Political Circus.....
Tumblr media
Just sayin,.... I know how the Trump supporters think. They think the system in America has taken advantage of them their whole lives.
Trump has reassured these people that is Indeed the case, and they have been used and abused by the system.
That's why he won the presidency when he did.
Ya see, if enough of those people grow stronger in numbers Trump will win again, because those people think Trump is going to change America more in "Their" favor........ that's the hope anyway,.... and the logic is,..... it takes a grifter to change a grifter mentality, and Trumps supporters think government is already a bunch of Grifters!
Every crime Trump has commited is a testament of that bastardization of the system in America that he will turn into a positive in those peoples minds,......... they thrive on it like they are finally getting back at whomever has screwed their livelihoods,... as Trump tells them this American system isn't against him as much as it's against keeping them down where the system want's them,......... and that's how he gets the support he's got, and all the hundreds of thousands of donations to his cause from $5 dollars to $200 dollars,........ and it all ads up into millions for his campaign.
If you think the American system has held you back from being a success your probably going to be voting for Trump, and that's just the way it is in a fractured American society, and a whole lot of people have been screwed, but it isn't just government regulations doing it, it's mostly Industries stronghold on society, and industry mandates to government on the most part.
And if you don't believe that why has Donald Trump not been behind bars for everything he's done that YOU or I would be in prison for???
Industry Mandates to Government, not the other way around in reality.
That's what we are suppose to vote for,..... for who gets to be ruler of America and represent we the peoples wishes,............ and so far we have voted continuedly to let suspect people rule for us, ..... which is Republican & Democrat alike, because they both rule like Kings, taking their share FIRST, and then letting what's left trickle down to your dumb ass!
Today's America is a mixture of the truth washed with fake news so no one can tell what the hell is going on.
I mean Trumps supporters think "HE'S INNOCENT OBVIOUSLY" because he hasn't been arrested and put in jail.
Ya see,... Once America is seen as a Grifter, like Trump is, we will lose any legitimacy we have enjoyed to date, and in that America you will see a suspicious world that may not want to do business with America any more without payment UP-FRONT, which we don't do today, because we have the credibility of paying our debts, Trump doesn't pay his debts, he tells those who he ows money to that they have benefited from doing business with TRUMP and therefor doesn't pay them for their services........ just ask some of the lawyers whom Trump has fired.
Foreign nations won't stand for that kind of hoodwink, they will just refuse to do business with America.
Then America can join all the other third world nations with high poverty rates whos government is basically criminal and takes everything from their people.
Turning America into two classes, the wealthy and the poor, NO MIDDLE CLASS.
Hide and watch..........
If your voting for Trump your probably someone who thinks you've been stepped on or bypassed for your chance at the brass ring in America, so your going to send a message to the system,.... or maybe even try to collapse the whole system that did you wrong, which Trump will do that for ya,... and I understand that logic, I got nothing against ya.
I too have lost faith in today's political circus, I think I'm going to write my own name in for president "again', because nothing on the most part changes anyway, be it a democrat or republican president in office,.... they always force each other through congress legislations games to compromise with something that only benefits THEM and their livelihood and not We The People it seems.
It's just like a circus anymore, and we the people still have to pay admission to watch the stunts............. but were no longer part of the performance............

2022 NFL Season Preview
New stadium names, new rosters and....the same ol' QB in Tampa
Tumblr media
Yes, that's right folks! It is almost that wonderful time of the year. The 2022 NFL football 🏈 season is upon us!
Tumblr media
As it stands right now, the Buffalo Bills are the odds on favorite to finally win it all at Super Bowl 57, with Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Bucs being a close second. However, you can't count out the reigning Super Bowl Champs, The Los Angeles Rams, who are slated to stomp all over their division rivals and possibly win back-to-back titles.
Let's take a brief look at what we could expect, who might wreck their division or who might wreck their entire season.
