Posing as a helping hand to the disadvantaged (or even actually helping them, albeit in a manner which comes with serious strings attached) is classic cult behaviour. Also one found in abusive religions, but tomato tomato.
Cults are not just a white people thing. Especially in the US, predatory high control groups actively target disenfranchised people, especially immigrant populations who don't have the best grasp of English, and entered the country with a head full of American exceptionality propaganda.

Man, I think a really fun way to do research would be to read old occult texts out loud on twitch. I really like the idea of doing a chill book club type beat that also serves as an impromptu audiobook for some older obscure texts.

Techno-fairies show up a lot in fiction really
There’s The Many-Colored Land, Artemis Fowl, that one Pratchett and Baxter teamed up on if you squint, kinda, the Stross book where they blew up Yorkshire and one of them hooked up with the vampire, I think there’s an SCP story about them but it’s been a while
Warhammer has them
I suppose, to tie it into my blog’s actual purpose for a moment, there might be a connection with stuff like Shaver’s Dero, Vril, the whole aliens-and-saucers-as-modern-fairy-myth thing, etc. MCL and that one Laundry book were pretty explicit about that, maybe Fowl too I haven’t read those in years

Found it! It was The Many-Colored Land by Julian May. And like a lot of old sci-fi, the covers were filled with dramatically exaggerated quotes and had art which ranged from kinda tacky to absolutely fucking gorgeous (oh I love that second one):

what was that one book with the ancient aliens where there was this one chick who believed in the Hollow Earth because she’d grown up on a space station so there being tunnels and chambers under the world’s surface just made sense and the idea of everyone living on the outside of the ball sounded stupid
Everyone tries to go back in a time to find freedom in a simple, low-tech life but instead end up enslaved and forced to breed (many such cases)
there are techno-fairies

i love your blog, /x/ is my fave board but i rarely find anything good on there cuz im always at work (not... interested in people trying to cast their retard 'nogf' spells or w/e). love the highlights reel king, everything you post is a banger
Thank you friend, it’s true you have to sift through a lot of dirt if you want to find gold on 4chan

I mean this in the best, most complimentary way possible: you give the vibe of Overly Sarcastic Productions but for modern mythology instead of ancient and it rules
Thank you anon, I’m flattered! I do my best.

looking at the dates on the posts in the exuberantpilled summermaxxing image. odds everyone involved was high at the time? i’m thinking non-zero
Just because they were high as kites doesn’t mean we can’t believe them

There were also…I remember the book touching on a lot of kooky ideas for its worldbuilding.
the aliums came in two forms, One was tall and glamorous and it got really weird about their breasts, the others were dwarves.
The aliens and the humans who came back through time somehow imprinted on the earth’s collective unconscious. Ayy lmao inspired fairy legends and Nordic aliens and gnomes etc, they fucked about with a energy cannon and flooded everything and that was the origin of the great flood myth, all the humans were some sort of archetype, this one guy looked like Machiavelli and some violent lesbian became the Morrigan I think
Christianity was scientific fact? There were these neck rings that made you psychic, the aliens had names out of Irish myths and stuff…
you know if I spat some of that into Google I might just find it
