A very Happy Birthday to my very first boarding horse, Olivia.
She was born 40 years ago today, *21.04.1984 - 24.08.2011
Olivia was the best. She taught me so much.
I learned how to ride bareback on, well her back. Previously coming from a stable that'd rarely give me the chance to saddle or even groom the horses I was riding the lessons with, this was almost like a culture shock because I suddenly had to do everything on my own on this new farm. It was very nice though. The older kids would always help the younger riders.
Riding the horses back from the pasture to the farm in summer was always such a treat. It was about 1,5km/1m but so worth it. Gravel/sand trails through the marshland, no cars, only an occasional tractor depending the month with nothing but nature all around you.
Olivia was reliable, sensitive but witty and cunning at the same time.
Whenever she was done and didn't want to work anymore, she would just lay down and roll. Rider be damned xD
It was a challenge for a child rider to stop her from doing that but Olivia was a sweetheart all around.
I was lucky to have found her in 2011. Wasn't my opinion back then but now I'm glad. She died over night on the pasture surrounded by her herd aged 27.
Nothing gives the same kind of random ego boost like managing to finally clean up your home and making it nice. Like ooh look at me, I'm living like people do, I made myself iced tea and I am eating my snack from a real plate. I got floors and shit.
Something I’ve noticed is that liberal Zionists tag posts about Palestine as ‘i/p’ for some reason?
Yeah it stands for israel/palestine. It's a way to enforce israel's existence despite Palestinians asking everyone not to do that. It's also a very contentious discussion in Palestinian academia. Some people insist on palestine/israel, and some insist on complete rejection of israel and just saying Palestine. The second is more popular in casual spaces. I'm also a contender of using only "Palestine" both casually and in academia.
feeling the need to post again about this. i'm standing with every single person who is protesting for palestine right now. especially all the people at these universities setting up encampments and having guns and police brigades pointed towards them. these are PEACEFUL protests and should not be threatened with tear gas, force, or even snipers pointed at them. palestine needs our voices more than ever. we're nearing 50K marytered palestinians when there shouldn't have even been 1.
if you personally cannot protest in public for whatever reason it may be, at least voice your support for protesters who are and also voice your support for palestinians. they need your voice. their voices are getting silences constantly online whether through suppression or the IOF marytering them along with everyone else.
i stand with every palestinian in the world. i stand with every protester in the world speaking for palestinians.
FROM THE RIVER TO THE SEA, PALESTINE WILL BE FREE!!!!!
