Dragon/Electric
The Rites Pokémon
Ability: static/ Fluffy/ bulletproof(HA)
Special move: Lustrous Wool*- heals status conditions and heals 50% HP 10/10
—Evolves from Flaaffy holding a Draco Stone in the Arcadia region*—
Pokédex: Ampheirei are fiercely protective of their wool, even forgoing sleep to protect it. The longer and more lustrous their golden manes, the more respect it garners amongst its own and herds of sheep Pokemon- particularly Mareep and Flaaffy.
Its Golden Fleece is highly prized in the Arcadia Region for its incredible durability and softness, almost exclusively utilized in royal attire.
It is said that when an Ampheirei willingly bestows its Golden Fleece to a human, that human will be a wise and noble leader.
The flame it carries in its tail is said to have come directly from the first flame, and is kept jealously and diligently by Ampheirei. If one manages to obtain a piece of it, it is said victory is ensured in their endeavors.

This is an entry for TrainerMatz’s contest on instagram. The prompt was a Greek themed evolution for an existing canon or Arcadia region Pokemon utilizing his created evolutionary items. I chose the Draco Stone.
The Greek tale I recall best was the Golden Fleece, and one of my favorite Pokémon is the mareep line- so ideas came easy.
In the myth, the Golden Fleece was prized as it represented many powerful aspects- the most known is royal power and perhaps alchemy.
The fleece was a powerful artifact that was hidden away and hung on an oak tree, guarded by a sleepless dragon.
I took these as the predominate inspiration from the tale.
The name is made from a combination of Ampharos’ natural representation as a type of guardian or sheppard and the association the fleece has from the Greek gods.
Combining them I came to a type of priest guarding precious goods. Heirei is the name of a Greek priest.
The torch on its tail is a nod to the oak tree the fleece was hung from ans well as the Olympian torch (as well as match aesthetic XD).

“Come on, guys. We’re in this for the long haul. We’re not just crewmates- we’re family.”
Teilson is the Skeld’s O2 specialist.
Passionate about plants since a young age, he is both a self taught and studied botanist and cares for them as he would an animal companion.
He is something of a homebody otherwise, knowing basic cooking, cleaning and household tasks- but is a master of none, save one.
He loves knitting and sewing. He often uses this skill to make cosmetic items for his crewmates as gifts.
The youngest on the ship, he is very energetic and often finishes his tasks before anyone else- he uses his extra time to either work on his hobbies or help his crewmates with their tasks.
And last but certainly not least- by boi Teilson.
I love all my beans- but this boi is our starry eyed protagonist.
Young and inexperienced outside a parental household- how will he fair in the great void of space where not everyone is as they seem?

Dr. Arden is the Skeld’s medic.
A very kind heart, he cares greatly for everyone’s well being aboard the Skeld and is often seen making casual rounds to ensure the crew is tending their basic self care, enough so that he’s occasionally been called a worry wort.
He hopes to be able to personally study extraterrestrial plants and animals in hopes to further current medicinal knowledge.

Spencer is the Skeld’s electrician and engineer- and almost aggressively so. He keeps mostly to himself at any given time and absolutely resists the idea of anyone but him tampering with electrical.
Because of this, he is almost never seen outside of electrical nor interacting with the crew.
He is never seen without a coffee nearby.

Nick is the Skeld’s storage manager- ensuring everything is in its place and taken care of along the duration of the travel.
Given this is a low work deal, he finds himself all around the Skeld- oftentimes entertaining himself by pranking the crew and collecting loose items on occasion- some of which may or may not belong to others aboard the crew.
He joined the Skeld for easy work- and is annoyed when he is made to aid with tasking.

Skyler is the Skeld’s security guard and weapons officer.
A longtime friend of Calian, he gladly joined the volunteer program to sail the stars again.
Although imposing, he is actually a very chill Crew, quick to do his job to get to his “downtime”, often seen in the security room with coffee and tablet in hand.
He takes his job seriously, however, and enforces Captains orders where applicable- but often in a way that has earned him the nickname “big brother” among most of the crew.

