She lives there now.
(Don't make the mistake of thinking she is stuck. She's exactly where she wanted to be. It's my fault for not letting her climb even higher and retreat into the mountain fully, which is her dream.)

Gaze upon my wild child. She has never met a hill she hasn't wanted to go up.

Re: Knight Terrors - Robin #2
There is so much here I could talk about, it's hard to even pick/ decide where to start. I guess I'll just say this up front: I really didn't like the first issue, and while I still have some minor gripes with this second one, it was overarchingly damn good and I'm ridiculously excited that Tim and Jason were finally allowed again to have an interaction that makes sense for them, given their past history. It's been 84 years I swear.
Now without further ado:
1)
The way they see themselves and each other.
Tumblr media
This excerpt goes perfectly with a different post I was working on, talking about what happened at Titans Tower.
Tumblr media
(Jason narrating, referring to Tim; Teen Titans 2003 #29)
Tim chronically suffers from imposter syndrome. He's constantly doubting himself. But Jason has always believed, known, that Tim is good at what he does. And over time his conviction in regards to it has only grown stronger. Jason's high opinion of Tim's capabilities is actually part of the reason he was so hurt about being "replaced" by Tim, specifically.
Tumblr media
(Jason talking to Tim during Robin War; Red Hood/Arsenal 2015 #7)
Jason has always seen Tim as better than himself. All the while Tim has struggled to feel capable of living up to Jason's legacy. But Tim still took up the mantle because he cared and he had to try. And Jason recognizes that.
Tumblr media
(Tim talking at a portrait of Jason, Secret Origins 2014 #3)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Red Hood/Arsenal 2015 #37)
Tumblr media
(Red Hood and the Outlaws 2011 #8)
In summary for this section: Tim and Jason tend to think lowly of themselves, but highly of each other. There's mutual respect and understanding. That's at the very core of their relationship and Knight Terrors showcases that beautifully.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
2)
Another great thing about their dynamic that gets shown off in this issue is that they make a damn good team and enjoy working together.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
throughout the issue
Tumblr media
(Tim narrating, Teen Titans 2011 #16)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(We are Robin 2015 #7)
3)
Last but not least, we get some delightfully, painfully, tender moments.
Tumblr media
Jason wishes for someone to count on. And Tim is right there for him. Which gets heavily doubled down on at the end of the issue:
Tumblr media
Tim is always ready to work with Jason, to lend a hand, to be there for him-
Tumblr media
- and Jason trusts Tim with his life.
Which, speaking of life...
Tumblr media
After waking up, Jason tries to get in contact with Tim and when he can't, we see how devastate he is, thinking something went wrong. Ouch.
In conclusion: I was worried going in, with DC's track record lately, but I can happily say I was beyond pleasantly surprised. This feels like a return to form, and I pray we'll get more content featuring these two in the near future. If you haven't checked it out yourself yet, I highly recommend reading this issue.
Thanks for listening <3 I know this was a lot hah

Sorry if this isn’t the place for this kind of ask, but I need to talk to somebody who isn’t going to shout a slogan at me.
I’ve kinda lost hope that a better world is coming. I think humans are too selfish to let it happen, and we’re gonna wipe ourselves out before we make any real progress.
Have you ever felt that way, and how do you stop it?
So, first off: every generation of human beings has believed that the end was nigh, and we were surely on the brink of destruction. And every generation was right. The world is always ending for someone.
And yet here we are.
I felt pretty hopeless about the world when I was younger. I don't know how old you are, friend, but I will say that it's easy to feel like the world is uniquely horrible when you're young, and that's due in no small part to a lack of lived experience. Like, you think things are bad right now? Within my lifetime, homosexual sex was illegal in parts of the US. Now, my non-binary ass can get testosterone in the mail, covered by insurance, with a co-pay of $10. This IS the better world, friend. It's improved so much just in the time that I've been in it. Yes, there are terrible things happening, but I can categorically say that some parts of it are way better than it was when I was young.

