And there is LOVE there is family murder, and someday I will go into a post about how aspects of Minthara's character has her represent different facets of this story because she is- by all means HAMLET, but she is also Ophelia, she is also Daisy Ridley's Ophelia.

I can also tell you EXACTLY what she is contemplating when she is 'contemplating a skull' because that particular soliloquy is LITERALLY a speech about death, and the musing of what follows it, questioning whether you deeds are worth it, the SUFFERING is worth all of this trouble if you're just going to fucking die. LIKE!!!!!!! IM FUCKING FERAL ABOUT IT! YOU GUYS HAVE NO IDEA!!!!!!!!

i want to eventually move over all my blusky rambling to here, because reading through even your own older posts on bluesky is still DOGSHIT. I was scouring through the devnotes for Raphael, Hope and Korrilla (still haven't gotten to the end of HoH so also desperately avoiding cutscenes I have yet to reach lmao playing with fire, oh well)

AND THIS ONE! THIS ONE STOOD OUT TO ME!

Korrilla: Poor, deluded Hope. She's stubborn. Raphael loves stubborn. If she'd just agree to serve him, he'd probably have released her a long time ago. Korrilla: As things stand, she's his favourite toy. We're all mad here, but Hope in hell? Why that's the definition of insanity. Devnote: NodeContext: Complicated feelings. Both jealous of Raphael's attention and sad because she knows her sister doesn't want it.

I don't think the emotions expressed in the devnote come across in the line as voice-acted in the game, but the fact it was the writer's intention is so startling, and really explains a lot of the dynamic between these two... Hope absolutely loathes Raphael. She has resisted giving into him for an untold number of years, refused him at every juncture despite the tortures it earns her. he's obsessed with her because she's something he can't claim ownership of, no matter what he does, and it infuriates him. And then there's Korrilla. Her own sister has basically abandoned her, sided with her abuser, become deathly loyal to him, JOINED in torturing her ("Sister, my sister, oh what have you done? Sold me for soul scraps, torment me for fun!" as Hope says.) Basically wholly given herself over to Raphael as an extension of his will, as a tool and a weapon for him to make use of. Even seems to have moments of casual camaraderie with him (the silly betting over what their clients will manage do...) The depths of abandonment and resentment Hope must feel!

And yet apparently Korrilla's jealous that Raphael is still so fixated on the sister of hers who refuses him at every turn, when she's practically his star employee, the person he relies on most. Everything she does for him and he still wants a woman he cannot break down into wanting him. Jealous yet still sad about what her sister is going through, still having this shred of empathy, even while thinking Hope is bringing it on herself, because wouldn't it be so easy to say "yes"? Wouldn't it be so easy to give in?

idk these three drive me crazier the more I think about them

And it's not like Korrilla wasn't subject to Raphael's violence, if we go off this note, but apparently she took to the Hells and the expectations of its hierarchies and means of survival very quickly and very well. But that still means violence, fear and intimidation were used to secure her cooperation and loyalty in the beginning, right? Did she watch what was happening to her sister, so much firmer in her morals, and decide "I will avoid this by any means necessary"? "If I just show Hope how good she can have it by agreeing to Raphael's authority, she'll come to her senses"? Me spinning headcanons in my mind lmao

Also personally I don't interpret this jealousy as a romantic thing on Korrilla's part, but who knows what the writer's intention was. Literally the only mention of these feelings of Korrilla's, as far as I know, is this devnote. I will keep an eye out as I continue to play and adjust my interpretations accordingly lmao

leaving for college: imagine getting mad at an 18 year old for leaving to go to stanford on a full ride scholarship. he did that in a “household” where he never lived in the same place for more than 6 months. ever. and his only family members thought it was emasculating to do well in school.

“choosing ruby over dean”: hey. hey. look at me. imagine the person you love most in the world. that you have a toxic codependent relationship with to the point of literally getting murderous if you are separated by more than a room without your choice. you’ve known each other for forever. you’ve killed for him. he’s your brother. you have spent a full year trying to figure out how to save his life. now imagine watching him die knowing he did it to save you. and you can’t get him back. now you are actively suicidal and someone comes along and acts almost just like him and offers you this thing that gives you the power to kill the things that killed him. this person says that you have the power to stop a horrible thing from happening. you believe her. and then your brother comes back from the dead and he’s. different. he doesn’t trust you anymore. and the person who gave you power tells you that it’s because he’s being lied to and manipulated to start the tragedy you are bent on preventing. so you’re hurt and scared and trying to save the world so, just this once, you choose to work with someone other than him.

the shit that happened in s8: again. same scenario as above but now you’ve both killed and died for each other multiple times. you’ve endured over centuries of torture by the devil himself and have just started recovering from the hallucinations that you had of the literal devil torturing you and telling you that you can never feel happy bc this is just another way of torturing you. making you feel happy for a moment only to bring you back and hurt you. then your brother disappears into a pile of black goo in front of you. you have no idea how or why. you do months of research and come up with exactly nothing. life without him isn’t worth living. you’re about to drive your car off a bridge. the car you grew up with him in, the one you both engraved your initials into when you were 8 and 10. with the legos shoved into the vents that you’ve never been able to take out. you’re not paying attention so you hit a dog. shit. he doesn’t deserve to die. not like you. you take him to the vet. his medical bills need to be covered by someone. it can only be you. the vet there treats you like you deserve to live, to be loved. you fall for her. you move in together and adopt the dog you hit. maybe,,,, just maybe,,, you can be happy.

and then your brother comes back. and he’s best friends with a vampire… the vampire’s name sounds like yours.

and your brother is mad at you. then your girlfriend discovers the husband she thought was dead is alive. your brother wanted you to break up with her anyways. you’d do anything for him. always. he doesn’t forgive you. it’s what you deserve.

