“Anything for my favorite sobrina.” He said teasingly. He called all of his nieces and nephews his favorite, but Mirabel liked to think that there was a little more truth behind it when he said it to her.
“...I got a part in the school play.” She said, blushing. “And.. Señora Espinoza needs some volunteers. They’re taking more money from the arts this year, and she needs some extra help. I know you work from home, so im really hoping you can go help out.” She said. His face twisted nervously, and he knocked on his wooden desk a few times.
“Um.. like, go there and help out..? I don’t know, sobrina..” He said, rubbing the back of his neck
