tend to be wrong! Alastair likes to do what he can to help people, though he generally prefers manual labor and knocking about some louts to the sort of tasks that require thinking. Gets along well with folks who aren’t out to get him—who would’ve guessed?—but he’s also stubborn in his judgments of people. Once he forms an opinion of you, it’s hard to change—good or bad.
The map where you recruit him would have him engaging with a group of bandits all by himself—secondary to the main objective of the map. Whether you help him out or not doesn’t change much and he’s actually able to manage himself well! Makes good use of his terrain and knows how to avoid biting off more than he can chew. Actually recruiting him is very easy though: have any allied unit talk to him and the conversation will end up with him having a positive opinion of them. Or it’s negative and he joins you to keep an eye on that person. There’s no in between.
Unique dialogue against both parents, of course, though only Valter would counter (Valter is a menace; I asked Wild about Dheginsea). Would feel bad about attacking them, especially since he finds it hard to believe they’re bad people—part of that unwavering opinion thing combined with the fact that they are his family—but what must be done must be done, and he’d rather put in the hard work and effort than leave it to somebody else. Call it one final spar, hm?
Also as a bonus! The chibi where I designed him + a domesticated Valter for height reference (Valter is 6'0 flat).