Bear in mind, any opinion or prediction expressed is just that; an opinion. Take it however you will.
2022 Possible division winners & losers
NFC West division winner: Los Angeles Rams. It makes too much sense. One name: Aaron Donald. 'Nuff said.
NFC West division loser: Seattle Seahawks. The last of the legion of boom is gone as well as their future hall of fame quarterback. This could also be the last hurrah for head coach Pete Carroll. Expect a depressing season in the Emerald City.
NFC North winner: Minnesota Vikings. I know people are saying that the Packers will once again rule the division, but with Minnesota's bolstered weapons ready for a breakout season, Aaron Rodgers is due to get humbled (but, Green Bay will still make the playoffs).
NFC North loser: Chicago Bears. Face it, the Monsters of the Midway still need more work. They might actually finish with a worse record than their counterparts in Detroit. Another long season for the Chi-Town fans.
NFC South winner: Tampa Bay Bucs. Yes, they have the old man back, Tom Brady. As much as I'm disgusted with picking him to smash this division, the fact is, Atlanta, Carolina & New Orleans just aren't strong enough.
NFC South loser: Atlanta Falcons. With their stars gone, Not much noise will be made from these guys this season. You football fans down in Georgia might want to focus on your college football teams this year. Sorry.
NFC East winner: Philadelphia Eagles. It breaks my heart to admit this, but their roster is probably the most complete in this division, but don't count out the Washington Commanders or the New York Giants.
NFC East loser: Dallas Cowboys. Dak is losing his touch, Ezekiel Elliott is on a down slope & maybe the only thing that'll give this roster hope will be their defense, if they stay healthy. I expect some heart break from these guys this season.
AFC West winner: Los Angeles Chargers. I say that with slight ease because the fact is, the AFC West is going to be the best division in the NFL this year. However, I believe the Chargers will be the last ones standing, with Kansas City closely following behind them.
AFC West loser: None. I expect this entire division to make the playoffs. As I stated, this is going to be the best & most exciting division in the NFL this season. Expect fireworks.
AFC North winner: Cincinnati Bengals. They're too hungry...and too angry. I expect a lot of smash-mouth style football from these guys this season.
AFC North loser: Pittsburgh Steelers (maybe the Cleveland Browns). With the name changing of their stadium (which many fans have voiced their disgust over), plus other roster holes that, on the surface, might not be a big deal, I expect this to be Pittsburgh's first season to finish under .500, yet somehow, they will do better than the Cleveland Browns. It still won't be enough.
AFC South winner: Tennessee Titans and Indianapolis Colts. These two teams literally own this division. Both teams have star running backs that their rivals wish they had. It'll be a tight race to the end.
AFC South loser: Houston Texans. The team that can't even do a rebuild correctly. Expect another lost season, with nothing to hope for.
AFC East Winner: Buffalo Bills. They are the new kings of the AFC East, as long as everyone stays healthy. However, I'm pretty certain that Bill Bellichek & his New England Patriots got something up their sleeve this coming season.
AFC East loser: New York Jets. I mean, I hate to do it because its pretty much expected at this point, but the Jets aren't even close to being considered dangerous enough to crash the playoffs. The good news? They might win 2 more games this season than they did last season. Some hope, I guess.
2022 NFL Playoff & Super Bowl Predictions
-The entire AFC West is going to the playoffs. Powerful acquisitions made this off-season and great strides made with their rosters, this is going to be the division most visiting teams will be scared to play against....unless you're the Buffalo Bills.
-Yes, Minnesota might win the division, but Aaron Rodgers & the Packers might get the last laugh.
-Hey, Cowboys fans, you're going to get your hearts broken again this season, playoffs or no playoffs. Have a box of kleenex on standby.
-NFC Conference game might come down to the Bucs vs. the Eagles, with the old man pulling off some last second heroics and sending the Eagles back to Philly in heartbreaking fashion.