you take on the trials of hell to try and do something right. it’s actively killing you. every day you wake up and cough lungfuls of blood into the sink. it’s fine. these trials will probably kill you, but it’ll be ok. you’re finally doing something right. the final trial requires you to confess your greatest sins in a church. you spend hours there, and the biggest sin you confess is disobeying your brother. you confess the times you’ve let him down. you’re clean now. you’re ready to die, ready to stop any demon from ever coming to earth again. and your brother calls you an idiot and stops you because he doesn’t want to watch you die. but by now, your body is going to die with or without completing the trials. your brother coerces you into being possessed without your knowledge for a year in order to keep you alive. the thing possessing you kills your friend. your brother blames you for it. it’s fine. he cares. you know he does. he wouldn’t have done it if he didn’t care.

i think they’re mad at him bc he’s not a perfect brother who gives into dean’s codependent tendencies 100% of the time. dean has a codependent personality, and sam has a rebellious streak of independence a mile wide. his rebellion just looked like choosing school over hunting, or studying over weapon training, or reading over sparring. not that he didn’t also do those things, he just also did other things.

I'm converting everyone in my life to tsh fans and without fail everyone always tells me that how funny it is that richard tells on himself so badly by writing francis by far the most like an actual person, in contrast especially to how. not like a person camilla is written.

I guess I was just wondering what you find most endearing about the richard-francis dynamic/what aspect you like to write the most, because for me it's got to be the way richard's own narration betrays how close they are just in the details he manages to capture

but like yeah you & i share the same instinct when it comes to those two anon you’re sooo real. bc it really drives me crazy like… richard’s Whole Thing is that he is soo fucked up and he wants to desperately to be part of something Beautiful and Real and Not what he has come from, and so he lies to us and to himself and edits his memories and his interactions and puts a group of pretentious rich kids on a pedestal bc they have the aesthetic of something he wants. and there is some truth to it and to him and to the relationships they build, but as the story progresses it becomes harder and harder for him to hold on to the grand visions he had of them and his life with them bc in fact all of them are just kind of bad people in pretty banal ways. and so by the end he is disillusioned and alone and washes back up to californiaaa baby and all of his once friends are fallen idols and he never really knew them at all.

EXCEPT that’s not true! both bc there were some moments of Realness, but mostly because throughout the whole act two, the one person who is With us-as-richard as everything falls apart is francis! he’s there! he is annoying and everpresent and inspiring richard to have nightmare visions of them as old men still bitching at each other, but he’s There as an actual person! henry’s an absentee god and charles is a study in cruel self-destruction and camilla is a mystery of absence, but francis is an actual right there flesh and blood person! they have serious conversations abt the people they’re in love with! they drive each other up a wall! richard takes francis to get diagnosed w panic disorders! he absolutely Knows francis, and for all that he is constantly complaining abt him, they’re also just. friends. that doesn’t mean theyre Nice About It, but it’s like.. richard you did make an actual friend. somehow in the midst of this whole mess you two stumbled into friendship. it’s just crazy to me bc they’re both so judgmental and shallow in some ways but they know each other at their very worst and that doesn’t stop them being friends. and that’s not enough to keep them #besties after the end of the year (fair enough with two dead friends and three murder/suicides within the space of a year), but YEARS later when francis tries to kill himself he sends richard a goodbye letter! and richard drops everything to rush to him in a panic and when they see each other in the hospital they’re so happy abt it! bc they somehow fucked up and managed to care abt each other despite knowing what assholes they are!

it’s just too good / awful. also the whole ending is so perfect in that regard. squad reunion around the bestie’s suicide bed before his sham homophobia marriage! richard Immediately proposes to camilla bc he’s crazy!! she somehow does not tell him straight up that he’s insane bc they have almost no interaction throughout the whole book and also timing! richard literally tells her they should get married bc they both love(d) henry! etc

anyways i went off topic bc the above isn’t even a proper answer to your question. what i find most endearing is like, francis putting blankets over richard while he sleeps and richard remembering sooooo many of francis’ quips verbatim years later. and what i like writing the most is like… hm. yeah maybe richard self-reporting, and Also i really enjoy writing francis’ feelings from richard pov. maybe a hot take but i do not think theyre at all In Love in the book, so getting to decide what that would look like is really fun. but maybe that’s for another ask…

