When you have to study but you don't want to or you don't have the motivation I recommend making your space cozy and comfortable if you can, not if you are in a public library but if you are studying at home you could light a candle and get your favorite drink or snack and put on your favorite relaxing music and turn on your led lights if you have them. I find this always improves my motivation when I don't want to study or do homework.

If you have a desk at home DO NOT clutter it with décor or pens and pencils or books or plants this will not be practical or efficient for studying IF YOU HAVE A DESK DRAWER USE IT!!!!! keep your desk top as empty as possible unless you like me have a desk with a shelf attached but still keep the working space clear because if your desk is cluttered with unnecessary items it will make studying harder as you will not have space for your books and your computer and you will not be able to write notes comfortably you will be in an uncomfortable position and you will end up frustrated and ultimately you will not study to the best of your ability, on my personal desk (not the one in the photo) I have plenty of workspace and I still have cute décor without it being impractical. I recommend having a maximum of 3 décor items on your desk for example a lamp, a clock and a candle

To help with studying I recommend colour coding and highlighting your notes to accentuate the important points and details in your notes.

Study Tip #3
Listening to music while studying or doing assignments can be helpful to drown out background noise that could be distracting however the music that you choose to listen to could also be distracting if it has a lot of lyrics because if you are reading while also listening to the words in a song you could get the words mixed up and it would make the studying process more difficult, when studying I recommend listening to music that is just instrumental, I recommend Lofi fruits music : https://open.spotify.com/artist/1dABGukgZ8XKKOdd2rVSHM?si=nLMCfhPuSc-1nDLL_M9Big

Study Tip #2 Biology & Chemistry
For anyone taking bio or chem I recommend purchasing transparent sticky notes so that you can trace diagrams out of the textbook to put into your personal study notes I got mine from amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/Transparent-Translucent-Self-Stick-Waterproof-Reminder/dp/B09SL8S3QZ/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=clear%2Bsticky%2Bnotes&qid=1693146701&sr=8-5&th=1 I recommend getting a pack with different sizes as the diagrams will vary in size and shape

Study Tip #1
If you have multiple classes to study for follow this study schedule (4 classes) if you have 2 classes to study for follow this template but switch class 3 to class 1 and class 4 to class 2.
Organize each of your class binders and notebooks into piles for each class
20 minutes class 1
5 minute break
20 minutes class 2
5 minute break
20 minutes class 3
5 minute break
20 minute class 4
Repeat as necessary until all class work gets completed and you feel confident in your knowledge of the subject.
REMEMBER TO TAKE BREAKS AND DONT BE TOO HARD ON YOURSELF YOU ARE LEARNING AND GROWING IF YOU DONT UNDERSTAND THE MATERIAL DONT BE SCARED TO ASK OR SEARCH UP ALTERNATE METHODS OF DOING A CERTAIN SUBJECT.