stele, given the absolute fuckery going on in the world today (and in our own goddamn country) how do you maintain your sanity/hope?
Limit your doomscrolling. If you find yourself feeling helpless and hopeless, get off Twitter/Tumblr/whatever.
Do something for your community. It can be as small as picking up one piece of trash a day, or helping a neighbor carry groceries from their car to their door. A tiny bit of help provided to another human being is more meaningful than 100 online posts about Palestine or Ukraine or anything else. (Which reminds me, I’ve got to schedule my next blood donation…)
Discipline yourself to see small joys. This is something that honestly will take years to properly learn; I was lucky enough to be taught this by my wife, @completeutterwonderfulnonsense, who seems to come by it naturally. She doesn’t just notice a cute dog, she comments on the cute dog, lingers on it, takes pictures of it, shows me or her parents the pictures. So I started to look for cute dogs that I could show to her. Suddenly the world was full of cute dogs, and a world full of cute dogs isn’t so bad. Basically, you will find what you look for in the world, and if you look for joy and hope, you’ll find it.

GOD your poor neck and shoulders. FYI, I do strongly recommend getting a custom-made corset if you can afford one. Hanging all that weight from your shoulders constantly, even with a bra, probably causes so much tension in your posterior lower neck, right around C7.
Tumblr media
Had a 'fun' new experience today in the form of my first ever mammogram because I found a lump on my chest a few weeks ago, and when you find a lump, you get that shit checked out.
Ironically, the lump I went to get investigated turned out to be nothing, likely just a cyst that made its way to the surface, but they did find something else on the scan that requires me to do a follow-up ultrasound in six months. The doctor stressed that it is most likely a fibroid, but given my family history of breast cancer and general weird health fuckery, they're being vigilant and keeping an eye on it.
The mammogram itself was fine. The technician doing it kept complimenting me on the "pliable" nature of my breast tissue and how easy it was to smoosh me into the machine. I was like thanks, I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome; my body is basically made of only slightly more reinforced laffy taffy.
She said, "That explains that," and then proceeded to smush my tits into a pancake. Apparently, they were the most compliant tits she's worked with. I said thank you because what else can you do in that situation. And then she asked me if I wanted to know how much they weighed, and I said boy, do I?!
So she started reading off the results and was like, "17.7 lbs," and I was like, gosh, no wonder they feel so heavy, and then she kept talking and said, "And the other one weighs..."
And that's when I realized she didn't mean total.
She meant one boob was 17.7lbs.
So in case you've ever wanted to know, my right boob weighs 17.7 lbs, and my left one weighs 17.3 lbs, bringing the grand weight hanging off my chest to an even 35 lbs.
The tech was like "gosh! That's a lot for someone of your size!" and I was like "ya fucking think?!"
For a frame of reference, I weigh 136 lbs total. One-quarter of my weight is tits.
I am one-quarter titty.
And I'm telling that to the next doctor who suggests I lose weight.
Anyway. Remember to do regular breast exams, and don't be afraid of mammograms. Yes, they're checking for cancer, but they also tell you fun things like how much your chest weighs and whether or not your boobs are compliant.

Peace be upon you Jews of Jumblr!
With the rise of antisemitism, and one of my favorite things about my Muslim faith being zakat(prescribed charity giving), what are some charities you would like me to give to in these trying times?
I've seen plenty of places to donate to help Palestinians, but I haven't seen anything to help any of you Jews that are facing antisemitism as backlash to all of this.
Forgive me if it has passed, but I know it's around Passover(I believe that's the holiday going on right around now?) And I'm sure there are Synagogues or Jewish charities that could use some donations.(at least I think. I know that Churches and Christian charities take donations around Christmas and Easter.)
I'd truly like to help all who are affected by this war. Whether it be Isreali Jews in Isreal, or diaspora Jews(I think that's the term? What I mean is, Jews who do not live in Isreal) who are struggling with increased antisemitism.
No charity is too niche, though I may not be able to donate to all of them, as I am on SSDI(a form of disability) so it's not like I have hundreds or thousands to throw around. But I know that anything can help.
Love, your friendly disabled queer Muslim with all the questions.