WHY. IS TRAUMA NOT A FUCKING THING IN THIS STUPID ASS SHOW. Im on another rewatch because im FUCKING INSANE but it drives me actually mad that there are so many downright horrific things that happen to these characters that are just NEVER addressed. lets talkabout the fucking first one that caught my eye when I was first watching the show!!! Im basically going from least infuriating to most infuriating, im trying to cut this show some slack but dear god. !!WHY IS COLE OKAY MAN. HE LITERALLY DIEEED. HE TURNED INTO A GHOST. listen Iknow ninjago death means nothing, and im going to talk about that too but he literally could have ceased to exist if he so much as touched water. after he got his body back, why was this never FUCKING mentioned. I think. if I was in a perpetual state of being horrified my existence would amount to nothing and id just stop BEING when I touched some clear shit coming out of my sink id be pretty scarred for life. I loved possession man, but this happened to TWO CHARACTERS. TWOOO. AND THE OTHER CHARACTER IS LLOYD. lets not even MENTION that hes been exploited the moment everyone found out he was a green ninja, and before that a bunch of grown ass people were bullying a CHILD WHO IS ACTUALLY HOMELESS, lets talk about how his fucking body was taken over by Morro while he ALSO worries about his DAD BEING STUCK IN THE FUCKING UNDERWORLD. The show made no attempt for them to bond or try to make amends for what happened when Lloyd was a kid, she barely appears at all really and it just makes me fucking despise her. ALSO MORRO. this kid. reminding you, CHILD, fucking died in a cave. the cave we SAW in the pilot, if i remember right which is FUCKING INSANE>,,?? we SEE HIS SKELETON. They actually did cover this a bit with how Lloyd acted around garmadon, but crystalized also sucked ass and really gave us nothing on how Garmadon felt about this. on god im so sick that hes so normal shaped in crystalized too, He was literally growling with every breath in sons of garmadon why is he normal now. Its been years, i get it. also the Garmadon comic. but he SHOULDNT be a normal person whos just an asshole, I want him to be feral okay?? ok??? ALSO Vinnys apartment is very inaccurate there should be scratch marks on the walls and then they should kiss. ANYWAYS Besides this, Lloyd being mad at Garmadon was really all we got for how *he* was effected by his once loving father now randomly coming back with his ribs exposed and only being able to say like. 3 words. and also him immediately trying to kill Lloyd. I feel like we should have gotten a LOT more man. Now this isn't really a problem with the show (Its a huge problem in crystalized but that's a given) but more a problem with the fandom, so that's why I'm putting it at the end. this does not hold relevancy over garmadon becoming a BEAST. (also garmadon becoming a beast is the best thing that ever happened in this show btw. you all are wrong and he should have been animalistic from the beginning. still nice. but he should have also growled. all the time.) My issue is with how people portray harumi. I already had my Harumi spout in a post I made earlier, but I only mentioned the toxicity of the ship with her and Lloyd a little bit. Let us THINK BACK on how she literally feels nothing for Lloyd at all. He was a stepping stone in getting Garmadon back, and she probably straight up hates him. She pretends to like him to manipulate him into helping her resurrect garmadon ok?? do we understand?? Ive seen actual tags on AO3 that say "no harumi hate here" and I am so done. all the harumi hate. dont FUCKING talk to me if you want to justify the downright horrendous things shes done. That ship is toxic as hell and Lloyd is downright being abused AGAIN for like the FIVE BILLIONTH TIME IN HIS LIFE. I dont care man. shes an abusive bitch. i HATE HER. Crystalized made the worst fucking decision trying to justify her and I genuinely hate whoever thought that was a good and right decision to make. If she comes back in dragons rising i hope she dies AGAIN, but Im honestly rooting for them to ignore crystalized's existence. Now finally, this is the absolute peak of how Ninjago shittily handles trauma. the ICE EMPEROR. Zane was stuck in a fucking hellscape of a realm for like. what was it. EIGHTY YEARS??? he went fucking mad man, he turned into a bloodthirsty tyrant during that time. and when this seasons conflict was fixed with the "power of friendship" the show literally mentions that the ice emperor is STILL INSIDE ZANES NOGGIN. AND WHAT DOTHEY DOO?? THEY MAKE IT INTO A FUCKING JOKE. its honestly almost disgusting to me how they handled it, Zane has DIED BEFORE. that's bad. he should have trauma. BUT Zane LITERALLY HAS A BLOODTHIRSTY KILLER IN HIS FUCKING HEAD. DO NOT JOKE ABOUT THIS SHIT. ACTUALLY. HE SHOULD HAVE SOME RELUCTANCE TO USING HIS POWERS OR SOMETHING, ANYTHING MAN. i've seen it be said that varian kissing thomas in the garden and spending the golden night with thomas at the villa before he left was selfish. what are your thoughts?

I think to call Varian selfish in that situation is an insane stretch and one that completely ignores the situation they're in. There are a lot of reasons why Varian left Marseille when he did and literally none of them were selfish reasons. Look at the broken man driving away from the villa and tell me his actions are selfish. I'll bullet point them:

Varian was no longer in Marseille on a work Visa - he'd been fired from his job and was there on a shorter term tourist Visa. He couldn't stay any longer, especially in relation to the next point.

The situation was unravelling all around them. Patterson threatened to out Varian not only for being gay, but also for treason. Thomas is a gay Jew - if Varian had stayed with him in Marseille and been outed? Thomas likely would've ended up a prisoner somewhere. The government was already deporting prisoners back to the Reich. Thomas was in danger being associated with Varian. Petit had just been killed for trying to rescue Paul. Marseille was no longer safe for any of them.

The Chagalls had no way out of France. There were no boats. The only way to get them out was the car. Varian spent the entire season trying to get the Chagalls out. It was his final act of heroism before he was forced to leave. He had to get them out. Sure, Thomas says, "Don't make this about the Chagalls", but in reality, it was about them. Thomas was just hurt and at the time couldn't bear the thought of Varian leaving, but Varian leaving in the car was very much about saving the Chagalls. His mission was to save people and he wasn't going to let two refugees be put in harm's way for his own happiness.

What choice did Varian have? He has a wife back in New Jersey. He's a gay man in 1940s with a fascist war going on around him. His lover is a male Jew. What was he supposed to do? I saw people asking why Thomas didn't come with him, but how could he? Thomas doesn't have a US Visa. He couldn't leave Europe. Notice Thomas doesn't suggest coming with Varian to the US, because he knows he can't.

Varian never promised Thomas he would stay with him. He never told him he would. In my eyes kissing him in the garden and making love to him one last time was all he could do. It was his last chance to show Thomas he loves him. His kiss was a response to Thomas' confession of love for him, not a promise that he was going to stay. I don't even think Varian had yet decided he was going to leave. Would it have been less selfish if Varian hadn't made love to him one last time and left him? Personally I don't think so - he showed Thomas he loved him the only way he knew how, so at least Thomas would never doubt that.

The way Varian left things wasn't ideal and could be seen as cruel, but I think in Varian's mind he was doing the right thing - he had to set Thomas free. Think back to Thomas saying, "free your wife to find someone who can love her fully" - Varian was doing exactly that for Thomas, in his mind. I think it would've been more selfish if Varian had asked Thomas to wait for him while he goes to sort his life out in the US. Varian doesn't know if there will ever be a time they can be together and he is not in a position to abandon his entire life at that moment, especially when none of them have any idea when this war is going to end. At this point in the story, things were only getting worse. Thomas was blinded by his love for Varian in these moments, but he's not stupid - I think once the initial shock and pain wears off, he'll understand why his fantasy never would've worked, at least not in that place and that time.