-AFC Championship will definitely be the Bills against the Bengals. Yes, the Bengals are on a season of revenge tour, but it will backfire.
-Super Bowl 57 might be the Bills vs. the Bucs. Winner? Buffalo Bills. I promise you that I'm not making this prediction out of spite, but this franchise is due. Long overdue. I wouldn't be mad at this.
That is all.

The Inbetween may be lying to or tricking Karl
Before we dive in I want you to know that this is purely theorizing and that I might be completely wrong, still I thought that thinking about this in a different lens might actually become pretty intriguing, if we look at the various twists in the plot that the DSMP lore has been having lately.
First off, I also want to warn you all there will be Kingdom Hearts lore spoilers in this argument, so if you were planning onto watching/playing the game, I don’t recommend reading this. In the same way, if you don’t know anything about the games, no worries, I will explain everything the easiest way I can!
This got long, so I’m leaving a read more right under this.
So, I’m sure you’ve all been left aghast at the sight of the Inbetween’s building and, like me, some of you may have recognized the first room Karl was in. For this one room in particular, he got inspired by Castle Oblivion, which is introduced to us in Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories if I’m not wrong.
Here’s the KH version:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And here’s the Tales of the SMP version:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now I really really like the fact that, of all things, Karl chose to get inspiration from Castle Oblivion. In the KH game, the protagonist, Sora, ventures into this Castle with his two sidekicks and friends, Donald and Goofy. The peculiar thing about this one place, though, something you might as well figure out by the name, is that the deeper they go into the Castle, the more memories they lose, to the point of forgetting the most important people in their hearts.
Now you may be wondering, but Purp what’s wrong in all this and what does it have to do with the Inbetween? Didn’t it say Karl will be getting a hold onto his memories?
Well, this is where it gets really interesting: you see, in Chain of Memories there is a main antagonist, it’s called Organization XIII and it’s a group of people who are trying to get a hold on Sora so they can control him etc, not too important for our argument as of now. The thing is this group is using a particular girl, her name is Naminé and she can manipulate others’ memories and replace them with fake ones.
So here’s my question: who is talking to Karl through the books in the Inbetween? Who says it’s telling the complete and utter truth? Surely it seems like Karl will be able to manage his powers better and perhaps even his memories (up to debate as in “what if he loses control of them?”). But still, what if there’s someone who’s plotting something behind this? What if they just softened the truth of his powers to him? What if it didn’t tell him everything? For example, I’m sure it tasted sour when it said Karl cannot decide when to time travel. What if this being is the one who does, what if it starts keeping Karl from making history right? What if it starts messing with him as it tries to teach him? Should he really trust it? Well, he doesn’t have any other option now, does he?
Cc!Karl has confirmed he’s made Kingdom Hearts references in the Tales of SMP series in the past and one of them was blatant, i.e. the Village that Never Was, a direct quote to The World that Never Was.
Coincidentially enough, the World that Never Was is the World where the Organization XIII resides (in KH there’s many different scattered Worlds that were once all united). Their headquarters is actually a white castle as well, it’s called the Castle that Never Was, but I do believe it doesn’t have much to do appearence wise to the Inbetween, not as much as it does concept wise to Castle Oblivion. It’s a cool coincidence and sometimes I do like to believe some small things are actually done on purpose.
Now there’s actually another thing that came into my mind thinking about the Inbetween that is linked to Kingdom Hearts.
In one of the latest games, Kingdom Hearts III, a new world has been introduced: The Final World. Sora ends up there because he seems to have died, but it is said that people who end up there continue to persist due to something (or someone) holding them from death. So you could say that this is a sort of Inbetween as well, right? Furthermore, in this place Sora is able to speak to others who ended up there and they tell him their stories. This calls me back to the Lost City of Mizu, where we got to know more about the current members through their descendants, as wrong as they may have been. Or just the new pieces of information Karl is getting, like the existence of the Egg centuries and centuries earlier.
