Controlled Control
Searching for a sense of purpose in this empty world as I attempt to grasp control in the palm of my hands.
This questionable thing that we all believe we have.
That makes us move the way we move.
Dress the way we dress.
Think the way we think.
Our puppet-master of sorts.
We believe we have some percentage of it when most haven’t even asked the question: Does control even exist? Regardless of if it does or not, the reality is,
the idea of control controls us.

HUMAN CONNECTION.
Love could suck my soul out of my body and drain it of all its happiness and I’d still put myself back together to search for it.
Love could rip my bare heart out of my chest and set it aflame right before my eyes and id blow out the flame, dust the black soot off my fragile heart and continue to search for it.
Love could drown me in a pool of blood. Suffocating me under that thick red liquid and i’d fight to pull myself out just to continue to search for it.
A never ending cycle of trial and error, happiness and despair, love and loss, death and rebirth.
Just to find that one lasting love.
Our heart would put itself, our mind and our soul through the ringer without thinking twice about it just to get back up and continue to search like our lives depended on it.
Human Connection.
That’s how much we crave it.

Excerpt #1
“Unempathetic expecting sympathetic qualities from loved ones who you don’t love enough to reciprocate your want is pathetic.” An excerpt from my poem about empathy. Isn’t it crazy how people expect so much from you, but when you expect anything back it’s an inconvenience to them? As humans we desire so much and a lot of that desire has to do with something someone else can do for us, but sometimes we have to ask ourselves what we can contribute. It’s easy to take and less easy to give, but it shouldn’t be a huge inconvenience especially when it comes to someone in your life that you love. Is that love even real if you don’t consider how they feel? There’s a fine line that most people can’t see that lies between your love for a person and your love for what that person does for you. Seeing the difference is the key, but I feel like some people would rather not see so they don’t have to believe. Ignorance is bliss as they say. Just something to think about.
