hi i have a theory i thought of after replaying LN II. A lot of the bosses (outside the newest from the trailer) are just... warped, normal people. The Teacher, The Doctor, The Lady, etc. In the new trailer the petrified statues look like adults, but they look normal, they are even normal heights compared to the MCs, so I was like
Well, what if something caused a corruption in the adults and warped them into the monsters they are? The Teacher and The Doctor continue to do what they did as normal people, despite it being pointless/role play, playing out what they used to do before everything was destroyed and the people corrupted. Whether it's because it's what they once knew so well, or trying to live out normalcy, I can only guess. It would make them somewhat sympathetic, at least.

im back im back and im looking at the footage in this massive post WEE HEE HEE!!

i went onto the website and Low is the boy in a mask and Alone is a girl with the wrench.

you can see Low here by himself which is interesting, in single player it makes sense to have one character before you meet your AI companion but I wonder how this could work in multi

Low is also by himself here, before the next scene where he meets up with Alone. So Ig Low is travelling and ends up with Alone.
In the trailer when it shows the busted mirror you can hear the ticking noise that is so well known in LN II for the section where Mono transforms into a new Tall Man (no i still do not believe in the time travel theory and I will not debate it < 3)

A NOME!!! ON THE LEFT!! while it makes sense emotionally that they are here (they are so little nightmares after all), logically it does strike me as curious. It was The Lady who turns children into Nomes, so either this one is just here (i know there's at least one in LN II) or other people can have this power?
Also it's curious they're holding a paper, wonder what they've found? Wouldn't it be insane if it was another advert for The Maw haha (in all likelihood it's probably a map of some sort since their goal is to leave this place, but it can also just be part of the trailer and not gameplay just to give us a better look at the characters)

the little umbrellas fiNALLY made me realise why the art direction feels so different, it's very tim burton. little nightmares could be considered as such but different enough because it lacked a lot of the whimsical aspects of tim burton's designs, but these have some charm to them that is whimsy enough that it is set apart. Anyways, the umbrellas are cute and i am guessing they auto deploy rather than you being able to use them whenever. I wonder if they're visible at all on the character's designs? since both characters have matching ones, do they get them somewhere? make them? i am interested in where they got these haha
also i noticed a lot of netting for this region, i know it's a desert style location (the website even mentions a fair park section and i am BEYOND excited for that because i LOVE clowns and circus stuff)

this particular puzzle is shown a few times in the trailer so they must be quite proud of it (i mean it is cute and i like it haha). i am guessing this is part of the fairgrounds section, as it did feel out of place in the trailer but would make a lot of sense for a location like that (it is very colourful which is pretty new for the series)

there is an axe here! i wonder if it dislodges when you solve the puzzle. the eye motif is back as it should be, it's very LNcore of them. im guessing the green thing is a giant crayon? being a too small child in a location made for children is a fun concept and furthers with the theme of subverting childlike concepts into something a bit unnerving.

initially i thought these were guests, but looking at the area more closely and now that i know there's a fairgrounds, these are probably The Dwellers and this is probably the fairgrounds.

ofc, we have the sewer hands. they are self explanatory honestly. but i can't help but wonder how they function in game as an enemy. i can see their surprise jump scare factor, but as an active enemy to avoid it does have me wondering how they will work.

the fuses are back! and there's the roaches. you can see Alone with her wrench out here, wonder if it's part of her idle or run animation at all? it could also be because Low has the fuse so she has her wrench ready for whatever reason. I want to say she could possibly smash roaches, but there's so many here I think it'd be impossible

these shelves are much like the ones in LN 1 in the swaying gnome section of the DLC i mentioned before, it's cool they brought these back as they're very reminiscent of the first game in general. But the jar is very LN II of them.....
I know I keep making comparisons between I II and to III but I honestly do believe the studio is bringing back a lot of motifs, imagery, items, and assets on purpose specifically to feel familiar enough to the audience who has played the first two and might be uneasy about the somewhat new art direction.

i wonder what location this could be? And why is Lone able to use mirrors like this, and why is he only doing so now? He also travelled here alone, so I'm super interested in his backstory.

so i was surprised to see the website explicitly call this a giant baby and not a doll when it is very obviously one. unless it is a giant baby wearing a doll head?

the left eye (our left) also clearly has the ability to petrify people, too. the baby itself is very worn down so it's either quite old, or has simply seen a lot of damage. im guessing at one point its other eye also functioned.

