So it’s been a while since I posted, if you are following me for my Mayhem Achieved series, then you might just want to check out the new chapter of Fill the Gaps... that I just posted.

When I started building the world of Mayhem Achieved and writing Fill the Gaps... I was super into Buddie but a lot of things has changed dince then, now I kind of like to explore Buck/OMCs and it took a while to rewrite my story but even so I’m still working on writing more of this series...

Hi, I have no idea if this account is still active seeing as your last post was in june, but I just wanted to say that I really love your SEAL/S.W.A.T!Buck au and the idea of Buck having a team of overprotective SEAL + Danny to love and support him. Your writing is also really really great so keep up the good work!

Is this account still active you ask? Well um depends on how you define active. I still have access to this account so I haven’t totally forgotten about that WIP just yet... But on the other hand, I haven’t posted anything related to it since last August. So don’t hold your breath for an update soon but know that I’m working on it. In fact, as a thanks for the compliment, here’s a snippet of the next chapter:

"Alright, alright, everyone meet our new team member for the next three months, Evan Buckley," Hondo introduced the younger SEAL to the rest of his SWAT team gearing up in the locker room. ”Mayhem, this is Sergeant Deacon Kay, and Officers Victor Tan, Chris Alonso, and Jim Street,” the older man said pointing first to the stern-looking man with greying hair which Buck is the sergeant; then to the tall Asian, the short Latina, and a blonde young man, in quick succession.

"Mayhem?" Deacon asked, "Wait is this the SEAL brother you've always talk about?"

“Wait is he the one who blew up Taj Mahal?” the tall Asian guy, Victor asked with an amused grin, “Or the one who got high on Morphine and sang a bad rendition of Bed of Roses”

“Et tu, Hondo?” Buck mock pouted at the older man before turning to the rest of the team, “But just to clarify it was not Taj Mahal it was the Bachcha Taj and I didn’t blow it up, I would never blow up a foreign nation’s sacred temple, I just threatened to with a fake bomb.”

That’s truck 118 and this episode happened in LA so ha... now I have a basis for 118 meets Buck’s SEAL brother Luke Alvez and it was revealed to the BAU team that Garcia is actually an Alvez... hahaha secret marriage trope... Penelope Alvez is my kink... hahaha

So I’ve decided that I’ll be starting the process of taking down all my buddie WIPS...

I have four Buddie WIPs. I’m reworking Bulletproof Picasso and First Burn as Buck/OMCs... But I will no longer be continuing Treading Waters and Like A Stranger(Finally Found)... I’m giving away the notes (Outline, plot, how I wanted it to end ) I have for those two fics if anyone cares for those, I mean closure right?   

I just want to thank everyone in the Buddie fandom... you guys are awesome, but I don’t think I’ll ever go back to writing Buddie anymore. 

Character sheet for my 911 OC

Since I’m not writing Buddie at the moment, I made up another Diaz to pair Buck up  with... I’m not one to call for Eddie to be killed off in canon but I’m one to have him killed off in my own fictional world. This would be for my SWAT!Buck AU

So here I present Antonio “Deuce” Diaz!

**Character is inspired by Gabriel’s character in the short-lived series Matador, Tony Bravo. 

Antonio ‘Deuce’ Diaz (FC: Gabriel Luna, 31) - older brother of Eddie Diaz. He is popular retired-soccer player, turned newscaster, he is based in LA. It’s his covert identity, his real job is an undercover NCIS Agent working in rooting out international crime syndicates. Not even his family knew about his real job. He is the black sheep of the family having come out as gay to his devout Catholic parents at age 19. His parents are not physically abusive or overtly homophobic but they are not very accepting either. They are not very proud of his “chosen lifestyle” and in Deuce’s own words ‘they are tolerating, which is the lowest form of acceptance there is.’ After graduating highschool and coming out to his family, Antonio joined the Navy which put him on a path to becoming an NCIS agent. He played soccer in order to infiltrate LA Aztecs, a professional soccer team and bring down Aztecs’ owner, William ‘Bull’ Sumner, who was suspected of recruiting sailors to smuggle in illegal drugs and artifacts. 

When Eddie got into street fighting no one was able to pull him back, not even Lena. Buck was dealing with his own shit, as is the rest of 118. Eddie eventually  got arrested and died in prison. Unknown to anyone in the Diaz family, after Shannon died, Eddie named his older brother, Deuce as Christopher’s guardian. Upon learning about Eddie’s death, he reluctantly took custody of Christopher. He loves the kid but between juggling his double life, he barely saw Chris and he knows nothing about raising a child. But he knows the kid is better off with him considering the truth about his brother’s death. Deuce knew for a fact that his brother was targeted in prison in retaliation for Deuce bringing down Bull Sumner.  