Conversation between me, and another high educated Jewish women whose opinions I respect
Her: What's missing here are the facts. If we stuck to the facts there wouldn't be so much intensity surrounding this issue. Me: But you and I are both highly educated Jewish women, and we can't even agree on the facts regarding the history of Palestine as a place name, ethnic identifier, and nation. If we can't even agree on those facts, how on earth can facts help anyone move forward?
There's the question. Not just for Jews, but for everyone involved in, or concerned with this conflict. How do we move forward if multiple sides of the room dispute the veracity of such basic statements as:
-Jews are a globally oppressed minority ethnic group, the hatred of which is deeply embedded in Western thought and rhetoric.
-The Naqba was a period of ethnic cleansing in which the government and military of the new State of Israel expelled Palestinian Arabs from their homes and property; a dispossession and a series of events which continue to traumatize and negatively impact the lives and livelihoods of Palestinians.
-The Holocaust was a traumatic event in the history of the Jewish people, the legacy of which is embedded in the psyches, world views, and collective trauma of the Jewish people, and invariably impacts how this group views global issues.
-Palestinian Arabs had a full developed sense of identity and statehood before the British Empire fucked off, and made their discomfort with increasing Jewish emigration clear to the British before the outbreak of the Second World War.
-Jews had nowhere to go before, during, or really, after the Holocaust; and the governments of many Arab States ethnically cleaned their own ancient Jewish communities in retribution for the creation of the State of Israel.
-The State of Israel does not exist because the Holocaust happened, or as an "apology" for said event.
THIS POST COMPRISES A SERIES OF RHETORICAL QUESTIONS MEANT TO MAKE US APPRECIATE THE DEPTHS OF THE DISCURSIVE PROBLEMS HERE; NOT A POST FOR "DISCOURSE" AND HATEFUL, AGGRESSIVE SHIT.
If you feel you have to do that, copy & paste into your own separate post.

Oh yeah. To be very, very clear, a lot of the student protests have been virulently antisemitic. Which hopefully people understand because they actually click on the headlines I provide to read the stories...right?
In case they haven't:
Reports of harassment of Jewish students began surfacing on social media on Saturday night. One video posted on X, formerly Twitter, showed a masked protester outside the university's gates appearing to chant: "Go back to Poland!" Another video showed a man telling Jewish students outside the campus gates that "the 7th of October is going to be every day for you." Chabad at Columbia University, a chapter of an international Orthodox Jewish movement, said on social media that people hurled expletives at Jewish students on Columbia's campus on Saturday night, and told them to "go back to Europe" and "all you do is colonize." The organization also said it had hired armed guards to chaperone students as they make their way home. The reports prompted a rabbi at Columbia to send a message to Jewish students, urging them to leave campus for their own safety. Rabbi Elie Buechler said it was clear that Columbia and New York police "cannot guarantee Jewish students' safety in the face of extreme antisemitism and anarchy."
To also be clear, I don't support these protests being broken up by police. ACAB all the time, not just when they're attacking people I agree with. BUT I, personally, condemn any protest that targets Jewish students and makes them feel unsafe in their communities, and openly advocates for the rape and murder of civilians.
Fuck the protestors at Columbia University. Either you are perpetuating the antisemitism or you are fine with the people perpetuating antisemitism that lead your movement.

(i'm sorry if this doesn't make sense, it's late, but i just realized a lot of this recently and i needed to put it into words so i hope you don't mind)
i've been thinking recently and while i don't mind fics with lazarus pit madness (or lazarus pit side-effects that basically amount to uncontrollable rage or violent blackouts, etc) if they are written well and the madness is handled in an interesting way, i've recently taken to mostly avoiding them because — well first of all so many of them are about tim, which. sometimes i want to read a jason fic that's actually about jason. anyway,, — i've realized that a lot of the time the "lazarus pit madness" is used to excuse everything jason has done since he was dunked. it's the reason he kills now, it's the reason he cut off those heads, it's the reason he beat tim bloody in titan's tower, etc.
instead of letting jason be a character who has his own morals, different and not what is usually considered "acceptable" as they may be, instead of exploring how they influence how he does things as the red hood, or how his own morals, his unique code affects his relationships with the batfam, he's just sort of… flat? he's made into basically nothing but a walking wall of seething green that's easily triggered and makes his black out with rage and is to blame for every violent thing he does — he is given no responsibility for his actions. and i've found that a lot of these fics end with the pit madness either somehow being done away with or at least being dealt with and then jason is back with his family happily ever after completely exonerated because it's not his fault, he didn't make those decisions, the pit did
i just,,, what about a jason who is aware of his actions? what about a jason who has thought things through and decided what kind of person he was going to make himself into? what about a jason who looked his trainers in the eye and knew he was going to kill them, who makes a plan and follows through, who didn't have to cut off those heads but he had a statement to make and maybe cutting them off was awful and horrible no matter that he decided they deserved to die but he did it because it needed done? and he's fully aware of what he's doing, he is responsible for his actions and any consequences. and he's going to do whatever he's going to do anyway. i think he's a much more interesting character that way
You 🤝 Me. Let’s be best friends. We can start a fan club, the let-Jason-have-his-autonomy club. I’ll be treasurer (fair warning, I plan to blow our budget on Red Hood stickers).
In all seriousness, yes, this, exactly this. I read a ton of these fics when I first got into the fandom, and I still enjoy a good pit madness fic from time to time, but nowadays I tend to want so much more for Jason.
For whatever reason, I think there’s a lot of “fast” fanfiction (as in the idea of “fast fashion”) written about Jason. It leans hard into a popular trope, hits those hurt/comfort vibes with a wrecking ball, and usually ends up absolutely nerfing Jason.
Writing a Jason who’s resolute in his mission and his methods, a Jason who is balanced and believable, is hard. Writing that kind of Jason and getting him to authentically reconcile with the Bats without sacrificing his autonomy is miles past hard. Reading that kind of Jason, staring uncomfortable truths in the face, that can also be hard. It’s not for everyone, and that’s okay (*grumbles unhappily*).
Thanks so much for the ask, anon, and for sharing your thoughts with me. 💙💙💙