Julie is the Skeld’s cook. Recruited last minute, she joined the Skeld to escape a stressful situation as soon as possible.
She is lively and energetic, easily engaging in conversation with the crew when able and ensures there is something to look forward to on a weekly basis in the form of food or other surprises.
Her most prized possession is her pet, Gummy, her crewlinghood pet.

Calian is the Skeld’s captain. Having lived a military life, he comes off as strict, stoic and abrasive. He is skilled in most of the Skeld’s tasks and finds himself ensuring his crew is performing their best. When not, he’s training in the weapons bay- always preparing for the worst of situations to ensure his crews safety.

“Oh yeah- I got the perfect playlist for this vibe~.”
Crusade is the Skeld’s coms expert. Calm and chill, they get along with virtually everyone aboard the Skeld. They can, however, be very loud, blasting music from the coms room, much to the Captain’s chagrin.
Their love for music inspired them to potentially one day become a DJ- because of this they playfully refer to themselves as “Crusade”.
This was an initial entry for Rodamrix’s Crewmate cameo discord event (10-01-2023 to 10-31-2023).
I got a touch too excited and threw Crusade in as my entry😅. But I felt that unfair and gave the spot to Calian.
In any case- I enjoyed the way this came out and decided to make this the first of my updated character sheets as a few changes have been made since.

Crusade exited the east hall into the cafeteria and yawned. One thing virtually everyone agreed upon was a dislike for the Down/Upload Task. It took forever and was tedious and they were more than happy it was done with for the day.
They paused spotting the orange Crew, Teilson, on the opposite end of the cafe, leaning against the sill and looking out the window.
Tapping off their music for a moment they joined him, “Whassup, Teilson?”
“Oh hey, Crusade!” He replied with his usual friendly smile, then it brightened a touch more as he looked at them eagerly, pointing out the viewport, “Look!”
Crusade looked out the window and briefly started at a brilliant flash of light. They looked after it a moment before another flash whipped past. Then another. Then another.
Crusade looked out the port at the phenomena with curiosity. They’d never seen asteroids behave that way before.
“It looks like rain.” Teilson replied contentedly with a gentle sigh, “heh. Rain in space.”
Crusade quirked a brow, “Rain?”
Teilson continued to watch the sight, “mhm. I mean look at it. Like a spring shower- only glowy.”
Crusade simply stared at him flatly for a moment more before looking back out and watching the flicks of stellar matter rush endlessly into space. They huffed amusedly, just softly enough not to be heard as they tapped their headphones- perfect time for this playlist.
Saw a challenge on Twitter and said. Yep. Gonna try my hand. Gives me opportunity to try my hand at more backgrounds. Which honestly speaking was fun to do. I might make that more the focus- when I get chances.
Also gives me a chance at little instances between my characters
Working on an old house this week so won’t be able to really go at it. But I’ll be happy for what I can try!

OMG I NEVER POSTED POOR JULIE 😭😭😭
Now Boarding the Skeld: Yellow
“We’re all scientists here. Health and cooking is a science- and a tasty one. And a dangerous one- now STOP EATING THE CHEESE!”
Julie is the Skeld’s chef and dietitian. She loves cooking and sees to it that the crew keeps a well balanced diet.
When not in the kitchen she is often in storage checking on produce inventory or learning how to maintain tasks- mostly the ones nearest her station. She is also a physical trainer and enjoys holding Zumba classes during downtime as a form of entertainment and physical therapy to relieve occasional cabin fever.
She also enjoys puzzles- but gets frustrated easily. Her nemesis consist of Nick and a Rubix cube.
Fsr I could not settle on this poor girls color! Yellow, lime, yellow, lime- AGH.
Finally figured out what was bugging me and…. I forgot her backpack and it somehow threw me.
I feel her expression on a spiritual level.
But I am finally happy with her, so welcome to the crew, Julie.

Boy I had so much fun with this actually! This gave me an opportunity to play with other clothes for Teilson- especially taking into consideration that he loves to make his own. Everything on him from jacket to surfboard are custom made by him.