Buck blames himself for Eddie dying and for not being there for Eddie when Eddie was suffering with his anger issues. He knows intellectually that it wasn’t his fault but having had an argument with the other man before he got arrested and died, threw his emotions for a loop. Now he don’t even get to see Chris anymore after Eddie’s estranged brother took the kid away.

Buck and Deuce crossed paths when Deuce has to loop in LAPD SWAT in to apprehend the people responsible for his brother’s death.

god every day, daniel radcliffe gives me a new reason to love him. he just put joke karen rowling on blast for her shitty-ass terf beliefs.

First of all I’d like to thank @yoshisochi for reaching out, I really appreciate those kind words...

Now I wasn’t gonna talk about this more than my post on updating people that my Buddie fics are gonna be on hold indefinitely but I can’t help but see posts saying they are still supporting Eddie Diaz because he is not the actor that play him. And what people posting that shit don’t realize is that saying that is implying that those of us who effectively quit the fandom are unloyal fans who don’t know how to differentiate between fictional characters and the actors that played them. And that may not be the intention of those posts but that’s how those posts hits us me...

It’s not that I (I’m using I because I can’t and won’t speak for anyone else but I know I’m not alone in feeling these hurt and anger)... It is not that I can’t separate Eddie Diaz from the actor that plays him. I’m not a naive summer child, I’m a grown ass adult who knows the difference between the character and the actor. What bothers me is the feeling like supporting his character is effectively supporting him too, and that’s not something I can stomach right now. I feel like doing so betrays my own ideals. Subsequently I cannot support Buddie, for similar reasons. Because as much as I say to myself that Eddie is not the actor that plays him, I cannot make myself unfeel the guilt that keeps on cropping up everytime his face pops into my head at the thought of Eddie Diaz.

And I cannot write a fic without imagining how the characters look when a certain scene is unfolding. I’ve thought recasting the character in my mind was enough but it isn’t enough because once the fic is out there it’s like the author effectively shares that creation with the readers. Most readers won’t bother with reading author’s notes much less care that the characters is recasted by the author. Hence even if it’s not my intention, that fanwork may still act as a symbolic support for an actor I wouldn’t willingly support at the moment. I don’t know if that made sense. I hope it does.

I still support 9-1-1 but really if it wasn’t for Oliver Stark supporting the cause and his blatant and consistent activism I might have dropped 9-1-1 fandom as a whole already. That’s how much those comments hurt me, that I’d willingly drop an entire fandom that kept me sane for most of 2020. Think about that while you judge me and my butthurt feelings.

On my Buddie WIPs

I’m kind of feeling hurt right now, I’m not gonna elaborate on it but you can probably guess why. So if anyone is actually waiting on update on my Buddie fics, I just want to let everyone know I’m not gonna be updating those any time soon. I don’t know how long, or if I will even get to it but I won’t be taking those down just yet...

Fill the Gaps, Stay Liquid is gonna be updated, I’m still working on that but I’m gonna keep it Buck-centric and Buddie isn’t gonna be a pairing in that universe now... 

JUST TIRED OF PEOPLE NOT APPRECIATING THE 9-1-1 WRITERS...

I was gonna reblog someone’s post but I don’t wanna hijack it and impose my opinion on someone else... I saw someone commenting 9-1-1 has bad writing in my dash, it’s because the show did not focus on Buck’s trauma and/or say something about the bad disgusting therapy session he had in season one and I just have to say something it...

It’s really unfair to hardworking writers of 9-1-1 show to call what they have done that bad writing... I mean come on they are alloted 45 mins at most (not an hour because of commericials) to tell their stories, and 18 episodes each season that’s 810 mins or about 13.5 hours... They have an ensemble cast, 8 main characters, 11 including the children, each of those cast members have their own storyline, their own drama going on in their life. The writers have to weave those in midst of telling stories involving big emergencies like tsunami, train derailment and normal everyday emergencies first responders deeal with. AND THEY HAVE ONLY 13.5 HOURS PER SEASON TO TELL ALL THOSE. Do you even know how hard it is to write within those parameters? Not to mention there’s not just one of them they are a group, it’s hard enough to write alone, try doing that and working with other writers, trying to make sure all your stories line up straight. It’s a process let me tell you not to mention they have to have those scripts be appoved by network exec or something...

