Some of y'all forget who you support when you talk about Winter King!
PB has done the exact same thing *to her family* and so so much more.
Saying the WK deserved to *die* because he projected his insanity to PB is an INSANE take to hear.
The fact that WK even mentioned the ethics of creating living ice means he has more sense than PB ever would. She is obsessed with being leader of the Candy Kingdom without stopping to make sure she is a *good* leader for Candy Kingdom.
Marceline in Obsidian was right, honestly. PB has one of the worst arcs in the show.
And what if I said Betty is gonna try to hold Simon captive in whatever world or dimension she is in and is refusing to let him go even thought Fionna's world is actively dying. She doesn't want Simon to get hurt to hurt himself and even if he finds a better, not ice king way, she still won't let him cause in her eyes they can finally be together forever like this. Her whole speech or plea for him just for Simon to like look at her straight in the eyes and say some shit like.
"I don't want to live without you but I have to."
And with the look he gives her, she finally gets it even if it breaks her heart to accept that even if they were meant to be they were never meant to be always.
How absolutely fucked up would it be if we get to ep 9 and Simon and Betty meet for the first time in the 15-20 years after apocalypse 2.0 and Betty just goes
"Oh, Simon ..... It's been 20 years. I've moved on... i assumed you stopped searching. Golb and I have grown quite fond of each other."
That's the type of shit they would pull just to hurt this man even more than we previously thought possible.
(This scenario is so incredibly out of character, but I have one week until this whole show is over and I'm preparing myself for every outcome to not immediately evaporate upon viewing.)
I had a moment the other day while watching the AT finale.
Gunther puts on the crown and wishes to be Ice King. This action echoes the original Gunter who wished to be Evergreen.
The cycle continues.
With the crown's wish magic reset, he had the chance to break the Ice Elemental curse and rewrite what curse was passed on.
There will always be an Ice King now and there will always be a victim of the crown.
I literally had to pause and went "It doesn't ever end." And just sat in silence for a second.
It is fascinating though that Gunther's wish morphed the crown into his head. I wonder if Betty's wish made it possible that the crown is locked to its next user to block Simon from falling to ruin again.
Betty’s wish at the end of AT was “I wish for the power to keep simon safe” I think. In the last few episodes of fionna and cake we see many instances of seeing simon dead. If Betty had to gain the power of an omnipotent chaos god in order to “keep Simon safe,” does that mean Simon was fated to die in every universe ? (something something canon event)
i’m SO happy they’re letting Simon be mad and annoyed at everything, aside from the fact that its lowkey still in character, he’s the one character that deserves it. out of everyone, him.
he’s always been like this too, but he’s never really gotten to this point, at least not while lucid/sane. really our only frame of reference for him angry is this bit from Simon and Marcy
I would have loved to see a universe where during the scene in "Simon and Marcy", Simon puts the crown on Marceline to keep her from getting more sick and give her the power to protect each herself, but maintaining the sanity he had remaining in order to stay with her as long as possible, leading to a late stage Ice Simon and Ice queen Marceline surviving.
I think Marceline the Ice Queen would be very cool to see interact with Simon and the world.
Since the magic of the crown expands emotion to its pure and exaggerated form, they'd have the chance to show Marceline in a new, very raw, form.
Simon's main drive in life when he found the crown was the love of his fiance, Betty, and thus Ice Kings main driving is finding the last love that he lost, regardless of if he remembers who that is.