Astarion literally preys upon you in your sleep. Will literally kill you if you fail the checks to stop him. Nothing about Astarion is not predatory.
...on the other hand, some BG3 fans have VERY fucked up ideas about who counts as Masculine and therefore MUST be a threat and sexually aggressive regardless of how they actually act, and who counts as Feminine and therefore CAN'T be a threat regardless of how they act.

So somebody shared this article in a discord server I'm in (I say "shared", I mean "someone just said it happened and I had to search for the article myself") and everyone instantly assumed that the IDF did it, and wouldn't hear a word edgewise.
I really hate that this is where we are now
Ugh. Thanks for the article.
It does so clearly demonstrate the fact that Hamas and their allies don’t give a shit about saving Palestinian civilians or securing them aid.

The nazis that you see in movies are as much a historical fantasy as vikings with horned helmets and samurai cutting people in half.
The nazis were not some vague evil that wanted to hurt people for the sake of hurting them. They had specific goals which furthered a far right agenda, and they wanted to do harm to very specific groups, (largely slavs, jews, Romani, queer people, communists/leftists, and disabled people.)
The nazis didn't use soldiers in creepy gas masks as their main imagery that they sold to the german people, they used blond haired blue eyed families. Nor did they stand up on podiums saying that would wage an endless and brutal war, they gave speeches about protecting white Christian society from degenerates just like how conservatives do today.
Nazis weren't atheists or pagans. They were deeply Christian and Christianity was part of their ideology just like it is for modern conservatives. They spoke at lengths about defending their Christian nation from godless leftism. The ones who hated the catholic church hated it for protestant reasons. Nazi occultism was fringe within the party and never expected to become mainstream, and those occultists were still Christian, none of them ever claimed to be Satanists or Asatru.
Nazis were also not queer or disabled. They killed those groups, before they had a chance to kill almost anyone else actually. Despite the amount of disabled nazis or queer/queer coded nazis you'll see in movies and on TV, in reality they were very cishet and very able bodied. There was one high ranking nazi early on who was gay and the other nazis killed him for that. Saying the nazis were gay or disabled makes about as much sense as saying they were Jewish.
The nazis weren't mentally ill. As previously mentioned they hated disabled people, and this unquestionably included anyone neurodivergent. When the surviving nazi war criminals were given psychological tests after the war, they were shown to be some of the most neurotypical people out there.
The nazis weren't socialists. Full stop. They hated socialists. They got elected on hating socialists. They killed socialists. Hating all forms of lefitsm was a big part of their ideology, and especially a big part of how they sold themselves.
The nazis were not the supervillians you see on screen, not because they didn't do horrible things in real life, they most certainly did, but because they weren't that vague apolitical evil that exists for white American action heros to fight. They did horrible things because they had a right wing authoritarian political ideology, an ideology that is fundamentally the same as what most of the modern right wing believes.
