Hey..I have a question for you : if they pass the Kosa bill then,they will not be enforced until 18 months after it is instated..This is true?
Also..
I saw on "hearing and meetings" that the hearing will be until April 17..
Yes, it sounds stupid and maybe it’s not true, but I’m very afraid and not ready to lose the Internet.I really don't know which information is true (because some of it is a lie).In addition, everyone is in a panic and everyone claims that after this date we will lose the Internet forever..Everyone says that we can stop the Kosa bill or something like that, but I doubt it…I'm against Kosa, but I'm still afraid
It is completely okay to be fearful. However, those who say that it is all over if KOSA gets passed are wrong. We can keep fighting back by protesting and making them hear us.
However going to the information bit...
As of right now, KOSA has not left the senate.
On April 17th, an entirely different thing will be discussed. The only thing that I saw that could potentially be KOSA is on the 10th.
If KOSA is voted on that day, majority needs to support it. And even if it passes senate, then it needs to go through the other steps to become a law on a national scale. We have time.
And yes, it says in the bill it will be put into effect 18 months after it becomes law.

I encourage you all to do your own research. Read laws, spread awareness, and make your own posts sharing what you know to be true. Fight misinformation. Misinformation is what kills a cause.
People saying that the fight is over if KOSA gets past is making people want to stop fighting. They think that they all be powerless after the proverbial event, but that's not true. We can keep fighting even after the law is potentially put in place.
Keep calling your reps, keep protesting, keep fighting.

Attention to all scared about KOSA!!!
I am not one to usually post about these kinds of things, but I am aware that most of us are scared and reasonably so. You've likely heard that your parents will see everything on your screen, AO3 will be closed, and you'll need to use a government issued ID in order to get access to anything on the internet, amongst many other terrible things that the bill will introduce.
But...as crazy as I may seem when i say this, it may not be that bad.
I highly recommend watching this Tiktok user ariella.elm in order to see my perspective on things. She does an incredible job at covering the bill along with what conditions come with it.
Just know that I am not telling you to stop calling your representatives. If you choose not to believe me, that is completely fine too. I am only trying to ease any anxiety. Feel free to continue to do whatever you think is necessary in order to stop the bill from passing through. Just please do not panic. Panic does nothing for us, and it only fuels a sense of hopelessness when we could be thinking about the positive outcomes.

i just wanted to say somethings about KOSA
my girlfriend doesnt have a phone, i either use tumblr with dms or emails (which isnt that often)
i already have a very limited internet access, even just being able to touch tumblr is better than before i found tumblr.
my parents are very strict with my electronics, due to past mistakes. and if they get to see what i am doing, it would make this way worse. i already have major trust issues with them, and the fact they would be able to see everything. i get scared just by me drawing some characters. scared theyre going to do... something.
if kosa gets passed then i might fall out of my fandoms. some of my fandoms im in is the community that i love. sure i like the source material, but the community makes it way better.
this is dangerous
even if we are children, we are smarter than you think. we know how to do things. we know right from wrong. we will make mistakes, but we have to learn. fuck, thats one of the major themes of one of my main stories!
stop kosa.
i dunno, i dont make these types of posts, but the world is fucked up, and the internet is how i find my happiness.

DO NOT MENTION HOW IT WILL AFFECT THOSE WHO ARE LGBT+ OR SEEKING REPRODUCTIVE HEALTHCARE. THEY DO NOT CARE.
You need to think like them. What would get them upset about this bill. Because I can tell you now it sure as hell isn't the rights of people they hate.
Off the top of my head; you could mention something about how the left may use this bill to force their policies into online spaces. You could point out that many leftist organizations support the bill. I'm sure there are dozens of things you could say to them.
Obviously you probably don't agree with anything that they believe, but you have to put on a show to get through to them. You need to act like them.
Reblogging and commenting "Boost!" is not enough. Email and call your reps if you can. Obviously if you're under 18 there isn't much you can do. But if you can do something about this: do it.
Yes even if you're scared of making phone calls or sending emails.
Yes even if you think this won't affect you. (Because it will.)
Yes even if you think it's hopeless.
This will not only affect minorities. It will also affect those looking to leave abusive or neglectful situations. It will affect those trying to advocate for those in need. It will affect those trying to protest. It will affect those who are literally just trying to have fun online. It will affect those looking for mental health resources. Those looking for help with addiction, whether it be their own or others. Those looking for truthful information on what may be depressing topics.
Why didn't I specify minors in that paragraph? Because if you don't want to give away a shit ton of personal information--even if you're an adult--you will be affected as well.

Alastors very clearly SUPPOSED to be from the 1920’s. Rosie (and her whole town) is very much 1880-1890’s. Fashion wise.