9-1-1 might not have the best writing out there but it’s not bad writing... It’s called 9-1-1 not Evan Buckley’s Trauma Show, do not expect them to elaborate on his trauma alone, that’s what fanfiction is for... And short of Buck Begins, they’ve given Buck good story progression and character development... It’s in the nuance, if you look hard enough... They did deal with Buck’s trauma... they did it over several episodes, Buck in 3x01 was depressed, the tsunami is an allegory of how he was drowning in it... and all through out the season we see hints of how Buck have dealt with that, how after tsunami he got back up from depression only to be triggered back into it with that lawyer and that disaster dinner with Bobby and Athena... Buck more than any other character on the show have been open about his feelings, he was depressed and we saw that, he was angry about losing his job, we’ve been shown that, when he got back and everyone gave him a cold shoulder except Chim and Hen and he felt bad about it, yeah that’s shown... It’s not like we saw Buck get crushed by a truck and he was fine the next episode and the show forgot what happened, they’d shown what Buck went through and how he got past with his trauma in best way they can and working with what they have... And I think fans should appreciate that...

The trauma of losing that guy in episode two, Buck’s way of dealing with it was to have sex with that therapist... IS it wrong? YES, it is. It’s really disgusting that the therapist acted the way she did. But to Buck it was not even a blip in his radar, he didn’t get trauma from that encounter despite what fanfic writers like me have been writing. Buck had always joked about it and that’s how he coped with the shame of the encounter, it speaks to Buck’s Buck 1.0 character, playboy with a heart of gold. And the writers sort of dealt with the therapist seeing as Bobby mentioned she doesn’t work on with the department anymore, that may not have clearly meant that she got fired but if you looked at Bobby’s face you’d know that they knew about the incident since he knew who Buck was talking about and the fact that Chimney didn’t comment on it meant he knew about that incident too which tells me it was brought up some time between them... And in the grand scheme of things, that one incident in Buck’s life is not as traumatic as what he went through with the truck incident, so of course the show won’t focus on that because AGAIN limited time slot of 45 minutes!!!

The thing is if they gave more focus on Buck’s trauma in season three that might have mean that we don’t see Hen’s struggles with her relationship with Karen or her job. It might have meant we don’t get to see Micheal struggling with his cancer diagnosis, or him having a moment with his son and a talk with him about being a black man in America. It might meant we don’t get the storyline with Josh. The thing is that if you are a writer on a show like 9-1-1 you have to choose which storyline to go with to keep viewers or engage new ones. It’s having to choose what’s best for the show and it’s not elaborating on Buck’s trauma cause not everyone who watch the show is gonna want to see that. I love Evan Buckley and I would have paid to see that but at the same time I acknowledge that not everyone who tunes in to 911 is in it for that and the writers know that and write accordingly, that doesn’t mean it’s bad writing.

I know right?! This is like personality reversal where Eddie is the cocksure son of a bitch with a hidden heart of gold while Buck is the struggling single father who would do anything for family... the challenge in writing this fic is reversing there traits while still making sure Eddie is still Eddie and Buck is still Buck... and sometimes it’s a hit or miss...

What I love about writing this fic is that Eddie is not the single father in this... sure he loved his son but he was barely in Chris’ life if at all... rather in this fic he is an army man... that’s why he’s so rough around the edges... and Buck is not the Buck we first met Buck is the loving single father and a family man not the easy going playboy... I love writing about Abuela kind of hating Eddie too not because I want to lobby hate against Eddie but because I like how Eddie choice to stay away had effects not just on his relationship with Buck but also his relationship with the rest of his family...

So Eddie and Buck got together and later decided to get married... At the marriage ceremony they suddenly got interupted by somee official looking dude who told them they couldn’t get married... apparently Buck got drunkenly marrieed to someone while he was down in South America and he forgot... For reasons I cannot beegin to explain because this is also such a big plot hole in Bones (like how did that dude knew Angela was married and not have the name of the fucking husband in the document IDFK)...  Buck doesn’t know who he married if it was even a guy or a girl... Buck is blanking out on the name and has to be hypnotised just so they would know who the fuck it is that Buck need to divorce so he could get married to Eddie... Guy or Girl showed up eventually and looks wise he/she is way better than Eddie, he/she has a perfect model physique, and everyone at 118 would agree he/she is out of even Buck’s league, but of course they woul;dn’t say that in front of Eddie... He/She wanted Buck back but of course Buck is determined to get divorce because he loves Eddie... Bonus points for Jealous but trying to hide it Eddie...
