Welcome to my side-blog for my Shattered Soul AU!
The premise is that while fighting Asriel, Frisk dies and their soul shatters. They enter a sort of limbo, where they meet the other fallen humans. They decide then and there that they are going to save everyone, and offer the pieces of their soul to help give them the determination to live again.
Frisk expects to die, and makes peace with this, but then wakes up as a monster, finding that the small shard of their soul that they had left

Frisk
They still have their human body underneath the magic that holds them together. They are much shorter than most monsters their age due to this.
Their build still very "human" in nature, despite the more canine features. You can tell by looking at them that something isn't quite "right"
Their soul is now a monster soul, which causes some issues due to their body being mainly physical. Their soul can only produce enough magic to keep them alive, so they're unable to perform magic normally. This also causes them to tire more easily than others and can cause physical pain if they use up too much of their determination.
They have a lot more determination than a regular monster and can access it, but they aren't determined enough to reset anymore. Instead, they learn to use their determination in the way that other monsters use basic magic.
Their eyes glow when they use magic
They were 10 when they fell
They don't like the feeling of going barefoot, and will often wear shoes. Chara tends to give them a hard time about this
They rarely speak and tend to use sign language, though they do enjoy singing
Toriel notices that they're nearsighted after a couple years and gets them glasses
Their first run was an incomplete Neutral. They got extremely frustrated with everyone trying to kill them, and ended up reseting and doing a Genocide Run out of anger. They didn't complete it, and ended up quitting because they felt bad. After that, they did multiple Pacifist Runs, vowing never to hurt anyone again, and trying to find a way to save Asriel.
They're extremely forgiving to a fault, and rarely show their anger. They're afraid of letting their true feelings show due to what they did in the past. They'd rather let things go than get mad and end up hurting someone.
They originally took up the role of ambassador, but after it proved to be too much for them, passed it on to Papyrus.
Them and Chara are the only two who remember that previous timelines were different, for some reason

Clover (Justice)
They have slight memory of Flowey's resests
They went through a Neutral Run before giving up their soul in Pacifist
They were 12 when they fell
Goes to live with Starlo and Ceroba after coming back, though they visit Toriel and the other kids quite often
They see Martlet as a bit of an older sister, and by extension, her brother, Birdly, as their brother as well
Was given Starlo's poncho as a sort of apology for "losing" Clover's gun and hat, though Frisk does return them
They truly considered Flowey to be their friend, even though they were partially aware of what he'd done. They continue that friendship with Asriel, despite knowing more now.
They see Kanako as their sister, and the two of them will often get into trouble together. Birdly is excluded because he tends to tattle.
They try to be friends with Jade, despite everything, but have little success
Them and Frisk get along pretty well. Sometimes they just hang out and relax, as Frisk tends to be the least chaotic out of everyone
They end up in the Royal Guard when they get older, but mainly to follow in Starlo's footsteps and keep an eye on their town, still playing into the sheriff role quite a bit

Jax (Perseverance)
He was separated from Jade in the chaos that was caused by her attacking Dalv
He had really only been near Dalv because he had wanted to play with Kanako
Like Jade, he uses a shortened version of his full name, Jaxon.
He loves to draw. He especially loves to draw monsters due to how varied they look
He was killed by Undyne, so he's pretty wary around her, but he still thinks she's kind of cool
He likes to listen to Gerson's stories, and sees him as a bit of a grandfather figure
He was 8 when he fell
He's pretty outgoing, and enjoys making friends
He gets annoyed with Jade's hypervigilance, though usually lets her keep an eye on him because he knows it makes her feel better
Once his horns come in, him and Chara sometimes headbutt each other. Chara tends to act annoyed, but will indulge him

Jade (Integrity)
She is distrustful towards most monsters, sometimes to the point of outright hatred
Her full name is Jaden, but she prefers Jade. Her full name is really only used when she's in trouble
She killed at first to protect her brother, but then out of anger due to blaming them for losing him
She holds a grudge against Undyne for killing Jax, and doesn't want her anywhere near him
She holds a grudge against Ceroba for Chujin's work, and feels that she can't be trusted
She doesn't like Clover very much, due to them choosing to live with Ceroba, though at the same time, worries about their safety
She dislikes Chara for siding with the monsters
She is very protective of her brother, and her main motivation is to keep him safe
She was 11 when she fell
She attacked Dalv because she thought he was going to hurt Jax. She later does apologize, and admits that he was just protecting Kanako. They're not friends, but Jade considers them even
She spends most of her time with Toriel, Jax, or the rest of the fallen, as they're within the small circle of people she trusts
She threatened Asgore when he attempted to get to know her. She wants nothing to do with him, and believes he was completely unjustified in his plan
She resents the fact that she is now a monster, and misses being human

Abby (Bravery)
She lost her items in Snowdin, though she made it all the way to Hotland
She was very neglected by her family on the surface
She was the reason Gerson decided to retire as captain of the Royal Guard
She is very much a troublemaker, and likes to pull pranks. She tends to get on Chara and Asriel's nerves
She loves adventure, and likes to explore with Rory
She was 9 when she fell
She managed to hit back one of Undyne's spears when Undyne was younger. This caused Undyne to lose her eye
She was killed by a Royal Guard patrol in Hotland
She enjoys sparring with Rory, though she isn't great at it yet
She heard Undyne's story about how she became captain of the guard and became inspired. Her goal is to get Asgore to spar with her, though Asgore is reasonably hesitant