I think it's easy to get swept up in the romance and want it all to work out in the end, but the ending was a devastating reminder that their time at the villa was never going to last in those circumstances, and we can only hope that one day, after the war, Varian will be able to prioritize his own happiness and will feel safe enough to come back for Thomas. I'm not saying he was right for leaving basically without a word, but I certainly understand him - how exactly do you say goodbye to someone when you're leaving your heart behind in their hands? No words would've been enough to express how much he was leaving behind, and perhaps he thought it would serve Thomas better to think he was an asshole for leaving without a word than to leave him with a tearful declaration of love, or maybe that if he allowed Thomas to speak to him meaningfully, he may not be able to bring himself to leave, only resulting in more danger to both of them. There are many reasons why he left the way he did - maybe none of them were right, but he was not being selfish, and I think it made sense for his character. He was throwing away his happiness to save the lives of two refugees, which is why he was in Marseille to begin with - to save people, and save people he did. He made love to Thomas one last time not because he was selfish, but because he wanted them to enjoy those last few moments they had together to solidify how they made each other feel during the time they spent together - warm, loved, desired, worshipped. There's no way Thomas didn't feel the intense depth of Varian's love for him in that kiss at the farm and as they took each other apart in that tiny bed in Varian's room. Thomas also knows that what he wants and what is actually possible are two very different things - I think he also knew deep down what he was suggesting couldn't happen, which is why he's near tears as he explains to Varian that happiness to him is holding Varian in his arms. He's in shock and devastated that Varian is leaving, but he knows Varian inside and out, and knows Varian leaving has nothing to do with not loving him and everything to do with Varian's devotion to what he feels like his duty.

-What are some of your character's pet peeves?

People who walk slow drive her insane. If she gets stuck behind someone on the street going at a snail's pace, she'll be grinding her teeth with rage. She may be short, but she's developed a rather quick gait after years of having to keep up with people with longer legs than hers.

Being late. She's a busy girl and she expects people to be on time to things. If she's standing around for more than five minutes waiting for someone, she's gonna be pissed.

-What does your character see as the greatest injustice?

Any sort of sexual violence that goes unpunished is an injustice in her eyes, and she often will take things into her own hands if need be to remedy that 😈

The fact that the upper class can behave just as bad--and often even worse--than the gang does and yet act like they are so much better than them makes her blood boil.

She also thinks any child abuse is abhorrent.

-What does your character fear?

She's got terrible claustrophobia, due to trauma from both the alleyway she was attacked in being very narrow and small, and being buried alive. One of the easiest ways for her to have a panic attack is by shoving her in a tiny space that she feels trapped in.

She also has a fear of thunder (astraphobia) because there was a huge thunderstorm the night of the attack, and she always associates that with that moment in her life. Whenever there's thunder, it put her nerves on end and she's often lingering even closer to Tommy than normal during those times. (I actually wrote a fic about that fear of hers here)

She also has a phobia of moths (mottephobia). If she sees one she'll scream and make a big fuss until it either is dead or ushered outside. Tommy thinks it's hilarious. (You can also read about her panicking over a moth here)

Reading another way has gave me an au idea that's driving me insane in the best and worst way possible

What if instead of alucard coming to our world, a reader from our world gets transported right into Dracula's lab room. Reader is a STEM (chem/physics leaning) major and starts panicking because not only are they in a strange room, but they're in a room that will literally cost them a fortune to repay if the damage anything (they don't even need to be American, lab equipment is ridiculously expensive all over the world) but Lisa walks into the lab to get anything she needed from there before heading to Wallachia and finds reader(same age as alucard) and the whole Isekai language barrier shenanigans endue but this time with a bit more spice cause reader know some formulas and blueprints that are needed for some advanced technology.

Some basic notes: Lisa lives cause she takes reader under her wing, Dracula stays happy and sane though he did think reader was dumb at first from their panicked expression in his lab (he thought they were of the "WITCHCRAFT" people) alucard now has a new housemate that he's learning to communicate with and share hobbies with.

Anon this sounds like an awesome fic idea, and there's the whole family to add into the story (wohoo) with some interesting results, I think! Because building them as characters interacting with Reader also means Reader automatically gains more dimension bc they're forced to 'act' differently around each character, so there are more interactions (hence scene possibilities) to have fun with I could think of:

4. Dracula & Lisa

5. Dracula & Alucard

6. Lisa & Alucard

Maybe, maybe even uh... Could add something from the show / Reader arrives before Lisa's death anyway so up until that time a lot of things can happen but maybe at one point that 'visit' from the bishop has to happen as it does in the show, could maybe go differently if Reader were there hmm? Or if Reader had some way to tell Adrian to get over there please-now and the Church doesn't get to burn her home clinic to the ground or capture her - can also be a great bonding moment for Reader and Alucard (or maybe the Church does take her and they break her free)

Oh, oh, and with such a setup it could also be a possibility to explore the vampire world via Dracula, since the family's all happy and together ^^ (more trouble can happen from anywhere, like maybe Dracula's faced with a conundrum involving other vampire factions or something similar / and doesn't want bloodshed and Reader&A figure out a way?) I'm riding the idea train here with no end in sight lmao but the prompt is great, especially for the Drac&Lisa live part! Really nice! Someone here requested a reader-falls-into 1470s Wallachia too, wrote a oneshot but R was on the Humanities side there and landed in pretty much the middle of Forest 😄

EIGHT DAYS LATER here we goooo. I think I already did one of these for all those that follow, on the final m&m scene, so let's have some Fingon and Turgon feels instead!

Fingon was dressed for a long journey. He had brought out again some of his furs from the Ice, although the weather was much milder in this new country, and taken a small pack of provisions. He had his bow slung over one shoulder, and his harp over the other.

this was intended to set the scene pretty instantly. Fingon with a bow and a harp... hmmm where could he possibly be off to.

This is technically a bit counter-canonical: the silm does say he set out "without taking the counsel of any", after all. But as you very delightfully showed with that stunning Fingon and Maglor fic, it can be very very fun to play with the idea that there was someone who knew Fingon was leaving! And here Turgon gets to do it.