Want to know what happens next in the game? Sora time travels. He time travels to make things right, because right before the moment he died, he had lost all his friends in the War that had just taken place, so he time travels to make things right.
Foreshadowing, anyone?
There’s also complicated and very strict laws of time travel in the KH lore, some laws I still haven’t been able to comprehend as I’ve only recently caught up, but one coincidence is that usually you shouldn’t be able to choose when you time travel, you need very specific conditions.
These conditions are also strictly detailed for the KH lore which is a part of it that has nothing to do with DSMP (for all who know about the game, it's about the whole Heartless, Nobody, soul and/or heart dying at different times, all that stuff) so I won't go further than this.
I really wanted to put this out there because finding these coincidences is super interesting and it may even lead to something in the future, who knows! Maybe just some more easter eggs placed by Karl, I honestly am absolutely loving what he’s doing with the series and I can’t wait for more lore.
Tell me what you guys think in case! Again I pointed this out just for fun.

Duke Reviews Xtra: Alice In Wonderland (1985) Part 1
Hello, I'm Andrew Leduc And Welcome To Duke Reviews Xtra As We Continue Our Look At The Movies Of Disney...
youtube
And On The Next 3 Shows We'll Be Looking At 2 Of My Favorite Adaptations Of The Alice In Wonderland Story, Starting With The 1985 Version Which Was Made By Irwin Allen, Who Created Both Land Of The Giants And Of Course, Lost In Space...
Let's Start With Part 1...
The Movie Starts With Alice (Played By Jenny From Oliver And Company) Helping Her Mother Set The Table For Tea Time, But Despite Asking Her Mother If She Could Join Them For Tea, She Unfortunately Tells Alice No...
This Leads Alice To Go Outside And Talk With Her Sister (Who Is Actually Played By The Actress Plays Alice's Real Life Sister)..
Tumblr media
I Know, This Is My 2nd Favorite Version Of The Tale And Even I Didn't Know That...
But Gets Bored Reading A Book With No Pictures, Which Leads Her Sister To Tell Her That Understand More When She Grows Up, Despite Alice Thinking She's Already Grown Up As She's Seven And A Half...
Playing With Her Cat, Dinah, Alice Spots The White Rabbit (Played By Hoagie From Pete's Dragon) And Follows Him To A Rabbit Hole That She Falls Down...
Tumblr media
Ok, She Doesn't Fall Like That, But Close Enough..
Eventually Landing, Alice Follows The Rabbit To A Door Which Opens To Another Door And Another And Another Until It Finally Opens To A Hall Of Doors Which Leads To The Scene We All Know...
With Alice Finding A Tiny Door She's Too Big For So She Drinks A Bottle Marked Drink Me Which Her Shrink But She Leaves The Key On The Table Which Leads To Her Eating A Cake Marked Eat Me Which Causes Her To Grow Too Big So She Starts To Cry...
But Unlike The Animated Version, The White Rabbit Appears As She Cries And Accidentally Scares Him Into Dropping His Fan And Gloves Which She Uses To Shrink Again To A Size Small Enough To Fit Through A Crack That Leads Her Outside Into A River Of Her Own Tears...
While Swimming, Alice Briefly Meets The Dodo Bird (Played By Mrs. Gogan From Pete's Dragon) The Lory Bird (Played By Cosmo Brown From Singin' In The Rain) And The Mouse (Played By Mr. Jefferson) Who Takes Us Into Our First Song As He Tells Alice Why He Hates Dogs And Cats...
youtube
Leaving Shortly After That Song, Alice Catches Up With The White Rabbit Only To Lead Us To The Scene Where He Mistakes Her For His Housemaid And Sends Her Off To His House To Get A New Fan And Glove Set For Him...
Only To Find Another Bottle Marked Drink Me Which Causes Her To Grow Once Again...
