COFFEE? x kim sunwoo (tbz)
"Another early morning I see," The curly haired barista sent you a empathic smile. He worked quickly but detailed and after barely a minute your coffee was done. You nodded and sighed while leaning onto the counter. "You okay?"
"I think I might collapse one day, but so far I'm alright I guess," You took the coffee from him and sat down at the nearest table so that you could still communicate with the boy without him having to run across the cafe. "Your amazing coffee helps me get through it."
The barista smiled and you thought you saw his ears shade a light pink, you weren't sure though. Maybe the extreme working pressure was finally getting to your head. Who knows? "Do you go to college? Or is that too personal?" You asked him. He quickly shook his head and looked around to see the cafe being practically empty (I mean it was 6:30 in the morning, normal people would only be waking up now).
"I go to night sessions at my college, it's very convenient. I can work all day, then I go eat dinner and start classes," You listened to his story but didn't notice him sitting across from you until he paused. "They do end late though, so I usually get tired afterwards. Sucks having to do homework then too, at like 3 in the morning."
"What?!" You yelled out a bit too loud. The two other people in the cafe looked at you shocked but the barista quickly let them know everything was okay. "Sorry. But seriously what? That can't be healthy, you are here every morning at 6, how much sleep do you get?"
"Hm, on a good day probably a little over two hours I'd say." You felt some sense of worry wash over your entire body. This cute, sweet, caring barista must be exhausted. "It's okay though, I've never been much of a long sleeper so I can deal with it pretty well. I also take naps during my breaks."
"How many people work here? I only see you," The boy squinted his eyes in thought and while he was counting in his head you admired his features. His big brown eyes that looked like chocolate, his plump lips that never failed to distract you when you made small talk in the mornings, his long eyelashes that made him look like an innocent deer and his sharp facial bones that made him look like he was shaped by the gods.
"Like four, I think," His words pulled you from your trance and he blinked at you. His closed lips from a small smile and you pinched yourself for zoning out on him like that. He spoke again softly, like he was talking to himself but you could hear every word. "Yeah, I'd say four including me. I mean as far as I know we got Eric, Changmin and Chanhee but they usually come during the afternoon and the weekends so that's why you've never seen them before. Just me."
"Well I'll have to stop by at their times too then, soon," His smile fell and you frowned. "I'd like to meet your co-workers, see if they can make better coffee than you." You let out a small laugh and saw the boy in front of you relieve a small giggle too. "I don't think they can though, your coffee is special. I'd even go as far as calling it magical."
"Magical? That's a bit too much don't you think?" He laughed awkwardly and scratched his neck. Cute. You shook your head and took a sip of your coffee. Closing your eyes you took in the warmth of the drink and the amazing flavor you ordered at this same cafe, same barista, same time every morning. Like no other.
"No it's not, do you know how good this is? It keeps me alive," You thought about something for a second and then proceeded to push the cup into his hands. "Here, you deserve to taste your own amazing coffee. I bet you will feel way better once you've drank even a little bit."
"Really? You're going to make me drink my own coffee?" You nodded and motioned for him to move on and take a sip. He shook his head but then leaned down and drank the coffee. After a few moments, and him drinking more of the caffeine filled drink, he looked up at you and smiled again. "Maybe you're right, this is really good. Wow I am so talented, now I get why you come here every morning."
He teased but you were just smiling at him, he has the most beautiful laugh. "That's not even the most important reason I come here," You didn't realize you said that out loud until you got a raised eyebrow from the boy. He put down the coffee and gave you space to keep talking. "I mean I do come here to get coffee but..."
"But...?" He frowned. You started panicking, not knowing what to tell him. How do you tell someone whose name you don't even know that you think you like him? You don't. So why did you do exactly that?
"I like you."
The shock on the boy's face was readable from miles away and you weren't sure what to do. He didn't say anything he just looked at you in slight confusion. "You what?"
"I'm sorry I told you that, this is probably very weird, plus I don't even know your name so I don't know why I confessed to that. I will just leave now, I'm so sorry."
"Sunwoo, my name's Kim Sunwoo. And I hope you will stay and tell me your name too, I want you to know I usually don't go sitting around with my guests. I guess I like you too."
Your heart skipped a million beats and you felt your face heat up at his words. Oh my god. This can't be happening, this must be my imagination. But after what might have been twenty rapid blinks he was still sitting in front of you. Kim Sunwoo, he was still there and it wasn't a dream.
"This is insane," Sunwoo laughed. "You're insane, I can't believe you just said that."
"You confessed too, like two seconds after I did so I don't see the insanity coming from just me, Sunwoo."
You both smiled and shook your heads in disbelief of the current situation. Neither of you two had woken up this morning thinking you'd confess your (not so) little crush on each other, but here you are.
"Would you like to come meet me during my break?" Sunwoo asked softly.
"I'd love to."
