Notes: i was having a conversation about bipolar disorder in fanfic (i'm bipolar, so i'm very interested in the topic) and, as one does, went around digging through the tag for any fandom i'm in. this is by far my favorite one i found! it's cute and deals with the topic kindly (i hadn't noticed how much i craved this human approach to bd just in storytelling in general) while also being relevant to the character. other than that, i just enjoyed the characters' personalities and the cute little plot going on. it's a pretty straightforward story, without plot twists or anything, so i'd say this is what you're looking for when you want a quick little read before bed.

Summary: Home in the shape of their interlocked fingers, in the sound of their whispered secrets, in the warmth of their bodies pressed together. Home in the two of them colliding, in summer and autumn meeting right at the edge of each other and promising they wouldn’t let go.
or, the highs and lows of life and love as told by a musician and a dancer.
Notes: i read this at 5am so perhaps this influenced my mood, but this fic is such a ride. since it follows a non-linear narrative, you get the pieces of the plot and as you read, they fall into place. that means you need a little patience, but i think it's all worth it considering how heartfelt and lovely the writing is. i can tell op put their heart into it and it makes all the difference!
this fic has heavier angst than other fics we've recommended, so do keep that in mind! because of that, this fic has a very... melancholy? vibe, but it makes all the sweet moments between minsung mean that much more. one of my favorite things about this fic is the character development from both minho and jisung; they are individual characters who grow a lot by learning from each other. they're each other's support :(
i recommend reading this at nighttime, or when it's overcast. i think a moody atmosphere would be best if you want to get fully immersed! and since it has a motif of autumn and summer, i think the summertime (or autumntime, i guess) would be the perfect time to read it! give op some love~ ^^

Just found this tumblr and I'm really impressed with the work and dedication you put into your recommendations and research!
So! Lately I found myself really enjoying leeknow ships, but I've come across so many fics where the boys characterisation is just so off that it's hard to read really.
So my general question is, do you know any minho/hyunjin minho/jisung or minho/Chan fics with well written characterisation?
I do prefer Canon compliant usually and am a sucker for Angst /comfort happy end things but all well written fics work for me really...

thank you so much for your kind words, anon! unfortunately, the admins and i are full-time college students and/or working, so we haven't had as much time to post. many apologies for the late response!
stir the tide by tentoheaven is a 16k chan/jisung/minho college au. it has a pretty simple plot, but i really enjoy it because of the characterization and how it's well-written! i also find this dynamic really cute and interesting!
the way home by magpiepair is a 13k chan/jisung/minho non-famous au. it's a bit more angsty than stir the tide, but i really love the hurt/comfort :'] and again, great characterization and general prose!
so sweet like chocolate by luckyday is a tried and true favorite minsung fic, but it's definitely the longest here since it's 71k. i posted a rec for it, and i mentioned how wonderful the characterization is! it's slow burn but it's a very lighthearted read.
i debated whether or not to add this one since it's my own fic, but here it is anyway: wish of nature by sarangx (me hehe). it's only a 5k hyunjin/minho fic, inspired by the seasons. i only ever write for groups when i feel i've got their characterization down, so hopefully it's realistic!

i always recommend maple and honey eyes by honeypressed since it's one of my favorite skz fics ever :] it's 15k seungmin/jeongin !
bloom bloom by nanamilks is also very cute! it's han/jeongin and is a very sweet found family fae au. it's the longest one i'll rec here as it's 26k.
everything's stupid (but that's a good thing) by rainbundles is another cute one. it's only 6k so it's a pretty quick read, but it's absolutely adorable. it's another jeongin/seungmin one!
as you wish by chronosaurus is a gen jeongin fic, only about 4k. i really like this one because of the world-building!

i'd never heard about it but it seems to just be fanfic written without capital letters. it's an aesthetic choice and apparently slightly more popular among kpop fandoms.

I need help finding a chan fic please 🥹. He’s a single dad in it, also him and the reader are neighbors. They went one date and then he ghosted her. She finds out why he ghosted her after she let his package get stolen or lost I think. Also him, his daughter, and reader go on a date together to the aquarium i think. Notes: as someone who doesn't specially gravitate to explicit fics, the plot interested me enough to click and i swear i couldn't put it down. the wait for new chapters felt like forever, i just needed more and more and more. for people who don't like explicit sex scenes, i'd say you might be able to enjoy some bits to it but you can't skip the scenes. there aren't even that many sex scenes to be honest, and you don't want to skip them because the writing is excellent.
if you've watched the movie, i can attest that the depiction of sex workers in this one is leagues better.
hyunjin is genderfluid and the author said they wrote him based on their feelings about their gender, which is saying it might not be similar to other people's experiences. i think it's really fun to read, his relationship with his body is based on gender euphoria instead of dysphoria, but, still, thought it would be nice to know.

Summary: He feels an awful dread swirl inside him before he even realises what is happening and everything comes to a standstill when he catches sight of the mark on the inside of his right wrist, tiny and barely noticeable.
He opens his mouth, trying to speak, and flowers fall to the floor.
Minho’s hand freezes on his back.
“Again,” whispers Chan, finally realising. “It’s happening again.”
Notes: this is such an interesting spin in hanahaki! since i first came through hanahaki, it's been a personal favorite of mine, but it is a concept that gets tired really easy. it's always fun when you come across a creative twist to it!
as most hanahaki disease fics are, this one is filled with angst (not that i have to say anything when it has those tags lol). the reverse chronology format might make it even more angsty, because you are always seeing the consequence of the action before the action even happens. instead of seeing the characters get less hopeful, you see them getting more hopeful, knowing it will lead to nothing.
if i have to complain about something, i'd say the death scene is not written in a way it feels like the best opener for the fic, but arguably this fic is more about the long term process of dying from a disease than the act of dying in itself. either way, i wouldn't say it affects the enjoyment.

Hey! So I read this unfinished sky pic a while ago and it has not left my mind since, unfortunately, I haven't saved the fic. I don't have the specifics but I do remember that it was an unfinished fic where Jeongin was tasked to complete a job, like gang mafia type beat, and he heads over to 3racha and gives them the job offer while holding a gun to Jisung's head. He also finds Minho annoying when they talk over the phone. I found it on Ao3 and hope you can be of some help, thank you!