Fingon had not noticed him until then. He started a little at Turgon’s voice. “Just for a walk,” he said evasively.

hmm something about how younger brothers in this fic are always watching and always noticing and the older brothers just... do not really reciprocate.

“I’ll join you,” said Turgon, calling his bluff. Fingon smiled at him. “I think it best you stay here.”

Fingon spends this entire fic smiling at Turgon - a very friendly and also kind of very dismissive smile - and it drives Turgon insane.

“They say he is lost,” said Turgon, dropping the pretence, “they say he is likely dead.” “I know,” Fingon said. There was a clear, bright look in his eyes. He began to walk away again. Turgon thought of Elenwë’s hand slipping out of his in the freezing water. He thought of Idril’s ice-chip eyes, her strange and steely laugh. He thought of how rarely Finrod smiled these days. “After everything they did,” he said, something hot and ugly twisting in his stomach, “after he led you into murder – and then abandoned us to the Ice – and still you will not give up on him?” Fingon looked back at him again. “I cannot leave him there, if there is a chance,” he said.

obviously the rescue is wonderful and brilliant and so brave and such a tremendous act of grace. I love it ok. But here I wanted to look at the other side of it: the idea that Fingon acted very irresponsibly in leaving, and that Turgon found the endless boundless love Fingon bore for Maedhros pretty unforgiveable. Which is entirely justified, on his part!

Anyway my usual headcanon is that russingon was very much a Secret Thing, and nobody (except Maglor methinks) actually knew they were in a relationship. For this fic I threw that out because Turgon knowing about the whole affair and deeply disapproving was pretty important.

“Because you love him,” Turgon said bitterly. “You love him yet. You said—” It had been a different continent, and a different world, when Fingon had declared, He is not mine anymore. Turgon realised now that he had believed his brother, and kept on believing him even as all the certainties of his life had shattered. He had been a fool to do so.

Although I left it all very much implied, this is the big turning point for Turgon, the moment when he effectively gives up on his relationship with Fingon. He realises, now, that Fingon will always put Maedhros above him - and it's that, the knowledge that his brother is willing to throw his life away on this reckless quest for someone who has wronged Turgon so badly, that leads him to leave for Gondolin and not speak to his brother for centuries.

“I am sorry, Turno,” Fingon said, and there was regret in his voice. “But I am going. You need not follow me.” He looked over his shoulder at Turgon again, and flashed him one last smile; and then he kept walking, away from Turgon, towards Maedhros. So it had always been.

Turgon stood rooted to the spot until his brother had vanished into the evening shadows; then he turned away.

a literal and a very metaphorical turning away at the end there.

Max is probably the character I'm most indifferent about. I understand she went through a lot and there are times when she can be enjoyable but a lot of the time for me personally I really don't like her!

My main gripe with her though is that even after Billy's death not once does she ever bring up the abuse Billy had to endure all his life. The only time she mentions Neil is when she literally tells Billy's grave that he left Susan and Max (like that is supposed to make things better)

And you can't say she didn't know what was going on, SHE'D SEEN IT FIRST HAND! In runaway Max she witnesses Billy getting hit with a belt!!!

I honestly wished she had told the party about it, like she brings up how miserable Billy could make her at times but then she explains that it was because Neil made his life a living hell and he didn't have an outlet to take out all his anger on other than Max (even if he didn't want hurt her the way he did) she talks about how everytime she got into trouble Billy would take the blame and suffer for it.

The party could see Billy in a new light: at first they all thought he was an asshole who only looked out for himself when in reality he only had himself to look at for. Billy didn't have anyone supporting him or on his side, he barely had any friends back in Cali. Neil had taught him to never express his emotions to others and therefore he closed himself off to the rest of the world. Hoping that someone would recognize his reckless behaviour and try to help him.

Sorry for the rant, I just really hope the Duffers can pull their head out of their ass and fully redeem Billy's character and his relationship with Max. Have a scene where ghost Billy (not Vecna!Billy real Billy) is speaking Max while she is in a coma and he apologizes for how he acted and Max tells Billy she understands what he went through and that she knew a part of him did care for her. Billy admits that he did always want them to have a sibling relationship but he was so afraid of opening up only to get hurt again, which is why he acted out around her. The two get there closure and say that they love each other (maybe Max goes with him to the afterlife) that's how I want their arcs to end.

With them getting closure and starting to rebuild their relationship in the afterlife

I love Max but the Duffers let her (& Billy) down in S4. That scene with Lucas where he's talking about his guilt of not saying anything to Patrick about his abuse drives me insane because I was sitting there expecting Max to say something along the lines of, "I know how you feel. Billy was the same. I saw it happen but didn't do anything and I can't change it." That would have been such a simple moment to not only let Lucas and then inturn through general group knowledge know Billy was abused but also for them to have a genuine moment of relatability. It would have been nice for them to have a heart to heart about grief and actually have someone to speak to about it but nope.

The fact no one. Not a soul connects the dots of Max being depressed and her watching her brother die. I like to think she spoke to El about it before she left but after that was alone because no one else could understand.

Don't even get me started on Neil getting away with everything and Susan becoming a neglectful parent leaving Max well and truly alone.

I don't have big hopes for Billy's character from now on but I seriously hope I'm surprised by s5

Oh gosh I don’t know if I’m being honest. I just kind of go with the flow of it all. Literally writing the words as I think them and then go back to adjust when I need to edit. But !! But! If I could say anything that might help get your creativity back on the treadmill

I would suggest, depending on what you’re writing of course, put yourself as the voice of the character for a bit. How would you react to what’s going on. I embarrassingly do a lot of facial movements and hand movements and play out a scene. Sometimes it’ll unlock an “oh wait something like this could happen next” moment

If you’re stumped entirely, move ahead!!! Don’t allow yourself to be fitted like a typewriter! If a scene isn’t scening put a letter or mark and press enter. The fun part about this is that you can come up with ANYTHING now that there’s no connection to the former line and if you go ham enough with typing you can find a new point and reconnect them. Writing seems like it should be point A to point B to point C but you really could start anywhere within reason. Sometimes i think about the end result and then work my way there :)

Sometimes I also just like looking at things. Art, people, words, and I get little snippets of dialogue or action and I think “hey I want to stick that somewhere” here’s an example from my notes app (speaking of notes app use the heck out of it)

When I was writing Drink for your First Kiss this was literally all I started with :) that and the vague movements and feelings that would have come from being kissed for the first time.

