DITHERING!!

What is that, you may ask? Well, its the use of white/black dots in a pattern to make something look a different colour or have a different effect. If you zoom in on my art, you'll notice that certain effects have different dithering styles to obtain different things. With my fresno funk piece, the different shapes are probablt the best examples. Some i used a grid dot, some used stripes in horizontal, diagonal or vertical fashion, some i spaced differently. these all achieve different things. Diag. stripes are what i used to shade the bottom of the ufo while dot/space/dot gave the moon its glow, with some break up here and there to achieve swirls or dust.

This is really the most i can give you for advice. practice different dithering styles to figure out the effect you want. qlso, from my experience, the smallest brush size is your best friend and you have more ease of movement with your switch undocked and using touch pad, but using the joy cons can give you more precise painting. Really, your best friend will be time. The ufo took me around 45 minutes and the fresnos were about thirty. remember the more intensive, the more time it will take. also remember to save. as "embarrassing" for unfinished art to go up, but unfinished and saved is better than unfinished but youre almooossttt done-and the game crashed. all in all, theres probably stuff online that tell you what to put where and blow up your image like a grid or smth, but i find freehanding with touchpad and then cleaning up with the joycons and adding effects and details using the dpad works best, but thats just me.

My absolute favorite part of Splatoon 3 is like between games the squids and octos in the lobby just jumping and dancing together often not in their human forms just flopping about all silly especially on different teams just everybody having fun regardless of the side they were on. It's similar with salmon run, comradery is just so good? Everyone going booyah and dancing about at the end of a shift. Just enjoying working with eachother and congratulating eachother on finishing. It's what makes Splatoon so good for me