But Unlike The Animated Version, The Dodo Doesn't Show Up, But Instead The Rabbit's Butler Named Pat The Pig (Played By Donald Trump's Number One Supporter, Scott Baio, Who I Think Fits The Role Perfectly With His New Status) Shows Up..
As We Get The Scene With Bill The Lizard Who Goes To Pull Alice Out Of The Chimney Only To Get Kicked Out Of The Chimney By Alice...
This Leads To Pat And The Rabbit To Throw Berries That Turn Into Cakes That Allow Alice To Shrink To Normal Size Again As She Gets Away From The Rabbit And Pat Who Are Still Throwing Berries At Her..
Eventually Losing Them, Alice Soon Meets The Caterpillar (Played By The Candy Man Himself, Sammy Davis Jr.) Who Takes Us Into Our Next Song Called You Are Old Father William...
youtube
But Like The Animated Version, Alice Insults The Caterpillar By Saying That 3 Inches High Is Such A Wretched Height And He Disappears Instead Of Becoming A Butterfly...
Walking Toward A House That Is Visited By A Delivery Man For The Queen Of Hearts Who Gives A Frog Footmen With A Familiar Voice An Invitation From The Queen For The Duchess (Who We'll Meet In A Few Minutes) To Play Croquet...
And By Familiar Voice I Think You May Recognize The Voice Actor For Playing This Guy...
Tumblr media
That's Right, It's Robert Axelrod Otherwise Known As Lord Zedd (He Also Voiced Finster Too But He's Most Remembered For Zedd RIP)
Visiting The House, The Frog Footman Tells Alice That It's Useless Ringing The Bell On The Outside As He's On The Outside Too, But Going Inside Anyway, Alice Meets The Duchess (Played By Benita Bizzare) And Her Maid (Played By Imogene Coca) Who Take Us Into The Next Song...
youtube
But Finding The House To Be Too Violent, Alice Takes The Duchess' Baby Away Only For It To Become A Pig..
After This, She Meets The Cheshire Cat (Played By Kojak) Who Leads Us Into Our Next Song After Telling Her That She Won't Be Able To Leave Wonderland...
youtube
Thinking That He's A Bad Cat, Alice Attempts To Leave But Before She Does, The Cheshire Cat Points Alice To The Mad Hatter (Played By Anthony Newley) And The March Hare (Played By Roddy McDowell Who Would Later Play The Batman Villain, Jervis Tetch Otherwise Known As The Mad Hatter On Batman The Animated Series) Before He Disappears...
Walking Along The Road, Alice Finds The Mad Hatter And The March Hare Having Tea With The Doormouse (Played By Arte Johnson) And Sits Down To Join Them...
As A Little Tea Time Entertainment, The Mad Hatter Leads Us Into Our Next Song Because He Doesn't Like Alice's Version Of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star...
youtube
Eventually Upset By All The Rudeness At The Tea Party, Alice Continues Her Search For The White Rabbit As She Meets A Fawn In The Woods Which Leads To Our Next Song...
youtube
Finding A Doorway In The Woods, Alice Opens It And Finds Herself At A Beautiful Rose Garden Where She Meets Some Cards Who Are Painting The Roses Red, Only To Be Confronted By The Queen (Played By Jayne Meadows) And King (Played By Robert Morley) Of Hearts...
Who Arrives With Not Only The White Rabbit But A Whole Entourage Of People And Cards....
Introducing Herself To The Queen, She Asks Alice What's Going On Here Only For Alice To Tell Her That She Doesn't Know Much Of Anything As She's Only Been There For A Few Seconds Which Leads The Queen To Yell Off With Her Head.,.
But The King Defends Alice Believing That There's No Reason To Behead Her When She Doesn't Know Much Of Anything, Which Leads To Our Next Song...
youtube
Sparring Alice's Head For Now, The Queen Invites Her To Play A Game Of Croquet, Which Unlike The Disney Version Doesn't End With Alice Getting Her Head Nearly Chopped Off...