this is VERY interesting. these statues of petrified people are larger than the MCs meaning they were probably adults, so the baby really does target anyone probably. it's also strange as these people look... normal? there's nothing going on with them, they are simply petrified. it paints a picture where it's possible that at one point, the little nightmares world *was* normal, and something happened that warped the adults. it's possible the giant baby is man made itself, idk what it is but it feels that way to me. i dont think it was just... born like this.

literally no idea what this could be about. i know it looks like a trash dump but i can't tell for what if anything specific. why the table with jars neatly placed on it? why the giant machine? initially i thought it was like a machine that'd scoop things and then drop it, but it looks like a chute which means something or someone is filling it somehow.

if you watch the animation for this part Low is pulling Alone who stops him and then lets go before they look at you, it's probably a simple animation but it'd be interesting if it told us anything abt their dynamic.

we have the eyes returning < 33 tho they do look different-mostly the peep hole is more narrow giving it a more threatening look (pupils become smaller when someone is angry for example)

so more LN III thoughts (not as many at least, read more is just for users who are avoiding altogether)
I keep thinking abt how the single player you'll be playing with an AI like LN II, and I think the game would offer a lot of replay ability if you can choose which kid you play as as they both do different things (the wrench kid has the wrench for puzzles and breaking things, and the masked kid has the slingshot). in multiplayer it makes enough sense you can pick which one to play as, but if you can choose in single I think it'd make the game have a lot more play value and that's super cool.
the fact it has online co-op can mean so much for cool additional things, and i do hope character customisation is still there (LN with Six's masks/hats and LN II with Monos also) even if you have to unlock it which would also still offer replay ability.

So
Little Nightmares III, huh???
I was trying to avoid being excited about it because no solid release date and 2024 could be a few months from now or a year from now and Idk how long I can handle being so fuckin hyped for this game YEEHAW
BUT I CAN'T, I KEEP THINKING ABT THE GAME AAHAHHGAGA
so here are my thoughts, if you wanted to know
FIRST OF ALL, i am so glad that after we saw LTNM II we thought it'd be co-op but it was just an AI, that we finally get co-op! AND ONLINE TOO, i spent the first day worried it'd be shared screen same room situation since i wasn't trying to get my hopes up but then I realised I can just.. google it.. AND IT IS!!! ONLINE!! IDK WHO I AM GONNA PLAY IT W FIRST AAAAAAAA
anyways, you can definitely tell it's a new studio working on this game, the world feels mostly the same but the character designs themselves are definitely stylistically similar, but not the same. With Six especially, the MC designs were very simplistic and realistic but used colour (or for Mono, a single design quirk being the bag) to stand out against their backgrounds and against the enemies which are largely neutral colours. But these new ones feel... "over designed"? On their own they definitely aren't, but in comparison to Mono, Six, Seven, and even NPCs like the flashlight girl, they have a lot more going on (especially the little wrench kid, Idk which one is Alone and which one is Low yet btw OOP)
Despite it being a new studio and you can tell, new puzzles and environments, they're still doing their best to have the OGs vibes and whatnot to feel familiar, namely in the trailer they bring back the fuses, and the additional gameplay video there's a short scene with an environment with all the shelves you can find in LTNM 1s gnome section (the one with the cart that is affected by the Maws swaying).
But regardless, it still feels different enough my brain is still nervous about it. I also feel In A Way about Tarsier having LTNM II explode and their franchise getting the attention it deserves, only to have it stuck with Bandai and now it's going to likely explode again and they aren't involved. Idk how anyone on that team feels about it, but if it were me omg.
Also the only boss we've seen so far (i hope they add more and i def want some to be a surprise so im not gonna assume this is the only one for now) feels... out of place? it has the design qualities of a LTNM boss, but the size of it makes it more of a spectacle than a warped/corruption of an adult. All the previous bosses fit in their environment, we are the small ones and they are scaled to the world around them. This is the first time, outside monster Six who imo is a bit of an outlier anyways due to her circumstances, we're getting a boss who is this huge and doesn't even fit their own environment. I hope we get a lore reason for this in some way, because currently the boss doesn't have the same vibe as the others and it's throwing me off a bit. Don't get me wrong, it'll be terrifying, but looking at the picture as a whole they are sort of out of place for me rn. I don't hate the bitch either, I'm not gonna be like omg get rid of it or change it, but it does strike me as odd seeing it for now.
And yes the tall man is too tall for a lot of things, but he's not THAT big. He's more like yer tall guy who hits his head off doorways, which happens irl anyways LMAO
Little Nightmares primarily tries to capture the feeling of being a small child and how everything is big and scary, but a doll that huge is out of the realm of reality set up for us already. It's gone from scary corrupted animal to godzilla, if that makes sense.
OH AND THE MIRRORS ARE VERY LTNM COMICS OF THEM TEE HEE < 3