Bella (Patience)
She is very soft-spoken
She was 6 when she fell
She's the reason the Toriel starts guiding the other children through the puzzles, as she died due to one of the more dangerous ones
Her soul was taken to Asgore by a loox
She starts using They/Them pronouns as she gets older
They enjoy Asgore's company and will sometimes garden with him
They don't have many friends, and mainly just hang around their siblings
They enjoy babysitting for Undyne and Alphys
They enjoy younger kids in general and will often help out with the kindergarteners at the school when they have the time

Anna (Kindness)
She has always been very clumsy, this eventually caused her death
She tries to be social, but is pretty awkward around new people
She killed a few monsters out of self-defense when sparing them didn't work
She was killed by Asgore out of mercy after tripping in Hotland and ending up badly burned
She was 14 when she fell
She is one of the few fallen children who accepts Asgore's attempts at a relationship. She doesn't hold a grudge against him for killing her, and understands his perspective
She enjoys cooking and baking with Toriel, and as she gets older, starts teaching about cooking at the school

Chara
They prefer being a monster rather than a human. They would rather avoid the fact that they were once human entirely
They don't slip into human mannerisms as much as the other fallen
They tend to keep their fur trimmed short in order to look more like Toriel
Their bullets mainly take the form of knives
They're glad that they ended up being a goat monster
They were 9 when they fell and 13 when they died
They woke up when Frisk first fell
They remember the resets that them and Frisk went through
They were Frisk's companion throughout the Underground in every run, and narrated the world around them
Frisk gave them the nickname "Charator" once they learned their name. Chara doesn't really like the name
They don't entirely dislike Frisk, but they do hold a grudge about their Geno run, and is well aware of the fact that Frisk isn't perfect
They enjoy sparring with Rory, though they aren't overly close
They dislikes Jade, due to her hatred of other monsters
Them and Clover aren't really close, but they do hold a bit of respect for Clover's sacrifice
They enjoy terrorizing Asriel, though in a playful manner. They really like that he'll actually push back against them now, rather than just crying and running to Toriel.
They push back against Asriel when he goes too far, and will call him out on it
They enjoy gardening, and will join Asgore when he has time, though they are closer to Toriel
They're more interested in taking over the throne than Asriel or Rory, and likely will be Asgore's successor
Them and Frisk are the only two who really remember other timelines being different than this one for some reason.

Asriel
Was still very much "Flowey" in personality at first. He felt pretty numb about most things, though that improved with time as he started to heal
He doesn't like that he came back "wrong" in personality and appearance. He accepts this a bit more as he gets older, but still has features that he dislikes (mainly the flowers that grow on his horns, and the thorns that come out when he experiences strong emotions)
He dyes his fur for a while because the bright yellow is the same as his petals as Flowey. Later he starts to accept his appearance, but still dyes his fur just because he can.
His horns grow buds that bloom into golden flowers in the spring. He tends to pick them off before then, though, due to disliking them.
He gains attributes of his Omega and Hyperdeath forms when he uses strong magic or experiences strong emotions
He still tends to have a darker sense of humor, even as he gets older
He finds plant magic and vines to be easiest to use, though it takes him a long time to accept this
He still has the ability to mimic voices. He dislikes using this ability for a while, but eventually finds that Frisk finds it funny, so starts doing it to make them laugh. Eventually he fully accepts it and starts using it more often.
He gets frustrated with the fact that his claws can't grip things as well as his paws could, and often has to ask for help with certain tasks at first, though later learns to use his vines to help him
His vines mainly sprout from his paw-pads, which are still plant-like
At first he resents Rory, because he feels like they were just a replacement for him and Chara, but he eventually builds a decent relationship with them
He is still close friends with Clover, and they hang out often
Him and Chara have an interesting relationship. They're close, but they tend to try and get on each other's nerves whenever they're around each other. Sometimes to the point of physical fights, but nobody actually tends to get hurt
He tends to lash out when upset or angry, sometimes to the point of harming those around him, whether it be verbally or physically. He gets better about it as he gets older, though it still happens on occasion
He adores Frisk, sometimes a little too much. He tends to put them on a pedestal, and tends to forget that they've done a lot of bad things as well. It's something he needs to work on, though he likes to ignore this
His soul is no longer connected to his parents, and he isn't drawing any magic from them
He doesn't have much interest in being king anymore. He'd rather just live a normal life, since he never really got the chance to before

Rory
Looks a lot like a younger Asgore
Was raised in the Ruins, but was allowed out to play on the outskirts of Snowdin forest occasionally
Prefers defense to offense, but can definitely hold their own in a fight
A young adult by the time Frisk comes around
They look up to Undyne and often spar with her
They end up joining the Royal Guard
They tend to enjoy doing things on their own, but can work with others if they have to
Loves to explore new places, always wanting to see more
They sometimes deal with royal duties alongside Chara, but they prefer dealing with the guard. They would like to take over as captain once Undyne retires

Has stepped away from royal duties completely
She now works as a teacher
She tends to be overprotective of her children, much to many of their annoyance
She tends to be stuck in the past, but is working on it
Fosters children who are without parents
Loves to babysit for Undyne and Alphys

Is often away on royal business
Misses having more time to spend with his family
When he does have time off, he often spends it gardening. Oftentimes with Chara and Asriel
His relationship with Toriel is still very strained, but it has gotten better, mainly for the sake of their children
He tries to make a relationship with the rest of the fallen children, to varying success
