Appeal to Triviality Fallacy: When someone involved in an argument attempts to shame their opponent into giving up their position by insisting an issue pertaining to a particular subject ‘doesn’t matter' usually to push their own view on said subject unopposed.
This fallacy can typically be countered with, "If it doesn’t matter, then shut up and go away."

I’m so tired of this trend of trailers using "epic orchestral renditions" of franchise tunes. I completely checked out of the Deapool 3 trailer when it happened.
Especially knowing the reason we get these in trailers and adverts these days is to save money on royalties.
Rather than pay the performance royalties owed to the original musicians, they just bully a small-time producer into signing over their rights in exchange for a small remix fee and therefore only have to pay print royalties instead, thus screwing over both the original performers AND the new ones.

The death of the old self and the rebirth of a new one is a theme that goes back as far as storytelling itself. In the origin of the Odin, he hangs himself from the World Tree, and is reborn as the wise god we know from myth today. Given the prevalence of the magic tree in Volume 9, the inspiration seems likely and it fit with the general theme they basically flatout told to the audience at the end; ending the old you and emerging a stronger, new you.
The problem is CRWBY is incompetent so they went way too hard on the suicide allegory (and they had to realize it at some point given they had to put trigger warnings at the start of the episode) and screwed their message up so it just ends a weird mess.
This is made worse due to nothing really changing whatsoever regarding the rest of the casts' relationship to Ruby. They didn't actually deal with any of the things building up in her or address how they treat/regard her at all. So it's ending the old you and emerging a stronger you, but the you that you are is Just Fine(tm) and you don't need to change at all. Probably could have made that point without the suicide tea. Like... having Neo force-feed it to Ruby like they planned before someone suggested Ruby drink it herself.
I understood what CRWBY was trying to say in Volume 9 just fine. Just like how I understand the point behind taping a banana to a wall and calling it postmodern art. I just thought the point being made was dumb.
Some ridiculous responses I'm seeing are that the episodes are 'validating suicide' with the ascension stuff. No, you media-illiterate jackasses, actually pay attention to what it's -actually- about, and not make moronic claims like that.
No because the metaphor for what RWBY is doing just doesn't work if the Tree acted like suicide.
Ruby's reason for drinking the tea were negative, and Neo's reasons for making her do so were because she was of the belief that the Tree was death, but how the Blacksmith responds shows us that that's not what it's meant to be used as. The Tree is change, it's about finding out who you want to be and facing the world again renewed.

Ugh. Getting sucked back into 'MauLer discourse' is so tiring.
Whenever someone laughs about the 11 hour Jenny Nicholson Joker response, he and his fans will whinge about how, "Nuh uh! It wasn't 11 hours! They only talked about Jenny's video for 4 hours, and only 2 of those hours were actually about the video! Most of it was about Jeb Bush memes!"
That's not the rebuttal you think it is. You just admitted that EFAP is just a bunch of aimless ramblings and a poor way to respond to content.

Wonder Woman has the same problem as Iron Man.
They can explore some really interesting ideas and have cool stories, but their rogues gallery is often forgotten, ignored, or 'retooled' to work for a more mass audience when they can work just fine, but nobody ever wants to do anything with them.
You know if you think about it, there should be a lot more characters recognized to be able to go toe to toe with a Kryptonian.
This post is mostly about Wonder Woman. Like she’s literally a demigod and extremely well trained in combat. Like I’m just spit balling here but you take the powerhouse demigod strength of Superman and the fighting skills and tactical mind of Batman and you get Wonder Woman. Not to forget the heart and compassion.
Man
Wonder Woman is so fucking cool

"Monument Mythos is pretty bad."
Monument Mythos has Richard Nixon becoming a Doctor Manhattan.
Sounds like a pretty hard fucked verse to me.
What Analog Horror Verse is the most fucked?

People think Media Literacy is having the "correct" (usually creator-endorsed) interpretation when it's actually being able to look at a piece of media and draw a conclusion of some sort, or entertain various interpretations.
But a lot of the fuel behind the meme just seems to be disdain for people who create media. Not "I don't understand because I'm dumb" but "I see what you're going for, and think it's stupid, so I'd never be caught dead understanding it."
Kind of like Modern Art. Yes. I understand you're going for some deeper meaning with your banana ducttaped to a wall, it's just dumb.
Then some people think that intelligence is learning the perspective of an artist and their work, and then changing your opinion immediately to reflect that perspective. Bud, that's the absolute LACK of media literacy.

Jeez, Gojo copium is still going? I had thought people would have realized most of Gojo's hype was his own ego by now.
Like, Gojo being a failure blinded by his own arrogance and role as "the strongest" defines a lot of Gojo's character and role. Most of the bad that's happened in JJK can be attributed back to Gojo and his inaction or failure as a leader and teacher.
The entire plot of JJK kicks off because he and Megumi were supposed to find/secure one of Sukuna's fingers (which he knew was a magnet for powerful Cursed Spirits). And what did Gojo do?
He left an indecisive freshman sorcerer like Megumi to handle it by himself because Gojo wanted to go shopping.
He ignored Sukuna's threats that he'd kill him the moment he was free, and told the JJ Elders to eat a dick at the idea of killing or extracting Sukuna from Yuji's body (from an audience perspective this is good, but in-universe that was a giant risk that very demonstrably didn't pay off).
Part of how Kenjaku was able to get Geto's body in the first place was because Gojo irresponsibly took it from JJ High, preventing it from being disposed of properly.
Then after Gojo got un-cubed he failed to protect Tengen's vessel from Toji before dying his fool's death to Sukuna.
Hell, Gojo never even beat Jogo. Every time they fought, Jogo still managed to get away/accomplish his goals.
Gojo's track record was never very good, it ain't Gege's fault loads of readers were too blinded by Gojo's 'cool factor' to see that. JJK has a lot of problems right now, but don't act like Gojo leaving a lousy legacy is one of them, or that him still being around would suddenly fix those issues.