But Is Instead Just A Game Of Croquet With Flamingos...
With The Queen Pointing Alice In The Direction Of The Mock Turtle, Alice Goes Down The Path The Queen Suggested And Instead Runs Into The Gryphon (Played By Sid Caeser) Who Takes Alice To Meet The Mock Turtle (Played By Ringo Starr) Who Sings The Next And Probably Favorite Song From Part 1 Of This Movie..
youtube
Hearing Someone Yell That The Trial Is Beginning, Alice And The Gryphon Leave The Mock Turtle And Return To The Queen's Garden Where The Knave Of Hearts Is On Trial For Stealing One Of The Queen's Tarts, Despite There Being No Proof That He Did...
Bringing In The First Witness Or Should I Say Witnesses As They Bring In The Mad Hatter, The March Hare And The Doormouse, We Get Our Last Song For This Movie...
youtube
They Also Bring In The Duchess' Cook As A Witness As Well But Eventually Alice Argues The Ways Of The Queen's Court Which Leads Her To Grow As The Queen And Alice Continue To Argue...
Having Enough Of Alice's BS, The Queen Shouts Off With Her Head And Has Her Guards Chase Giant Alice But She's Not Afraid Of Them As They're Nothing But A Pack Of Cards...
Returning To Her Original Size As She Runs, Alice Eventually Trips And Falls Which Leads Her To Find Herself Back Home...
Now, This Is Where Things Get Interesting...
Entering Her House, She Finds Nobody There But Hearing And Seeing Her Cat Dinah On The Other Side Of The Mirror, Along With Her Parents Who Can't See Or Hear Alice But Their Own Reflections, Alice Can't Figure Out How To Get Through The Mirror...
So, She Sits In The Chair And Reads A Poem Called Jabberwocky Which Is About A Scary Monster But Getting Very Scared As She Reads It The Room Becomes Dark And The Jabberwocky Appears In The House...
You Know, I Once Saw A Video By James Rolfe (The Angry Video Game Nerd) And He Said That This Scene Scared Him As A Child To The Point He Was In Tears...
Saying That You Spend The Last Half Hour Looking At These Actors In Goofy Costumes Where This Thing Is Huge And Scary Compared To Alice...
Of Course, He Also Said That No Other Scene With The Jabberwocky Tops This Scene In Part 1 Which I Kindly Disagree With As There Are 2 That Could Possibly Be Scary...
To Be Continued...
Tomorrow...

How Winnie The Pooh in Kingdom Hearts Basically Foreshadows The Beginning And Ending Of Each Main Title Game in The Series
I woke up in a cold sweat over this, but suddenly it all makes sense. Despite being a mini-world (that's completely optional in both KH1 and KH2), it isn't just a moment of relaxation for Sora. It also tells you exactly what's going to happen in the main plot. Here's my proof:
In Kingdom Hearts 1, Sora is sucked into the book by surprise and meets Pooh Bear shortly after. He sits down and talks to the bear, who reveals that he is all alone in the book and has no idea where all his friends went. Once Sora leaves the book, Merlin gives him the task of finding all the missing pages. In doing so, Pooh is reunited with his friends. Pooh is still a bit sad, however, because Sora is now his friend but has to leave. Sora promises that they will meet again, and appears on the cover of the book next to Pooh.
Tumblr media
In the main plot of the story, Sora is going through the same issue. Feeling an immense amount of loneliness because he lost his two best friends: Riku and Kairi. But by completing his mission in sealing all the keyholes, he's reunited with them briefly. After sealing the Door To Darkness, however, he gets separated from Riku and Kairi again. He vows to Kairi that he will return, and promises himself that he will also find Riku.
In Kingdom Hearts 2, Sora finally goes to revisit Pooh and his friends in the book. But after a skirmish with the Heartless, the book is damaged and once again, pages get ripped out.
