I read your petermiles fic after I finished the game, but my lesbian heart can’t get too invested in a love story between men so I’ve been thinking nonstop about female petermiles! Toxic Yuri at its finest huh. How do you think they’re relationship would be like?
First of all, I want you to know I completely misread this the first time around and thought you meant Peter/Yuri and immediately went, "Toxic Yuri: 'Why would you make my girl toxic???? 😔'"
ANYWAY, I have no idea, but based on how I write Peter and Miles in my toxic AU, I'd say they'd be pretty similar to that!!! But to answer you along with this ask:
I'm not big on the genderbend stuff. I'm not interested in it at all, tbh 😅 The primary reason I write/ship Peter and Miles is because they're men. I like them as they are. They're interesting that way to me. The thought of them as women has never crossed my mind, nor will it ever. I pretty much coexist with canon and base my fics around it, and then change/discard what I don't like or what doesn't work with my world. I like my little playground rules to cement my stuff off of.
I'm... particular 😳
Plus, I'm good at what I do!!! I've written gay relationships/smut for over 10 years, I don't know what to do with vaginas (or boobs) and I honestly find the female anatomy boring— there's nothing to play around with. If I wanted to read a romance between women I'd literally look anywhere else instead of a video game based off male comic book characters. Shit, I'd just read 1610 Jessica's comics, since she's a clone of Peter and a lesbian!!! She's also super cool and has so many stories focusing on that specific aspect of her identity.
But, to finish this off, I'll just say this for the very first anon: while I'm honored that you'd be interested in my take on them, it's legit KILLING me how you really just came in my inbox and said, "I started reading your fic and I completely disregarded it immediately. I don't care about it at all. That being said, could you instead tell me your thoughts about them as toxic lesbians????" Babygirl didn't even compliment the fic or anything of the sort, she just got right to the point and that's WILD 💀💀💀
Regardless, I hope both of you are doing good and that you guys got your fix since you sent me these asks!!!! 💖💌💗

Even though I really like your main petermiles fic i would say my most favourite is the one with them being so horrible to each other, i think it’s called when i hurt you it’s just so so good, and toxic dysfunctional petermiles is literally my favourite. Hope i know how it ends.
If you scroll down two posts, you'll see a mini master list of some of my WIPs (which I assume you've already read 😅) The ending is the second part of the notes for that fic. Originally, there was going to be a bittersweet ending where Miles' dialogue wasn't slightly altered so it would convey an absence of hope. However, in a moment of weakness, I couldn't take it, I needed them to have some semblance of happiness 😭😭😭
But I like the first ending so much, that I was considering just having two versions of the ending: one totally hopeless with their relationship severed for good and one with the hope of their relationship possibly turning into real love. In the notes, the dialogue really is barely altered, but to show it anyway, this is how it originally ended:
“I already told you why this can't work. I did love you and I love you now too, but I can't do this. There's too much baggage." Miles slips on his shoes and walks towards the door. He stops at the doorway, hesitant to leave behind the one thing that ever loved him, even when it did it for all the wrong reasons. He can't take not having Peter in his life, but this is what's best for both of them. He wishes it wasn't this way, but he loves Peter and himself enough to know they both deserve better. "Delete my number and don't call me anymore. I…" Miles turns, finally looking at him and it does break his heart all over again. "Goodbye, Pete.”
Miles doesn't say he needs more time. Miles doesn't say he'll always love him. Miles doesn't say anything other than what he needs to to save his own skin from even more emotional turmoil and to crush what little hope Peter had in Miles finally returning his love (for his own good and for Miles' own sanity). He leaves Peter there crying on the bed and walks out of his life. That's it. No happy ending— not this time. They're horrible people and they don't deserve one. That's what I wanted to do.
Either way, I love writing them be fucked up, horrible, toxic, dysfunctional, borderline abusive people who don't know how to love each other... or maybe they love each other more than anyone else in the world, and that love has been poisoned. I'm so glad you enjoyed it, because (however deliciously painful it is) the fic is super fun to write!!!!! Because writing them be as fucked up as possible is honestly so, SO satisfying 🥰

do you know Love Songs on the Radio by Mojave 3? it's a 90s dream pop ballad with lyrics that are so vehemently, bone-chillingly tender. super atmospheric. It reminds me of your distinctive portraying of Petemai, incredibly lovely, aches in such a way that makes you suffer without thinking because of how eloquently it communicates nearness and fragility…
just some thoughts I had while listening; wanted to recommend that song to you. (referring to the song) Miles is the symbolic "angel" in this scenario of lovers. :( so sweet, it's almost criminal.

Omg, my goodness, y'all need to stop gassing me up 'cause a bitch is in shambles out here with all this praise.
BUT I actually don't know that song (even with how much music I listen to 😅) but before I answered this, I had it on repeat and just took it in, because it's exactly my kind of thing. The song is indeed very sweet and intimate and delicate and so so soft and gentle and unhurried and conveys such a patient and warm type of love, and the IMAGERY, and then the call-back to the way I write Miles as something gold-touched and precious— every part of this song could be applied to them and fit perfectly!!!!
“She looks just like an angel, when she walks across the room. She shines tonight, her golden light is everything I need. | My friend said she's all he needs to feel alive. | Love songs on the radio, your sweetheart lies in bed. She's dreaming of the things you said, she's hoping that it's meant.”
That's so THEM!!!!!! I could vividly see Miles lying in Peter's bed— now their bed— naked, the blanket pooled around his hips and up his stomach, keeping him covered while he lounges around, and he's almost about to fall asleep... but he's staring at Peter who's on his side, looking right back at him, the streetlights turned into fuzzy balls of light through the fogged over windows, and there's soft music playing somewhere outside and it's perfect. They're safe and in love and nothing will ever separate them again. They're finally home where they belong. They're finally together again.
Btw, sorry it took me a while to answer this, I was in the middle of writing and then answering the other asks!!! 😅 Either way, I hope you're doing well and that the new year treats you kindly— you deserve it!!!!
I'm glad you enjoy my portrayal of Peter and Miles as I always strive to make their relationship feel incredibly real and intimate, down to the way they talk to each other and then the way they behave around each other and what they do in their relationship, such as displays of affection between them.