As for the notes app, I recommend making it a widget! I like to write down my silly little ideas. Sometimes something really dumb happens to me and I’ll mark it as something that can be used for character development

Here’s an example! I take my siblings to school. Well at the start of the year I was driving, right? Well there’s this hole that you have to curve just right to avoid.

Dear reader I did not do that.

If anything I saw something black fly across my vision. I freaked out for a bit, dropped my sister off, and made my way back only for it to have been nothing (I should have known that realistically). And as I was shaken, driving home, I thought “ah what if it was my guardian Angel? Oh! What if he was cast down from heaven because he fell in love with me. Oh! What about a story about a girl who hits her guardian Angel, disguised as a bird, with her car and takes him in only to find out he was cast out for falling deeply in love with her and doing absolutely everything in his power to protect her. What if his love was the driving force of the story. He already fell from heaven, what wouldn’t he do for her?”

All that from me hitting a hole and all within the span of ten minutes lol!

So if you take anything away from my silly little rambling it’s that you CAN and you WILL come across a motive to continue that you haven’t hit yet!!

Mark it down, mark it down, mark it down!!

I’m sure you’ll get on eventually and if worse comes to worse, be dramatic!!!! Kill off a character for a few minutes in the drafts 🫢 nothing to get you worked up than imagining they’re not there and how does everything else move on.

Oh also add lots of spaces in between thoughts. That’s something that just works for me!

PS: dreams are also a good way to take ideas :) they’re already the unfiltered insanity that happens in your brain maybe take a pinch of it for your writing !

The one thing that never fails to turn Aiden Jeon on is Katie’s aegyo. It literally drives him insane whenever she starts to act all cute, especially if it’s directed towards him. Katie once called him oppa and he got so turned on that he couldn’t control himself. There isn’t really anything that Katie can do that turns Aiden Jeon off. She also knows most, if not all of the things that turn him on.

H ─ Humour. Are they the kind to share a laugh during sex ?  Has something funny already happened to them ( breaking the bed, one of them falling off the couch, funny noises, etc… ) ?

Katie and Aiden Jeon are definitely not the type who have super serious sex. They obviously have their more intimate moments, but most of the time they like to just have fun with each other. He always tries to make it fun and enjoyable for Katie and also really likes to hear her laugh. Aiden Jeon has definitely fallen off the bed at least once.

E ─ Experimenting. Are they willing to experiment new things ?  Is there something they’d like to try with their partner, but haven’t had the chance yet ?  Any experiments gone wrong ?

Aiden Jeon is definitely up for experimenting when it comes to sex. He’s always very open when ever Katie suggests something new. He’ll also only ever try something with Katie if she’s comfortable with the idea. If he wants to do something but Katie doesn’t want to, then he’ll just throw the idea away and forget about it. Katie’s comfort is more important to him than his own pleasure.

O ─ O’clock. What time do they usually have sex  ( mornings, late at night, during lunch break, etc… ) ?  Are they usually in a rush, or do they take their time ? How about on weekends / holidays ?

This really depends on their schedules. When they’re both extremely busy with their work, sex usually gets reduced to quickies whenever they can see each other. Aiden Jeon will always try to see Katie even if his schedule is packed. If they’re both in different countries, he likes to video call her whenever he gets the chance. When they’re both free and not busy filming movies, they like to take their time with each other. Aiden Jeon really likes to take his time with Katie and loves to worship her during this time.

R ─ Recording. Have they ever filmed themselves having sex ?  Did they watch it together afterwards ?  Has anyone else seen their videos ?

Katie and Aiden Jeon have only ever filmed themselves having sex once. He suggested they film one of their roleplay scenarios and even joked that it would be his favourite movie. Most of the time, they usually just send each other videos of themselves when they’re away from each other. Aiden Jeon still gets a little paranoid that someone’s going to hack into his phone and get access to all their private videos and photos.

Y ─ Yucky. Is there something they find particular disgusting or unpleasant in regards to sex ? Something they’d absolutely refuse to do, even if the other really wanted it ?  Have they already denied the other some kinks because of this ?

i have more to say actually. hi ivi love you <3 okay so. i think one of the reasons that later seasons arent hitting as well in terms of comedy (for me, at least), is that the antics are largely off screen. they allude of antics and dont SHOW us them as much as they used to. instead we are getting more episodes of them bonding as a group. and while i think this takes away from the comedy, it is definitely intentional and i think it is more proof of. how they are intentionally moving towards more meaningful story lines. i am thinking specifically of the charlies dad ireland episodes where mac gets to be gay, dennis is sick, and charlie gets one of thee most heart wrenching moments in the entire show. the antics are lessening and its SO meaningful. even the poop bit is somewhat meaningful (i hate saying that) because it's proof that frank is aging and i kind of hope they have an episode about it. not just frank-antics (frantics, if you will). GOD I WANT A MEANINGFUL DEE EPISODE SOOOOO BAD. the women and gays deserve a good dee episode soooooo badly. i want her to kill someone like. okay now i am writing fanfiction here. i want an episode to open on her covered in blood with a comically huge knife (blood on her face and mouth as a call back to the cannibal episode maybe?) and the gang thinks she murdered someone, but in the end its actually because she ate a girl out on her period and they had some kinky knifeplay sex. manifesting it. ummmmm. what else can i burden you with. thats it. for now. okay this is very interesting and I think you're probably right, tho i can't actually properly comment on it bc i haven't really analyzed the show as a whole to see the actual difference that you mention, bc they did also make emotional and bonding episodes in the past, but i agree that I do think the show is getting more serious and more about the feelings of the characters, bc I feel like even if they don't have an intention of ending right now, they know they are getting to an end and so it's time to start seeing the impact of the things they have lived. It's time to finally go somewhere (like it's insane that they did the Charlie's dad thing, that was an unresolved plot since s2!!!!! since the beginning!!! and they closed it!!!) they are literally bringing their recurring themes to the surface, and so macdennis.