This is a bit long woops
TL;DR: The world they grow up in is extremely unforgiving and Six is a child who has taken to the more cold and emotionally shut off route, and while Mono likely considered themselves friendly, he was more of a convenience to Six. They have a few moments in the game that shows some humanity, but I think it's got something to do w them being so young, too. Because of this, I think Six didn't consider them as friends, which is why she was so easily able to do what she did at the end. Mono became a liability, and since she lacked any real connection, she could cut him off to save herself, as self preservation is more important to her. So it's more one-sided.
I personally think (esp with the knowledge of the comics released before the game dropped), that Six ended up helping Mono in a mutual arrangement more than as friends, esp if u consider the fact he's the reason she was trapped in the house in the first place iirc.
In the school section of the game, if you let Six do it she'll kill that student with her bare hands, and I genuinely think she lacks remorse for that kind of thing (or at the very least, is filled with enough anger that she justifies it to herself in the moment), and considering the environment and how dog-eat-dog their world is, she struggles with human connections in general. To trust someone is to potentially risk it all, and her action at the end of the game I think reflects a "I did it before you did it to me" mindset she could potentially have. It's possible Mono failing to rescue her right away and continuing to put them in danger via TVs played directly into this fear, or even caused it.
So while they have a few cute moments throughout the game, I think that's more to do with the fact that she is still only like 9, and while she doesn't hate Mono, him being there was convenient for her up until it wasn't.
I haven't played it in a while, so these are more thoughts that have lingered since I did last run through it a few months ago, so while I may not have every detail ever to consider, those are my general feelings in regards to her and their relationship. I think Mono is a somewhat naïve and kindhearted individual who genuinely did care, and could have misinterpreted Six's usage of him for survival and safety as companionship. It's possible Six may have tried to open up a few times to the idea, but ultimately she values self preservation more.
So ultimately, I see their friendship more as a mutual benefits situation in Six's perspective, and Six in her young self and the last of her childlike charm sometimes has a few moments of opening up and showing that, but ultimately that matters less than moving on alive to her.

Yes I am speaking for myself, wasn’t saying I’m speaking for you haha. I could be indebted as can be and still wouldn’t work with people who are stealing and profiting off of other artists. My morality is too strong to be fine with being associated with, and working for art thieves. *Especially* when these people could just as well target other artists. I would never want to associate myself with these types of people, as someone who has had my work stolen multiple times, and knowing just how stressful, frustrating, and discouraging it is. I rarely post on here anymore with new art because it is frequently reposted and stolen, it has a very negative impact on plenty of artists, and I am not going to align myself with nor contribute to that. I’m just showing my reasons for why I’d never do that, since you shared what you would do if you were me, so I thought to explain why I wouldn’t if I were also me.

I didn’t say you said it or meant it, but that given the subtext and implication it’s what it comes across as. “If my art ever became good enough to steal, that’s what I’d do” is implying mine was good enough to steal, because it was stolen, and you were saying this on my post about my art being stolen. You saw this situation that I was put in and subtextly implied that my art was good enough to be stolen, because if you were in my situation (which I hope you’d never be), your art would be “good enough” for this to happen to you. It implies this was partially a good thing and that my art being good is what made this happen to me, which is not encouraging in the slightest and really gets people to stop posting. It’d be like saying, “If I were catcalled I’d be happy about it, because it means I’m hot enough”, if that can put it into better perspective for you here <0) just wanted to share why it can be really upsetting so you know going forward.
But yes, I can be paid for my work through better means, like commissioning, or Patreon..! Which I do both 0)!

And absolutely not. Not only do I not own the IP so I could end up in legal trouble, but I don’t want people stealing my art at all. I don’t want a “cut” from earnings made from actions that were taken initially to profit off of me and fuck me over. I do not want to work with people who steal art.
Also I don’t appreciate being “good enough” to steal from. That kinda thing contributes to what gets popular artists to delete their accounts. If anything it kinda downplays how bad it is, “at least your art is so good people stole it!” is very victim blame-y in subtext, sorry. <0) I didn’t work on art for years to be stolen from.