Tumblr media
Sora checks in immediately after defeating the Heartless, but finds that Pooh has lost his memory of all his friends, including Sora. After finding the pages, though, Pooh's memory is restored. Pooh is happy that he got to see Sora again after all this time, even though he ends up leaving again. But it's fine, because Sora tells Pooh that their hearts are connected. They won't ever really be apart. The damage on the cover of the book is fixed, showing Pooh beside Sora again.
Tumblr media
This connects with how Kairi and almost everyone else (aside from Riku) forgot that Sora even existed as he slept in the mansion with Donald and Goofy. But once all the pieces of his memory were restored by joining with Roxas, Kairi remembers Sora again. Later on, Sora is moved to the point of crying because he finally finds Riku after all this time. And at the very end of the game when Sora and Riku are trapped in the Realm Of Darkness, it's their connection to Kairi that leads them back home.
This is where the most interesting part of the series comes in: Kingdom Hearts 3. Sora, Donald, and Goofy go to Twlight Town after recieving an urgent message from Chip and Dale about Merlin and the book. They find Merlin, who shows them that on the cover of the book, Sora is missing.
Tumblr media
Sora goes in to investigate and finds that everything is still normal. He helps Pooh out with tending to Rabbit's garden and collecting honey. After that, Pooh asks Sora why he suddenly went away. Sora reiterates that they're still connected through their hearts, and he'll always be there. Sora does sense something unusual, however: that his connection with Pooh has weakened. Sora has no idea why and this worries him. Despite this, he reappears on the cover next to Pooh as usual. He tells Merlin that he doesn't want to lose any of his friends after this.
In the end, all of Sora's friends do return. He brings back Kairi from death as well, but at the expense of his own life. Now Sora is lost somewhere deep in the the sleeping worlds, along with Riku.
But. Considering how he reappeared on the book beside Pooh again...I think it's safe to assume that he isn't gone forever. Sora may just pull it off and come back.
But this is just a theory. Nomura may have another trick up his sleeve. All we can do now is wait and see what happens next.

Darkwing Duck and Imprinting
I am someone who constantly thinks about the moment that Gosalyn Mallard imprints on her father. About the idea that she most likely came from a bad home where she’d imprinted on people who weren’t particularly kind of parental.
How she’d been thrust into a second home, imprinting on her grandfather before having him disappear.
Baby ducks traditionally imprint once. That’s it. They see someone, they latch. THere’s a connection, and they live it out through the rest of their days.
She’s lost three. Her mother (uncaring). Her father (unfeeling). Her grandfather (gone; gone too soon).
The woman at the orphanage may have even said that to Drake as he finished signing the last of the papers. Leaning in closer, patting his hand, motioning to the other room where Gosalyn sat, arguing with another child over the coolness of Darkwing Duck.
“You... you can’t expect her to attach,” Mrs. Cavanaugh whispered, as kindly as she could manage. “She’s been through quite a lot. I don’t have the files, but I’m sure she’ll tell you herself. One day.”
“I didn’t expect her...” he swallows. Because in a way, he had expected her to do that. “I won’t,” he reaffirms, trying his best to keep sadness at bay. Is that what that was? Sadness? He shook it back and initialed besides his social security number. “We’ll figure it out as we go.”
Mrs. Cavanaugh nodded. “Thank you for understanding. The chances of her imprinting again- it’s rare to see a duckling her age do it more than once. I’m not sure a fourth-”
“It’s fine,” he cut her off, not sure if he could hear more.
This was to be his daughter. He wouldn’t get angry over her inability to form some sort of inseparable thing that he thought would come as quickly as he wanted. She’d been through enough, and having pressure from him over something silly like that wouldn’t help her in the slightest. So he sucked it up and finished signing.
He doesn’t expect it.
But neither does she.