now I don't have much thoughts about frank (tho I would argue that we have started seeing his emotional side with the whole charlie thing) but I do about dee (my love 😍). Now objectively I think Dee's plot is going to be about acting, something will happen that will get her to realize she has to stop trying to be an actress, and that process will also be about her need of approval. I don't think she's going to get 'fixed' (there's nothing to fix, she's perfect) but it will be about dealing with all that. That's my bet, but i'm open to them surprising me, it would not be the first time. Now what do I want from Dee's plot?? lesbianism. kissing a girl will fix dee!!!! and also it will drive mac and dennis (for different reasons) INSANE, so the comical potential is right there!! like people always talk about 'how gay the show is' and only mention the guys (bc yeah they are gay) and dee gets ignored when she has a very clear queercoding that drives me insane!!! like she wants to kiss women so bad it makes her look stupid, bc she's also stupid and doesn't know she wants to kiss women!!!! Overall I do like their Story the most. There are a few little things I would have done differently. But I think it's normal and okay maybe not to like every parts of your ship. For me it just reflects that people are not perfect in real life either and so are may stories. If that makes sense.

Their chemistry is just the best one from all the couples.

Their feelings for eachother feel the most genuine.

They convince me the most

They have the cutest moments together

They both bring out the best in eachother

It's show not just tell.

They are two of the most interesting complex characters on the show.

Mara didn't care about Benny

Their chemistry just feels the best for me, because they show alot of scenes of them being vulnerable aswell. And the two connect really well aswell. They do have fun with eachother. And their relationship doesn't feel forced. It doesn't feel like it has to be perfect in every way. Like Nina and Daniel for example.

Their feelings feel the most genuine. By the things they do for eachother, it's obvious that they love eachother. They also are the one couple who had to get to know eachother first before falling for eachother. ( Except maybe Nina and Daniel.). But I always feel like their relationship is the least superficial one on the show. As Charlotte starts crushing on Kaya literally just because he's hot at the beginning, Luzy is in love with Max just because of the letters and Nina and Daniels whole relationship just seems superficial to me and lacks depth. They aren't just in love with their good parts. Mara tells Charlotte one time in S3 that everyone has good parts and bad parts which could mean she loves Magnus beside his bad parts aswell And so does Magnus, as in PD7S. Even if Mara has to plan everything and it may drive him a bit insane. He still loves her. And in S3 when Magnus took care of a sick Mara. She wasn't at her best in that moment. Nobody is when they are sick. But just that Mara feels comfortable with him taking care of her when she doesn't look her best and didn't care about looking good for him because loves her for way more than that, just shows how genuine those feelings they have for eachother are.

They convince me the most. They do act the most like a couple. Especially in Season 3 they sell me the most that their are in a relationship. Which I sometimes miss from the other couples. Just the general touch off affections they do. Okay, Charlotte and Kaya weren't in a relationship throughout most of the show and Season 3 was them just pining.

They have the cutest moments together. Magnus sleeping in Maras bed. Or Magnus taking care of a sick Mara. Or Mara being worried that Magnus works for Radus. Their breakfast in bed eating rituals. They said they loved eachother, that they feel comfortable around eachother and that there is something special between them. They do have those moments of intimacity with eachother.

They both bring out the best in eachother. Mara has become alot more confident and self assured through him. And Magnus is able to show more of his vulnerable side through her. They have already been that before. But the other person just brought it up more.

It's show not just tell. This is really important to me. You can actually see that they fall for eachother and it's not just tell. I think from all the girls in the show Mara never specifically said that she was in love with Magnus. But she didn't had to because you could see it. It also was the most convincing. As the other girls never or rarely looked at their boyfriends like Mara did. She also shows the most through actions that she loves him. They actually show us them having fun with eachother, building a relationship with eachother etc. Which again I miss from the other couples. Nina says she wants to spend every minute with Daniel. And in the movie she says they had the most fun craziest most romantic six months. But it's never shown where. Where do they have so much fun together? Or in S3 Nina says how much she has missed Daniel after he has been kidnapped but has never put any actual work searching for him either. Charlotte just has a crush on Kaya at the beginning because he is hot. They show us how they hang out, once like around Ep 40 or something, were they play Twister. And afterthat they don't show them having any scenes together. And then around Ep 92 it's literally said that Charlotte has been in love with Kaya for a long time. Where? Or Luzy. I know she works with Max. But after he kissed her. They just tell us through those weird dreams she has, that she is in love with him without ever seeing them really spend time with eachother on their own. They try to convince us that the letters and the dreams and the kiss are the prove that Max and Luzy are meant for eachother. Without knowing first how the two connect with eachother.

They are two of the most interesting complex characters on the show. Just in my opinion there is some of the most depth in their characters. They both were at their worst in S1 and they both made mistakes, altough not comparable. Which just makes them more interesting characters to me to watch and therfor also more of an interesting relationship.

It's interesting and it has personality. I love how in S3 how their personalities work in the relationship. And how good they complement eachother. Magnus being more impulsive but yet more logical and rational. And Mara being more patient but yet more romantic and idealistic. And when they were captured by that tattoo artist. How well they worked together. And I could see how Mara got some parts of his personality in S3 aswell, the being suspicious. She doesn't trust Rosies date Paolo, she thinks Felix E-Mail could be fake.

