This is so niche but I was watching one of the law and order crossovers with homicide: life on the street and the homicide detectives really are assholes and I love them so much. At one point Lenny tells pembelton that he doesn’t like him and frank is like “well that brings tears to my eyes” and just slams the door and bailiss is just trying to get with Claire the assistant the entire time. Homicide will always be superior.

I think we need to tell Christians “it’s not a good time to be Christian right now” or “Easter? Do you go east?” or “you’re my first Christian friend” or “I couldn’t tell you were Christian. You’re not like the rest of them you act normal” just to see how they react as a form of revenge (idc what religion you are im sure you’ve experienced something like this)

I know this is a weird Passover and I have a lot of conflicting feelings about celebrating it this year but just remember that the Israeli government does not speak for all Jews across the world, so just keep calling for ceasefire.

Now, in order to lighten my mood in a Passover related story, when I was in 8th grade, I successfully convinced my English teacher to excuse me from all of my assignments over not just Passover, but all Jewish holidays. Having had some time with ttpd I have some more nuanced thoughts please don’t come for me this is just me working through my feelings:

Is this her best work? NO. Far from it. It is nowhere near the triumph of 1989 or folklore.

For me, this is a perfect evaluation of her brain. Is it the best musically? Not necessarily. Is it the best NARRATIVE ALBUM we’ve got since red? Absolutely. I think this is a weird ass album that will have a fan favorite legacy, similarly to reputation, or even evermore.

We love jack. We do. I love jack. Bleachers rules and I’m so happy we get him and Taylor and so many other artists feel safe and comfortable recording with him. But for the love of god, can we please have someone else producing? I think part of the reason why this album feels janky at places is due to the production. We need to get her a new producer.

I think there’s an incredible one hour album on this thing. Part of the problem for me personally is that there is no “bad song.” There’s no ME! on the album, but instead a lot of songs that are fine. Editing exists for a reason.

Will this album create discourse that no one wants? Absolutely. Just because this album is not a 5 star masterpiece does not mean she is a “bad artist” or a “failure” which is what one side (mostly straight white men the literal worst thing on this earth) is trying to say. On the other hand, this album is not perfect. That doesn’t mean anything though. Things can be messy.

Don’t go picking fights on the internet. That’s my final plea.