She’ll be staring at her ceiling on a Sunday night, dreading school the next day, when she heard her father from outside the door. Shuffling around, she could hear the sounds of folding laundry. The little shhp as he placed one of her shirts on top of a pile. The smell of those pancakes she loved was finding its way up the stairs. He always made them at night and froze them. A quicker way to get her out the door, since she seemed to take all the time in the world if only it meant holding off of school for a few seconds more.
Her posters on the wall, her baseball alarm clock, the chest of costumes, the wall of her favorite comic books. All of it, stuffed into a room in a home he wouldn’t have bought had it not been for her.
He’d hung pictures of her all over the house. There was one of them on his bedside table. Another on hers. The two of them, together, in every bit of everything had and was and-
She was happy. More than happy? She was-
She might even resist it, at first. People leave. That’s what they do. That’s what they’ve been conditioned to do. To go. To put her down and turn away and walk and walk and walk while she stands behind and screams as loud as she can. Her entire existence had been built on the platform of screaming into silences until the forgotten had eaten her up whole.
She can’t do it again.
She shouldn’t.
She can’t.
She won't
...
She does.
She might just stare. She might sit in the dark and the quiet. Or, more likely, she might just burst into tears. Alone. In the pitch. Until the door opens and her father is there, kneeling, asking her what’s wrong, and she can’t explain that there’s so much pure, unfiltered, raw, terrible love that she feels she might burst or die or do both if they were pulled apart. That she’s felt it before, with three other parents, and they’d all gone. That she can’t do it again, but here she is, all over, repeating some sick pattern that dooms her each time.
That she wants, more than anything, to be this. To have this.
And that the fear of losing it is greater, but the tie is stronger, and she’s knotted up so tight she can’t rightly breathe.
So instead, she says: “don’t go?”
And he says: “never.” in that voice he uses that’s part confusion, part adoration, part absolute terror.
He holds her, and she fists his sweater and presses her forehead into his chest and stays like that as long as she needs to. “Don’t go, too,” she’d whisper, and he’d kiss her head and tell her that she’s being absolutely ridiculous and come on, let’s go get something to drink.
They drink hot chocolate in the kitchen until her hiccups subside, and then he leads her back to bed, tucks her in, and turns off the light. “Love you, Gos.”
“Love you too, dad.”
“... You’re not getting off of school tomorrow.”
“Rats.”
Oddly, Drake Mallard gets it. It wasn’t long before that he accidentally felt the invisible but all to real tie twang into place. He’d done his best to sever it. She didn’t need that. She didn’t need him to put the pressure of an imprint on her. The best parents and children had them, sure, but she’d been someone else’s child and he was getting into this whole parenting thing late, so it was silly for it to be there, and he should just ignore it.
Except he couldn’t ignore it. And he couldn’t wash it away.
And it wouldn’t be long before he’d sighed and given up.
These two are such absolute dorks. I love them both. Because at one point or another, there’s going to be the realization that she’s imprinted again. And Drake’s going to make such a deal over it with his Barista at Canard Coffee. School boy squealing over how his daughter imprinted on him.
And the Barista is going to say “uh huh” and hand him his coffee. “Yeah, but you know that’s like... normal, right?”
“Yeah! But she imprinted on me!”
“Cool. You want whip on that?”
“ME!”
Drake is incredibly proud of his parenting.
Side note: The Single Dads Club never hears the end of this. And by Single Dads club I do mean it’s one member. And by one member I mean Donald Duck. Who’s done this whole imprinting thing so really it’s old news.

This scene is 100% better with the full thing. Especially the ending.
Look at the boys go! Look at them working together!

@hotemperament look!! Whenever I rewatch this scene all I can imagine is Don and in a situation where they have to act like they hate each other in front of bad guys. And it has to be super convincing so Scrooge is just like ‘quick! punch me in the face!’ and then they actually start fighting bc of pent up agression and all that
Bonus:
Donald: “If ya wanna remember, Uncle Scrooge, I was a soldier, I killed people!”
Scrooge: “Ye were a window washer!”
Donald: “I HAD BAD DAYS!”