The other three are trash sorry. Charlotte and Kaya had alot more potential and I did like them kind of in Season 3. But Nina×Daniel or LuzyxMax? I just don't like them. Nina and Daniel don't have dates, chemistry anything else than the Club. And Luzy and Max were maybe kind of cute after they got together but they were so weird in S3. I just don't understand how the writers did Mara and Magnus like this. And the other relationships like that. Okay Nina and Daniel was mostly the chemistry to blame. ( Although their Story wasn't really good either tbh. Especially in the movie) How can they show a scene of Nina almost cheating on her boyfriend and the next scene is Mara snuggling up to a sleeping Magnus. Or Mara telling Magnus that she prefers him alot more over Benny and a few scenes later we have a happy no guilt whatsoever Nina going on a date with another guy.

They never broke up with eachother. And instead of immediately breaking up they talk it out with eachother and work on their relationship. Daniel had legitimate reasons to break up with Nina because she cheated on him. But Luzy and Max break up like zillion times in S3 and sometimes it doesn't even feel like they are together even when they are supposed to be. And Charlotte and Kaya break up like a minute after they got together. Instead of like maybe talking to eachother first. And I don't know if it's me but I always found it weird that Max didn't know anything about Luzys plan going to the USA or that this was her dream.

It doesn't drawn so much attention. Okay. This is not the other couples fault this more like the other peoples fault who get involved in their relationship. Nina and Daniels relationship in S2 sometimes feels like an attraction to the others which I don't really like. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that they have to hide it, that would be worse. But it just feels so much like an attention for the others. Which makes those moments they have less for eachother but more for the others aswell kind of. And I also don't mean that they can't share happy moments with the others they had. Absolutely not. But there just seems to be too much the others know and the two barely have any alone time, were they tell eachother stuff just they know. And in S3 the others pretty much comment on Max and Luzys whole relationship drama. I mean I don't really understand how nobody commented on Mara and Magnus in S2. But I do like how uninterested the others are in their relationship. Realistically you would talk about their relationship the most as the literally sleep in one bed together at times. And the only person who really gets involved are Felix and Malika. Two people who are close to them.

They had the best first kiss. I don't know if I can even compare them to the others. Nina and Daniel's just has no Chemistry. There is no build up or anything. There is never a moment where the two were about to kiss eachother. It's just suddenly BAM! In the S1 Finale because they have to. Luzy and Max was okay but because I didn't like how she didn't know who it was and that she supposed to felt it through the kiss without liking him before that. But it looks more like a quick peck than a real kiss. And Charlotte and Kaya in the S2 Finale. It was so random that I'm sure this wasn't even their first kiss. Meanwhile with Mara and Magnus before their actual first kiss they almost kiss eachother like 3 episodes before but don't. And when Mara comes out of the stall and she leans in and kisses him. And Felix comes in but they don't hear him because they don't care at that moment and then they slowly pull apart kind of still in that moment and they look at eachother realising what they just did. It looked like the most with them that they were lost in the kiss or something.

They aren't afraid to talk about more serious stuff. Which I think could be the reason why they never broke up on the show. Because they are talking to eachother. They talk about their feelings. And overall just about their feelings in general aswell. There were a few instances of miscommunication. But they always try to understand eachother and work it out. They talk about their families etc. Mara tells him that it's important that they trust eachother and they do work through that together. Especially with Nina and Daniel it felt like the writers just didn't dare to go deeper with them. Which I honestly think they should have kind of had a talk after Nina cheated on Daniel with Benny, especially how she did it. Instead of just shrugging it off with a letter and forgetting about it. The way Nina treated Daniel it was like she had some underlying issues with him and I don't think it's really healthy for a relationship to cheat on someone and then not really talk about the issues why and what bothered you.

Mara didn't care about Benny. I love how Mara had no interest in Benny whatsoever from the beginning. And even if they had some problems during that time because of the blackmail letter Magnus received. Mara still chose him. Even if there will be troubles they don't end up cheating on eachother.

do i understand the carerra's worry about Kie and their desperation to take dramatic acts because Kie is doing really dangerous things? Absolutely. If you look at it all from a parents perspective it's all terrifying and would definitely drive them to not the best actions. However, one of the parent/teenager dysfunctional dynamics that I hate so much is when the parents kick the teenager out and then get mad when they don't come back?? Which the Carerra's did to Kie twice? I know they didn't really mean the first 'don't come back at all' and they were worried and Kie's actions of coming back just when she needs something isn't the best either. But it comes from an inconsistency there, Kiara is a teenager and takes everything they say very literally because she means everything she says its a huge part of her character and probably does come in large part from her parents. So in the last few episodes of season 2 when they're mad she didn't come home for days when their last interaction was Anna throwing Kiara's clothes over the porch and kicking her out is insane to me. It makes complete and total sense to me that Kiara would feel zero trust and safety with her parents when that's the dynamic.

She's not perfect either, but she's also 17 and everything she does she only does because she genuinely believes it's for the right reasons.

Kiara and her parents are actually one of my favourite relationships in the show, if I am being completely honest. Like I know certain people have a deep hatred/dislike towards Anna and Mike and their treatment, and I can understand that but so much of it is rooted from how much they care about her, and Kiara’s own actions and how she reacts shows the same. She reacts the way she does because moments like the whole ‘throwing her clothes off the porch’ hurt because she cares about her parents and their opinion obviously matters to her. 

I do think a lot of the relationship is based on miscommunication and I am hoping that we see the relationship be explored next season. I want the Carrera redemption, I want them to see the daughter they have raised and the group she has surrounded herself with (these people she would die for and who would die for her too), and just realise that Kiara isn’t doing things out of spite or rebellion, but because she cares so much. 

And I want Kiara to realise that her parents have good intentions but just don’t show it in the best way, that the fear they have over losing their daughter created some drastic decisions but they do care about her and they do want what is best for her, and that they love her just as much as she loves them. 

I just cannot wait to see more of Kiara and the Carreras.
